This review is from: TRENDnet TPL-308E2K Powerline 200 AV Nano Adapter Kit Up to 200Mbps
Pros: Very Affordable
Plug and Play
They actually work
Cons: I can not come up with one con.
Other Thoughts: When I received these powerline adapters I took them straight to work to put them to the test. I have to be honest I was not very optimistic . I have had bad experiences with these types of products in the past. Well i can honestly say I was very surprised at how well the technology has come in the last 7 years since I first was exposed to products like this. Inside my work office we could not get them not to work. What I found out was as long as they are sending signal through the same breaker box they would work. I had them plugged into power strips, different circuits and one guy I work with took them home and used them from his house to his garage and said they worked perfectly. We usually got between 30mbs to 85mbs depending on how much it had to transmit the signal through. Going through different circuits obviously will dropped the speed down. I would also like to mention they will not work through battery backup systems. I work for a small IPS and we were so impressed that we bought bunch for the office for when we run into impossible cable run jobs. So if running cat5 cable is out of the question these little guys are definitely a solid option. You are not going to get ground breaking speeds out of them but they will get you connectivity, decent through put and very respectable pings. I would recommend these to anyone being they are simply plug and play and work pretty much flawlesslyREAD FULL REVIEW
Pros: Very good performance
Very competitively priced
Comes with everything you need
Cons: The only con I can think of is the colored rings can only go on one side. So depending on the way your air flow the rings may face down but you still can see them and it isn't enough to take an egg off.
Other Thoughts: To start off with I know you see these fans in a ton of computer builds online but until when you install them in your own PC you really don't realize how sweet they look. With the different colored rings to match your build(genius idea by the way) you can make your rig be the eye catcher of the LAN Party. I have these in my White Corsair 600T and they were the finishing touches to my build. They are on 240mm and 120mm radiators which are in a loop with a 200mm radiator. They are cooling an overclocked an i7 4770k cpu @ 4.6GHz and two GTX 780 classifieds overclocked @ 1300/7800MHz. My temperatures never go above 65* on the CPU and my GPUs never see 50*. I also have one as an exhaust fan in the back. I have all 4 Corsair fans on a fan controller and I leave them about 75% of the way turned up and can barely hear them. When turned all they way up you can hear them but they are not obnoxiously loud like a lot of the other high performance fans. I only turn them 100% up when I am benchmarking and they do a great job of pulling the heat out of my radiators when I'm pushing my system to the limit. All and all I am very happy with the performance and they complete my build with the way they look.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: I have had a chance to put this hard drive through some basic file moving situations... First I took it to work (I work for a wireless internet service provider) and we do everything in house including our storage servers. I backed everything up from my storage server (about 250GB worth) at work and brought it home and hook it up in my personal home server. Everything transferred with out a hitch and with a reasonable transfer rate(around 150mbs). I wasn't expecting super high performance out of this "storage" drive since it does have low RPM and isn't really built for a fast boot drive but it really did surprise me a bit. I have basically used this hard drive as a normal user would and haven't put it through any benchmarks since that really isn't it's main purpose. As a storage drive I can say it works as expected and I am sure a few of these in a RAID configuration they would store your data just fine. I think Seagate is making a come back after some bad reviews I have seen in the last year or so. I will continue to trust my data and movie files on this till it proves me wrong :)
Cons: Price tag is a little steep IMO...but you do get some extras so it's your call
Other Thoughts: Decent performance with a decent warrentee with a little steep price tagREAD FULL REVIEW
