Pros: Well it does what it says it does, you can use it to access files over the Internet. However, you cant really have it sync local files to the device, you can only have data on the device place a cache file locally so that you can have more speedy access to the data on the device. The included desktop software makes your OS think the files are stored locally. And this works as long as the desktop software is running properly on your computer. When the desktop software is closed, the "local" copy of the files disappear from your computer.

Cons: The promise of this device is a way to keep all of your data in sync between your computers and make this data accessible over the Internet. The only way this would work is if the data on this device is the "master copy" and all the local copies are synced to this device. However, you would not want to trust your master copy of your data to this device as it uses a proprietary file system that is only accessible provided that you are running a working copy of the proprietary desktop software on your computer. If this software no longer works, for example, if your OS is at some point updated to an unsupported version, or for example, if the software becomes corrupted, you will find that all those "locally stored files" don't really exist on your computer, there is just a big cache file stored locally somewhere. The cache file is useless without the software running property. Because you cannot trust your data to the continued proper operation of their desktop software, the only use for this device is to place a copy of your files on it so that you can access it over the Internet. However, because you are just placing a copy on this device, and the desktop software does not allow you to sync actual files on your computer with this device (only a local cache can be synced to the device), you will soon find that the copy of your data accessible on the cloud is out of date as it is not synced. Also, the mobile software for accessing your data using a smartphone is really bad. Want to see your photographs? Forget thumbnails, there arent any. You would have to pick the name of the photo you want and then download it before you can open is. All you have to do is remember if the photo you want is DSC03214.JPG or DSC03114.JPG. Oh and the included wireless dongle didnt work and just fell appart in my hands. I contacted the manufacturer who just told me that they dont support the wireless dongle but I could buy a new one on my own provided it was one of the two versions that will work. So its not a good backup solution, its not a good solution for cloud access. Its also a bad solution for file sharing as the person you share your files with will need to install the proprietary desktop software on his computer before he can access the shared data. Nobody is going to do this!

Overall Review: This device is built on a great idea but unless and until it can sync ACTUAL FILES on your computer to this device, rather than just to one big cache file, its useless. Other necessary improvements would be a better mobile app with thumbnails, the ability to allow access to the stored files through a web browser, and the ability to share access to files this way.
