Pros: Bought two of these. Great product. Super performing video cards at a great price. Though admittedly anyone will match Newegg prices now.
Cons: Cards are power mongers. 250w each so you better have a huge Power supply if you plan to SLI these babies. 850W or higher recommended.
However the biggest con is that I purchased and shipped directly from NewEgg who said my transaction did not go through despite my account being charged and debited. When I got that resolved they still waited a couple more days to ship it. Then the no-name company they used called 'Ontrac' (They used to use UPS) couldn't find my house despite living on a major highway and being clearly visible. 8 days to arrive from their City of Industry warehouse 25 miles away, only to be told that the new company doesn't have my gate code. (UPS, USPS, FEDEX, DHL all get right in) so that added another 3 days since it was a Friday when they attempted. NewEgg is seriously losing their edge. Why would I even bother waiting when I can go anywhere else and match their price without all the headaches. You guys really disappointed me this time.
Other Thoughts: If NewEgg would get their heads of out their rear end I may be happier with my purchase. hardware performance is great but the experience was completely soured by Newggg and their corner cutting.
Oh and their 'discount' return shipping labels for RMA cost about $3.00 more than if you bought it yourself directly from the UPS page. What a rip off, you guys. SO disappointed in you now.
Pros: Great for overclocking and a lot better than stock cooling but....
Cons: These do NOT fit my nvidia GTX 670 cards. These cards have a different board layout than the older 570, 470, etc on which these fit fine. Many of the GTX670 cards I looked at had a similar layout to the MSI cards I have and this will not fit any of those. The VPU is more towards the middle of the card so to line up the heat sync, the fan has to be moved way back, causing it to hang past the end of the card and not even cover the front part. Based on the card layout I would guess it does not fit on the higher model cards either since they use the same spec board.
Other Thoughts: These units are great if you have an older 400 or 500 series nvidia video card, but anything in the 660 range or above and you will be out of luck as the CPU is not located in the same place on the newer cards.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: WD My Cloud 2TB Personal Cloud Storage WDBCTL0020HWT-NESN
Pros: Purchased to store large video files on the network as opposed to my PC. Tried this because someone recommended. Unit was fairly easy to setup and get working. Simple web interface for novice users. The external USB port is a nice feature as well.
I heard complaints about transfer rates but I have a gigabit network at home and found them to be pretty acceptable. I moved 90gb to the unit in about 35 mins. I also have a dual band HD wifi setup which I highly recommend if you move a lot of data and need to be wireless.
The USB port does not allow traditional uploading of data via the USB port on your pc. You MUST\ move your data over the network. However it does support gigabit so if your network is gigabit (mine is) it goes pretty fast.
Cons: Plugging a USB drive into the external port does expand your storage, however I have only been able to read the drive, not write to it. I can only write to the internal storage. I get an error every time I try to write even after trying several drives. The unit offers no options or drive utilities for the external drive so instead of transferring all my movies to the internal drive, I copied them to the USB drive (since it's read only when attached) and can add keep free space on the internal drive. I'm not sure what the story is regarding write access on the USB port . I have to call WD to get an answer I suppose since the unit comes with very little documentation and the integrated help is somewhat weak. I couldn't even find much on the WD web site regarding these specific models
I mentioned the simple web interface. But I feel it's a little too simple and lacks some extra security features. I feel it should offer an advanced settings for users who know what they are doing and need a little more security.
Other Thoughts: That being said, it's a pretty good deal for fast network storage. For another $30 you can get a 3TB unit. I do wish it offered some advanced settings and more options for that external USB attached drive so you can write instead of read only.READ FULL REVIEW
