Pros: Crazy good price
Very light, which is good for my triple mount system
No dead pixels
Decent performance for gaming
Cons: Color leans a little bit purple (still trying to adjust this out)
One of them has a small backlight hotspot on the far right edge, but only noticeable on an all black screen with zero ambient lighting.
Comes with a truly flimsy but still adequate stand
Other Thoughts: When this went on sale, I couldn't pass it up. There were no reviews anywhere, but I decided to give it a try.. bought 3 of them for a triple screen setup. So far I am impressed for the price. We'll see how they hold up over the next few months. The flimsy stand is not a problem for me since I will be mounting it to a triple arm monitor mount.
Overall, I'd say this monitor is a great deal if you are looking for (or willing to settle for) a 1080p monitor.
Pros: Decent transfer rates, cool operation, huge capacity
Cons: wish it had a higher RPM
Other Thoughts: Got 6 of these setup in a raid 5 for a media server. Have had zero problems with the drives, even with them all packed together with little airflow. Peak drive temperature is 105. Performance is awesome...READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: 3 hard disks in two 5.25 bays, supports SATA and SAS disks, primary and secondary ports for SAs, activity indicator, solid construction, removable fan. Toss in some 2GB drives, and you have some serious storage capacity.
Cons: When they say it occupies two 5.25 bays, they mean it... it is a snug fit, no room to spare. Depending on your case, you may have to wiggle it a bit to get it in. I have two of these, and on one of my cases, it went right in, on the other it was little tight on the sides, but did fit.
Other Thoughts: I feel this product has gotten a bad reputation from previous reviews. I will admit the "User Manual" is light, but I have seen much worse. All you really need to know is documented in the manual: The drive lights are green when powered on, turn amber on disk activity, and turn red on disk fail (if you hook the 6 pin header up to your raid card). Yes there are two "sata" ports per drive on the back, the orange one is for the primary channel, the black one is for the secondary channel (SAS only). Sata disks only support one channel, SAS disks can support 2 data channels. If the unit gets too hot, it sounds an alarm and the temperature light goes on red. The audible alarm can be silence with press of a button. Same story with the fan (assuming you left it attached), if the fan fails, the fan indicator lights red, and the alarm sounds. The only thing that would make this product better was if it had an embedded enclosure management chip to simplify status indicators.READ FULL REVIEW
