Worth the upgrade for 144Hz Users at 1080p Ultra Settings
Pros: $20 cheaper than the OC version for relatively similar core clock overclocking potential. (I've achieved 2000Mhz with minor voltage offset and power limit increase.
Cons: Really long Bit of GPU sag
Overall Review: Getting around 1.5x the fps in some games over 980ti with a 4790k @ 4.8 Ghz at 1080p 144hz Witcher on Ultra: 85-95 vs 130-140 The Divison (Ultra, smaa): 75-80 vs 120-130 Mass Effect: Andromeda Ultra: 70-80 vs 115-125
Cheapest motherboard that supports M.2 Gen 3 4x nvme SSDs
Pros: supports M.2 Gen 3 4x nvme SSDs Power phase design allows for decent overclocking. No awful killer Lan drivers ( Has intel)
Cons: Is blue, doesn't really go with most gaming (black and red) computers. Has some weird intel network boot that sometimes turns on your computer for no reason. Mine has issues with mouse disconnecting randomly in some ports. Doesn't happen when connected to front panel usb 2.0.
Overall Review: Only reason i bought this is because of the m.2 support that i didn't have on my previous MSI gaming 5 Z97, also i didn't want to buy a new processor when the 4790k is such a beast!
Pros: Top not stability and overclocking potential. Never had a problem with it besides my own faults (Not seating RAM down enough).
Cons: Ai Suite is absolute junk, do not use it. I screws up the bios and literally makes it useless. Also the 4 Way optimization is way over its head. It overclocked my cpu (i5 4670k) close to 4.8 Ghz and called itself stable. It also sets voltages for both CPU and RAM; both are way too high. Be aware this overrides anything you set in the bios, which is pretty annoying.
Overall Review: Board itself is great, bios easy to navigate. Software Blows. Too much Hype.
