Dell U3415W Black 34
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Big, Clear, and Crisp.

Cons: Almost too big. ;-)

Other Thoughts: I've been using this as my main monitor for a couple of months. I love the screen real estate. I'm a software developer and I always seem to run out of room.

I have 4 monitors (2 - Dell 1920x1200, Apple TBolt, and this one) hooked up to my Mac Book Pro, but this is by far my favorite.

Don't get fooled with a Dual DVI. They don't work properly with Mac. A simple (and cheap) mini display port cable does the trick.

I'd give it 5 stars, except there a few minor shadows in the bottom corners. But not very noticeable at all.

AGPtek iT4-2 Stainless Steel 150 mm LCD Digital Vernier Caliper Micrometer Gauge

2 out of 5 eggs Cheap - Not Accurate. 01/11/2015

This review is from: AGPtek iT4-2 Stainless Steel 150 mm LCD Digital Vernier Caliper Micrometer Gauge

Pros: Inexpensive, ok construction.

Cons: Not Accurate. Requires calibration each time, and that doesn't work very well.

Other Thoughts: I work on guitars, and sometimes I need to know what gauge string the customer has on it. Sometimes they don't know.

This is not even close. I tested it on several guitars that I know had .012 for the high "E" string. This thing registered .014 - 0.16. In the world of guitar strings, that is huge difference in gauges.

I tried multiple times, re-calibrating each time. The results varied and weren't even close enough for Rock-n-Roll.

Patriot SLATE 3.0 128GB USB Flash Drive Model PSF128GLSS3USB

3 out of 5 eggs Cheap Storage - Slow Transfer 01/11/2015

This review is from: Patriot SLATE 3.0 128GB USB Flash Drive Model PSF128GLSS3USB

Pros: Inexpensive, decent construction. Good for smaller file storage/transfer.

Cons: The drive is very slow. I copied a 38 gig VM file in 30 minutes. You do the math. Same file with Samsung SSD in an external USB 3 case, 2 minutes.

Other Thoughts: I read where others complained about how difficult it was to get the cap off. Well, it's not difficult, and it's by design.

You need to squeeze the thin sides of the drive and pull. If you look closely, there's a small latch on the inside of wider side. So if you press there, you're closing the latch tighter.
