Pros: The setup was a breeze, and QNAP's firmware/web interface is very user friendly. I had never set up a RAID array before, but I wanted some data redundancy to protect some of my more important files from hard disk failure. I opted for two 3TB drives. Installing the drives took minutes and formatting them into a RAID1 (mirroring) array was as easy as the click of a button. The web interface looks great and QNAP is always releasing updates for it, which are a breeze to install if you use the auto update feature. It was very easy to set up the drive as a DLNA media server and stream my media to my smart TV. You can also one-click install apps from the web interface for other features, such as web servers, download tools, surveillance tools, CMS, developer tools, SQL servers, GIT repository, etc. I highly recommend this product.
Other Thoughts: I wouldn't recommend placing the unit on carpet because the intake fan is on the bottom of the unit and causes the temps to raise up a little bit. I recently moved it to the corner of the top of my desk behind my center monitor so it is still out of sight but better ventilated. My room is at about 76F right now and the unit is holding steady at 43C (hard drives between 40-41C)READ FULL REVIEW
