Rosewill RDEE-12002 Aluminum 2.5
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Cheap, gets the job done in a pinch, it does not require extra power with an SSD installed.

Cons: Keep in mind this one uses an ASMedia chip, and won't see over 200 Megabytes per second when usb 3.0 is capable of ~500.

Other Thoughts: It is kinda cheap but gets the job done the cable is thick and if you're not careful you can bust the connector of the traces. the USB 3.0 thin connectors need to be reworked when mounting to only one side as it seems to be a matter of time for an externals' to break.

LIAN LI PC-A04B Black Aluminum MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case

3 out of 5 eggs top disfigured 12/29/2013

This review is from: LIAN LI PC-A04B Black Aluminum MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case

Pros: Lian Li's cases are my favorite for every type of build I do especially smaller builds, even for gaming.

Great overall quality except for one flaw, see cons

Cons: I have moved away from ever using this case again as it seems every single one I've received (over the span of a year) have bent corners on top.

The flat piece on top of the case has no support on the sides if there is ANY impact it seems to lift the edges like little wings about an inch on either side of the top, it lifts the aluminum up.

You'll notice in the picture it'll look different than what you receive due to this defect. I've had 8 with this defect. I attribute nobody else reporting it as an issue because it is fairly subtle and may be mistaken as part of the design.

Other Thoughts: this is the only case that has a real issue from lian li, other than them not giving full disclosure as to the PSU sizing in the itx cases.

LIAN LI PC-Q28B Black Aluminum Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case

5 out of 5 eggs My new favorite Li; A functional version of the PC-Q25B 12/28/2013

This review is from: LIAN LI PC-Q28B Black Aluminum Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case

Pros: Cases are shrinking, Lian Li's cornered the market.

Excellent Form and function as per most of Lian Li's cases

USB 3.0 up front on the side for easy access

Power/activity light is beautiful; maybe even a little sexy,
It blends color activity LED with power LED almost has a subtle UV purple tone to it which looks refined

HDD bay is fully removable leaving gobs of space when using solid state or other 2.5" drives.

Removing the HDD bay allows for full size, even larger gaming power supplies.

Adequate room for very large graphics cards

Last two make for building a powerful gaming computer in a tiny footprint.

Cons: The front intake for the size of fan is silly IMO, I realize it's regarding noise to have a large fan, but the intake seems too small to get adequate airflow. Vent the front (or side), using similar to PC-Q25B's side hole punches, this will help drop temperatures.
I would also love to see a version of this with no CD-ROM like the PC-Q25B(or even a slim CD-ROM bay) we are moving to a world based on downloadable content. This could save space if the system builder has an external CD-ROM or uses a bootable USB flash/HDD drive to install the OS with. I also miss the pop-off doors the Q25B has, this one claims doors are tool-less but it is not entirely true, they have one micro screw on either side that holds the door down. It's possible to go without I suppose but it will look like a small hole there in the middle tops of the side doors.

Other Thoughts: I recently purchased a PC-Q25B to use as my mini ITX gaming case for it's roomy graphics card area read: (fits a full size Titan)
I was disappointed with lack of USB ports, (didn't make sense to me even if it were used as a closet home server)
I was also disappointed with a lack of space for a standard sized power supply. You actually have to get a PSU designed for smaller spaces (or buy an expansion accessory which sticks out the back to accommodate full size PSU's) not standard (which is labeled on the specs that it will accept standard sizing).
