Most Favorable Review

One of the best

GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: This board is fantastic. It overclocks the RAM and CPU like a champ with the easiest method I've seen. No problems what so ever with it, technically. Plugged it in and booted it up just fine. USB 3.0 really sold this for me. Definitely need to have it in the coming future.

Cons: The board isn't without its flaws though. First, and the most annoying, is the onboard sound. If you use a PCI wireless adapter to connect to the Internet, it will use the same memory as the sound. This causes stuttering and glitchy sound when you're using the Internet. Secondly, the PCI-E x1 slots are in a terrible location. Installing a sound card for the first problem is nearly impossible thanks to the location of the slots being so close to the heatsink. The manual suggests you use the first PCI-E 16x slot for your video card for faster response, so you can't move it down. Annoying and frustrating but not worth more than an egg.

Overall Review: Despire the Cons, this board is still awesome. I would definitely buy it again, but I'd make sure I'd have a wired connection when I do. Current Setup: -Intel Core i7 930 -Gigabyte GTX 460 -G.SKILL 1333MHz (2gigs x 3) -Linksys Wireless N PCI Adapter

Most Critical Review

Don't focus on the dollar amount

ADATA S599 AS599S-40GM-C 2.5" 40GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
ADATA S599 AS599S-40GM-C 2.5" 40GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: It's a SSD. Reads and writes are off the charts but I never noticed a significant boot time difference between this and my 10000 RPM raptor.

Cons: Like previous owners stated, my mobo will simply choose not to see it on boot-ups. Not only that but coming out of Sleeps can be touchy. I've had multiple BSODs because this thing doesn't want to play nice when waking up. Lastly, you'll fill it up faster than you think. Its been over a year and a half since I bought it and despite my best efforts to only use it for Windows (I keep all my other programs on a TB HDD) it's filled up to the point that I can't use it anymore. I would not recommend it or any of ADATAs products.

Unfortunate Laptop

Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD5000BEVT 500GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: This drive works beautifully. Runs so quiet it scares you into think it's turned off.

Cons: None caused by the hard drive, just the laptop.

Overall Review: The first drive I got was DOA, clicky and all so Newegg replaced it in a week with a new one. Only problem is my Asus-G50V that I bought last year has some sort of motherboard issue when it has more than one hard drive plugged into it. I called Asus's tech support to be told not to use the bay and that there was nothing they could do. The drive gets 4 Eggs only because of the DOA though, not because Asus sucks.
