Pros: M2 SSD, lightning fast
8GB RAM is enough for demanding task
latest generation i7
SSD is user replaceable, providing that you have the right tools. M.2 disk
Cons: A little heavier than the macbook air
it does get very hot even with basic tasks
Battery life could be better
Great branding with B&O, however since the laptop is slim, you can't expect that great sound either
Other Thoughts: Decided to buy this refurbished version because it's almost 50% less than buying it new from HP. Back-lit keyboard makes it very easy to type in dark places, specially in planes.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Obihai OBI100 VoIP Telephone Adapter with Google Voice & SIP
Pros: I've been using this unit for over two years, thanks to the seamless integration with Google voice number (incoming and outgoing calls).
We've learned a few months ago that Google will drop XMPP support, protocol that Obi uses to connect GV to this device, so, ObiTalk will just become another VoIP SIP product...
Cons: Added value highly dependent on Google Voice integration, that's a con because google will drop the protocol that enables calls through Obi in May 2014.. So... unless there is a free workaround it's kinda useless for me.
Other Thoughts: Great device that knows how to integrate the best of VoIP: Provides it's own network so each device can communicate with other Obi Devices without setting any account, and compatibility with Google Voice and regular SIP providers.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Easy to set up
Lot´s of content to choose from, even more if you know the password for some pre-released channels.
HD Quality in most channels.
All major streaming services in one device (you still have to pay to each provider, Roku only provides the platform)
Having an ethernet port is a plus (WiFi included, of course)
Bluetooth remote allows placing the Roku out of line of sight which it´s great if you don´t want yet another device to show up in front of your TV. You can safely place it somewhere behind.
USB port allows to play content from your local network, if you install the proper software on the Roku.
Cons: UI kinda slow.. not unbearably slow, but could be faster
In order to set up the device you need a Roku account, which asks for your credit card info, even if you are not going to add any paying channels. Want to avoid the hassle? Dial a 1-800 number and speak to a rep.
Roku should not ask for CC info unless buying a channel
Other Thoughts: Mainly, this is a streaming device only. You can find a way to play content you already own, let´s say from a NAS or a portable hard drive, but keep in mind that support is somewhat limited as opposed to other media player gadgets you can find.READ FULL REVIEW
