Average quality cable, but gets the job done

Coboc Model SC-SATA3-18-LL-BL-90 18" 90 Degree to 180 Degree Serial ATASATA III 6Gb/s Data Cable w/Latch,UV Blue
Coboc Model SC-SATA3-18-LL-BL-90 18" 90 Degree to 180 Degree Serial ATASATA III 6Gb/s Data Cable w/Latch,UV Blue

Pros: Reaches maximum SATA speeds Locking clip

Cons: May cause issues with HDD if you get a bad cable Not as flexible as it could be

Overall Review: I bought a bunch of these cables and noticed that about 2 were causing reading issues when I tried a RAID 0 setup with 4 HDDs. At first I thought I had bought some defective HDDs, but a quick cable swap revealed it was the cable. The cables aren't as flexible as you'd think either, but give you enough wiggle room to get things done. My suggestion is to buy at least 2-3 cables, but if you get a good one you're set as they work as well as any other sata cable.

Speed or downtime? You decide.

Linksys DPC3008 Advanced DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem
Linksys DPC3008 Advanced DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem

Pros: 340 mbps d/l and 120mbps u/l puts this modem at the top of the mountain, at least at the time it came out. DOCSIS 3.0 was icing on the cake and makes it compatible with newer and future technologies. As always with signals, you don't necessary get your max speed due to things like signal strength (too strong a signal can cause major problems as well as too low). I have a 50mbps Comcast connection and through speed tests and optimization I can bump it up to 56-60mbps through this modem. As far as speed goes it does what it says, but there is a downside.

Cons: This modem is notoriously known to have connection issues. I was lucky that it was over 1.5 years before I started experience any disconnections, but when it did it came with a whole world of hurt. Every 5 minutes it would disconnect, sometimes it wouldn't comeback on for hours. At times when it was connected my connection was SUPER slow, only pulling like 32kbps (which is seriously like dial-up) on what is supposed to be a 50mbps line. I was forced to upgrade to the latest Motorola modem to enjoy my internet and haven't regretted it since!

Overall Review: Several cable companies adopted this modem as its own so if your cable company dares to put this in stop them immediately! Thousands of others know the frustration this modem has caused. A failure on Cisco's end.

Dont waste your time

Thermaltake AC0031 USB 3.0 Support MS Slot, CF Slot, SD Slot,Extreme Slot, Micro SD Slot, M2 Port Multi-Card Reader
Thermaltake AC0031 USB 3.0 Support MS Slot, CF Slot, SD Slot,Extreme Slot, Micro SD Slot, M2 Port Multi-Card Reader

Pros: - USB 3.0 - Multi-card reader - Reads micro-sd without SD adapter

Cons: - 2nd usable 3.0 port stopped working a few months in - Usable USB 3.0 port is wasted on a "charging only" port - 2nd USB 3.0 port requires additional usb 3.0 plug-in (so you must have a free internal or rear usb 3.0 port when you bought this because you either needed front ones in the first place or had none!!!!) - 3.5 to 5.25" bracket barely holds it in

Overall Review: I bought this because my case doesn't have front usb 3.0 ports and the built-in card reader doesn't work despite the already overwhelmingly negative reviews. This thing seems like a decent build (like all Thermaltake products), but like them all, they eventually start falling apart and you experience the design problems firsthand. A few months in the only other data usb 3.0 port stopped working (the one which requires you to plug it into another usb 3.0 port to even function...) Speaking on that it comes with a usb 3.0 header which only powers TWO of the THREE ports (the charging only one and one data port). To get the other usb 3.0 data port working you need to plug the extra usb 3.0 cord into another usb 3.0 port you already have which is lazy design. The 3.5" to to 5.25 adapter is also laughably bad. I'm able to pull the entire thing out almost an inch when its supposed to be secured in. If you plug something too powerful in like an external drive it shuts off the other usb 3.0 data port too so good luck trying to transfer data between two drives connected to the ports. Whats even more sad is that this is a pretty unique product (combo usb 3.0 hub and card reader) so it's something you might end up buying anyway since the competition doesn't come close in most cases. If something better comes out, this thing is going out the window.

Great product that gets the job done!

Antec VP-450 450W ATX 12V v2.3 Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible
Antec VP-450 450W ATX 12V v2.3 Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: Immediate response after sudden power outages Cool and quiet Easy installation

Cons: Bigger than expected

Overall Review: I built a desktop for my aunt and I wanted it to be a lower mid-range PC. The price of this combined with the specs was perfect, but before I found this I decided to go with an even cheaper brand which turned out to be a mistake. With the other brand I received 2 dead power supplies in a row then I found a list of power suppliers, their products, and the grades they receive. This Antec power supply was in the B+, A- range which was an even better deal. One year later and there have been no hiccups even with power outages. It even performs better than the Rosewill 1000W power supply (which is going to be replaced soon) I have in my personal desktop which in a power outage I have to jump through all sorts of hoops to get back on.

How not to do a high storage USB 3.0 flash drive

Patriot Supersonic Magnum 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive PEF64GSMNUSB
Patriot Supersonic Magnum 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive PEF64GSMNUSB

Pros: Fast speeds Looks nice

Cons: Bad housing Big clunky design Not as fast as it says Heat problems Frequently reinstalls drivers

Overall Review: I bought this when it first came out as it was the first of its kind and seemed like the best on the market. After trying it out the first time I noticed that the 100+ read/write speeds was clearly a lie, I barely got over 60mbps write using fastcopy on a usb 3.0 port, 8 core processor, 32gb ram computer. A few weeks later the flash drive fell out of the housing when I tried to insert it into a laptop at work. I had to tape it together until I found some super glue. The housing has a big, clunky, poor design which falls apart because when you insert it, you're actually pushing it apart from the adhesive that holds it together. It's also so big so if you have adjacent ports, you're going to have to remove one so make room for this big thing. I transferred about 750gb worth of files from my old laptop using this and it got really hot. Hopefully the heat doesn't destroy the drive, but I'm sure it also played a part into the housing falling apart as enough heat can mess with the adhesive.

Pros: Fast write/read speeds Looks nice

Cons: Nowhere near as fast as the specs say Housing fell apart after a couple weeks of use because of poor design and bad materials HUGE housing makes it very inconvenient as a flash drive Tends to get hot after transferring large files Frequently tries to re-install drivers upon insertion
