Excellent for the price
Pros: Great build quality. supports overclocking with new bios update which is great for the pentium G3258 anniversary edition. fits in mini itx cases(if you arent using a dual slot video card). It's also my favorite color. Price can't be beat seeing as it's the cheapest lga 1150 socket board available.
Cons: Limited expandibility. Integrated audio is just 5.1 as opposed to 7.1. Too few usb ports. No internal usb 3.0 header. Lack of pci slot. its single case fan header runs most case fans very loudly making a molex fan header adapter recommended.
Overall Review: Lack of expandibility hurts this board more than anything. its lone pcie 1x slot is best used to add an internal USB 3.0 header and some ports to the back as well. This board's best use is definitely in low power specialized applications like being a dedicated Minecraft Server or in an HTPC. where upgradability isn't an issue
Total loss
Pros: None
Cons: Sketchy drivers. Supposed Linux drivers do not work. windows drivers do not even work. Device is misidentified as an Xbox 360 wireless controller adapter. even when windows searches windows update for a driver it tries to use the Xbox 360 controller driver.
Overall Review: It looked promising being USB 3 and being speced for high throughput but the device is completely non functional. There seems to be either a problem with the device's firmware or the drivers. Spent hours (unsuccessfully) trying to install Linux drivers written for an outdated kernel version. Spent more time installing windows on the same machine only to find out that the drivers are broken for even windows.
A Good Drive
Pros: No signs of failing anytime soon. Quiet. excellent read write speed for a mechanical drive. Makes itself a good drive for most anything you need mass storage for.
Cons: adds a tiny bit of heaft to my already heavy system.
Overall Review: I use it to store large files such as Linux ISOs and Virtual Machines which takes a load off my SSD.
Works Great... after I fixed it
Pros: Has a micro usb power in port for the usb devices allowing phones to utilize power hungry devices like hard drives and bright led backlit keyboards and mice. Since it has two usb ports It doesn't usuallyt require an additional hub for multiple devices.
Cons: poor construction quality.
Overall Review: The first time I tried to plug in a micro usb cable for power the socket came loose inside the plastic casing and got pushed deep inside. I popped open the casing and found out the ground(black) wire was also broken from its contact. I decided to resolder the wire and use craft glue to re-secure the socket and now it works perfectly. That troublesome socket is the only part that feels cheaply constructed and isn't even necessary for basic use.
Decent bluetooth adapter
Pros: Dimly illuminated blue. has acceptable range. does everything that is needed of it. works with linux Mint. plays well with many different devices.
Cons: File transfer is quite slow(sub 100 kilobytes per second) as in it would be faster to send files to a cloud service and back to the target device.
Overall Review: Its pretty much a standard bluetooth adapter that uses the microsoft bluetooth stack which i found out doesn't work with newer Wii remotes. This adapter would make subpar choice for someone trying to use wii remotes with windows unless the toshiba bluetooth stack is used
Rage inducing install
Pros: Super quiet. LED fan looks great in see through and windowed cases. Plenty of surface area to dissipate heat. comes with a ton of thermal compound. prevents that annoying cpu fan rev up when booting.
Cons: The thing is all but impossible to install correctly if the motherboard is already inside a case. getting it on this way without breaking the delicate thermal grease seal is like nailing warm jello to a tree. the manual instructs that the allen wrench be angled using the rounded end to screw the screws in which need to be at a 90 degree angle to the board so they will properly make contact with the female ends which will fall out if not being held in place(which is difficult in and of itself to maneuver with a heavy case in your lap) . It's also much taller than it looks and needs a larger case to fit properly.
Overall Review: The best way to install this cooler is to uninstall the motherboard out of its case and use the short end of the allen wrench perpendicularly to the board. it also helps to have clamps or a friend to keep everything in place.
