Good to go
Pros: Instantly noticed an increase in performance when I replaced my old 4200rpm drive with this one. It's fairly quiet and doesn't seem to get overheated.
Cons: I'll probably see a decrease in battery life due to the 3000 more rpms.
Overall Review: I like to zero-fill my drive when I'm re-installing the OS. Hopefully I'll be able perform a zero-fill on this drive when needed. The old drive (also a Hitachi Travelstar) was not supported by Drive Fitness Test (v4.06), so a zero-fill was not possible.
Pros: Price, shipped with latest firmware, color matched my case, fairly quiet.
Cons: Could not burn CDs any faster than 32x with Nero, I'm able to burn at 40x every time using my nearly 2 year old DVD-RW drive using the same media. Refused to read a couple of my discs.
Overall Review: I love how every time I buy something, it's always cheaper a few days later...
is asus slippin'?
Pros: quality board with lots 'o features.
Cons: memory is testing bad in all four slots. i have tried four different sets of ram with no joy. i have recently read about other people having this problem as well. thought i researched enough before buying, guess not.
Overall Review: i haven't had any blue screens or anything like that, but memtest shows errors with any ram i put in this mobo. as long as i don't start having crashes, etc., i won't go through the hassle of taking apart my computer and rma'ing this board. keeping my fingers crossed...
i caught a mouse
Pros: inexpensive, has a nice feel. works perfectly with no weird button sticking action or anything like that.
Cons: light stays on at all times, no biggie though.
eggcellent
Pros: great performance. rips/burns at great speeds, low price. you can overspeed to 16x using qsuite and taiyo yuden t02s.
Cons: nun
Overall Review: be advised this drive favors +r media, so if you use mostly -r maybe go with a lite-on or nec. it does ok with -r, it just likes +r better. also you should immediately d/l the qsuite utility from benq's website, it's very useful.
Pros: decent middle of the road vid card for the price.
Cons: hoping for better performance with bf2.
