This review is from: BUFFALO DriveStation 3TB USB 3.0 External Desktop Hard Drive HD-LC3.0U3
Pros: Is easy to use.
Cons: None that I have come across.
Other Thoughts: The unit was instantly picked up by my computer. I formatted it into 2 partitions . On that I use for making Acronis Trueimage storage area , the other just for manual backups of data . The drive works quite well . Runs faster than I actually expected from a USB 3 drive. All in all , I am quite happy with this drive and I will be purchasing another to use as network attached storage through my router.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: This card runs cool and quiet and is actually well designed .
Cons: The issue seems to be with the entire Nvidia 770 line and Windows 8 . I was running an Nvidia GTX 650 Ti , and was getting 80 FPS in Team Fortress 2 and 50 FPS in Final Fantasy XIV:ARR . I installed this card and in Team Fortress 2 I am now getting 25 FPS and in Final Fantasy XIV:ARR I am getting 14 FPS average , and that is with everything turned LOW , if I max out settings it drops to 2 FPS. I even tried using the newest Beta Drivers from Nvidia and they do not improve the situation . I reinstalled WIndows 7 and the FPS in all games was in the 50 - 100 FPS range. This only seems to be with the 770 line and Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 ( I tried both ).
Other Thoughts: I kept this card past the return date hoping that either a Microsoft update or an Nvidia driver update would repair the issues . I tried every tweak on the internet trying to get better frame rates with this card and with various games.
If I could return this card and get my money back I would . I'd get a 760 line card , they apparently don't have the issues the 770 line have.
Pros: The card works great and gives great performance for this price range .
Cons: This card was quite as could be , even when gaming ( it could get a little loud , but not as loud as some cards I've owned). Then just this last week , the fan started getting REALLY loud. As near as I can tell , the bearings in the fan must be going bad , either that or the fan is off of balance and has taken this long to wear down enough to become noticeable . In any case , the fan now cycles between being quiet at low speed to ramping up to shopvac loudness . It also causes the entire case to vibrate heavily.
Other Thoughts: I am going to tear into the case and get the registration info off of the card and contact EVGA ( I know I should have done that first ) , and see if I can get a new fan sent to me. I know I can change it out myself without any issues, just need to know the size fan to replace it with.READ FULL REVIEW
