Pros: Low power consumption. Stock clock over 3 ghz.
Cons: The included heat sink looks like it came from an old pentium 50?
I am sure it would cool sufficiently given the chance, but at what noise level?
Other Thoughts: This is for a home server on 24-7, have not yet had a problem with 4 other machine streaming videos or music to and from it.
I needed an efficient server- I cool this with a Scythe SCMG-3000 120mm Heat Pipe CPU Cooler from the egg PASSIVELY no fan no noise woot!! Temps are at 27-c or 80-f idle, never been above 110-f under heavy load.
This review is from: Scythe SCMG-3000 120mm Heat Pipe CPU Cooler
Pros: Large heat sink with 6 double ended heat pipes really work efficiently.
Relatively easy install. Light weight for it's size. also it can be mounted in horizontal air flow or vertical air flow.
Cons: Finn edges could be dressed a little better. They bend easy with average handling. (slight bends not damaging bends).
only worth a mention. Could use a better mount system for amd.
Other Thoughts: If you're case does not have a hole cut in the motherboard tray, you will have to remove the motherboard to install.
I would have taken an egg off, but this cooler is sitting on a amd x2 260 (without the fan)! The idle temps are 80-F / 27-C home server on 24-7 even under load never saw temps above 106-F. I have this mounted in vertical air flow orientation (fan would blow up and out case) the width of this unit hangs over the first ram slot (msi 790fx-gd70 mb) the lowest finns are just over .5 inch clearance to the top of the ram (standard size no heat sinks). I was able to install the ram in the first slot with the cooler in place.

Pros: Powerful, silent, efficient, plenty of cables for all you're stuff.
cables are on the stiff side (wrapped well) but not ridiculous.
Other Thoughts: This is a standard size psu. cables are plenty long for a full size tower.
I wanted to build a home server (on 24-7) and wanted an efficient build. msi790fx gd70 mb, 2 ssd in raid 0, 4 spinners in raid 10, 4 gigs ram, ati 6450 video card, amd x2 260 cpu bumped to 3.4, and 2 pci cards. This psu power all of this with so little heat the fan has yet to come on!!! no fan on cpu either :o passively cooled, only fan in the server is the hot swap cage.
