Most Critical Review

Microsoft quality slipping

Messenger Kit for Xbox 360 - Black
Messenger Kit for Xbox 360 - Black

Pros: Pretty much the same review I have the wired Xbox 360 controller. When this product is good it's great. It's so much faster and easier to use this chat pad for typing than using the normal interface.

Cons: Cons is exactly what I gave the controllers. Quality from the factory is slipping. I'm getting more and more controllers/chat pads etc that are faulty right out of the box. My latest chat pad came right out of the box with 3 stuck keys. They had to be pressed really really hard in order for them to activate.

Overall Review: I hate giving these and the controllers 3 eggs instead of 5 over something like fit and finish from the factory but when it's affecting functionality it becomes important enough to affect a review. I've had my Xbox 360 for several years now and up until about a year ago the Microsoft official brand controlleres and assecories where the best on the market. Lately I've been getting more and more "lemons", products with sticky keys, squeeky moving parts and fitament issues. Official MS products are still the best quality on the market as long as you get a good one but the odds of getting a lemon lately are increasing quite noticeably.

Can't be any pros if you can't use them..

Pros: I don't know. I've been fumbling with this flimsy thin "tape" for awhile now trying to get it separated. By the time I do (if) then the tape will probably be warped/damaged from all the picking at it.

Cons: Well it's pretty much useless if you can't get it peeled off to ever put it on my mouse.

Pros: Still the best quality controller on the market IF you get a good one.

Cons: The problem is lately I'm getting alot of bad eggs from Microsoft products. You can tell the fit and finish as well as the functionality of these controllers has been slipping of late. The edges are kind of rough where the front and back plate meet together. You can feel the join between the front and back plates scratching at the palm of your hand. There also seems to be a problem with the components. I had one that would not transmit sound to the earpiece of the headset. The mic works fine on that controller but no head set can receive sound through the controller. I had another that the left trigger squeeked and was unresponsive and the X button had to be practically pounded to get it to respond. On quite a few of these the analog sticks are inconsistent with each other. Sometimes the left might be a little looser than the right, others the opposite. L or R buttons might not have the "spring back" that they should, etc.

Overall Review: These controllers used to be top knotch and as I stated earlier if you get a good on they are still the best on the market IMO. However I have been getting alot of these lately that are low on quality control. Buttons are inconsistent and one simply has to look at them to see the fitament and finish isn't up to par with the previous versions. If it were not for quality control flaws these controllers would be a 5 egg product for sure. The design is great and when these controllers are good they are the best all around. Unfortunately it's the frequency of "lemons" that causes me to have to reduce that to 3 eggs.

Not good

UFC Personal Trainer Xbox 360 Game
UFC Personal Trainer Xbox 360 Game

Pros: Would be ok I guess if it worked correctly.

Cons: Not sure what to say other than it doesn't work consistently at all. I have ample space, the kinect is mounted ideally but it just doesn't register well at all. I'm a 7 year personal trainer with a B.S. in Strength and Conditioning and my push-ups didn't register 20% of the time lol. As a PT I notice the smallest changes in exercise form and I have no idea why some score and some don't with the connect. Sit ups also missed about 30% of the time and side lunges wouldn't register at all. The only side lunge that scored was when I stood straight up and turned to comment to my wife on the inconsistency of the game and while I'm standing there completely erect it registers a side lunge after not counting like 20 in a row.

Overall Review: Honestly the Kinect is just another disfunctional piece of garbage from Microsoft. The game obviously needs to have it's consistency worked on as well but I doubt the kinect is helping it make up for any of its inadequacies.
