Decent successor to the DeskJet 9688
Pros: Good price. Using high capacity ink will cost about .02 to .03 a page. Print head is separate, uses 4 individual ink tanks. Setup is similar to 9680/9688; I just plugged it into my router, hit the wireless button on the front of the printer, plugged that IP address into my browser and configured like that. Used downloaded drivers from HP instead of CD it came with. Excellent print quality
Cons: The double sided printing module on the back is a little cumbersome to fasten on correctly. When you set up the printer, give it a good push to make sure it is on correctly or it will try grabbing paper out of the tray for 10 minutes. Does a lot of ink priming and can be on the noisy side. Not obnoxious, but you know it's doing something.
Overall Review: I have three of these currently in the field, so we'll see how the hold up to heavy usage. Will review later down the road.
Died just over a year
Pros: Fast when it worked.
Cons: Now it is dead.
Windows 8.1 - Works Well
Pros: Inexpensive. 300Mbps(have to disable 2.4Ghz in device settings)
Cons: I had to wait an entire day before it arrived.
Overall Review: Had to install the driver first before I plugged it in (used the driver from manufacture's support page)
0 for 5
Pros: Great until you reset your computer.
Cons: Own 5 of these. Board will not POST after power cycle unless you remove the CMOS battery and clear CMOS. This includes one board that was RMA'ed.
one year, still going strong
Pros: Same as mentioned previously.
Cons: The radio waves turn my microwave on from time to time. (not really.)
Overall Review: PoE injector N82E16833997048
Highly functional
Pros: Quality 3 in 1, this thing does not feel cheaply made despite the low price. Uses Control Center 3 management software, highly configurable. Ink is inexpensive. Automatic document feeder works well.
Cons: Once in a while I get a phantom printer jam, curable by simply pressing OK. Printing envelopes in humid weather will seal them shut. You can get around this by folding the lip back around the envelope and feeding it in. And also the envelope comes out slightly curled.
Overall Review: You can't beat Brother laser printers for the price.
