This review is from: Pioneer 15X BD-R SATA Blu-ray Burner BDR-2208, Retail Kit.
Pros: Drive appears to be of high manufacturing quality. Tray opens solidly. Have only burned LTH Blu-Rays at 4x but without any issues. Burns 25 GB in ~25 minutes with data verified OK. DVD's and CD's burned with no problems. Drive is quiet during reading/writing at all tested speeds.
Comes bundled with CyberLink Media Suite 8 for Blu-Ray (haven't used much - ImgBurn works great though).
Cons: None yet.
Other Thoughts: As always, Newegg is the best! When first installed, boot-up time increased. Had to change the BIOS boot sequence to not use CD-ROM first.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Fast and quiet at all operating speeds. Has handled everything without any hitches. Door, when ejected, pops right out at you without much delay.
Bundled with OEM version of Nero 12 Essentials.
Cons: Tray feels cheap when out...be careful not to bump into when open. Tray also sounds delicate when opening but so far no issues.
Nero 12 Essentials is OEM version and has limited functionality.
Pros: Have burned Blu-Ray data discs only on 10 discs without a single issue. At 4x they will write at about 1 GB per minute (25 minutes to fill). Have verified all without a problem.
Hub printable surface is smooth and makes for a nice printable surface.
Cons: LTH media might not be as compatible across the board. Some question on the internet to the archival quality of the LTH style discs.READ FULL REVIEW
