This review is from: Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Pros: I've had this case for about two months now, thought it was time to write up one of these.
-simple look, no bright LEDs
-lots of ventilation obviously, purchased one $5 rosewill fan for the front myself and it's great.
-really love the air filter, you can clean the inside out less just wipe the dust filter every now and then
-loving the bottom mounted PSU
Cons: -noise, I came from a RAIDMAX black case and that thing was dead silent... this not so much. The antec fans on low are louder than the fans on my old case plugged up to molex. Also the the hard drive tic is noticeable in this case, in the raidmax I could hear nothing but you can hear it pretty clear in this Antec, add rubber??
noise is really the only con I can find with this thing.
Other Thoughts: I have a OCZ ModXStream 700W PSU, the cables reached ok as seen here on imageshack:
the only thing is two of the screws won't go in as they don't line up physically, can't remember if it was the top or bottom ones. Either way that's a small nitpick as it's still in there pretty secure, and I don't move this machine much.
Overall even though the raidmax was quieter, this case is a better pick because it's smaller than the raidmax while still having plenty of room for my components, and no flashy LEDs!!
This review is from: Rosewill RCW-586 100ft. Network Cable - Cat 6 - Gray
Pros: Being a gamer I wanted to go wired instead of wireless, and this cable did a great job running internet into my room with fast speeds!
Cons: None really, sometimes the it seems hard to unplug from the back end of the computer--but you rarely need to do that anyway.
Other Thoughts: If you need a long cable go for this oneREAD FULL REVIEW
This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3P AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard
Pros: Used this board for my first custom computer build.
Overall for a first timer this board made it easy for me, manual listed out most hardware installation and setup was a breeze. Friend talked me into getting this over an AM2 board for my budget build and good thing I did, AM3 should hopefully last a while and that would mean future ungrades. Used the G.SKILL RAM that was recommended for this board and it worked great.
Cons: Pretty sure this isn't a con of the board itself but I leave my computer on a lot--and one time a lightning storm came in and went through some of our lines, not sure which. Anyway it killed the onboard internet could never get the onboard to work again... had to buy a PCI Ethernet adapter but I guess I should be grateful it didn't take the whole board.
From what I can tell it has not affected any other part of this board and it's still a solid board.
Other Thoughts: Parts used for this build:
AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition 3.1GHz (IN82E16819103680)
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 (N82E16820231189)
