ASUS P9X79 DELUXE LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
ASUS P9X79 DELUXE LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Pros: Beast of a motherboard. All PCI-E, not PCI slots. Two of which run at a full x16 link. 6 USB 3.0 ports. Can flash the bios WITHOUT CPU OR RAM. This saved me when I installed my 3820 with G.Skill DDR3-2133 Ripjaws set. Full of features, I've never owned such a fully loaded motherboard. Intel Enterprise-grade RAID, supports TRIM in RAID as well. Has absolutely zero shortcomings.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Flash the BIOS with the latest version before you do anything. Core i7 3820 16gb (4x4gb) G.Skill DDR3-2133, XMP 1.3 2x AMD Radeon HD 6870 (1gb) 2x Corsair Force GT in RAID-0 3x 1Tb HDD (7200rpm) in RAID-5 1kW Seasonic Power Supply If you want the nicest, fully featured board, you're looking at it as of this review.

Ugh. Really? Again?

Hanns·G HG-281DPB Black 28" 3ms Widescreen LCD HDMI Monitor 500 cd/m2 800:1 Built-in Speakers
Hanns·G HG-281DPB Black 28" 3ms Widescreen LCD HDMI Monitor 500 cd/m2 800:1 Built-in Speakers

Pros: Big Display @ 1920x1200 Bright Decent Contrast

Cons: My first display, DDC stopped working, had to send it back. Had to pay 80 dollars for shipping back to their facility. Got a new display, worked fine for a month, then the screen started showing red and green pixel artifacts on specific colors and contrasts. HannsG's replacement for my RMA still works, but is defective and they won't pay for shipping back to their facility after they said that they would. As this is the second replacement for the same product, I would expect more from them. I will not get another display from HannsG, their customer service is unreliable and unprofessional and their hardware is sub-par made with cheap materials. Stick with proven bands if you want superior image quality, reliable hardware, and technical support that is professional and is useful.

Overall Review: This monitor has a cheap price tag for a reason, keep that in mind when you buy it, but remember it is expensive to ship such a large monitor back to them and their support is not very knowledgeable and a hassle to deal with. You know something is strange when your replacement for an RMA is also defective.

Great display

Dell 23" 60 Hz IPS LCD Monitor IPS 7ms (GTG) 1920 x 1080 D-Sub, DVI-D S2340M
Dell 23" 60 Hz IPS LCD Monitor IPS 7ms (GTG) 1920 x 1080 D-Sub, DVI-D S2340M

Pros: -Good pixel density -Darks are dark, brights are very bright. -Glossy screen doesn't make the image look grainy like a matte finish would. -Low power, ~15-watt max each.

Cons: -Refreshes a little slow, but it's not bad for a 60hz display. -Only came with a VGA cable when it should have only came with DVI.

Overall Review: -Glossy finish. Glare on dark images if there is a lot of light behind you. You get used to it. -I bought 3 of them for myself, they're all working great without any issue.

Rosewill RK-9100 - Illuminated Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with Cherry MX Blue Switches
Rosewill RK-9100 - Illuminated Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with Cherry MX Blue Switches

Pros: Sturdy build Consistent key illumination Isn't as loud as I was expecting it to be. All functionality of the keyboard works Keyboard has a lot of weight. Keyboard stands also have rubber on the bottom. -- Between the rubber feet and the weight of this keyboard, it does not move.

Cons: Didn't have the money to get this until right after the sale was up. I bought it 20 dollars more expensive because of it but it was worth every dollar spent.

Overall Review: It weights more than my 13" MacBook Air for work.

4 years and then...

Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EACS 1TB 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Reliable Reasonable cost at the time SATA 3gb Capacity

Cons: Slow, it's the weakest link in my RAID-5. Reliable until it is 4 years old.

Overall Review: Disk is in the process of dying after 4 tenuous years of abuse. I'm about to replace it with a equi-sized Caviar Black, the Greens are too slow and I hear about them dying after 3 years regularly after constant use.

Is your 8-pin cpu power too small?
