1 out of 5 eggsQuiet - for 48 hours

Pros: * Good price
* Very effective at cooling

Cons: * Was only quiet for 2 days
* Pump now makes a very annoying grinding noise

Other Thoughts: This product literally has "Quiet" in its name, but it makes an annoying grinding sound, certainly loud enough to hear over the rest of the system fans.

3 out of 5 eggsFan inside unit is ticking about 500TPM...

Pros: Works exactly as intended. Cools from 80°C running no cooler down to 30°C in an instant.

Cons: Does NOT fit LGA 1150, the backplate bracket that it came with did not fit so I had to.. Modify.. It in order for it to fit. Nothing else other than mine was defective. Lucky me! :)

Other Thoughts: My cooler worked great for the first day, changed cases, was very careful with my cooler, and the fan inside now ticks at about 500 times per minute. Horrible noise, still works but will be returning sadly.

3 out of 5 eggsBittersweet

Pros: It cools your CPU like it says it will.

Cons: Corsair advertises that it will fit 1155 motherboards... My ASRock Z77 begs to differ. I literally spent 2-3 hours contorting the back brace to fit the screw holes. This then made the installation of the radiator extremely difficult, I managed to do it. And I overclocked my CPU to 4.4 Ghz the same night at stable temps. Like the title says, bittersweet.

Other Thoughts: I would like to have given this 4-5 stars but the back brace debacle was just such a let down. I was on the verge of returning the product!

3 out of 5 eggsDecent cooler, bargain price

Pros: Straightforward installation, decent cooling, quality parts.

Cons: Not as quiet as you'd think

Other Thoughts: I bought this cooler to replace a stock Intel heatsink/fan combo for an i7-4790k which has not been overclocked. Installation was pretty straightforward, and I was able to install the cooler without removing the motherboard from the case (Lian Li PC-Q36WX), though it was a bit tricky.

Corsair's recommended use for this cooler is to reverse the flow of air in your case, so what used to be your exhaust fan will likely become your intake fan now. This wasn't an issue because my power supply takes air from inside the case and vents it outward (though those with hotter rigs might not want to do this as it will increase the temperature of the air being pulled into the power supply).

Some have commented on the bracket that goes on the backside of the motherboard on LGA1150 boards, claiming that they need to warp the bracket in order to get the posts to line up -- this is not true, and likely what they've done is installed the bracket inserts in the wrong holes. If you're installing on an LGA1150, realize that just because you put a nut in the upper left-hand hole on one corner doesn't mean that the other nuts go into the same hole on the other corners -- look closely at the bracket hole labels and you'll see that you're going to need to install the nuts in non-symmetric holes on each of the 4 corners.

With the nuts installed in the correct places, the bracket fits perfectly and needs no warping or bending at all for a successful installation.

Those with more open-air cases (like the Lian Li PC-Q36WX mentioned, with it's thin, aluminum chassis and ventilation mounts on both sides of the case) might be disappointed if they were looking to reduce the amount of noise put off by their coolers. With the Corsair H50, you will be able to hear both the CPU pump as well as the radiator fans, though it's not "loud" -- just audible. I suspect using this in a more soundproof case, like a Fractal Design Define R4, would be closer to "silent" -- but for more "open" cases, it will likely be as loud as your stock cooler.

Temps are ok -- idle around 80 F, peak at just under 140 F -- well within the thermal design for this processor.

All in all, it's not a bad cooler, it's good for smaller mini-ITX builds, and it's cool to say my rig is now liquid cooled, but this thing is not nearly as silent as I expected and it doesn't really cool my processor any better than a decent heatsink and fan combo would.

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't Fit My Gigabyte X99 Motherboard

Pros: None

Cons: As it doesn't fit an X99 motherboard from Gigabyte, it's useless to me. And Corsair is of no help whatsover. Their "retention ring" doesn't fit my motherboard, so I can't use it! DON'T BUY!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooling Solution

Pros: Install was easy and straight forward. Keeps my CPU very cool compared to stock fan. This thing is a must if you're overclocking.

Cons: I bent a couple of the fins while removing it from the packaging, not really a knock against Corsair but it would be nice to have a little bit more protection for the fins.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Product, Terrible Instructions

Pros: Runs cool, isn't too noisy, and hasn't leaked yet (I have only had it for a few days).

Cons: 1.PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS LGA COMPATIBLE BUT NOT LISTED AS SO IN THE INSTRUCTIONS: Many people have purchased this product thinking that it was LGA 1150 compatible because that is what it said on Newegg. They would then open it up, look at the instructions, see no mention of LGA 1150 (only mention of 1366, 1155, and 1156) and then return it because it isn't compatible with their system. IF YOU ARE GOING TO INSTALL THIS INTO AN LGA 1150 SYSTEM THEN FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR LGA 1156 AND IT WILL WORK PERFECTLY FINE. Like many others I was going to return mine, but unlike many others I did some measurements and found that LGA 1156 is the same fan mounting size as LGA 1150.
2.There is a small plastic ring included in the box, but absolutely no mention of it in the instruction manual. This ring is used to attach the CPU block to the retention ring before you attach the retention ring to the motherboard (this allows you to install it all at once and may be easier for you than if you were to do it the way listed in the manual). The other option (the only one shown in the manual) is that you first attach the retention ring to the motherboard and then fiddle with the CPU block until it fits into the retention ring.
3.The instruction manual states that it is recommended to blow the hot air from the heat sink into your case (in a push configuration), and they provide no extra screws if you want to actually blow the hot air out of your case instead of in. I had to find some extra case screws that kind of fit, just in order to have a fan configuration that actually makes sense (Corsair could have easily supplied a few extra screws)

Other Thoughts: I am not pleased with the absolutely terrible user manual provided by Corsair. After some research, I found out that there was an older version of this cooler, and I believe that when corsair made changes to this older cooler they forgot to give it a new instructions manual because the current one is trash.

5 out of 5 eggsFirst liquid cooled build

Pros: With an i5 4690k overclocked to 4.4ghz I haven't seen idle temps higher than 32C stays at 60C under load for long periods of time. Not sure how people had so much trouble, as the 1150 installation is a breeze. The thing is quiet, even with a push pull setup (be sure to get an extra set of screws and a 120mm fan as they are not included). Hoses are flexible and easy to manage. Packs an incredible punch for a cheap price meets all my needs.

Cons: their pre applied thermal compound isnt great, for better results wipe it off and use something else

Other Thoughts: I went back and tightened the cold plate on a bit more, and my temps reduced so make sure its on tight

4 out of 5 eggsGreat product, once you get it installed properly.

Pros: This product does work, and it works fairly effectively. I have a mid tower case that is crammed to the brim with very poor air flow, and my CPU (i5 2500k) maxes out at 60c under heavy load at a 3.3->4.5ghz overclock! Idle temps range from 30-35c. Not bad!

Cons: The instructions for installation are awful. While the product description says that the brackets for this cooler support LGA 1150 and LGA 1155, i found it extremely difficult to install this bracket onto my LGA1155 motherboard. I had to bend and bow the bracket to get it to work properly - but i did not have to cut it as some others did. I needed to borrow an extra set of hands to install this CPU bracket properly. I wish they had also included some extra thermal paste, as it's pretty easy to botch the pre-applied paste when installing.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks with 1150 socket

Pros: Doesn't go over 40 degrees after long gaming times!
Extremely Quiet for a cooler !

Cons: Somewhat fits 1150 like other reviews say you have to adjust it.. i was filing and cutting at this bracket for over 3 hours... Didnt work but i ending up only using 2 of the 4 holes on the bracket.. But it's secured and working like a champ !

Other Thoughts: Needs to clearly stat what it supports ! Hopefully someone from corsair reads these reviews ! Buy at your own risk ! Read reviews before buying but it DOES work with 1150 you just have to adjust.
