1 out of 5 eggsDont Bother wasting your time or money

Pros: Bass is loud.

Cons: Very heavy and tight around your ears. Flawed design with cheap plastic and the bass will eventually break/crack the plastic on the outside of headset. Adult owned and mine lasted just over a year, and thats because I babied them for that time. Sony is well aware of the defect as many customers have had the same issue but refuses to do anything about it. They are still selling them with the same issue. I called them and they told me they would not do anything for me. I spent alot of money on this headset and I will never buy another Sony product again based solely on their refusal to do anything about an issue they are well aware of. Not to mention the lack of quality in this product is ridiculous.

Other Thoughts: They say you get what you pay for but in this case just because you spend alot on a Sony product doesnt mean you will get a good quality product or near what you expect. As the the title says Dont bother wasting your time or money.

1 out of 5 eggsAwful build quality

Pros: Comfortable. Good audio quality.

Cons: The build quality if awful. Cheap plastic is used in a high-stress area that will eventually crack/snap no matter how carefully you treat the headphones. It can be band-aided with glue/zip-ties but is a serious flaw. My unit will no longer charge, which means no more wireless, bass impact (which was annoying anyway), and mic, so they're just another pair of wired headphones... held together with glue and zip-ties, that will eventually completely fall apart.

Other Thoughts: Do not purchase these. I was unaware of the build quality issues before my purchase. It wasn't until cracks appeared that I found many others with the same problems.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat headset - cheap plastic

Pros: Easy to wear for hours. Charge lasts hours. Wireless.

Cons: First headset only one ear worked.
Got replacement via Newegg and Headset is cheap plastic.

Headband broke within less than 6 months of daily use with adult care.

1 out of 5 eggsJUNK!

Pros: NONE!

Cons: First one I had to do factory reset every time I powered it on just to get it to sync! And none of the buttons and volume adjustment work! Second one SAME THING! Sony support want you to pay shipping to send it to them! Never buying Sony anything EVER again! AND NOW NEWEGG WON'T GIVE ME A REFUND!

Other Thoughts: The Sony Google TV I own is pretty useless since they quit supporting it 2 months after I bought it. And my PS4 controller lasted 3 months before it just died. Sony wouldn't help. Done with this console junk. Going back to PC.

4 out of 5 eggsBass is amazing.

Pros: Audio is vivid and great. It's bass is also crazy in my opinion. Literally vibrates with the bass boost option. The built in microphone is also very nice as well. Surprisingly does not pick up the audio around it much at all.

Cons: The only problems with this is that its actually quite heavy and tight clamping, which becomes very uncomfortable on the ears and head over time.

Other Thoughts: I actually ended up buying two of these. One back in May of 2014 and again in October of that year. In 5 months, I got a torn coil in the right ear piece causing uneven sound. So I contacted Sony since it was still under the warranty period. However they returned to me the incorrect product and would not correct this issue. Unbelievably I just decided to buy another pair because the one they sent me was such a lower quality in comparison. I take no eggs off for this though, as it's not related to the product.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat sound, some flaws

Pros: -Like the title says, it has great sound, and syncs up great to my PS4. Putting the system sound through the headset is a nice touch as well, but thankfully that's an option.
-Mic seems to be pretty clear, haven't had any complaints.

Cons: -In an attempt to be noise cancelling, it in effect does just that, including dampening of my voice. If i speak, it's rather muffled, and I'm shocked I haven't seen this complaint more.
-Short battery life. Used an old usb connection so it also charges slowly, too.
-The buttons are awkward to learn.

Other Thoughts: The 1 egg deduction is mostly for the muffled voice complaint. While the battery life is short I can't really complain too much, since there's always the mic that came with the system, which isn't awful.

The buttons, while awkward, aren't used that much, aside from the power button. The boomsound isn't really useful because feeling vibrations behind my ears isn't very appealing.

3 out of 5 eggsLove them but they are flawed...

Pros: -Excellent Sound Quality: when watching shows and movies with these I hear a lot of details I would have missed through my sound system, without waking anyone else in the house. The virtual surround is pretty good but not perfect. When Gaming I can mostly tell where the sounds are coming from.
-Universal: you can plug the dongle in to the ps3, ps4, pc and even a chromebook and it just works. You can also use a standard aux cable and use them like headphones. Or plug the dongle in to a usb charger and an aux cable from a sound source in to the dongle and you can make nearly any sound source wireless.
-General Quality: just looking at these you can tell they are good quality.
-Battery life: These will easily last through a few hours of gaming and a few more hours of movies/tv shows afterwards. If the battery does get low you can use a long mini usb cable to seamlessly keep them powered up.
-Comfort: The ear cups are very comfortable, even after several hours.

Cons: -The well-known cracking issue: I have absolutely babied my headphones. No one has touched them but me. I keep them in a safe spot on the counter when not in use and have never dropped them. Both sides just above the ear cups are cracked and on the verge of catastrophic failure. This was very dissapointing when I realized it was happening to me. I was aware of this possibility before purchase, but bought them anyway because of the great reviews. I was hoping the cracked ones were just an old design or from abuse by the users but I was wrong. Mine are in the process of being sent back to sony for repairs because luckily I noticed the cracks just as the 1 year warranty was expiring. You can reserach this issue and find where even a sony engineer recommends using galvanized wire the add strength to the area.
-Comfort: The headband is not very comfortable. The soft material is fine but there is not enough surface area there to spread the pressure out. It feels like once the soft rubber is compressed the hard plastic corners start to dig in to your skin a little. I had to modify mine with a piece of foam and fabric and can now where them indefinitely.

Other Thoughts: Overall I love the headphones. Once mine get back from repair I am going to change how I take them off and put them on and hope that they last longer. Before I used the ear cups to stretch them around my possibly larger than normal head, now I will try spreading them by grabbing the lowest points of the headband. It's too bad Sony didn't release a revised design with a better structure/material in that area but I think they have moved on. I will come back and change my review to a 5 if they fix the headband comfort and cracking issues.

-Bassimpact: I mainly game and watch movies with these, so I don't really use this feature. I suppose it could make the bass feel more intense when listening to music.

2 out of 5 eggsGood but........

Pros: Works as advertised. Great on the PS3 and saw some using it on the PS4 (They said it worked fine there too). Good sound, very comfortable, adjustable. Mostly good build, but MAJOR flaws (see cons)

Cons: Okay, I have had this headset for over a year now, going on 2 years. I take very special care of all of my products especially ones that I paid 180 USDollars for at the time. After a year and a half of use, the little clips that holds the ear cups to the actual head "half-ring" have cracked as users have said. Terrible design by Sony. I have solemnly swore to never buy any physical product that Sony makes after this. It really does make me upset that they made a great headset with such a large flaw. Thanks for reading. Hope you don't make the same mistake I did with these which was buying them.

Other Thoughts: Could have been better, but just trash in the end. I hate having to buy a new headset year after year. You can find a tutorial on YouTube that will show you how to use zip-ties to keep the ends from moving any more so they don't snap off.

2 out of 5 eggsNot so great headset that was updated

Pros: These have good sound over the original Sony Playstation headset. Good bass. Mulitple sound mounds. Can run it wirelessly or plug in the 3.5mm cable for a wired connection to p.c. or phone. Any audio source really.

Cons: These have stopped pairing with the included dongle. I have done multiple resets. I have let the battery die. Recharged. Left them turned on while I went to work, would not pair ever again. I have to leave them plugged into my PS4 remote to have any kind of sound from them. Only way I can use them with a console now. Only reason to give them 2 stars, is because they function as a wired headset still. This new "updated" version of the Pulse elite lasted less than my first pair of Pulse elites.

Other Thoughts: Sony got rid of the 3.5mm jack on the dongle, so now can not plug t.v. into it and listen to that anymore. Why are we still messing with dongles? Its 2014 Sony, almost 2015.
