4 out of 5 eggsPretty good card for the price.

Pros: This is a great card for the price I paid for it. Got it using the discount code that dropped the price down a bit. Used this card to upgrade from an R7 240 that I got with a bundle off of this site, have been mostly pleased with my purchase thus far.

Cons: The only main con I have with this card is that whenever I am playing some video games I start to get artifacts and screen errors, when I attempt to run a Unigine Valley benchmark I get 3 scenes into the benchmark before my screen starts "tearing" then all i get is a screen filled with one solid color with lines going up and down the picture without overclocking the card. Could just be an issue with the card I got, but I can run most games without seeing that issue. Had to take away an egg simply because of those issues due to me having to restart my computer because of it which can be pretty frustrating at times.

Other Thoughts: Card looks really good if I must say so myself, I've never owned many "higher end" computer components since I'm fairly new at building computers. But I did a bit of research when It came to buying my new video card. I would recommend this card to someone looking for a slightly cheaper R9 270 and for one that can fit into smaller computer cases.

1 out of 5 eggsLess than satisfied

Pros: When it worked it was a quiet and ran games well
Good value for the power you get if working

Cons: Overview just for clarify.

System specs:
Corsair 700 watt GS700 power supply
Corsair Carbide 500R case
Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 Mobo
Creative XIFI HD audio
Running a SSD and 2 1tb HDD in RAID

System is sitting on the outside of my desk in the open
System has more than enough power.
More than enough Airflow.
Stable Motherboard.

Issues:

Card I got from Newegg lasted about 3 months before it died. When it died I had a screen with 3 regions with various color bar patterns.
Put in my old GPU, old gpu runs fine
RMA'd with Powercolor, had to pay $20 for shipping.

Installed the new card, 5 minutes under load in Skyrim and the whole system crashes. No BSOD is just shuts down.
-Cleaned up all Video card drivers
-Updated motherboard bios
-Updated all my system drivers
Still the same issue, system crashes under load after 5 minutes of playing Skyrim.
Removed the card, re seated the card.
Same issue.
Put in my old GPU HP Geforce 260, runs fine under load.

Other Thoughts: Now here are the possibilities. Either my system keeps eating cards or the cards I got are faulty. Nothing else on my 2 year old system has ever died and my old GPU lasted 2 years on this rig, 1 on my past rig and 1 year on my brothers rig and it's still working. Now I need to process another RMA and it is going to cost me $20 in shipping. This budget GPU is starting to look really expensive and I have no guarantees the new card will work any better. Starting to question buying Powercolor and buying a video card online. Had I purchased it locally I could of used my local laws to force the seller to handle the RMA and all associated costs.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

This is Raymond from PowerColor. We apologize for the issue that you are faced with. If you should have any issue with the RMA'ed card, please email me at Raymond.Hsu@powercolor.com.

Best Regards,
Raymond

5 out of 5 eggsGood card, good price.

Pros: - Price
- Speed
- Size

Cons: Heat shield was a bit much for my motherboard. But that could just be my motherboard's design.

Other Thoughts: Great value for the price. Works like a charm.

5 out of 5 eggsAXR9 270 WOW!!!

Pros: A Heck of a lot faster than my old XFX HD4850. ENB enabled Skyrim never looked so fluid and awesome looking. My frame rates literally doubled when I switched from High to Ultra settings at 1680x1090.

Cons: Not an X version.

Other Thoughts: Needed new video card after upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1. Windows 8.1 uses WDDM drivers for that ancient HD4850. And with Windows 7 I couldn't use past 12.6 AMD catalyst. So.... $145 later. I am now enjoying gaming like I have never seen before with the R9 270. Wish my power supply would of handled an R9 270X.

5 out of 5 eggsso far so good

Pros: Finally, a card that works. The last 3 or so ATI cards I have had went bad in some way. This is the first card in what must be a year now, that doesn't give me artifacts or BSOD randomly. It's also pretty quiet, enough so that I compelled to find an aftermarket cooling solution. It has an enormous 5 heatpipe cooler with 2 fans which has to comprise a fair amount of the value.

Cons: Quiet, but could be quieter. This is probably the largest card I've ever had, due in no small part to the cooling. I'm sure the fans could be completely off and it would still maintain a temp of 80 or less at idle. Sadly, the fans will not go below 20%, which is about 1350RPM, which makes them audible. 32 degrees at idle in a 26 degree room,

Also takes 2 6 pin power plugs.

Other Thoughts: I will have to ask them about a BIOS update.

5 out of 5 eggsSeems to be just fine

Pros: My card is actually working unlike for some others. I upgraded from a Sapphire Radeon 6870 1 GB which is actually almost an inch longer than this card. I really don't do much PC gaming anymore but for a cost of $123 if I get the rebate back, should be a worthy upgrade to a card that is 2 generations older.
The only test I ran was the Unigine Valley Benchmark. At 1920x1080 2x AA High, it was running at a steady 30 FPS. With the older Radeon 6870, it would run at only 24-25 FPS at the same settings.

Cons: When I first installed the card, I booted up and just got a blank screen. I had to power down, turn the onboard video on, reboot, and then I got something to pop-up on the screen. I had to completely re-install AMD Catalyst software because it didn't automatically detect that I swapped out a Radeon 6870 for a Radeon R9 270 even though they both use the exact same driver software.

Other Thoughts: It was the last piece of hardware to upgrade in my current PC as I already have an i7-4770k cpu, a Z87 board, 16 Gb of Ram, and a 240 GB SSD.

2 out of 5 eggsIt's nice, but it'd be better if it worked.

Pros: It's a nice card and all, two fans, decent price.
Seems high quality

Cons: Doesn't work. My monitor won't connect to it through the VGA cable connected to the GPU through the DVI converter, and I know that it's plugged in correctly on either side. Now I'm down $180, and more considering my build won't function without a GPU.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

This is Raymond from PowerColor, we apologize for the issue that you are faced with. Please contact me at Raymond.Hsu@powercolor.com and we can troubleshoot the card.

Best Regards,

2 out of 5 eggsIt works well when it isn't crashing

Pros: When it works it works well
Doesn't break 65 C stays cool

Cons: When running games (even on lowest settings) computer will crash and I get a solid color screen (usually gray or tan) with vertical lines, forcing me to manually restart. It's a major headache and has been happening since I got it.

Other Thoughts: I've updated the Bios, upgraded the PSU, augmented airflow, disabled overclocking, tried different DVI cables, and different PCI slots on the Motherboard and nothing has seemed to fix the issue.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

This is Raymond from PowerColor. We apologize for the issue that you are faced with. It sounds like the card is bad, please submit a RMA and we will get you a replacement.

Best Regards,
Raymond

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good Card

Pros: Relatively inexpensive, runs cool and quiet. I can play World of Tanks at max settings.

Cons: None thusfar.

Other Thoughts: I'm running Win8.1 which went nutso a few weeks after I installed this card. I started getting a Black Screen of death. I had Newegg replace the card which they did, but the new card did the same thing. Win8.1 had for some reason started trying to use my old Nvidia drivers again. Once I got that sorted, it has been running fine again.

This is my first AMD video card - I'd been using Nvidia since 2002 (GeForce 4 Ti) and 3dfx before that. I'm very happy with this card.

3 out of 5 eggsI bet I'd love it if it worked.

Pros: Great price for a decently powered card. Was going to use it to replace my aging 6850 in my theater PC.

Cons: DOA. Not Neweggs fault of course, and normally I wouldn't write a review for a DOA product BUT my friend ordered one the same day and his was also DOA. There seems to be a problem with some of these cards, so you might want to look elsewhere.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,
