2 out of 5 eggsWorks, but noisy.

Pros: Works out of the box.

Cons: Once I was booted into Windows, I immediately started hearing what sounds like electrical arcing. This is different than coil buzzing. I thought it might be something interfering with a fan, but after stopping each fan with my finger, I could rule that out.

The MB seems to work fine. There is no smoke or burned electrical smell, but the noise is alarming and distracting. If I cannot find the cause and fix it, I will be RMAing the board.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please turn the power off, clear the CMOS.
Load the BIOS default.
Check the noise is from speaker or other components or specific mainboard's area.

1 out of 5 eggsNo support whatsoever

Pros: None

Cons: There is absolutely no support for this board. The manufacturer will respond to poor reviews stating "contact us at http://www.ASRock.com/Support/tsd.asp, We will assist you shortly." but they don't respond to you!! Don't be fooled by the claim of a warranty. The warranty is worthless since they won't respond to customer issues.

Other Thoughts: Bottom line is you are taking a huge chance buying this board - there is no support or warranty from the manufacturer.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board with only one flaw

Pros: Plenty of overclocking headroom, lots of space, support for a really crazy amount of ram for the am3+ socket. Easy to use bios, auto overclocking if you are feeling lazy or do not really understand how the multipliers work. Able to use any FX series chip and make them shine. Good spacing for crossfire or an sli setup.

Cons: Only true con is the fact that the pci-e slots are still 2.0. And some might dislike the color scheme.

1 out of 5 eggsUnstable

Pros: Looks good on paper.

Cons: Motherboard is unstable. Absolutely no support from ASRock. Worthless 3 year warranty since no one at ASRock will respond to you.

Other Thoughts: I have built many computers in my lifetime and this build has been by far the worst experience. This board is extremely sensitive and unstable. My computer will just suddenly shutdown with no warning. If I'm lucky it will restart after trying trying to reboot about 5 times. If I'm not so lucky Dr. Debug will give me code 99, which is supposedly an issue with PCI-E. I know it's not an issue with the graphics cards since I tried 3 different graphics cards, and try every PCI slot. Still no luck, still code 99. Reset CMOS, still code 99. The only thing that seems to work is to unplug the computer, remove the battery, reset CMOS and let it sit for about an hour. Try again and suddenly it boots. This has happened 3 times now in 3 days (not counting the times it just suddenly shuts down and I'm able to reboot after several attempts).

Unfortunately, I did not complete this build right away since I bought parts as I could afford them, and now I am outside Newegg's return policy. Oh well, the board comes with a 3 year warranty, right? Apparently not since no one at ASRock will respond to me. From what I can tell ASRock support is completely non-existent.

Lesson learned, never again ASRock!

Manufacturer Response:

Pros: looks good on the box....

Cons: Hi Im doing a new build, with the part below all brand new, after putting everything together it didnt boot so I removed one of the memory cards and it did boot, but now when it start the PC I get these multiple errors on the motherboard it starts giving me codes 19 and C5 and it goes from 19 to C5 about 5 times then, 36, 78, C7, 70, 99, and then it stays on D6. I have tried removing one of the two memory cards, changed the Video Card to an old one I have, I have cleared the CMOS, checked the CPU and nothing, I wish I didn't have to give a bad review but I just running out of options...

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

Thank you for your purchase and review.
Please load the BIOS default.
Allow better air circulation inside the chassis including around VRM area to avoid overheating.
If using 125w or 220w CPU, please install a CPU cooler with a top-down blowing design or install chassis fan top of VRM area.

5 out of 5 eggsOwned it forever

Pros: Easy overclock
LLC varies little (+-.016v) best i have found for AM3+
Owned since launch

Paired with Fx6300 Since this board was realeased day 1. Overclocked well 5ghz @1.46v, after chip break in i have settled into 4.5ghz @ 1.37

Bios are easily updated if your not to savy in that department. Board keeps cool and overclocks well.

Cons: UEFI Bios can be a little wonky to get use to, it is also my first board that had it when i purchased it. Still used the keyboard.

Other Thoughts: really have been thinking of picking up a new chip for this board , but constantly talk myself out of it. Probably pick up a FX9xxx to daily , some will like the extra power over fx6xxx, i would how ever like to pick up a 4 core to try and push.

side note i never really noticed the lack of Cpu speed i have until i paired it with a GTX980 a few weeks ago now Chip is the weak link. GREAT BOARD I Spent much more money and would again.

1 out of 5 eggsUnfortunately not this board.

Pros: The SATA connections, BIOS access through a mouse, easy BIOS navigation, speed through which my photography programs performed.

Cons: Unfortunately the USB had a lot of random screen freezes. The RAM sticks were tested with Memtest individually for 4 hours at a time. They were also tested together, all with no problems. H2testw showed a bad PCI IDE. Those things happen. The tests were run during and after multiple OS installs. As long as I didn't have to connect anything to the USB everything worked great. I loved the speed with Photoshop and Lightroom. Unfortunately, though, I have to connect to a USB connection to get my photography into the computer. I can't speak for gaming as I'm not a gamer.

Other Thoughts: I'll get an RMA started and take it from there. I do like the board and hopefully we'll be in business with the next board. I tried to be as concise as I could with my review. Too many reviews where it was stated "handles everything I throw at it" or "runs like a champ". That tells people absolutely nothing. Please tell people what your "throwing at it" so they have an idea.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize that you having difficulty with USB ports.
Please turn the power off, clear the CMOS.
Load the BIOS default.
Test with another USB devices or keyboard and mouse to those USB ports to check if the symptom still occurs.
