5 out of 5 eggsAmazing card

Pros: Runs cool. Runs quiet, Well built, great design. Performs like a beast.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I started off with a GTX 970 which was nothing but a pain to use. That card had all sorts of issues. Very frustating experience for sure.

I decided I would grab a GTX 980 instead of another GTX 970 and boy am I glad I did. This thing out of the box blows away my overclocked GTX 970 and this Zotac has room for it's own overclocking. It has handled every game I throw at it without issue. Archeage, Rust, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, COD: Ghost, Watch Dogs, and Metro 2033. It outperforms my GTX 780 easily as well. Runs cooler and uses less power. I'm well satisfied with this card and you will be too. Some people think the GTX 970 is the way to go due to cost and I would agree to a point but if you are going to buy two GTX 970's then I'd consider one GTX 980 instead. Not only will you save some money but you get one great card that will work 100% of the time compared to two good cards that sometimes won't be utilized to their fullestes due to no SLI support of shoddy support at that. I have owned several CF and SLI setups and swore I would not waste my time with that again. One good card. The GTX 980 is no slouch with today's games. And if you really like SLI then just wait awhile and buy a second 980 later.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Love the looks. It has a nice GEFORCE GTX green led on the side. Runs Shadow of Mordor or any game for that matter smoothly and perfectly.
Runs quiet, Can't necessarily hear the fans, my cpu is watercooled so it definitely runs quiet.
Comes with a few nice programs to monitor Graphics card and i believe overclocking, though i haven't gone into the details YET. Updates will be included eventually.

Cons: Quite heavy so you might want to get a very nice mobo to handle multiple 980s.
Very long, mini cases won't be able to handle this card.
It does indeed run at pretty high temperatures when benchmarked. Runs at 52 degrees C from normal use, and upto 80 degrees C when benchmarked. Any overclocking WILL require at LEAST a non-slim dual 120+mm radiator watercooled.

Other Thoughts: Get it. Upon registration of the card, there is a lifetime warranty. This beats any other company's warranty and is only equaled by evga.

2 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Should be a rockin' card.

Cons: Worked for a bit, then seemed to exhibit heat problems (glittering pixels, crashes, etc.) RMA'd it. Hopefully it's a 1-off problem.

2 out of 5 eggsAs of right now not happy.

Pros: frames

Cons: The card is locked at 1.05v regardless what I'm doing and the clock speed is cranked to 1126 when im not doing anything resulting in a 45c idle temperature.temperature. Ive tried rolling back drivers and both 314.11 and .16 I removed afterburner and looked in the settings to change things around but the car still wont budge.thinking about rma'ing unless a fix comes up..to make it worse i sent an email to Zotac's support and was sent a link to a website that doesn't even exist.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Solid video card, new GTX 9XX series cards are capable of recording via shadowplay in 4k. I have been able to record games at 4k without issue now. SOOOOO happy, I am ordering a second one! And will be upgrading to a gsync capable monitor with that comes out.

Cons: none? Although I heard this won't be the flagship for very long. Likley a GTX 980 Ti or Titan II esq card coming out very soon. Performance wise, it's not all that much better than a 780 Ti. HOWEVER the massive changes in how it works in terms of memory usage make it the upgrade worth it.(I basically bought it just to record in 4k)

5 out of 5 eggsPurrs like a crazed rabid tiger

Pros: Solid reference card from Zotac. Never owned a Zotac card before, but so far so good. I appreciate that they've left off any sort of logo, and just let the GTX 980 speak for itself. Quiet too. Overall very happy.

Cons: Zotac only offers a 2 yr waranty, and compared to EVGA, Gigabyte, and Asus who offer 3 yrs on the exact same card for the exact same price, you can get more security with the other guys. But hey, if you need the card now, it's the only one in stock.
