3 out of 5 eggsLoud Under Load

Pros: low power consumption
fast compared to other cards in price range

Cons: very loud under load; it's very distracting when playing games (i havent seen it happen during movies)

Other Thoughts: while idle, the noise is still obvious, but bearable

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy!

Pros: Great price - $90 with rebate.
It's a 5750 - indescribably better than my ancient
AGP video card.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This was a really great buy - can't beat a 5750 for $90.
I've had 0 problems with the card (though I've only had
it less than a month). My first foray into ATI video cards,
hopefully it'll keep working.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for my Media Center PC!

Pros: Runs cool and quiet in a HTPC. Relatively low power consumption for its specs. It allows me to run a 56” HDTV and a 23” monitor displays at max resolution (1920x1080), something a HD4550-1gb or a HD4670-1gb would not do. It also has more hardware acceleration units than those cards - it speeds up transcoding of movies ~25% over the 4550.
The wing may look silly, but I left the slot below the card open and the wing directs warm air right out!

Cons: Catalyst Control Center bombs out when started it unless it’s “Run as Administrator”. Have to adjust the scaling on the HDTV desktop in CCC to get rid of black bars around the edges. Do it once and it stays.

Other Thoughts: Not using it for gaming at all. You may think this card is overkill for HTPC, but I don’t because it fixes my two-display issues. I am using this in a Windows 7 Media Center HTPC located in a utility room behind the wall from the HDTV. Since getting this card, I am no longer having any HDMI “handshaking” issues. When I turn on the HDTV and switch to the right input, the Win 7 desktop or Media Center is always right there; no more switching monitors in CCC to get max resolution on the HTPC, so now the wife and kids can use it too. Maybe that’s actually a con…..

3 out of 5 eggsDoesn't work as well as the 5670 it replaced

Pros: Runs cool and relatively quiet.
Comes with HMDI -> DVI connector, 6 pin power connector, and a crossfire connector.
Card seems to play Dragon Age: Origins ok.

Cons: Playing Borderlands is choppy, sometimes to the point of being unplayable. Driver updates seemed to help somewhat, but still not playing like it should.
Newegg dropped the price by $15 just after I purchased the card.
This item is not returnable, only can be returned for replacement. Wish I had paid more attention to that when choosing which 5750 to buy.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to put a discrete graphics card into my ASUS desktop in order to play newish games at modest settings. The current game I wanted to play is Borderlands. I had purchased a XFX HD 5670 to put in and see how it went. It performed well and I was happy with it. I decided to look online for better prices since I purchased it in the store, which is when I decided I should upgrade to the HD 5750 for a lower price.

The only problem is that for whatever reason, the 5750 is not playing Borderlands as well as the 5670 did. Clearly there is something wrong, but I don't know if the particular card I got has a problem or if the 5750 just does not play nice with the rest of my system, or if it is something else entirely.

If it were not for the non-refundable purchase, I would be returning this and keeping my 5670. I don't really want to go through the pain of RMAing the card just to find out the replacement isn't any better, especially since there is a $20 rebate I need to file.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Car

Pros: All together this card has decent performance. More than I certainly expected. The 5750 can tackle video games quite well and is a good start for entry level gaming rigs.

Cons: It's a wee bit loud

Other Thoughts: Just a stone toss away from a 5770, so if you a couple extra dollars laying around I would suggest you buy the 5770 over this card.

5 out of 5 eggsGood enough

Pros: Its very cheap, it stays below 60C, I can play games like RE5 with full details and maintain a good frame rate. Its also somewhat small.

Cons: When I opened the box, the back of the card almost looked dirty. The PCB sort of looked scuffed and smudged. Its hard to describe, but it isn't a significant problem to me since the card actually works perfectly fine. Besides, the card is black, so its hard to notice. I'm also not fond of the car look, but thankfully the card faces down so I can't see it.

This doesn't perform as good as advertised but I haven't overclocked it yet, and considering the temperatures I'm getting, I have plenty of room for it.

CCC is incredibly bloated and somewhat glitchy.

Other Thoughts: I'd prefer the power connector to be on the side of the card, not the top, but I don't really care that much. I got this card because its capable of being just as powerful as the 5770 for a lower price, its not as power consuming as the HD58xx+ series, and its significantly cheaper. I'm not sure how this compared to the nvidia competition but I'd say the price is fair and worth getting.

I didn't even bother putting in either of the discs it came with.

2 out of 5 eggsDead after 2 months

Pros: Decent price for performance.

Cons: Only lasted 2 months then quit on me. I never overclocked it at all. Cannot return to Newegg because I don't have the packaging.

Other Thoughts: RMA to manufacturer
