Categories > VGA Cooling > ARCTIC COOLING > ARCTIC Accelero Hybrid II-120, Liquid/Air Combo Extreme Cooling for Hi-Performance nVidia/AMD VGA

Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1 Bring Back Original Design
Pros: I am an owner of the original Arctic Accelero Hybrid design which I believe has to be far superior to this design. I have never owned this new design but want to give it a review because it has an obvious design problem, I want people to be aware of, and to encourage Arctic to return to their previous design . The original design was awesome. Since I purchased it several years ago I have installed it on 3 separate video cards and it has yet to fail me. It provides awesome cooling and is nearly silent. It fits most modern cards and provides far better cooling for all components than any air cooler can.
Cons: The problem with this design is it provides no way to cool the VRam or voltage regulators what so ever. All it has is a passive heatsink backplate installed on the wrong side of the card. Its simply impossible for a backplate to provide adequate cooling, given that it makes no direct contact with the components. To compound this problem even further there is no fan to move the hot air away from the components. So the VRAM and voltage regulators on your card are going to be air cooled in the purest sense (no heatsink), and not even have a fan to provide cool air! Contrast this to the previous design, which had aluminum heatsinks and a fan mounted in a sheath around the card to move cool air across those heatsinks. That is a far superior design.

Another problem with the current design is that since the backplate heatsink is on wrong side of the card, the card will now occupy at least 3 PCI slots if not more.
Other Thoughts: It seems Arctic decided to dumb down the design of this cooler to make for a very simple installation. I admit the old design did require a difficult installation process, especially when it came to attaching heat-sinks to the voltage regulators. But this new design is simply not a viable solution. I think many people who are buying this new design don't realize that VRAM and voltage regulators get extremely hot and need to be cooled just as much as the GPU does, this is compounded by the fact that most cards don't provide a means for monitoring the VRAM or V-reg components, so most people won't realize those components are overheating until its too late. I strongly advise anyone who buys this new design to also purchase some copper or aluminum 10-15mm heatsinks for the VRAM on your card. And 6mm or smaller heatsinks for the voltage regulators (VRM). Also a fan to blow directly on the heatsinks is a good idea. Be careful when installing the heatsinks not to bridge electric terminals between components, especially on the VRM. Put down some masking tape around the components before attaching the heatsinks to help with this. Also remember these heatsinks will be hanging upside down once the card is installed in the computer so make sure they are securely attached. I recommend aluminum heat sinks as they are lighter and will stay attached more easily.

Categories > VGA Cooling > ARCTIC COOLING > ARCTIC Accelero TT 690 VGA Cooler - GTX 690, Dual Quiet 120mm PWM Fans, Extreme Cooling

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Artic GTX 690 Cooler
Pros: This cooler does as advertised. With the original cooler my card would run in the low 80's under load. With the Artic cooler it runs in the high 60's to low 70's. The best part for me since I like a silent system is how quiet the cooler is. No more having to listen to the stock cooler scream under load while gaming.
Cons: Not really a con, but the installation process is very tedious. As others have said, cut the thermal pads to fit rather than place the long strips down.
Other Thoughts: This cooler transformed my awesome looking card into a big, ugly beast. But this thing does work well. Like in other reviews, it dumps a lot of heat into your case, so it must be well ventilated. With my side panel off my Corsair Air 240, this thing will keep my computer room warm this winter while under load. So far very pleased.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 ARCTIC Accelero L2 Plus VGA Cooler - nVidia & AMD, 92mm Efficient PWM Fan, SLI/CrossFire
Pros: lowered idle temps by 10 degrees and 30 degrees Celsius when playing Diablo 3...(CPUID HWMonitor running in the background)...able to overclock HD 6670 to maximum settings ...Fan is nearly silent when running at twelve volts...straight forward install.
Cons: had to scrape the pre-applied thermal paste off it was way too much for the tiny chip I needed to cover half a grain of rice of MX-4 was all I needed. takes an hour for the adhesive to cure...have to clean the VRMs with an eraser or the adhesive will not hold at all...
Other Thoughts: have Arctic Coolers on several CPU's so I knew this was going to be good but I didn't expect this... You can also download the instructions from the Arctic Cooler website before you buy... so you know what you're getting into... if You have a card this will fit on (there are many) don't even hesitate it's on sale at 5% off right now and I got $4.00 off on the MX-4....

Pros: I needed a replacement fan for one of my GPU. I have a dual setup. This one is low profile and works very well. I am OC and so far it is very quite and working without a hitch.
Cons: No problem so far.

Categories > VGA Cooling > NZXT > NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4 NZXT needs better QA
Pros: Great solution for watercooling a non-reference card that also can't get a water block for.
Easy installation.
Cons: The 2nd G10 I ordered came with a part that should never have made it past QA. There are 4 long screws that mount an AIO block to the GPU itself. One of the screws don't have any threads.
Other Thoughts: I bought 2 of these for my 780 SLI setup. The first didn't have any issues and until the RMA is finished, I'm reduced to a single card. Not a ginormous deal I suppose but it's a little irritating.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 This is a great aftermarket GPU cooler
Pros: This is a great aftermarket GPU cooler. I put this on a radeon hd 6770.
Overclocked to 950mhz, this card on load only hits 50 degrees Celsius. The 120mm fan runs very quiet and pushes a lot of air onto the heat sink.
Cons: The only con I would have is the extra weight the cooler gives the GPU.
Other Thoughts: This is a great cooler for the money.

Categories > VGA Cooling > Logisys Computer > LOGISYS Computer VC50 V50 VGA Cooler

Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1 Logisys VGA Cooler-V50
Pros: It Spins, and sort of quiet. Other than that, none!
Cons: This VGA Cooler, Logisys V50, "DOES NOT FIT NVIDIA GEE FORCE'S 7600GS AGP Card. It's at least a 1/2 too short to fit the AGP Push-Pin Holes. The whole this is not even close to fitting my NVidia 7600GS AGP Card. So even though I got free shipping, it was still a waste of money.
Other Thoughts: Not worth sending back. Logisys needs to check their Specs on what fits what. I just flushed $9. buying this VGA Fan. Like I said, not worth sending back. Now my Desktop is down for another week thanks to the alleged Logisys Techs. I'm not going to drill holes in my AGP Card to make this tiny fan fit. Very unhappy with Logisys, and Newegg for not double checking Compatibility!

Categories > VGA Cooling > ARCTIC COOLING > ARCTIC Accelero L2 Plus VGA Cooler - nVidia & AMD, 92mm Efficient PWM Fan, SLI/CrossFire

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Excellent for Radeon 6750
Pros: Good price, rescued Radeon 6750 with dead fan. Very Quiet, but not Silent.
Cons: A certain level of technical knowledge is necessary to use this product. Because the cooler is usable on such a wide range of products carefully studying the parts drawings and instructions, and test fitting is necessary. I needed to remove the pre-applied thermal grease to go through the test fitting process, and reapply it for final assembly. All needed parts were included.
Other Thoughts: The final result of using this product is excellent. No eggs should be deducted for having to use your brain.

Cons: This was listed as being compatible with the Corsair H50 water cooler. IT MOST DEFINITELY IS NOT! I have the H50 with copper plate and it is not compatible and will NOT fit with the bracket. Thanks for wasting my time and money!
