1 out of 5 eggsBreaks quickly

Pros: Exactly what you'd expect from an official 360 controller. Wireless sounds nice in theory. Seems efficient in terms of battery use. Good range.

Cons: I chose to ignore all the people who were saying the wireless receiver included was a piece of garbage and that was a big mistake. I was just playing a game yesterday, and the receiver died totally out of the blue. I'm not sure if this is driver or hardware, but now I can't get the device to recognize at all when I plug it in. Even trying to manually force the drivers on the unknown device yields no rewards. The receiver was plugged into the back of my system, where nobody could get to it. The cord is NEVER moved, and STILL it died. Why didn't they just make these bluetooth or some other standard?

Other Thoughts: It was a mistake to buy this. I had really hoped the complaints about the poor quality of the receiver were just people talking smack but it is absolutely not. If this horribly low-quality component breaks, your controller effectively becomes a paper weight. Microsoft can sure do better.

2 out of 5 eggsCheck where you buy from

Pros: - Controller appears to be legit
- Comfortable grip

Cons: - Wireless Receiver appears counterfeit (misspellings in packaging)
- Receiver is not detected on Win 7 64-bit correctly
- Install CD setup software unusable as it is "Blocked by Microsoft" due to "compatibility issues"
- Controller box says it's for sale in Taiwan (maybe why having issues on USA OS install)

Other Thoughts: I was looking for a wireless controller for my HTPC running Windows Media Center and Plex. Thought this would be good to use and even some gaming on Steam. Unfortunately, I've been fighting with getting this setup for the past hour with little luck. When the controller is occasionally detected during pairing, it is picked up as a headset and the driver install fails. I'll keep working on it, but for a supposed Microsoft product out of the box and on a Windows 7 platform to have so many installation issues, I'm not exactly loving my purchase.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat controller, beware who you buy from.

Pros: Xbox 360 controllers are the most supported gamepads in PC gaming.
Fairly ergonomic design.
Wireless freedom.

Cons: Could have better battery life.

Other Thoughts: I own 5 of these sets, and the most recent was purchased through newegg market vendor "Funtech" which is based out of china. The controller I received is definitely a Chinese clone. Given it is a very good copy, but its not the official MS product I though I was ordering. Nonetheless, the wireless receiver was detected immediately by my PC and aside from a few rough spots around the edge of the controller its a near perfect replica.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat controller

Pros: Well made and sturdy. Connected right up with windows 7 X64 without need of installing drivers. If you want a controller that will last u years this is the one to get. Will connect to PC and to an Xbox 360 so if u own both systems its a win.

Cons: Not much of a con. Cannot turned off manually without removing the batteries. Other then that none.

5 out of 5 eggsTwo Years Later: Still Working Fawlessly

Pros: This controller supports more PC games then any other controller for PC. I would highly recommend it, I have been using it nearly two years without problems what's so ever.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Don't listen to the guy below. This controller works with Windows 7 extremely well. I have been running it on Windows 7 Pro & Home - 64 bit for nearly two years. If you can't get the software from a disc, you can always download it online within seconds, it's free.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: - Works with the PC and Xbox 360
- Compatible with Windows 7 64-bit and Fedora 22 64-bit
- Wireless
- Very mundane Xbox controller (no frizzes or frills, decals, etc.)
- Black finish and color
- 2x AA batteries last for several hours (>18) of continuous playtime

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The dead zone for the two joysticks can be a bit troublesome in some games and applications. You can notice it in Euro Truck Simulator 2 and Steam Big Picture Mode for example, but in Grand Theft Auto 5 it's unnoticeable (probably because GTA5 PC is a port from the console version of the game, and consoles use controllers more commonly than full keyboards).

5 out of 5 eggsBest controller for Windows

Pros: Works perfectly, solid, official USB receiver instead of shoddy ones being sold all over the internet.

360 controller is well known by now, so won't go into details, but works flawlessly for my PC couch gaming sessions; have four connected to the USB dongle for gaming parties. All still work well, regardless of gaming rage and/or beer flying all over the place after a well-earned victory in Nidhogg.

Cons: A little more expensive than Internet knock offs, but well worth it.
