5 out of 5 eggsWorks well with Elite: Dangerous game

Pros: Works great with Elite: Dangerous, but you do need to set small "dead zones", otherwise your ship drifts slightly while simply holding the joystick comfortably. That's not a big deal, most games have adjustable dead zones.

Cons: It would be nice if there was a some sort of tactile feedback when the throttle is at 50%, which is dead-stop (acceleration = 0). I set a somewhat larger dead zone for the throttle to compensate. Elite has a lot of commands; I wish there were more buttons. I fixed that by mapping commands to Ctrl and Shift+Joystick buttons. I also bought a FS3-P USB Triple Foot Switch Pedal Control, so I don't need to use the keyboard for standard actions in Elite. This combo works well for me.

Other Thoughts: I've had it about 6 weeks now and haven't run into any problems. This joystick is a good value, compared to other more expensive controllers.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat, if your right handed

Pros: Its a good joy stick, the Z axis rotation is a great feature for people without pedals.

Cons: Its right handed. My old Logitech Attack 3 was ambidextrous. I have a hard time using the mouse as a free look and trying to use my left hand on the stick. It makes flight sims really hard because you need both hands for precise free look and controls. Whats the point of making a joystick with hotkeys to reduce keyboard use if you can't even use the mouse anyways?

5 out of 5 eggsNice joystick that won't deflate your wallet

Pros: Easy to set up
Over a year of heavy use and it's still like new
Yeah, there are better joysticks out there but none as good at this price.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This joystick get's used a lot by me and my nephew. We like pilot sims and space sims. Still working great. Why spend more?

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than I expected

Pros: More solid feel than I thought it would be. My last joystick was a really old MS Sidewinder that needed a game port. I have a new rig that needed a USB port joystick. I used it for a few hours last night and it worked great. I also like the ability to reprogram the buttons using the Logitech software. Easy to use and setup. Definitely recommend.

Cons: For the first time ever, I had a delay on shipping. It took over 2 business days from the time Newegg reported the stick shipped to when FedEx actually showed it in their possession. Even with that, still got it almost on time. Not taking an egg off for that.

Other Thoughts: The only thing I wish it has as the ability to adjust the tension on the spring. After about 2 hours of yanking and banking on it, it left my wrist the slightest bit tender...then again, I haven't used a joystick in a while.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: Plug and Play, Grip is very nice, Most buttons are well located,

Cons: Don't like button under thumb as I tend to press it when rotating stick. tends to slide around on smooth surface. I use self-adhesive Velcro to hold in place.

Other Thoughts: Extra buttons and Throttle location could have been better thought out. Despite cons I am actually very pleased with the stick. Own many Logitech items and never been unhappy with them.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent joystick

Pros: Well this was to be a "replacement" joystick for my Extreme 3D Pro that I had been using regularly for over 10 years. I thought the buttons had worn out because WarBirds had a problem assigning functions for two buttons. When the new 3D pro arrived it was tighter than my veteran 3D pro but exhibited the same problem in the game. Started thinking the problem was elsewhere and checked some files in the game. Didn't come up with anything so I erased the game from my disk and reloaded a new download. Well, well both joysticks worked perfect again. I was a happy camper! So, I keep my veteran 3D Pro with the computer I use regularly in the game and took the new one to work for my computer there. Don't worry bosses I own the business. (-:

Cons: I have no cons to mention..

Other Thoughts: You should consider this joystick if you are in the market. Don't let the reasonable low price cloud your decision about the quality. This is a very high quality computer accessory for gaming.

4 out of 5 eggsGood beginner/casual stick.

Pros: Good stick height - a little tall for my hands but I can still reach all the buttons with relative ease. Great sensitivity, great resistance, and no built-in dead zone (though this could also be a Con depending on the person). Throttle feels nice too, however I never used it due to the positioning.

Cons: Numbered buttons on the base are cheap and can stick after a short time. Stick is slightly loose while centered and quickly becomes worse the more it's used - getting a perfect center eventually becomes a chore. This can be "fixed" by adjusting dead zones in your game or software, but you'll lose sensitivity.

Other Thoughts: This stick served me well for a few months in Elite Dangerous. However, as my skill level increases, I notice more and more the QC shortfalls of this stick. I have since moved on to an entry level HOTAS by Thrustmaster and haven't looked back.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: A proper stick for proper stick-and-throttle games. Massive overkill for Lucasarts' X-wing games. Fast and annoying ships became very much easier to swat down over an Xbox gamepad.
Works out-of-the-box in Linux/DOSBox and Windows.

Cons: Stiffness not adjustable.

Other Thoughts: Right-handed.
Stiff. If you are a really skinny nerd and don't work out at all, this stick won't offer very good precision: the strength in your arm is a big part of how precisely you can fly and aim with this thing.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid joystick

Pros: Solid feel for a joystick.

Plenty of Macro buttons on joystick whether you are playing with the joystick alone or with a keyboard.

Cons: Not a fan of the "square" base axis when you rotate the joystick around.. I much prefer a "circle" base axis.

Joystick is a bit on the larger side for me (particularly the base), but necessary to provide stability for the joystick.

Other Thoughts: I like this joystick a lot, especially considering this is my first joystick ever. There are plenty of things to like and hate about it. I personally would enjoy a simpler, smaller, but stronger joystick since I prefer to play on keyboard and stick, but overall, a good choice for both longtime users and new users.
