Long-lived Productivity
State-of-the-art optical sensors provide the smoothest tracking on most work surfaces. Since there are no moving parts, optical mice require less maintenance and will outlast traditional ball-base mice.

Comfort and Convenience
The contoured shape is designed for user comfort, and the scroll wheel allows easy navigation of large documents and websites in all common applications.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent So Far

Pros: Very responsive
Precise
Quick Switch button

Cons: Smaller than I thought, but all mice are small for my XL hands.

Other Thoughts: This mouse is not normally sold as a single item (Logitech code BT-50 found on http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=1968,parentcrid=925,scrid=925,CONTENTID=8931), so an average user will not find the drivers in the main driver listing. However, if you use the drivers provided for the "Logitech® Click!™ Optical Mouse" Here is the link: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/software/US/EN,CRID=1792,contentid=7644
Remember to reboot directly after loading this driver.

Also, there is another "advanced" driver on the same page which allows you to change settings for gaming and CAD use.

5 out of 5 eggsSqueek

Comments: This mouse has worked fine for me, and is a lot more fun (and functional) than the ball mouse I was using for years previous. It occasionally jumps, but not often enough for it to be a serious problem. It's worth the slight hassle.

Comments: The pointer jumping around is a known bug in a lot of USB/Optical mice, not just this model. All you have to do is use the PS/2 adapter that comes with it. Not terribly useful for a laptop, but perfectly fine for any desktop.

Comments: The look is fine, the feel is okay. However, this mouse often goes erratic, ie. the pointer jumps around on the screen and becomes extremely painful to navigate. I thought I got a defective one, but reading other reviewers proved my suspicion; this mouse indeed has problems. Logitech dropped the ball on this UltraX mouse.

5 out of 5 eggsGet MouseWare

Comments: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/software/US/EN,CRID=1793,contentid=6003 Excellent feel and the 4th button is much more convenient than I expected.

Keep in mind that this is an OEM, so the software won't come with it. Normally that's not a problem, but this mouse is somewhat difficult to find on Logitech's site, and they don't have a specific software linked for it. You'll have to get their generic MouseWare suite, available at: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/software/US/EN,CRID=1793,contentid=6003

3 out of 5 eggsKind of annoying

Comments: I don't realy like the shape and how it feels in my hand now that I have it. The also jumps around WAY too much. It's incredibly annoying. I've gone through too of these because of that, I thought it was defective so I got a replacement adn the new one did the same thing --pointer going to crazy way too much. This mouse is not stable.
