5 out of 5 eggsPerfect basic controller!

Pros: Built in support for X-Box controller only games and DirectX means a plug-n-play experience on every game I have tried it on, buttons color coded to match the X-Box button colors

Cons: None so far!

Other Thoughts: Apparently some folks have been having issues with shoddy construction of this controller, to which I say, you get what you pay for. I don't expect this to last as long as a controller double or more in cost. If I get a year or two out of it, that was a good buy. I bought this item knowing it was a low end Logitech product and my expectations are therefore low on durability and long term viability. If you are into heavy gaming with a controller I recommend some other product. For occasional controller gaming this is a good choice!

1 out of 5 eggsStay far away.

Pros: Familiar layout
Great design
Perfect size
Triggers are both digital and analogue for great compatibility with all games

Cons: It breaks. Fast. Very cheaply made underneath its beautiful exterior.

Other Thoughts: I've owned two of these in my life. The first, I purchased around three years ago after my Microsoft Sidewinder's (a true dinosaur) L button stopped working. I decided to go with the F310 because it was half the price of the Xbox 360 controller with what I hoped to be the same functionality. After about a year and a half of use, holding the controller started to cause the hardware unplugged/hardware inserted sound constantly, so I knew this could mean only one thing - there's a short in the wire.

I'm not one to deal with companies like Logitech's "warranty", where I pay half the controller's price in shipping and handling just for them to tell me that what I'm experiencing isn't a defect in workmanship or parts, but negligence on my part (which would be a lie, since I treat my gadgets like babies), so I set out to fix it myself. Sure enough, due to the poor construction of the wire (cheap, as thin as possible wire combined with very little bend-guarding at commonly pressured areas) caused a short in the wire, so I simply cut it, spliced it, and got back to gaming. That controller lasted until around a year and a half ago, when the wires shorted again, this time due to poor soldering at the connection point with the controller (inside of the controller). I brushed this off as just having gotten a lemon, but purchased a different, cheaper alternative. That controller still works, but I have since given it to my girlfriend, so I decided I would go back to the good old F310.

After owning the second F310 for less than six months, it too has experienced a short in the wires, again, after having been treated like a member of the family. The difference here is that the wires actually melted themselves, and then proceeded to break from the PCB when I tried to repair them.

To make a long story short, this controller's number one flaw comes from its shoddy workmanship and cheap parts. Everything on the controller that isn't plastic is thin and asking to break, even the PCB is wafer thin.

I recommend almost any other PS2/PS3 styled controller over this one, only because Logitech seems dedicated to making their products with as cheap as possible workmanship.

4 out of 5 eggsHigh quality, great price.

Pros: Compatible with a ridiculous number of games. Many times the game will recognize it as an XBox Controller for Windows, which makes setup a breeze for many games. The response is fantastic, it's very comfortable, it's a familiar layout, and fortunately they put the analog sticks where they belong.

Cons: The triggers are kind of skinny and the springs in them are pretty strong so they do get uncomfortable after a while, especially playing racing games.

Other Thoughts: Besides that issue with the triggers, it's a very solid buy and I'm going to add a couple more to my gear collection. Absolutely would buy again.

3 out of 5 eggsHopefully a bad one out of the bunch.

Pros: Price was low and it feels good in my hands. Having Xinput is nice as well.

Cons: When moving the left stick right/left slowly less than 5% input it will randomly stick, not the stick itself but the input.

When racing simulators this is unacceptable and as much as I like this gamepad it is worthless to me, unfortunately.

Other Thoughts: My last gamepad was a Rumblepad2 that I bought in 2003 and it was great up until Mar 2014 when it had issues with certain areas in the left stick due to an incredible amount of usage.
I've had this gamepad for 2 months and this started happening a couple of weeks ago, I don't think I've dropped it but I could be wrong, but I dropped the Rumblepad2 many times over the last decade.
I don't feel confident this gamepad will last as long as the Rumblepad2, the buttons sound as if they have been used before.

4 out of 5 eggsHad several of these.

Pros: X-input
Responsive

Cons: Clunky

Other Thoughts: I broke my first one after about two months of owning it, but then I went through a series of horrible controllers after it. I bought another because it's just easier to deal with logitech than other brands at times. X-Input is nice, and overall the controller functions smooth. Just don't drop it from any great height.

4 out of 5 eggsNot Bad

Pros: Solid, great feel.
Familiar layout
Inexpensive
Software does work well
Great cord length

Cons: Software aesthetics are dated
No vibration feedback

Other Thoughts: I am happy with my purchase, although I do wish I had shelled out an additional $10~$20 and gotten the next one up so I could get vibration. Racing with no feedback is a tad difficult

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible thumb stick control

Pros: Looks great, feels great. Very comfortable in hands

Cons: Thumb stick is very stiff, even after extensive game play. When playing any FPS it is very hard to get a precise shot on anything. It's like using a D-pad where you need to give a click where you need to aim.
