5 out of 5 eggsWorks Well.

Pros: It works well. Great feel. Seems to have range if you use the supplied usb cable.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: It does what a controller is suppose to do. Plays the game.

3 out of 5 eggsSecond Controller

Pros: Great feel, button configuration is perfect, battery life is great, overall this would be the PERFECT controller for pc accept for "read the HUGE con"

Cons: The reception on this controller is still horrible..I got one several years back and learned to deal with it, and I thought maybe just maybe they would have fixed this in a new revision. But the reception for the wireless is still horrible..I literally am like 7 feet max from my computer and depending on how I am sitting the controller may or may not drop out. It's really annoying but I still love the controller for it's Dinput / Xinput and button configuration

Other Thoughts: If you don't mind dealing with dropouts with the wireless this controller may work for you, I probably would have just got a wired xbox controller for my pc if I knew the logitech controller was going to have bad reception again.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great on Win8.1

Pros: Seamless integration with Windows

Cons: - No power switch

Other Thoughts: I don't know what other reviewers are doing when they say this controller doesn't work with Win8.1. It does. Install the driver from Logitech's website, update Windows if needed and set your F710 switch in the back to "X" for new(er) games, "D" for older games that use old or customized formats.

2 out of 5 eggsNo Windows 8.1 driver, no power switch

Pros: Cool looking paper weight.

Cons: Logitech has no Windows 8.1 driver. They refuse to make one, or fix the bug. It doesn't work on 8.1. Also there is no power switch so if you trow it in a bag buttons accidentally pressed will drain the battery out.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good.

Pros: Wireless, so none of the F310's cheap, hair thin wiring problems.

Familiar form and button layout, just like a PS2

One of the greatest D-Pads in PC controllers.

Cons: A little fickle about the wireless signal

Runs on AA batteries.

Other Thoughts: After having left a well deserved negative review of the Logitech F310, I decided that I would give the F710 a chance, not because I trust Logitech's products any more, but because I needed a controller that has higher than 2 star reviews on most sites.

Fortunately, thanks to the magic of second hand ownership, I got a barely used F710 for half the price, and Logitech gets no cut of my money this time. Take that!

To get to the point, I can honestly say that my initial impression of this controller is much better than my opinion of the F310. The plastic feels about the same quality, which is pretty good, and the buttons are still the same. However, the lack of a cord to short on me immediately lifts this controller above the F310. Where the F310 has pointless black plastic to add... I dunno, accent? The F710 has actual rubber pads to help the controller not slip out of your hands while you're playing. The entire back of the controller is lightly rubberized as well, and just feels really good in the hands. Since this one is battery operated AND has rumble motors, it feels really significant; some people may think this is a fault, but not me.

Do note: the complaints about the signal/receiver are 100% true. My computer is currently under my desk, and most of the time, that's where my controller is while I'm playing a game. If I cross my legs and one leg gets between the controller and the receiver, or if I turn just a little bit, the signal dies and has to recalibrate itself, and often it is unable to. I own a Logitech Wireless mouse, and it works no matter where it is in relation to the receiver. The same can be said for every wireless console controller I have, all the way from the GameCube to now, so to think that this one controller has such a signal trouble is a little strange. I was able to play a game with it from halfway across the room with no latency, though, so maybe it was designed with the expectation that you won't be sitting so close to the PC? That's kind of dumb, too.

All of that being said, I wouldn't let the signal issue be a deal breaker on this controller. Most people have a sort of fix for this, whether it's put the receiver on top of the table, or in a different location, and I believe that works. For me, I just have resorted to sitting as still as possible while playing.

The 5th star is lost thanks to the wireless issue, but everything else is golden. For once in my Logitech gamepad career, I can say I'm happy to have made the purchase.

2 out of 5 eggsIt works, but.....

Pros: It's wireless that's about it.

Cons: The response is slow, the mode button should be moved.

Other Thoughts: It's ok if you need a wireless works but, the toggles are slow to respond. The mode button gets in the way, if you push it while playing the toggles, left and right buttons stop working, so if you're playing an FPS you're gonna die. Logitech needs to move it to the front. Would I buy it again, No! Buy a Razer Sabertooth.

2 out of 5 eggsWindows 8.1 killed it.

Pros: It feels pretty sturdy and has a good grip on it.

Cons: Upgrading to windows 8.1 killed it for me.

I'm currently working with support to try to get it to connect again. It will connect via D input mode about 1/5th of the time but switching to X causes it to disconnect. The only way I have found so far to get it to connect again is to cross my fingers and reset my computer after putting it back in D input mode.

Other Thoughts: From what I've read on logi's forums, they seem pretty good about replacing them as this is "an accepted hardware issue." whether its the controller itself or the receiver that comes with it, I don't know yet.

1 out of 5 eggsNothing special

Pros: Excellent shape and design.

Cons: The buttons are often glitchy. Sometimes they work fine and the next minute they are either unresponsive or lock up.

Other Thoughts: Logitech really dropped the ball on this one. It's a beautiful design and has a great handfeel to it. Unfortunately it is often so difficult to play games with that it defeats the purpose. I've had it for a long time and I only ever use as a second controller.

If Logitech just refined it a little bit, it'd be the perfect controller. Until then, stick with an Xbox controller.
