Cooler Master’s Hyper TX series has evolved with requirements of mainstream CPUs. The introduction of Hyper TX3 marks another milestone with Cooler Master's first-ever full compatibility - Intel LGA 1156 socket. The Hyper TX3 also brings back the "original" direct contact heat-pipe design from Cooler Master.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features "heatpipe direct contact" technology for efficient heat conduction, plus high-density aluminum fins for maximum heat dissipation. The 92mm fan runs efficiently to deliver unparalleled cooling performance.
  • newegg Expandable for a Second Fan Add a 2nd cooling fan (optional) to the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 to achieve the best possible cooling performance!
  • newegg PWM Function The PWM function automatically adjusts fan speeds according to the CPU temperature for efficient cooling and minimized fan noise.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as Intel LGA 775 and 1156 platforms.

2 out of 5 eggsGood Heatsink w/ Bad Retention Clip Design

Pros: The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 is a good heatsink design. Low cost & it keeps my AMD CPUs running quiet and cool.
It installs fine, if you install the heatsink BEFORE you install the motherboard into the case.

Cons: You HAVE install the heatsink BEFORE you install the motherboard into the case. The Heatsink Retention Clip is an after thought. I have tried to install Hyper TX3 with the motherboard in the case & it's a pain in the rear! The last time I swapped CPUs, I got so mad I threw the heatsink!

Other Thoughts: A new Heatsink Retention Clip design on the Hyper TX3 it would be the perfect, low cost heatsink.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsUse for FX-6300 Nice!

Pros: With stock cooler for the FX-6300 no overclock it ran at idle 16c . With Valley bench 1.0 it ran at 44c.
Now with TX3 at idle is 14c and with Valley bench running 28/30.
So you can see it makes a nice difference.
Noise at idle same as stock cooler and when games are played it only cranks the fan up a little but noise is the same as if it was in idle.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: With rebate and the size factor you just cant get any better.
The next best is a Hyper 212 Evo but you have a huge heatsink and fan plus you have to mount your mounting bracket to the motherboard this TX3 just clips to the same tabs as the AMD stock cooler uses.
With rebate its only 14.99 come on it dont get any better than this.

3 out of 5 eggsFan failure

Pros: Great cooling ability.

Cons: I've had this heat sink since December of 2013. Unfortunately less than a year later the fan has failed.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent "Smaller" cooler!

Pros: *Keeps i5-4590 at 30C idle, and 50C load.
*It can handle mild overclocks on CPUs, used it with both my Pentium G3258 and A10-5800K. No huge overclocks, but 'bumps.'
*When it sits around for awhile, it can actually drop to 26C on some of the cores, really nice!
*Really easy instructions for AMD and Intel!
*Fits in my Thermaltake Core V1 Mini-ITX build with about a millimeter to spare! Perfect cooler for that case.

Cons: *It's not Cooler Master's fault, but push-pins, and particularly the included ones, are truly terrible. I got them from this cooler stuck and had to spend 10 minutes prying and forcing one of them out, feeling like I was going to crack the motherboard. AMD's installation is much easier. Again, it's not a real con, just an annoyance I personally have.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I really love this cooler. For the price, the Hyper 212 EVO is a better deal, but if you can't fit the 212 in your case, this is an awesome alternative!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Cooler, Especially for Price!

Pros: -Cheap for the performance you get.
-Doesn't need a motherboard back plate, so easy installation.
-You can mount two fans.
-Works for all sockets.

Cons: -Uses 92mm fans. If your case is big enough, it's better to have a 120mm fan CPU cooler.

Other Thoughts: I use this with an AMD FX-6300. With the stock cooler, I got over 50 degrees over load, this one only goes to 37. Great improvement for such a cheap cooler!

1 out of 5 eggsDeserves negative 5 eggs.

Pros: The fan spins and has been spinning for months.

Cons: Only the 3 heatpipes contact your CPU heatspreader. Worst design I have ever seen from the installation to the performance, and I have seen countless numbers of HSF since about 1996. It's not the worst fan I have ever seen, but fans don't cool CPUs by themselves.

Other Thoughts: You can get stock coolers that about match the performance of this for about ten dollars. This product was designed to be a mannequin for real performance coolers. Looks to me like nothing more than a fake, a knockoff, or whatever you want to call it. Coolermaster has been around a very long time. The product is what it is, though.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Robert A,

We apologize for the trouble that you are experiencing with the Hyper TX3. The Hyper TX3 does come with a total of 3 heatpipes which will be sufficient in cooling CPU's up to 130w.

Please contact us for further trouble shooting.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler for smaller cases

Pros: Cools my stock FX-8320 very well (idles ~23-27* according to psensor)

VERY quiet.

Cheap

Fits in my case. I would have gone with the Hyper 212, but my case is not blessed with ample space.

Cons: Installation is a ROYAL pain on an AMD socket. The lever is just a tad too short IMO, meaning it takes way too much time getting everything lined up properly.

I worry about the stability of the cooler without a backplate. Fully seated, and properly installed, it still can be twisted around a bit on the socket (not much, maybe 5 degrees either direction, but still, it's not locked in perfectly).

Other Thoughts: Docked an egg for the installation. All in all, it is what it is. An amazing cooler for cheap. If you can't fit a bigger cooler in your PC, or can't afford better, this is a fantastic replacement for the stock coolers.

5 out of 5 eggsHighly recommend

Pros: I am very impressed with this cooler. It quietly keeps my I5 2500 below 50*C at full load, and the fan stays well below 2000rpm. The install was rather easy, I spent more time working with thermal paste than installing/assembling the cooler.

Cons: I wish the direct contact heatpipes were smoother, and flush the cpu face of the cooler; It might make for better heat transfer. Took a few minutes to work thermal paste into the small gaps.

Other Thoughts: Purchased for a failing stock intel coolers in my HTPC/Gamer, specs:
CM Hyper TX3
Intel I5 2500
ASUS P8Z77-V LX
4X2GB Kingston DDR3 1600
MSI Gaming GTX 750 Ti
NZXT Phantom PHAN-002OR
Samsung Evo 120GB
2 X WD Green 2TB
Seagate 250GB
2 X LG Blu-ray Reader/burner
Corsair 430 PSU

5 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

Pros: Fits perfectly on a LGA 775
Provided better cooling than the oem cooler.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace my Neptwin Deep Cool Heat sink that I installed on my newer gaming machine with a core i7. This was definitely a good move rather than putting the ugly stock cooler on.
