Excellent Value
Pros: The card is under $200.00, which is reasonable for a GFX card. 512 MB of on board memory which is very good for the price especially. Doesn't heat up badly at all, but if you OC it you may want to get a fan.
Cons: Only 12 pixel pipelines. This card would fly if it had 16, but ATI always pushes quality frames over quantity frames and high powered clock speeds and memory buses.
Other Thoughts: I wouldn't OC this card, it really doesn't have the firepower for OCing. If you're getting bad quality on games get a new card or lower the settings.
I got this card to play Supreme Commander and it works great. Everything is on High except theres no AA. Fidelity on high too! I got steady FPS and am enjoying the game immensely. System specs: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.4 ghz, radeon x1600 pro, 2 GB corsair ram, and im running DUAL monitors on this ONE card. Take that into consideration as I'm losing 15% on the speed because of it.
All in all, a wise purchase if you're not looking to play Crysis or Stalker.

ati skimps on the cooling
Pros: good low/mid gaming card for the money. oc very well
Cons: the cooler on this card does not do it justice. get a after market one if your a gamer on a budget. or just want to get more for your money.
Other Thoughts: i took the stock cooler off to put some arctic 5 on cuz im crazy like that ...an seen that the contact area was not smooth at all. it was a raw cast surface. boo on ati. after adding a after market cooler and ram sinks this thing flies for its price range. got the core ocd @ 627Mhz and mem @ 445Mhz...from the stock 500/400 thats very good. after the oc i got my fps in quake4 around 60 solid!
system used : Pentium D 805 ocd @3.2Ghz 4Gigs of ocz 800Mhz on abit Ni8 SLI

Great Video Card
Pros: This card works well with my ASUS A8N5X Motherboard and plays high graphics games very well. Games like BF2, BF2142, COD2, etc... Overall it is a good card to buy. I would recommend this card over the higher cards because it is very stable with most motherboards.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: This video card has more bang for your buck.

WOW
Pros: The low cost and OK video performance.
Cons: You can only do crossfire with a board that has the ATI CrossFire Xpress 1600 chipset. And ATI only certified ONE board. So if your going to run crossfire and you like the Sapphire "Pure" Crossfire II PC-17RD400 Motherboard then your ok. I however have the ASUS P5W DH Deluxe and spent $200.00 on it and have to get a new card. Can anybody say "NEW X1600 PRO FOR SALE!"
Other Thoughts: This card also gets a little hot and starts to run poor in some game like BF2 if you turn the settings up to high.

GREAT GREAT CARD
Pros: It runs all my games beautifully on 2 different desktops.Very very smooth.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: For those of you who say it runs hot, I have two different desktops and I use this card in each one. On one PC it runs at 43degrees celcious at idle and 53 under heavy load, and on the 2nd PC it runs at 44 degrees at idle and 54 MAXIMUM under load.I really think the problem with the other reviewers is that their cases are the problem. Both of my cases have plenty of cooling and none of it is any special cooling I installed. What more can I say, I have 2 on 2 different machines and no problems with any of them. 1st machine is AMD dual core 3800 AMD2 socket and msi mobo 550 watt psu and 2 gigs of crucial bellistic memory. 2nd machine is AMD dual core 4200 939 socket and 450 watt thermalflake power supply, msi mobo, and 1 gig of crucial ballistic memory. Some time when you try to install ANY card in a factory built machine without the proper cooling you surely can have an overheating problem. Newegg, your prices and especially your shiping is outstanding Thanks NEW EGG.

Crossfire - love it.
Pros: In-expensive, easy to install, did I say in-expensive? I bought 2 of these: Decent driver support, runs crossfire in software mode, plays Oblivion and Everquest2 max details smooth as butter!
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Installed this in a system I built myself. Mobo: Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe, AMD64 +3800, 2gb DDR/400 Ram, 2 WD250 Sata drives in Raid-0, Pioneer DVD-+RW, Audigy ZS Platinum 7.1 sound system, OS: XP-Pro

good card
Pros: price, stable.
Cons: i really dislike having to install .NET framework for the ATI control panel, but no problems with it.
Other Thoughts: I have used many ATI products, their hardware is great. I recommend going with a little higher model card if you can though.

Great card
Pros: Great in games...performs well in MMORPG's...various graphic applications, as well as Vista.
Cons: It does shoot out a lot of heat. Letting my computer run with my door to my room shut will raise the temp of the room 5 degrees in an hour.
Other Thoughts: I have had this particular card for over a year now and am quite satisfied with it. ATI has never let me down and I ONLY recommend ATI. I recently replaced all of my nVidia components (MOBO included) with strictly ATI and all of my driver issues magically disappeared and now everything runs AWESOME on my media center PC/HDTV set up. I will never go with nVidia again.

Pros: Memory size is great. High FPS when playing BattleFront 2, World of Warcraft, etc.
Cons: Heat! Other reviews have stated issues with lock ups due to heat, this is definately true. When I put this into my system initially I was getting readings of 70C and higher. I had to cut out a hole in the side panel of my case and attach a fan dedicated to blowing air on the card, and it still runs warmer than I feel comfortable with. I've managed to get it down to about 50C when merely browsing, about 45C when system is idle.
Other Thoughts: I haven't had too many issues with this card really, it doesn't lock up for the most part, however, there was a period where the VPU recover had to come into play about 8 times in 1 week. Hasn't happened since. I do get the flickering/glitchy screen when I logon to Windows and when openning Catalyst Control Center, but it doesn't happen any other time. I've also noticed a few driver STOP errors when younger sister plays The Sims 2. I'm not sure if this is fixed in any updates or not. It's not a bad video card, just as I said earlier, it runs hot with stock cooling.

No end of problems
Pros: Does fairly well in games.
Cons: I had no end of problems with this card. I couldn't keep the system up for more than a day without the system locking up in one way or another. The card itself would lock up fairly frequently, if run in dual mode I would get frequent flickering. When I swapped out the card for an nVida 7600 that I was previously using in another machine, all of the problems magically disappeared and even live tv (from my tuner card) looks better. I was indeed running the latest drivers, and there was no difference in about 5 driver updates and reinstalls or tweaking the settings.
Other Thoughts: I have a friend with the same X1600 Pro and he also has similar problems. I even found the control panel to be buggy. Forget this card, get an nVidia 7600 GT KO. I gave ATI a chance, but will never buy another ATI card again.

Heating, but not bad!
Pros: Great GPU, excellent processing and visual tests. HUGE video storage compared to poopy 256MB cards! Excellent resolutions.
Cons: Overheating is an issue, the rinky dinky fan doesnt cool squat. Runs at about 123 degrees F. when browsing the web on the desktop and about 147 Fahrenheit when in world of warcraft. Other games not so much an issue, for some reason just WoW stresses it out.
Other Thoughts: Excellent card for the money, just make sure you grab some sort of cooling unit for it. The base Fan and heatsink just dont cut it. Not sure why ATI decided to go visuals instead of more fan opening...

Still testing?
Pros: First my system gygabyte mobo w/athlon 3000+ skt 754 processor 2gig ram and my new RADEON X1600 video card. Well my games do run a tad better than my old card geforce 7300 ($xx a year ago from my local cpu shop). All my games run smooth NFS Carbon, Halo, Mafia(old i know), WOW has slower frame rates at highest settings. I was surprised to see NFS carbon and most wanted running very smooth.
Cons: Where to begian? 1750 score on 3d mark06.... THAT SUCKS I was expecting a 5000 score at least yea my processer and mobo suck but come on! Also Dacris benchmark says that my video card is what is bottlenecking my system. Very dissapoing indead, but the games im running dont reflect the bad scores. Also im having some flickering issues on windows start up and when loading a game as reported by other reviewers.
Other Thoughts: Well im running all up to date drivers dont know why im having some issues. Also new egg raised the price I bought it for $xxx now they want $xxx for that price, forget about it go with nvidia, dont think i will ever buy another ati card again.

good card
Pros: very good card
Cons: does have a heat issue
Other Thoughts: get atitool (google it) and increase the fan speed since its running only 19% set it to keep it at 45c and only running 50% on fan speed, runs less than 45 c now so it solves the heating problem on this card (also helps to have a decent case

on sale everywhere else right now
Pros: Excellent card for the $$, ATI offers the absolute BEST support available, new drivers released monthly.
Cons: heat tends to be a problem for this card *IF* you dont have adequate cooling in your PC. I have had no problems running two of these cards in crossfire, side by side, just keep my case fans turned up :)
Other Thoughts: Circuit City is offering this card for only 125 right now. Thats an excellent deal since when I bought my first one of these I paid 200 for it, then 160 for my second one. Go buy the X1950XTX, now thats a card! I have that card as well and the only card to beat it in benchmarks are the dual-gpu nvidia cards <-- actually 2 cards in one though.

Pros: great cheap graphics card runs great
Cons: it tends to overheat like crazy make sure if buying this you have plenty of cooling fans and a well ventelated case.
Other Thoughts: good graphics card needs to be cooled a lot very cheap but still becomes extremely hot probably goin to upgrade it in the next few months

Pros: *shrug* uhh you didnt need to plug it into your powersupply. Shader model 3.0, which this card should last for a few years without upgrading. 512mb sure sounds nice, but its not DDR3
Cons: to tell yah the truth, i thought it would have performed alot better on all high with most games. Did have to skimp on resolution and misc effects to make it run smoother. It gets pretty HOT without even OC it, and i had to ghetto a fan on the backside of it to kool it down. Also the fan it comes with seems pretty weak and not to mention the fan is extreamly small, im surprised i could feel hot air coming out of the exhaust. A vga cooler upgrade might be necessary if u want to OC tho.
Other Thoughts: I kinda want to beat myself up for not getting a DDR3 X800 series, but i think that having 512mb covers the slack a little bit and it should somewhat be on the same level as lets say 256mb DDR3. yes? no? I got around 35-40FPS in Prey on all high. 35-80FPS Guild Wars Factions all high. 30FPS in Ghost Recond Advanced Warfighter on all high. Also 4 pixel pipelines? for this much? You might want to go with an aftermarket brand that has 8-12 pipes for cheaper.

Waste of money
Pros: Can't really think of any...
Cons: The card was all around bad. When loading games and Alt Tabbing into games, the entire screen flickers for 2 seconds as it initializes drivers. if anything pops up over a full screen game, such as the start bar, the game starts to lag terribly. I sent my card back thinking it might be defective, but was disappointed when the returned video card did the exact same thing.
Other Thoughts: I’ve always used ATI... until now. i just set this card on my shelf and bought a nice Nxxdia.

FOR PHYSICS
Pros: It's a one slot, no power, 512mb PCIe card first party from ATI.
Cons: Weak for graphics too me, but this is coming from someone who's main machine has an X1900XT.
Other Thoughts: All the pros make it perfect for physics processing. ATI announced today that their ATI GPUs will be able to run physics processes, just so long as it's a X1K card. We're supposed to be seeing Conroe/Crossfire boards this summer (RD600) that will have three full PCIe x16 slots; 2 for Crossfire; 1 for physics. SInce this thing is small and doens't need a power connector, it's perfect for the job. Supposidly twice as powerful as the $300 PhysX processor that can only do physics.

Terrible card
Pros: None really considering what you CAN get for the same, or close to the same price.
OK, 512 meg gddr2.
Didn't buy this card from Newegg. Nothing but "pros" for them.
Cons: Horrable in OCing, bad marks in 3DMark 06 (2000 and lower range), has gddr2 RAM where even the 700 has gddr3.
Just a really bad card and I've owned ATIs for years and never thought about a switch to nVidia until now.
Other Thoughts: Get the X1800 XT for lees than a C note more. You'll be happier. In fact look at the nVidia 7900GT KO first. Also check the futuremark site for the scores on this card vs. the X1800s and the 7900GTs.

Sweet card
Pros: Just about everything. Easy install, no additional power needed. Excellent frame rate and pixel count. Battlefront II looks sooooooo good.
Cons: It's not an x1900, but it was way cheaper.
Other Thoughts: Setting up crossfire on my machine as soon as I can affor another card.

Wonderful
Pros: beautiful card runs cs:source 97fps and can handle FEAR wonderfully with very minor framerate issues during smoke and dust. Battlefield 2 maxed no lag. SWAT 4 is cake
specs: Intel Pentium 4 w/ HT (3.40ghz) 1.00 GB Infineon Superior D RAM 250 GB SATA HD Asus Motherboard
Cons: literally none other than its not the best card on the market but it is for the price
Other Thoughts: I am gunna get a crossfire mobo and pickup another one of these bad boys once price goes down

Ok Graphics Card
Pros: The graphics support for this graphics card is intense... has very good compatibility with games, and surely outperforms most nvidia...
Cons: There are some jitter problems with this card when i first start up a game... usually lasts 1 second, could possibly be the gateway computer i'm using it on
Other Thoughts: I reccomend it... good graphics card for under 300$, forget SLI to get 512, just buy one of these...
