Great Card for the Price
Pros: I have a Dell 8400 3.6 pentium III purchased in 2004 with an ATI 800 XT 128 mg. I finally purchased Bioshock installed it and the shading did not work. Game continually crashed. Found this card, installed it in 10 minutes, downloaded the NVIDIA drivers and was playing Bioshock flawlessly in 30 minutes. Ordering, installation, driver dowload was pretty simple. The heat sink is huge, so you better have some room. The card does not have a fan, so there is no noice associated with it. If you are looking for an inexpensive upgrade to your old computer, this is the card. NewEgg has convinced me this is the site to purchase all of my computer / electronics needs.
Cons: Nothing found so far. I have only had the card one day.

good card, but very bulky
Pros: Quiet, powerful. I selected the card as the most powerful Nvidia model that has both dual-DVI outputs AND non-fan passive cooling only.
Cons: Runs a little warm, very very bulky.
Other Thoughts: I bought this card to replace a MSI 7600 in a system that is always powered up, hoping to quiet it down a bit.
The new card is completely silent, as hoped. However, it is MASSIVE and will not fit in many systems. It will likely not fit in a system with a tight micro-ATX mainboard. Under non-gaming load, but driving two large DVI-attached displays, the system remains modestly cool. My MSI 7600 (w/fan) usually measured 49-53C, this card (a more powerful GPU) measures 53-55C. If I wanted, I could turn my system fan up (which defeats the quiet intention) but that lowers the this GPU's temperature to 51C.
None of the vendor photos show the heatsink at an angle to show that it's notably thicker than the rest of the card assembly. This could be called a two-slot design by virtue of its size.
The heatsink assembly is attached to the GPU by copper heat conduits and sits "above" the card in a normal right-side-up tower configuration.

Great card, when it fits in your case
Pros: Excellent performance in its class. Absolutely quiet (of course) with no fan.
Cons: I recently moved this card into a horizontal HTPC case and the copper heat pipes make it impossible to close the case all the way.
Other Thoughts: Highly recommended if you have room in your case, just be warned that it won't fit in every situation.

Quiet,Priced Right
Pros: This card replaced a generic 8300 that came with my system. Due to its fanless design, it actually made my system quieter. Since I leave my system on 24/7, it was a welcome change. I am now able to play WoW at my monitors full resolution along with several other games. This is one of the best bang for the buck out there.
Cons: The heat sink is HUGE! It may not fit in some systems. It was tight in my Vostro mini-tower. Some of the MSI supplied apps were difficult to configure and I eventually removed.
Other Thoughts: While the pics don't show it, if your motherboard has a heatsink or other device (such as a capacitor) near the top PCI-e 16x slot that stands up more than 1.5" it could interfere with the cooling fins. If it is not placed in the top 16x slot, you will loose access to the slot above it. It's the price one pays to be quiet.

Quiet and it works well
Pros: It's Quiet, it works well. Yeah it's not the latest and greatest but it's bang for the buck is very good.
Cons: No support from MSI for XP 64 bit, so if you use XP 64 you'll need to use the basic drivers from NVidia's site which don't take full advantage of the cards capabilities.
Other Thoughts: This card and some older hardware (specificly my printer/scanner & webcam)which also wasn't supported under XP-64 forced my move to Vista.

It's a good one.
Pros: I bought this in September 2007 when building a new monster machine based on an IP-35 Pro with Vista 64. And I am quite happy with it. It seems to have held it's value over a 9 month period which is remarkable for a graphics card. It is quiet with the fanless design, it will produce resolution to match the best of monitors (dual even) and it even runs Crysis at the highest settings with fluid clear resolution. When I bought it there was a rebate, and I did in fact get my rebate from MSI with no monkey business.
Cons: The photos don't show how large the cooling fins are. The fanless design does have a rather large cooling fin area, but I would rather that, than more noise from a fan. It actually blocked my single PCIE port, so when installing a PCIE Raid card after filling up all 6 SATA ports, I had to move it down to a lower PCI Express x16 port. When I did this, naturally it nuked the driver, but I was happy to find that MSI still updates the drivers for this and I was able to download a new one, free and fast. And it's even for Vista 64.
Other Thoughts: I don't see how someone could go wrong with this card, unless you only have one PCI Express x16 slot with your PCIE slot right above it (and need the PCIE slot). I upgrade my main machine every three months with the newest parts on the market. When taking the machine apart, cleaning everything, upgrading ram and hard drives, etc. , I looked around for a new video card and realized that I don't need to upgrade this one. You can spend five times as much money on another card if you really need to, but this allows me to watch HD movies on one monitor, while working or gaming on the other. It's a good one.

Good upgrade
Pros: Great performance so far. Got to try a real game first. Order on Monday received on Tuesday with standard shipping.
Cons: Kind of bulky. Make sure you watch your fingers on the heat sink you might get cut.

Love silence
Pros: Totally silent. I have mid tower with two 120mm fans (intake + exhaust) which runs on low ~900rpm all the time. On idle GPU is ~49C; after 1 hour playing FarCry with HDR enabled it gets up to 71C with no lag at all. Performs as expected.
Cons: Big heatsink - may not fit on some motherboards.
Other Thoughts: Great deal for the money.

Quiet, stable
Pros: Quite. I belong to so-called quite freak. The computer is in bed room and I am easily annoyed by any sound it makes; quiet operation is a must-have. I set speedfan to increase fan speed on case fan when the GPU reach 80C, the hottest I got is 73C so far, so the case fan is always at lowest speed about 850RPM which is not audible because the PSU running louder. Right now the loudest noise is clicking from hard drive, IDE 160G, old generation. Got the witcher game. My son can play game at max setting, which looks much better than the old onboard video solution, with no noticeable lag.
Cons: You can not get top-of-line performance by spending so little, just kidding.
Other Thoughts: The reason to set 80C as threshold is because the GPU core can safely operate around this temperature with expected life time much longer than the time when it becomes obsolete. The hotter it is, the more heat it will dissipate given a certain amount of air flow and air temperature. To be able to dissipate large quantity of heat energy without excessive air flow which generates noise, it has to be allowed run hot. This is the nature of passive cooling.

Great card.
Pros: Silent. Powerful enough to play WoW at 1600x1200 at 60fps and medium to high settings.
Cons: Pretty darn big heatsink. Be sure you have room.
Other Thoughts: Flyer in box saying you can buy an add-on convertor to let you send audio over HDMI. So should make a great Media Center video card. Powerful, silent and supports HDCP and HDMI with audio.

Great Card for the money
Pros: Good card for the money. But, if your planning on doing either extreme intensive gaming or graphics you would do better with a card with a fan. But, this is a great card for the average user: photos, light gaming, movies, etc.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Installed without any trouble and once cd was put in, it installed with no trouble and was up and running. Be careful of your mobo's config because the heat sink is BIG and could possibly not fit in some configs.

Mine running on 13 amps
Pros: Quiet. Runs on my Powerspec V220's stock "300W" PSU which has only 13 amps on the +12 rail, and gets 40-50 FPS in Oblvion (in the countryside... 70FPS in the first scene) at the following settings: Ultra high, all in-game options on, Vsync on, no AA, 1024x768x32, 70HZ, Windows Vista Home Premium.
Cons: It's foolish to knock an 8600 for being an 8600 and not a card that costs a lot more, so, no cons.
Other Thoughts: Instructions did not mention the foam insulation between the heat sink fins and the PC board, if it was just for shipping or important during operation. Although the card fit in my machine, it would not fit with the foam in place, and removing the foam was made difficult by the protrustions from the PC board components grabbing at it.

Perfect Solution :)
Pros: Got this for my HP computer, being limited in space and power supply output and not needing this for high end gaming but wanting to run dual monitors for graphics and overall productivity, this card fit my needs 100%.
Installation was fast and easy, within 5 mins I had the disc out and rebooted and was setting up my dual monitor options.
I mainly went this direction due to no fan (quiet) and no external power supply needed, as my power supply in the HP here was limited at best and I didn't want to push it anymore than it already is being pushed.
I did have to remove a minor not used internal bracket HP uses for a slide in hard drive, but I never use that and the trade off to make this card fit and work was WELL worth it.
I can't speak for gamers, but I use photoshop, illustrator, web design and video/sound editing tools like crazy all with no heat or display issues and love having the dual monitor setup at such an affordable price.
Cons: A bit larger than some cards due to the heat fins, my midtower was cramped a bit but I got it to fit by removing a non used internal hard drive cage.
Other Thoughts: I have used this card so far for a few months of troublefree service, no heat or display issues and seems solid/stable, this is my second msi nvidea card both installed very easy and software wise were great vs my old ati cards, not knocking ati just the msi cards went in fast and easy, some ati cards I have installed needed updates or some minor tweeking to get it to perform with other hardware, could be luck I dunno but I am sticking with MSI and Nvidea.

Ok card
Pros: Cheap, quiet and allowed me to play some new games my old card couldn't handle.
Cons: Because its quiet there is no fan, just a huge heat pipe and finned heatsink. At start of play card rocks, but gaming stress's out this card making everthing feel laggy after 30 min. Runs at 37 deg at rest and hit 43 deg celcius playing Q4 online after 30 min.
Other Thoughts: I did put a 60 mm fan ontop of heat sink to see if that would help and it does keep the temp down to 36 at rest and 40 at hard play. Thinking of buying a fan/ heat sink combo for $30 and ditching original heat pipe. My plan was to get 2 of these cards and run SLI mode for $200 and out preform a more costly 8800 gt. So now it would run me about $260 with better cooling for both vrs's $300 somthing for a 8800 gt. If I was doing it over again I would have gone for a card with a fan and probebly spent the extra for the 8800.

Not for gaming
Pros: No noisy fan and dual DVI outs.
Cons: This card is defiantly not for any type of gaming. I was a little disappointed on how slow it is.
Other Thoughts: Even though I said its not for gaming, I still gave it a 5 because I didn't buy it for gaming. I bought it for an office computer to connect to a flat panel monitor. So for what I bought it for, it works fine. Make sure you have the room for this. The heat sink on the back of the card is very large. I was lucky that it just barely fit next to my CPU heat sink and just above the RAAM.

Nice Silent Fanless Graphics Card
Pros: Silent! NO FAN! Fast. MSI is an excellent brand.
Cons: Takes up 2 slots unless PCIE 16x is on the inside end. Big heat sink.
Other Thoughts: Bought this for my wife's computer, primarily as a silent option to quiet her PC, and to replace a 6800 AGP card for her new motherboard that supports PCIE. To note, though it's an 8000 series, it's not near as fast as my PCEI 7900 GT OC. 8000 series are optimatized for DirectX 10 while the 7000 are made for DirectX 9; but doesn't mean the 8000 series are faster than even the high end 6000 series cards. It's important to note, the heatsink takes up it's own slot. Installed in an MSI K9AGM2 motherboard, where the 1x PCIE is between the 16x PCIE slot and the CPU, this card renders the 1x PCIE useless; which is OK (right now) because I don't have anything that uses the slot. IF I installed this in my MSI K9N SLI Platinum motherboard, where the 16x PCIE is on the end of the slots, the heat sink would not take up a slot; however, (I've measured) it would touch the large heatsink fins for my 6400+ processor, though it would fit an be a non-issue. I highly recommend this video card!!!

Got this running SLI
Pros: Wasn't expecting a miracle, purchased as I could afford them, one last year and one this month. Wow does this run well in SLI at 625/775! Getting no stutter, almost everything on in FEAR. It looks simply amazing, and plays smooth as a console game now. Haven't installed Crysis or anything yet, but expecting good things. Won't be running High or anything, but I didn't expect to with a sub-100 card. Paired with Athlon X2 3600+ (50 bucks here) and 1GB OCZ Ram
Cons: $203 For a MONSTER! Can't complain for the price/performance!
Other Thoughts: Didn't see any reviews for this actually in SLI, so here is one of the first! A8n-SLI Deluxe Mobo, atx full tower and no space problems. Still room between the cards, though the top one comes close to the "Big Typhoon" CPU Cooler (within a cm!) Chipset ok, though close also on the second card. Ram locking clip close with top card, just can't take it out without removing card but no biggie!

Got a 512MB DDR3 card !!!!!
Pros: One big pro is that MSI sent me a 512MB DDR3 card instead of the 256MB DDR3 that I ordered :-) Thanks MSI and Newegg !! This card is the best that money can buy for the budget-conscious buyers. I am having a ball playing all the games in 1680x1050 resolution on my widescreen at amazing framerates. I'd say, it is a kickbutt card and I am able to OC the card to 640Mhz/1660Mhz without any artifacting. No additional cooling required.
Cons: Why doesn't MSI and Newegg ship the 512MB DDR3 instead of the 256MB to everyone else too? :-)
Other Thoughts: Newegg shipped the product the very next day for no extra charge. Newegg is the only site I'd trust for computer peripherals.

Works fine but note space reqs
Pros: The card works great. Good performance for price.
Cons: I ordered this to install in a home theather PC, because I wanted to reduce noise output as much as possible. I didn't realize just how big the heatsink on the back of the card is, and how restrictive the case I was installing into would be. Turns out the power supply was too close to the PCIe slot, so I couldn't use it. Luckily, I was able to swap it with the card in my main workstation.

Excellent nongamer card
Pros: Silent. Excellent performance for a nongamer card. Stability. Affordable (especially after rebates). DDR3. DVI. Did I say silent?
Cons: can't think of any
Other Thoughts: Excellent card. Installation went easy, just plugged it in, downloaded latest drivers from NVidia, and here you go... No signs of instability of any kind so far. Some people have said it's big and gets very hot in heavy games. I can't comment on gaming as I don't play games but as far as watching HD video is concerned, it doesn't get too hot. After all, you would expect a silent card be somewhat warm. The size is ok. After reading reviews I actually was thinking it must be really big. It is not. But you definetely need to have some room above the PCI-Express slot. I would say 1.5" or so should be enough. It shouldn't be a problem unless you have a tiny mobo/case combination. The performance of this card is excellent compared to 6150SE integrated graphics. In fact, I rediscovered Aero with it. The transitions look very pleasant and smooth. I use it with a 1920x1080 monitor. HD video playback has never been so nice. The card offloads CPU signigicantly. It never gets higher than 30-40%.

Nice for the Price
Pros: Completely silent! This is about the only way to improve on the Zalman VF700 running on 5V that I had set up. Temps are cool at around 50-55C even while running WoW.
Cons: My x550 could handle running WoW on one monitor while I watched an .AVI video file on the other monitor. This card cannot do so without massive stuttering on the video file. Maybe I need to tweak my settings some more, but I was sorely disappointed that a current gen card could not outdo my 2 year old x550 in this aspect.
Other Thoughts: Not much gaming improvement over my OC'ed x550, but I cant complain for the price I paid.

Top Shelf Card w/o fan
Pros: No fans no noise at all yet outstanding performance with R3 tech. Kinda heats up a bit when peak performance. Better with an aluminum case with back and front fan
Cons: kinda roomy in the case. if going SLI make sure you have at least a roomy mid tower.
Other Thoughts: Assembled at least 100's with other cards with fans built in but in 3 months customer comes back with either with a busted fan or a noisy one, so I prefer quietness over preformance.

Pros: It can play all the games out there. The heatsink does a very good job and keeps it quiet. It overclocks very nicely.
Cons: It's big.
Other Thoughts: Windows Xp P4 3GHZ 1 gig 667mhz ram and this plays bioshock max at 1600x1200.COD4 max 4xAA.Crysis all high at 1024x768 some lag. It's awesome.

Good mainstream performance
Pros: This GDDR3 version runs much faster than the previous Gddr2 version I have. Overclocking is very easy now, all you need to do is download ntune from Nvidia.
Cons: Runs gosh awfully hot, even given the large heatsink installed on it. Highest it ever went was around 68C on load with my case fans at max RPM.
Other Thoughts: The mail in rebate is a sham, I dont even know if I will ever get it back.

Pros: Nice looking card.
Cons: Did not work as advertised in my system. Nvidia and 64bit XP drivers, but this card DOES NOT work with XP 64bit. Drivers CD that comes with the card is useless. When installed, I got continous BSODs. Wouldn't even play a small video clip.
Other Thoughts: My system: Nforce 4 ultra motherboard, 2GB DDR400 RAM, 500W PSU, Athlon 64 3200+.

No problems for 6+ months
Pros: Does everything I ask it to with no problems. Nice and quiet.
Cons: None that I've found. It does take up some room with the heatsink, but the slot seems to be designed for it.

Excellent card for a Linux system
Pros: No fan (no noise, nothing to break), dual DVI output (dual monitor), works well on Linux.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Installed in my new Dell Inspiron 531 running Fedora 8 - works great. You must download and install nVidia proprietary drivers as the default Fedora drivers cannot drive two monitors. Once installed, you get complete control via "nVidia X Server" applet - very detailed.

Pretty good for passive cooling
Pros: It's an 8600GT chipset - constant high ratings and great value. Need I say more?
Cons: This card seems to run pretty hot, over 68 degrees C with good case airflow. I've run into stability problems with this on COD4 with no overclock. Also, as many others have written, the heatsinks are large and protrude from both sides of the card
Other Thoughts: This is probably a good choice for HTPC types, but if I was buying again, I'd be looking for an activly cooled 8600GT

Pros: May be good if it is working. No noise. Fast shipping by NewEgg.
Cons: This card did not work as advertised in my system. Can't do anything major, even playing a small video. BSOD every 2-3 minutes. Tried with latest drivers (forceware) from Nvidia, different settings - Still the same problem. Had to request a RMA.
Other Thoughts: System: Athlon 64 3200+, 512MB x 4 DDR400 RAM, 500W PSU, Nforce 4 Ultra motherboard, Windows XP Pro 64bit.

Beware of MSI rebates
Pros: Excellent card. Silent, fast, no issues with installation. Newegg service, website and delivery time is unsurpassed as always.
Cons: If you are buying this expecting to get the rebate you may want to think twice. I sent in all the paperwork right after I received the card and printed out the invoice out of my account on Newegg. After about 6 weeks I emailed them asking if they had received my rebate and did not get any response until about a month later when they said that I did not provide an invoice and only a packing list and according to the rules I could not resubmit and my rebate was consequently denied. I bought 3 other items with rebates and submitted the same paperwork with them and received the rebates with no issues.
Other Thoughts: The rebate was part of the reason I bought this card so don't count on getting it very quick if at all.

MSI still reigns supreme in my book
Pros: I have owned numerous brands of GeForce and Radeon cards, but always prefer MSI, even though the many systems I have built always have Asus MB. I have never RMAed an MSI card and have only had one good bad out of 29 cards, and that was a bad fan that fried the card. the NX8600GT is an outstanding example of high quality.
Cons: None

Fast, Silent, and Cheap
Pros: This card is great. Handles my games and video apps with ease. I love the silent pipe techonology, keeps it silent. The card does get a little hot but all cards these days do.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: awesome deal with the rebate

Great card
Pros: Silent! Runs cool (45-50C), fits well on my Asrock 775dual-vsta mobo, bumped my Aero and 3D scores to 5.9 and 5.5 (up from 4.1 and 3.4 respectively with the Sapphire Altantis 9600 128MB 128-bit AGP)
Cons: Less tolerant on overclocking than the Sapphire - but the culprit may be the 4X PCI-E (vs. the 8X AGP for the old card) - and it's plenty fast for my needs (little gaming)
Other Thoughts: About temps... maybe I was lucky to get the perfect airflow: air is sucked in from an opening in the case side door, goes around the card and exhausts through a low-RPM silent 120mm case fan (no intake fan)

Best Bang for the Buck
Pros: 1. Fanless - there's no fan to worry about failing 2. Low power draw - newer cards require bigger psu's. You can cheat with this one because there's no fan. 3. Performance - may not be a gamer's dream card, but, its not $300 either. Performance on DX9 games as good or better than the 7600GT. And it'll play the newer DX10 games.
Cons: The Big Heatsink - wasn't a problem for me, but, if you own a desktop case it very well could be.
Other Thoughts: Upgraded from a 7300LE to get decent frame rates in IL-2 Sturmovik:1946. Choice was between the 8600GT, 7600GT, and the Radeon X1650XT. Decided on this one since it'll perform as good or better and will run the DX10 games.

Doesn't fit in a standard Gigabyte motherboard
Pros: Cheap. Silent.
Cons: Can't be installed in a standard Gigabyte motherboard. The geniuses at MSI have not only put the bulky heatsink ABOVE rather than below the card, they've made it so huge (three inches or so) that I can't install it. It's bumping into my RAM, and if it wasn't it would be bumping into my Northbridge's heatsink.
Other Thoughts: So they made a gigantic heatsink. Fine. I wanted a silent card and knew the heatsink would be big. But instead of being transparent about the size and ridiculous design of it, MSI offers misleading pictures that give no indication how far above the card the heatsink reaches. Unacceptable.

Cool and Quiet
Pros: Very cool (52C) and Quiet (of course, no fan!). Excellent video quality. Dual DVI output.
Cons: Rear heat pipe finned heatsink is quite large and could be a problem for some installations. The PCI release button is almost completely blocked by it and the northbridge heatsinks. I have to use a screwdriver to reach in and release the catch in order to remove the video card.
Other Thoughts: Coolest running hiperformance video card I have ever used.

Great BUY!
Pros: Upped 3DMark 06 from 274 (no kidding, using onboard 6100) to 5442. Nothing to write home about, but neither is the older system it's running on. Getting 94FPS in Doom3 timedemo with all the settings off, and I only have an Athlon64 3000+! Quake 4 finally runs smooth, playing both in MP with constant 60FPS! Used to run Doom3 at 24FPS and barely enjoyable! UPS got it here on the 3rd day (after ordering), Free Shipping and rebate, unbelievable! Thanks Newegg you rock!
Cons: none, great performance for the price
Other Thoughts: Friend has SLI 8800's and he's only getting 120fps with a dualcore AthlonFX in said Doom Timedemo, and paid 6x more for 1\6th more performance!

MSI 8600GT
Pros: Card arrived in reasonable timeframe. Works fine, no problems. Playing Unreal Tournament 3 (Demo) @ 1024*768 with a framerate of 61-65 per second. Used new Nvidia drivers from website.
Cons: The cooling fins etc made it a little bulky, but, that was expected.
Other Thoughts: None.

Perfect in an all-passive P182
Pros: Perfectly silent with great temperatures for a fanless card (53°C idle /65°C load) inside my P182 with 3 Noctua case fans, and fanless CPU cooler/power supply. The performance is great, too. I have had no problems.
Cons: Size/shape might be a problem for some, but it was not an issue for me.
Other Thoughts: Perfect

Great card for the money
Pros: Quiet! Low power consumption, does not require additional power plug. Stable. Runs cool in my well vented mid-tower. Easy to install.. (for me, anyway.. see cons) Great price. Performance not horrible. DX10. Easy to overclock.
Cons: This card is huge and the heatsink is shaped funny. Not gonna fit for everyone. Websites really should list dimensions and show more pictures of the back side of the card to avoid unnecessary returns.
Other Thoughts: I have owned this card for three months now and I love it. Bioshock plays good and looks great at medium detail settings, it plays World in Conflict good enough to be fun. Plays NWN2 at high settings. I love that there is no fan to make noise and fail. I would have paid extra for this feature but didn't have to. :) If you are a casual gamer and looking to spend in this price range I highly reccomend this card. If playing the latest DX10 games in high resolutions is important to you please look beyond even the 8600GTS.. and be prepared to spend a whole lot more.

All good
Pros: Works.
Cons: Make sure you got enough room because headsink on a back of the card is kind of big.
Other Thoughts: I don't play games at all but didn't want to get the cheapeast card. Also I didn't want extra spinning part to break so I got this fanless card.

Fine Business
Pros: Quiet. Fanless. Competent. Windows Experience rating is 5.9 for applications and 5.5 for gaming.
Cons: Not a gamers dream. Then again, it didn't cost much.
Other Thoughts: Windows Experience 5.9/5.5 (applications/gaming). This is way better than I expected.
I did not install any MSI drivers or programs. Straight NVidia, by the book.
The board, including heatsink is 2" wide. You migh need to consider that, if you have a small enclosure.

Cons: wish i has paid the extra for a GTS its only $30 more now
Other Thoughts: i was having crashing problems with the latest NVIDIA referance drivers from the nvidia web site for XP 32bit. downloaded beta forceware driver 163.75 and its as stable as a rock

A good quiet card
Pros: 1. Quiet 2. Easy overclocker 3. Fast RAM
Cons: The heatsink is BIG. I had to modify my case to get it in.
Other Thoughts: I bought this to play BIOSHOCK. At stock speeds, there would be allot of frame stutter when the Big Daddy's were around. Bumping the core from 540 to 600(which it handled, no problem), that quit being a problem.
This is a great card for under $100

A8N-SLI Avoid
Pros: Quiet
Cons: Drivers not compatible with ASUS A8N-SLI MOBO running Windows XP SP2. Tried multiple different driver versions and a clean OS install and no luck. The system either comes up from reboot in sleep mode or with 4-bit colors. Often received the BSOD.
Also caused my DFI LAN party to require the dreaded 24 hour CMOS reset.
Other Thoughts: This card is HUGE to say the least. It kept bumping into my mobo chipset fan.

Perfect silence for my HTPC
Pros: Silent, inexpensive, dual DVI, great packaging. The card arrived superfast and in perfect shape. Couldn't be happier.
Cons: Only 256MB memory, but this doesn't matter for HTPC use. Gets hot - 82C - in my case, but this is well within limits.
Other Thoughts: The heatsink is big!!! Watch out! I had to replace my DVD drive with a shorter one in order to fit - the power plug was in the way. If you have an HTPC case like Silverstone LC-17 where the DVD is on the right hand side, you need a short drive for this video card to fit.

A silence that doesnt deafen!
Pros: Obviously as quiet as it gets! Stays VERY cool (40*C idle and under 50*C load). DX10 and fast. Stock cooler should be good for basic overclocking.
Cons: No ram sinks or cooling of the ram what so ever
Other Thoughts: installed in a extremely quiet system. The CPU is using the Zerotherm butterfly passive with 120mm fans galore, sound insulation, etc. Without this cards unique cooler, it would not have been this simple. Games are amazing in video quality, and I cant really complain.

Board doesn't work in Vista
Pros: None that I can find.
Cons: This product simply works horribly in Vista. I get repeated blue screens and video crashes ("display driver stopped responding and has recovered") when I try to do any useful work. This happens when the computer is just copying files, not even running Office. It all happens with latest drivers and MS hotfixes.
Other Thoughts: Web search suggests Nvidia just hasn't figured out how to play nice with Vista. I will be returning this card.

Update
Pros: Very nice card, it is a wee bit large :) I have about 3/16" of room above my North Bridge and heat spreader. Plenty O Room :) Keep the air moving in your case and your golden.
Cons: I ordered two of these units to go into my new system with an ASUS M2N32-Sli Deluxe. For some reason they sent me two different revisions, I mean very different. The whole layout! Same box though. I said okay no prob, not neweggs fault. The older Rev. had to have it's bios flashed to be recognized. Never really worked right. Tried to run them in Sli, No Go. Tested out 2 7600's in the system to make sure it wasn't mobo, No prob's at all. Finally after two weeks of Vista this and Vista & mobo that, tech support at MSI admitted it was the card, it is now in RMA with Newegg, thanks newegg, you rock.
Other Thoughts: This is a really nice card, other than the occasional DOA which happens with ALL manufacturers. I would still recommend it.
Using Vista. Go straight to the NVIDIA site and get the latest WHQL drivers, Very Important!!! Currently 163.69 as of 10-12-2007. I have tested 163.71 & .75 with no problems. MSI site is still at version 162.22 dated June 2007. Oh, yea, get latest hotfixes also, they are linked right at Nvidia download drivers page. Especially if your running Sli. or planning on gaming at all.

Great Video Card!
Pros: Kills my old X700 Pro. 3DMark05 scores went from 3757 3DMarks to 9751. I'm sure I could push 10k out of it and I plan on doing so :) It's DX10 but I doubt it plays those games well, however it plays all my DX9 games very very well. Running the card at 625/800 from the stock 540/700 and it never goes above 50C degrees at full load and idles around 39C.
Cons: Cards a little big and went over my DIMM slots. Couldn't use my memory cooler because of it, but not a big deal.
Other Thoughts: Buy this card!

Common sense people!
Pros: Silent! Doesn't get hot with my Antec 900 case. This card has been stable for nearly 2 months now. Installation was a breeze and didn't have any issues with XP.
Cons: MSI rebate hasn't come, yet.
Other Thoughts: If if have a small case or a case with no proper ventilation, use your common sense and do not buy this card and complain that it doesn't fit or gets too hot, and then give low ratings to a product that you shouldn't have bought in the first place.

Too Large
Pros: I'm sure the card would have been very quiet with its passive cooling, had it fit in my case.
Cons: I bought the acrylic cube case from Newegg. It didn't have the clearance for this card. Be aware that the pipes over the top of the card add a good 1/2 to full inch to the card's hight that you don't have with other 8600 options.

Quiet card. Finally!
Pros: Quiet! Yes Quiet! This is definately not 8800 quality but it packs a punch. I been through and experienced several 8600 and 8800's. This one come the closest. But dont settle for this one if an 8800 is what you want, They are the best. Otherwise a sweet card for the $$$.
Cons: she's a big one, but worth the silence. Only issue I have is only one capactor on the card sits right next to mt Mobo HS but not touching it. Not really a big deal since the capacitors dont generate heat.
Other Thoughts: Make sure you have the proper clearance for this card on your particular Mobo. Mine is the Gigabyte M57SLI-S4. With no problem. Even with the large HS I can still add another for SLI if I wanted.

Great price for mild gaming
Pros: I like that this card has a lot of options for the price. No fan, but thats why I got it (my other cards always suck up all of my dust). Supports 1440x900.
Cons: None so far for me.
Other Thoughts: OK I am not a major gamer (Civ and Sim ones mostly. With this price I might eventually get another and try SLI/Xfire (or whatever AMD calls it).

Nice, silent-yet-speedy card
Pros: Silent. That giant heatsink on the back is just asking for the addition very quiet 80mm fan, btw.
Cons: Don't expect an 8600 to deliver high performance from future games. It's just not that fast.
Other Thoughts: Passively-cooled cards get hot by design. The cooler is hot when in use, even when the card is idling at the desktop.

Insane Graphics
Pros: Easy to install, setup and configure. Heatsink looks sweet.
Cons: HUGE heat sink. even reading reviews before i decided to buy 2 of these cards, you can not imagin how big the heat sink is.
Other Thoughts: I used the heatsink that came with my retail AMD processor and bought a full tower Ultra case, so I didnt have any trouble fitting 2 of these cards in SLI config. Everyone that had looked at my box the first thing they say is "SWEET, look at those video cards" So even though the heatsinks are big and bulky, they look cool and run cool.

Nice bang for the buck
Pros: NO FAN, no moving parts means less to break. DX10. I get to play Crysis now :) Included software has some nice features. No it's not an 8800, but neither is the price. See comments.
Cons: Sorry haven't found one
Other Thoughts: The price was perfect for my new setup, so I bought two and have them in full SLI. ** If your running VISTA, do yourself a favor and stop by the MSI website, you will probably find a very recent update. They are really working hard on this.

Gotta love it.
Pros: No fans == no noise. Heatsink stays relatively cool, even during heavy use - my old card's heatsink was hot enough to fry eggs on. Easy install - love nVidia. ~80-140 FPS in WoW.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: My next step is a new motherboard and another one of these cards.

Pros: Driver download from NVIDIA site was a piece of cake. Nice and quite, seems to have helped my ArcGIS redraw speeds as well as animations. Coupled with a good connection, makes Google Earth that much cooler.
Cons: Size. Others have asked for actual dimensions, so here they are: 8 inches long, 5-1/8 inches in width, and 2-7/8 inches in thickness. No problems other than that.
Other Thoughts: It just fit into my Dell 5150. The fan shroud for the processor heat sink was very close to touching the card. If I can install this thing, anyone can, its that simple.

Cons: This thing was too fat to fit into the case I purchased for it. It was too tall! I don't think I've ever had this problem before... Now I have to return it for a refund :(.
Other Thoughts: I was so excited to have a fairly powerful video card. Now I'm too broke to afford a smaller one.

Nice & Quiet but large
Pros: This is good. Nice and quiet, plenty of power for the price and dual monitors.
Cons: This is not really a con, but if you are building for a screaming overclocker, using an ABIT 35 Pro, this card will overlap the ram when it's in the PCI-X 16 slot. So to change out RAM you will have to remove this card too. No biggie. How often do you have to switch out RAM?
Other Thoughts: Quiet. Very nice. I like it.

Quiet and and a 5.1 on Vista
Pros: Works just fine and plays Silverfall at 1680x1050 on high settings. My old 7300 barley kept up on medium settings.
Cons: Had to "dremmel" a little to fit a Dell XPS 410 case.

Works well
Pros: No fan required. No extra power connection required. Not the fastest, but a great video card. NVidia driver support.
Cons: Large heatsink, is a tight squeeze. No DVI-HDMI adapter in the box, just the DVI-VGA one.
Other Thoughts: MSI download program does not work in Vista64.

Awesome!
Pros: Fanless, huge and great passive heatsink, and runs as well as the X1950pro.
Cons: No free game!!!
Other Thoughts: Would definately buy again!

Quiet, Speedy, Inexpensive Linux Goodness
Pros: Quiet! My last *4* video cards have failed due to stupid, noisy fans. I can't believe how quiet my system is with this card. And of course, the dual DVI is exactly what I needed and wanted. They even include an analog VGA adapter and a component cable for analog HDTV. It was well packed. You can't do much better for the price, anywhere.
Cons: Docs are a little weak. The radiator on the back of the card is rather large. But it fit fine in my case. A lifetime warranty would have been better (some other brands offer that).
Other Thoughts: Popped it in and updated the Linux Nvidia drivers and it worked immediately. I went from an Asus 6600 at 3,477 FPS in "gears" to this card at 10,800 FPS! Linux Doom3, Quake 4,

Better than I expected
Pros: I bought this to be able to play Battlefield 2 (and whatever else I want later), and I'm able to run the game with all the video options on max, 8x anti-aliasing, etc... Sure, BF2 is a 2 year old game, so it should only be expected that this board be able to run it.
regardless, it's a great board for the price, and there's no fans to make the computer louder. Radiator seems to do its job fine.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: GPU can reach 59 degrees celcius when gaming, and idles at 48.

Excellent Card
Pros: Silent heatpipe setup, can't beat that! Performance is what you expect. A great middle of the road card for the occational gamer.
Cons: The heatpipe is mounted behind the card, so pay attention to your clearance before purchasing. It would of been nice if there were some extra dimensions listed somewhere.
Other Thoughts: I wasn't sure if this card would fit in my DFI NF4-SLI UT Lanparty because of the heatsink behind it, but it does fit quite nicely.

Powerful, Silent
Pros: It has silent heat pipe cooling technology: no annoying fans to fail and make noise. It installed very easily with Win XP SP2b Home as OS. MSI is a quality product whether it be MoBos, Graphics or other.
Cons: NONE ENCOUNTERED SO FAR...IT IS A LITTLE TOO ELABORATE FOR MY USES (SEE BELOW)
Other Thoughts: Would like to see MSI offer one in the 60-75 dollar range. Although I guess this one rates as a mid to low range card. I do like to play an occasional game and have good graphics, but not avid to the point of letting it dictate the whole design of my desktop.

Great Video Card
Pros: Extremely quite. The heat sink msi uses on this card makes this card the most silent I have owned in years and it disipates the heat very efficiently. I have a fan for cooling my previous card down that I so far have not even had to add into my system although I may soon just to help move the hot air away from the card and out of the case.
Cons: The included drivers and software at first caused some problems for me, causing alot of blue screen errors at first. I had to reformat my operating system drive and when reinstalling I used the msi live update utility to install the drivers instead of the cards out of the box cd as I did not want to go thru having problems a second time.
Other Thoughts: Overall even with the issues with the msi software included with this card I would recommend this card to others. I would definitely be carefull when installing the drivers off the cd though and it may be better just to use the drivers off the msi websites over using the drivers included on the cd. This is more nvidia's driver issues though then msi's problem and that is something to consider and not let it affect your purchase decision on this card.

Tough if you tight
Pros: Nice video card for the price. No need for newer power supplies with PCI-E power connecters. Can hold its own on just about any game I have played so far.
Cons: This card limits the use of after market CPU coolers. The car tends to be very wide and one must VERY CAREFULLY bending the copper tube to fit your CPU cooler and video card.
Other Thoughts: The plus side is older power supplies work fine it does run about 49C at idel a touch hot for me I have a MSI K9N Sli Platinum motherboard I was locked out of almost all after market coolers. If you have this board you may want to look at another video card.

Awesome budget card
Pros: Great price and great performance. Quiet and easily overclocked. Stays cool even when under heavy load, but I have good case ventilation. I can run Bioshock on Max settings at 1440 x 900 without a studder. DirectX 10 and Vista compatible.
Cons: Big. Heatsink is gigantic, but it fits just fine into my case. Make sure you have the room for it.
Other Thoughts: Very, very good for the price. DDR3 ram and Directx 10 mean it will stay up to date for awhile. Good buy for a budget system.

This thing is huge
Pros: great performance for the price, it's quiet, and MSI's overclocking utility is nice
Cons: It's huge! There really should be a profile pic of this card. The pics on the product page don't show the gigantic heatsink on the bottom of this card. If you have a tight case, measure carefully before buying this card.

Not Bad
Pros: This card doesn't have a fan which is always a plus. I played CSS and prey on high settings. But I'm sure your wanting to know about newer games. Its better than the MSI X1600XT that I used to have.
Cons: I turned Test Drive: Unlimited, all the way up ran pretty smooth. Only laggy in a couple of areas. Turning down to 1024X768 helped. I know DirectX 10 is going to destrot this card becasause it already gets 2 FPS on lost planet directx 10 with settings all the way up. The reason why I mention this is because, the 8800GTX can't get over 20fps. If I were you, wait til October for the 9800s.
Other Thoughts: This is a music production computer for me. I on occasion, like a little R&R so gaming with this card is enough for me. Since it uses the same GPU as the 8800 just with more bandwith limitations, If I really want to I'll just upgrade to SLI. Since It has Shader Model 4.0 Thats all you should care about. Because you can increase the bandwith just by buying a duplicate for SLI. Wont be a GTX but by the time I need an xtra one it may only cost me 50 bucks.

price/performance=perfection
Pros: A video card that is designed to be able to work without fans is one that will last (when a fan goes out on your vid card, it's most likely toast). So, it makes it work even better if you slap an after market fan to the grill or even on side panel case fan. This card is VERY well performing for the price.
Cons: Absolutly none besides the fact that the entire nvidia 8600 line only has 256 mb of memory.
Other Thoughts: The grill is a bit larger than the pictures make it out to be. It nearly sits ontop of my ram, but since the fins on the grill are easily bent/cut, it doesn't really matter.

Excellnet GPU, Silent, good heat sink
Pros: Silent. The heat sink/ heat pipe is very sufficient to cool the GPU. No extra 6-pin power needed. It's an 8600GT, runs very well. GPU also is well designed, and looks great!
Cons: Heat sink on top could have a better design (maybe a less round shape, or stamp "MSI" on it (Like Zalman heatsinks).
Other Thoughts: The heat sink is somewhat big on top, so make sure you have space for it, or that you are able to lose a slot above it.

Great Low Cost Card
Pros: Dead silent, no cooling fan to generate noise. Excellent performance, excellent price. Bumped up my WEI to 5.4.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: The large cooling fins on the back side of the card take a LOT of space, make sure your case can accomidate its needs before you purchase.

Pros: SILENT! awesome heatsink keeps GPU 52c cool under load in my well vented mid-tower. DirectX 10. Cheap. Good performance for the price. HDCP ready. (I have not tested yet) Low power consumption does not require extra power connection.
Cons: Large and oddly shaped cooling solution may be a problem in some small cases and some motherboards.
Other Thoughts: I had plenty of time to research this purchase. For months I read every review for every card I could find in my price range. Almost got a 7900gs. Performance in DX9 is a little better but I could not find one as cheap as this card. I can't say enough about how pleased I am with the silent cooling solution. I would have paid extra for this but it is the same price as the MSI 8600GT with fan! A hard core gamer should go for something with a little more power, but the FPS I'm getting with this card in current games is plenty good enough to enjoy playing said games. . AMD3800-X2 1gig DDR2 533mhz ram.

Great price for a great card!
Pros: It is silent, obviously. Runs all the games I own, including Oblivion, at max settings at 1280x1024, 32 bit color, quite smoothly.
Cons: Giant heatsink covers my only x1 slot on my motherboard
Other Thoughts: Use drivers from MSI's website instead of nVidia's site (use MSI LiveUpdate), integrates overclocking and such into the main panel.

Not Good with Vista
Pros: Works very will with XP.
Cons: Not a very good card for Windows Vista using as a media center. The Rock Solid Stable 6600GT was replaced with this card. It locked up constantly. Very Bad Vista driver support.
Other Thoughts: Do not buy this card for Vista Media Center.

Satisfied
Pros: Silent (obviously). DX10, though not fast enough for it to really matter. Pretty good overclocker: 540/700 --> 650/800 stable with no problems.
Cons: Fits fine in my case/MB, but I can see how the heatsink might interfere with larger NB heatsinks. Heatsink gets much hotter than I expected; probably not an issue but I ended up pointing a fan at it and now the core temp is never above 55C and heatsink barely gets warm.
Other Thoughts: Had trouble OCing with nTune for some reason; got rid of it and used ATITool instead, which worked like a charm. Also, if your budget allows it, you'd get more bang for the buck from something around 2 hundred. [Antec Solo, Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R, C2D E4400@2.5, 2x1GB Wintec AmpX DDR2 800]

Great Price!
Pros: DDR3, Direct X10. It's much cheaper than the 8800's for people who are watching their wallets. I bought it with the intent of overclocking it on a LCS. I'm waiting for my system parts for the LCS, but I can't wait to see how it performs. It stays VERY cool, even under graphic intensive games. SLI ready
Cons: It's only 256MB of memory overall, and that will become a bottleneck someday soon, I'm sure. VGA to DVI adapters that it comes with aren't the best quality, but you should be using DVI cables anyway :]
Other Thoughts: It's great performance for under $xx!

Big!!!
Pros: I cannot say very much about it as I couldn't get it into my case. Yes, it is big on the back side.
Check the dimensions of this card and of your case. It needs lots of space.
Cons: cannot say
Other Thoughts: Well, one would think that this card is meant to go into smaller cases (Micro ATX low-mid level Desktop). However, it does e.g. not fit into a Silverstone SG01. Other people had trouble with it, too. Well, I have to RMA it and hope that everything goes smooth with Newegg

Faster than a very fast fast thing!
Pros: runs Silent as lead brick!, does not created any cross talk on my audio card due to RF interferance like all the other 8600 card i have tried. Passive Cooling works perfectly, the copper draws the heat to the aluminum fins, which get good and toasty as they are SUSPOSED to rather then the procesor. over clocks well, and in fact MSI give you some nice little utilitys to help with that. Im running mine stable at core speed of 626meghaz and memory at 857meghz (which is actully 1714 as its DDR3 ram) and it only reaches 73 Deg C when running games flat out. Which is well within the safe operating temp for the processor. 3DMARK 05 of 10840, average frame rate of 35-60 frames a second in all the test. IT COMES WITH A FREE GAME!! ok so its a formula one racing game, but its still a freebe, which for this incredible price was unexspected. In a standard case (gateway GGT4016) it fits perfectly, no messing around at all. OH and this card is HD ready with the composite video cable!
Cons: wish i could get one with 512 megs of RAM, and WHY did Nvidia cripple the 8600 range to 128 bit memory width! Oh well, its still as fast as ill need for 2 years or more.
Other Thoughts: This was litterally 7 times as fast as my Nvidia 6600 256Meg card. It smoked it like a cheap cigar! DID i say it came with a free game!! Its HD ready, with Composite cables! i though only the GTS moddle was susposed to work with HD output, but this puppy works with it fine.
I love this more than a fat kid loves cake (I know becasue im a fat kid and i LOVE cake) but i love this card more!!!

Nice and quiet
Pros: Very quiet, no external power connector required, not very hot
Cons: Large heatsink made me remove the power supply and "adjust" the heat pipes to fit in my apevia q-pack
Other Thoughts: Definitely like how quiet it is and good performance for a midrange card.

Pros: Functionally, an EXCELLENT card. Use for games and HDTV. Supperior results for both.
Cons: Heat sink, while a TERRIFIC feature, had to me modified extensively to fit in a Lian-Li v300 case. Worth the trouble, however.
Other Thoughts: Passive cooling is the way to go.

Make sure your case is tall enough
Pros: Quiet and has good specs
Cons: Need extra space on back of card AND ABOVE CARD. I bought this for a HTPC. It will not fit in an Antec NSK2400 case because the heat pipes are too tall
Other Thoughts: It is clear that you need space on the back side of the card for the fins, but you also need extra clearance above for the pipes. The top of the pipes in the middle of the card are about 13/16 inch taller than the metal mounting tab on the end of the card (see the 4th picture on detailed pics for this product).

Nice card no Noise
Pros: Works at the same speed as a standard 8600GT without the sound of a small aircraft taking off when i want to play games
Cons: wish they had a model like this that takes one slot with this passive cooling with 512 megs and 25bit wide memory bus
Other Thoughts: The guys comments about the TV tunner are compleatly valid. A TV tunner is for taking ANALOG signals from Coax and displaying them on you PC... with what ever output device you have hooked to said PC!!! Dont make sisparaging and disrespectfull remarks, especally when you dont know what the heck your talking about!

Dude, it's not a TV tuner. It's a video card.
Pros: It's a video card, not a TV tuner. TV Tuner cards don't connect to your TV, they connect to your cable service. You'd use both a tuner card and this video card together. Duh.
Cons: People who don't know the difference between a TV tuner card and a video card with television output connection.
