Pros: For a cheap card it does great. I don't do much gaming but I do a lot of work on images and videos, it does the job well.

Pros: I am impressed with this card. TV -out is great ....Mail in rebate ?

Cons: Loud fan. Gets hot...Bought this card 08.28.08 didn't see that the rebate good between 09.01.08-09.30.08. Newegg shouldn't advertise MIR with wrong dates.

Other Thoughts: Would buy again....I hate MIR's....

Rating + 5 GOOD BANG FOR THE BUCK

Pros: Good low end card for a childs computer. I built my son a new SFF system a year or so ago and needed something just powerful enough to run COD2. We play a lot of older FPS's together and I wanted him to have something that would definitely push anything not current to its fullest potential. He can play COD2 maxed out on his 19" LCD with no problem. As long as he's happy so am I.

Cons: Can't think of any right now.

Other Thoughts: MSI makes a pretty good video card, but I would never buy one of their motherboards.

Rating + 5 Nice Budget Video Card

Pros: Great for light gaming. Never had any problems with it. Runs well under Linux and Windows.

Cons: Well, it's certainly not going to play Crysis on max settings, but what do you expect?

Other Thoughts: Played BF2, Oblivion, and several open source games at rather high framerates. Replaced with a 9600 GT for more demanding gaming.

Rating + 5 MSI For The Win!

Pros: In my opinion, MSI does graphics cards better than anyone else... They are always clocked a little higher and priced a little lower! Constructed of high quality components with a cool picture to boot! The MSI OC GeForce 8500 GT is no exception... The best budget card for your buck! Great for DVD movies, photoshop & light to moderate gaming.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: If your building a budget rig and looking for a video card with good graphics performance, this is your card!

Rating + 5 add a zalman

Pros: this is a great card for beginners and buget gamers. personally i use it in sli with its twin sister, just to kick up my ps cs3 image proccessing time. anyways.. read below.

Cons: The Card is great the hs/fan on the other hand is useless!!!.. buy a zalman vf900 for a cheap thirty bucks and stick on the included memsink's and then feel free to use the included thermpast, or grab yourself some AS ceramic. and use that.. either way.. i went from and gpu temp of about 51c w/ 72f ambient. to 40c w/ the same abient. now i'm overclocking both gru's to 700core / 700mem.. and my temps stay the same at idel and reach a mere 49c when running assassin's creed on max for a few hours straight.. lol

Other Thoughts: case is simple 4u rack case. front 120, twin rear 80's and a 550w rosewill psu. amd x2 5000 blackedition. 4gb of wintec 800ddr2. triple raptor 10k 36gb in raid 5 off my biostar tforce590sli. and whole list of other things i've all bought from newegg!!

Pros: None, uber garbage

Cons: Uber garb. Dont buy this trash, it costs that price for a reason. Runs world of warcraft on medium settings at 800x600, LOL MY 7900gs DID BETTER!!! Wow, way to suck nvidia.

Other Thoughts: Buy a 8800gts g92, i upgraded to that instead and it runs crysis on high easy

Rating + 4 Decent Budget Card

Pros: SLI support, DirectX10. It does not take external power; it uses the slow power. Small size works fine in mini-ATX. I haven't had any heat problems.

Cons: I would have expected it to have considerably more power than my GeForce 6600, but it's not that much better. It's a lot cheaper though.

Other Thoughts: It runs CNC3 at medium-high settings. Not bad at all for the price.

Rating + 4 Good Card, Right Price

Pros: Definitely a good card for the price. It can run pretty much any game at medium-high to high settings. Temps run pretty average, not as high as a standard 8500GT and the fan is really quiet.

Cons: It is nearly impossible to overclock it anymore then it already is. Every attempt I've made at OC'ing it has resulted in my entire machine freezing up or a BSOD. Going on 3 months waiting for rebate from MSI.

Other Thoughts: Biostar GF7025-M2
AMD Athlon 64x2 4000+
2Gb G-skill DDR2 667

Pros: great for price. can run battlefield 2142 all the way up with no lag. can run crysis w. most settings on high.

Cons: can't run crysis or hellgate all the way up.

Other Thoughts: I do not see why so many people have so much trouble out of the temp. Mine runs at 115 .F at idle and 129 when under a loan but will not reach 130 degres.

Rating + 4 Great for the Price

Pros: Nice... I thought this card would just be another cheapy card... BUT I WAS WRONG! I have: AMD Athlon 3600+, 2 GB DDR2, 450W PSU, Gigabyte S3 series MB, and accouse the MSI video card. what can I say, I can run BioShock at the highest with some lag (25-30fps). also runs NFS Underground 2 with no problem. I bought this card to replace the on board video (Nvidia 6200). This computer is just a spiar for parties. Nice I would say. noticable overclocking in it.

Cons: non that I can think of right now. Overclocking makes the card run really hot. -!BEWARE MAY FREEZE!- recomend getting a PCI cooling fan.

Other Thoughts: over all. NICE CARD FOR THE MONEY $.$

Rating + 4 Expected Less

Pros: The card performed much better than I thought it would, I purchased this just trying to get a budget-level card to replace my onboard video (which can't even play Warcraft 3) and was pleasantly surprised. The last budget card I got with an nVidia chipset (the FX5200) was a nightmare. Very quiet and runs pretty cool. Captures FRAPS just fine and dual-display works like a charm.

Cons: Really haven't had any problems with it thus far, although I never did get my rebate money.

Other Thoughts: At this point you may as well buy a 8800 GTS, which I believe they're selling for around $140, which is only a little more than I paid for this card several months ago.

Pros: Runs crysis at medium settings. i am satisfied with this card. usually 48-52 on idle and 68-69 on full load.

Cons: It is usually 48-52 on idle and 68-69 on full load. which makes some games run bad when its hot. so get a VGA cooler if you plan to OC.

Other Thoughts: If i could choose again, i would invest about 20 more $$$$ to get a 8600 but this card makes due

Rating + 5 SLI - Install Experience

Pros: I ordered an second card when the price dropped so I could run SLI. I was unsure how well this would work. I installed the card, put on the jumper, changed a jumper on my motherboard. It booted right up, found new hardware, installed the driver. rebooted. Then I just had to enable SLI in the nvidia software, and worked like a champ!

Cons: I dislike mail in rebates.

Rating + 5 Great Card for the Price

Pros: Great Price, overclocked right out of the box and GDDR3 memory. Runs better than most 8500GT 512MB GDDR2 standard cards out there. Plays Bioshock, Oblivion, etc at modest settings. Basically, for the money it doesn't disappoint.

Cons: Runs hot. I had to remove my side case and add a fan just to keep the temp at around 70C during full load.

Other Thoughts: I haven't gone SLI yet with this card but I just ordered another from Newegg for 39.99. If you want to take the risk buy open box, my last card (open box) didn't work after 2 days, I sent it to MSI and they replaced it with a new card for free. An SLI setup for 90 bucks isn't a bad deal in my opinion.

Pros: I have been running this card in my system for almost two months now. I have been very happy with the overall performance on everything I do, including gaming. Just for fun I recently pushed the gpu speed to 700mhz and found that it runs stably with improved performance.

Cons: None

Rating + 5 Great Video Card

Pros: Man are my games loving this card. I can set the game settings on ultimate and have no probs running this. I have had no issues running anything that i throw at it. In fact...it chews it up, spits it out and screams for more..."...Feed me, I'm Hungry!!". Really looking forward to getting some of my older games out that wouldnt run on my other cards. all in all...an excellent card for the price. Vista Ultimate 64bit gives it a 5.9...and the graphics are unbelieveable. LOVE THIS CARD!!!

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte ga-m57sli-s4 mainboard, Athlon 3000+, 256mb gforce 8500OC, 2gb PC6400, 500gb SATA II HDD.

Rating + 5 Great for the price

Pros: Girlfriend and I play Everquest II, she had an older 7300GS that got a terrible 2.7 on Vista performance index for gaming graphics. She had to play in almost the lowest settings. Installed this card, Vista performance index went to 5.3 for gaming graphics, and this is on an older motherboard, nothing cutting edge. She can now play in 1680x1050 in "Extreme quality" mode. She believes this is the best money we have ever spent on her computer :-)

Cons: Not a one... I wish she had an SLI motherboard.

Other Thoughts: Included software is pretty sweet. It lets you "tune" the OC of the card from gaming to "cool" to suit your performance whim. This was the highest performing card we could find that doesn't require a dedicated power connection. It also does not take up 2 slots (as does my 8600GTS), nor is it loud. Very good "bang for the buck", DX10, current technology, games and Vista love it. Can't ask for much more.

Rating + 3 No rebate

Pros: The card is great for basic se not recommended for anyone thinking of gaming. It works good for viewing HD movies although it's not HDCP, I use the VGA hooked up to a 40" LCD TV and it looks great.

Cons: It has been months and no rebate. This was suppose to be a good card for the money with the rebate, but since it did not get here it's not worth it when you can get a 8600gt for 10 bucks more. I aslo got the EVGA 8600gt and I received my rebate in less than a month. Now I know which brand to get from now, and this is the one for 10 bucks more.

Pros: Great price. DX10 support. plays CnC3 and Kane's wrath on ultra high settings (1024 res). Also Company of Heroes on highest settings

Cons: none. i just wish my board supported SLI so I could have 2

Other Thoughts: For mid level games this card rocks. Even using only one card plays just about anything you throw at it. DX 10 makes all your games look awesome. I don't know about high end games like Crisis, but the games I play look fantastic. Haven't experienced any glitches except in 8-10 player multiplayer skirmish maps, but that's alot of factors besides video card.

Rating + 5 Good Card For DX9

Pros: This Card is Very good for DX9 Games like Fear and such. I've seen reviews for the GDDR2 Version and when they oc'ed the GDDR2 card they got 74fps on Fear with everything maxed out at 1024x768, Soft Shadows Off. This Card is perfect if ur not gonna game on a resolution higher than that. Now the fact that this is GDDR3 memory, This card will OC MUCH HIGH.

Cons: Don't own the card but will order soon =)
Won't do wonders With Crysis lol

Other Thoughts: A good card for DX9 Gaming, Runs great with Fear, Quake 4, Doom 3, Halo, Halo 2 Etc, Saw a Vid on youtube of a guy getting 58~70 fps on Lost Planet in DX9 at 1024x768 Max Settings

System Specs:
Athlon X2 5000+ BE @ 3.2Ghz

Pros: Price.

Cons: NewEgg didn't make a package of 2 of these for low cost good quality SLI.

Other Thoughts: I read through all of these comments before buying. There's a reason everyone says 'should have bought 2'. They should have. By the time I realized I should have done so, they were out of stock. Just got my 'New Instock' email and came rushing back for #2

Pros: I have two of these running in SLI mode. They are very good cards for the money. I am able to run COD4 at max settings and I have had no issues.Comes bundled with some pretty good utilities.

Cons: Had issues once or twice playing Flight Simulator were the screen would blink rapidly during the game.Would stop once I pressed the esc key and then resume the game.( Not sure if it has some thing to do with the graphic card or the game itself, no issues with any other game.)

Other Thoughts: Oh..had issues with E-color utility. Just couldn't get it to work. It made the screen cloudy and no mattter how I adjusted the settings, it jsut would not work. Ended up removing that particular utility and things work just fine.

Pros: Great board when comparing the the high demand prices of the 7600 and 8600 gt's. May not be as fast or as good for gaming, but perfect for those who aren't planning on doing heavy gaming.

Cons: Definitely runs hot. I Have never seen it dip under 43c, but it usually hovers between 46-50c and thats not on heavy load either. All this with an aftermarket GPU cooler (Zerotherm 710) along with Arctic Silver 5.

Other Thoughts: If newegg sold groceries and hygiene products, I wouldn't leave the house.

Pros: great card for the money, tested it with FEAR and Halo2 and it runs them smooth butn not all setting on high. It is running on Vista Ultimate with a Celeron 420 1.6 Conroe-L cpu and 2 gigs of ram. Has a WEI of 3.8 due to the Celeron, that will change with a faster core2duo. I am going to run Crysis once I upgrade the cpu. It comes with a overclocking utility from MSI. Cards like this are selling in retail stores for 149 dollars, newegg 68.99 with 20 dollar rebate, you can't beat it. As always great shipping with newegg.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I do believe that the system will run even better with a
upgrade to a better cpu. The installation and setup were so simple "even a caveman could do it". Overclocking the card is a no brainer. Now I know it is not an 8800 series but what do you want for 68.99.

Pros: I bought this card for my wife's computer. She doesn't do gaming per se, but does like the occasional RTS and other strategy games. It was an inexpensive way to future proof her new computer for DX10 stuff etc. I decided to give the card a workout with some of my games to see what it could do. I was actually impressed with it's abilities. You won't be playing graphic intense games at high settings but it will play them with respectable settings. If you are looking for a budget card this is a good one. It is also OC'ed from the factory a bonus.

Cons: None so far.

Pros: Plays Crysis decently on med settings (gotta use a low res, but thats cool if you got a big monitor). It does play on XP-64bit, gotta get the 64 bit drivers from nvidia. Plays WoW flawlessly, and UT3 extremely well for the price.

Cons: Not really a con, but the red color really doesn't work with my glowing blue machine (see through panels).

Other Thoughts: Haven't run in SLI, but I may upgrade to something better to run in SLI mode with. This card is really a great low budget gaming card.

Pros: Runs TF2 quite smoothly! Silent fan, nice heatsink and no issues as of yet. Cheap price with the rebate as well. Great upgrade.

Cons: for some reason, the gamma slider is grayed out on the video settings... could be something I'm doing. Not a big deal at all.

Other Thoughts: This is an upgrade from my 6800 which died on me suddenly. VERY big difference.

Also, my computer is showing that the card has 512 memory! I know it doesn't, but one can dream ^_^

Rating + 4 Good Performance, Price and Fast Service

Pros: Great Budget Mid-Level Graphics Card. Plug it in and there she went. Color, resolution, brightness were pleasing in games with decent framerates. It is not as fast and nice as the 8800GT, but comparable for the price. Bonus for some: No needed PCI-Express power toggle required!

Cons: It was a little glitchie with some of the software I used until I updated the Drivers from NVidia.com. No problems now.

Other Thoughts: I ordered this card one evening, and received it the next day! I was blown away with the service speed. I gave this product a 4 rating, because it is simply not Top of the line. (Which costs more like $500)

Pros: Can run Compiz Fusion in linux with no problem (have used

Rating + 5 Great Video Card!!

Pros: Great card to run high graphic-detailed games on without any problems. Great price also $49 after MIR.

Cons: The software included does more harm than help. The drivers wouldn't even work well with my card at all. I had no video displays until I ended up tricking the computer to show me video so I can delete all the nonsense software and install the correct software.

Pros: This card is great. It is only 256 so high resolution would be an issue but I only use 1440X900 and I get 50-80 FPS on most games. With two of these in sli it would probably be capable of any game at decent settings. There is also room to overclock more on the card.

Cons: i dont have two of them

Pros: Running an AMD Phenom 9600 on a MSI Platinum K9A2 board. Great price, easy to install. The drivers that came with the card worked well. Good performance on all of the games I've tried so far (Rise of Nations, Starcraft, Warcraft...not too challenging).

Cons: I bought two to run SLI configuration and it doesn't seem to be supported by the board. When I plug both boards in and connect them I get no video display. I'm still looking for work arounds...any ideas?

Other Thoughts: Probably would have been better off buying one 8600 for roughly the same price as two 8500s. If I can't get the SLI to work I will probably end up upgrading.

Pros: Great price/value factor. Has fan, some cool utilities to monitor the core temp and such if you are into that. Easy driver update utility if you desire.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace my XFX 7600GT which mysteriously stopped working 1 year after purchase. So far this card is $100 less than the other card (of course bought a year ago) and works just as well. My use is mainly playing WoW and some word processor stuff. Everything looks smooth and great so far. Standing in Shatt at a busy time I get mid 30's FPS.

Pros: Great card. Right out of the box no overclocking gould play Crysis, be it on low settings but still played with good frame rate. Very low noise and stays at a fairly decent temp.

Cons: Bought a second one and didn't notice any performance boost at all in SLI mode. But runs good as a single card.

Other Thoughts: It doesn't need the six pin PCIe connector which is a plus. Just wish I wouldn't have spent the money on the second one.

Pros: Price, ease of install, MSI brand, performance

Cons: Runs a little hot

Other Thoughts: I am very pleased with this card - it's an upgrade from the onboard 6100 of my Foxconn mATX board, which did not run video very smoothly. Along with my preference for MSI motherboards, I have always like nVidia chipsets, and this one is no exception. While seemingly not as beefy as the $400 BFG 6800GT-OC in my last machine, this one is less than 50 bucks after rebate! I don't game, so this is definitely a bargain for me.

Rating + 5 Good, cheap upgrade for budget gamers

Pros: -256MB DDR3 memory (not DDR2!)
-Comes pre-overclocked.
-Overclocks even more.
-Improvement was immediately apparent upgrading from a overclocked 128MB 6600GT PCI-E.
-Runs pretty cool, even with the relatively small stock aluminum cooler.
-Seems to work more efficiently with some of the newer games due to the unified shader arcitecture.
-It's very quiet
-It's red.
-It's surprisingly good in the UT3 demo with max detail, plays Bioshock fairly well at max detail, and is usable in Crysis at med/some high settings. It's hard to say just how fast it could be in the new games, as my rig is an old Pentium D 820 oc'd to 3.06 GHz on a VIA PT880, which doesn't help. It should do much better in a C2D rig.

Cons: -I can't figure out how to disable the memory sharing in the nVidia driver. I don't see any option that remotely looks like it would change it, so it uses 256 more MB of system memory. It's not that big a deal, especially with texture intensive games that need the space, but it would be nice to be able to change it.
-The cooler blocks the memory chips from any open air flow, which also prevents adding ramsinks without upgrading the gpu cooler as well. Not a big deal, since they seem to run pretty cool anyway, even at 1333 MHz.

Other Thoughts: This MSI card single-handedly justifies the existence of the 8500GT GPU. Fast DDR3 memory combined with factory overclocking makes this card pretty fast right out of the box. If you're looking to game on the cheap, do not pass this card up just because it's a 8500, as it will run circles around a "standard" 8500. Surprisingly, it overclocked effortlessly to 666/1333 even though it already comes clocked 150 MHz faster than a reference 8500GT. I have not tried pushing it further yet, but I have a feeling more lies in store. Not only that, but it responds really well to clock scaling, showing a noticable improvement in UT3.
This card plays previous generation games (FEAR, Doom3, Far Cry) very well at max detail, 1280x1024 resolution, and even 2x FSAA for some less demanding titles. For current games, don't expect it to handle anything higher than 1024x768, but it can crank out usable framerates on max detail for some titles. I can't comment on DX10 performance, as I don't have Vista.

Rating + 4 Good enough for now

Pros: Installed easily into PCI-Express slot. Works great with Windows XP, movies played from DVD look MUCH better than they did with my old card (GeForce 4400) and so do games.

Cons: Will NOT work with Windows XP 64-bit, which I uninstalled anyway for this and other reasons and went back to regular old Windows XP Pro (32-bit). Trust me, don't bother with this card if you for some reason are running Windows XP 64-bit. Drivers were a bit of a pain to install, but otherwise work will with Windows XP Pro (32-bit).

Other Thoughts: Wish I had spent a little more money on a better card, but this one will do for now, until I can afford to upgrade. Compared to my old card, this one is awesome, but I'd like something that I know will make it through my next OS upgrade (to either Vista or Linux).

Pros: Comes OC'd which is a plus because then you dont have to waste your time doing it yourself. Runs COD4 at 800x600 res for optimum preformance, Runs EQ2 at High Quality settings at 1024x760 with virtually no lag (it can handle extreme quality but then it starts to get a little choppy), runs WoW with everything maxed out at 1024x760 rocking a solid 60 Fps rating. Overall great card no issues with it so far.

Cons: Doesnt come with a driver disk so you need to go to Ndivia's website to download them, not a big issue but just a minor inconvience.

Other Thoughts: Should get a 19" LCD monitor with DVI ports so i can get higher resolutions and higher frequency refresh rates.

Pros: I installed this on a MSI P6NGM MB (a small 2nd computer for my daughter) with Vista Ultimate installed - originally the it had a Windows Experience Index base score of 3.0 - this was the Gaming graphics subscore (OK for an onboard video) - after installing the video card it brought up the Gaming graphics (Windows aero) subscore to 5.4 and the Graphics (3D) subscore from 3.4 to 5.9 - the system has 4GB of 4-4-4-12 memory which is now the lowest subscore (4.7) - for a user like me I don't know if this is a big deal, however the graphics are a lot crisper and brighter

Cons: None so far, the system has been running for over 24 hours (I believe in "burning in period")

Other Thoughts: Utilities software to adjust the video card settings - I think the price is very reasonable -

Cons: Runs hot at approx 138 degrees but haven't used many video cards that don't run hot.....

Rating + 5 Great upgrade!

Pros: I bought this card a month ago and installed it into my standard Dell E521, changing out from an NVidia 7300LE. The change in performance was drastic and amazing! I went from games that ran on low-med detail at low fps, to games that ran maxed out with high fps!

Cons: The only problem with it is... I didn't get two! (And that's more my own problem...)

Other Thoughts: I've run it in several games, often for a couple hours at a time - and no overheating. With the rebate, this is one of the best cards you'll find - now my bottleneck is my processor (which is still a competitive one in today's market). If you are looking for a good card for a moderate gamer/standard applications, this is one of the best upgrades you can get. The size of memory doesn't seem to be an issue unless you're using applications with a LOT of textures to load - otherwise, go for higher memory speed, which gives a better data transfer rate =-> fps. (By the way, even the demo for Bioshock ran well with medium graphics on this card. Just make sure the rest of your system is up to it!)

Pros: Detailed manual, board layout is ok and decently color coded, booted up no problems. No problems installing and updating drivers in both XP and Vista. I don't play a lot of popular games. I'm more of an mmo type of girl. It runs LOTRO and older mmos just fine. I imagine it'll run new releases like AoC or WAR fine too.

Cons: Using 2 video cards will take up a PCI slot.

Other Thoughts: I don't OC, but the options are definitely there for people that do. Dual booting XP and Vista. I can see where the holes wouldn't line up for some people. Mine lined up a little off, but I had no problems screwing them into the standoffs.

Pros: After upgrading from a 7300LE, this card makes my computer much more usable for games & applications. While it's not a high-end card, it does a very respectable job with everything I throw at it (including Supreme Commander). It doesn't seem to overheat at all for me with stock everything, no case mods.
In all, I'd say this is one of the best deals for anyone on a budget who still wants good performance. The rebate only makes it better!

Cons: Some jumpiness in intense, high-texture FPS's occasionally, but not very noticeable. (May be other hardware/process issues)

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for ultimate gaming, this isn't quite what you want (unless you plan to get 2 for SLI), but it's an excellent buy for the average user.

Other Thoughts: It runs hot, but it never crashed on me. You can buy aftermarket coolers if you want for $15 that would get the job done. Great budget card with DDR3, ran Crysis without a single hiccup.

Always buy modern cards as Nvidia goes legacy quickly, it's an 8000 series card so that is great.

Pros: An overall great card, it runs AoE3 at max settings 50-60fps. Easy install, no size issues at all. Overclocks way further than the factory OC. No need for extra power either. Absolutely best DX10 card for the money in the sub-100$ category. OC'd in at 700/850(1700mhz effective). $55 is a steal for this card!

Cons: The fan runs WAY TOO SLOW. The stock cooler is the only bad part of this card. Use the rebate and buy an Accelero S2! No SLI bridge included (At least not mine).

Cons: At full load both cards held up at 70 degrees celcius. Fan noise seems to be the only problem, just buy a better case.

Cons: This card runs a little hot; 56 degrees Celsius idle.

Other Thoughts: Make this card run less hot, then I'd be 100% satisfied.

Rating + 5 Good DirectX 10 base card

Pros: Silent in spite of having a fan, Non-bulky, doesn't require separate PCI Express power cable, MSI Quality

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Dell Dimension E521, Windows Vista 32bit, AMD 64X2 4400+ 2.2 GHz, this baby and 3.0 GHz of Crucial Ballistix (2x1GB and 2X512 MB). Boosted my Windows Vista rating from 4.2 (with XFX GeForce 7600GS) to 5.3 for Gaming and 5.9 for overall Graphics which is a huge improvement considering I had paid same price for XFX 7600 GS few months ago. Doesn't run too hot for me. As always, NewEgg rocks!

Rating + 5 Great Upgrade from a 6600

Pros: Direct-X 10, Open GL 2.0, Kicks but on Test Drive Unlimited, and runs most scenes on NFS Carbon.

Cons: Not a 8800GTX, I need to upgrade my CPU (Currently running a Athalon 3200 2.2GHZ, any Recomendations CHEAP)

Other Thoughts: 2008 is coming and I merely plan to save money, what should my resolutions be?

Rating + 5 Excelent buy!

Pros: DX10, OpenGL 2.0, GDDR3, overclocked, it's a lot for the money. Runs Bf2142 with everything @ high and 4-sample AA, and runs Crysis smoothly with most everything on low (that's good). Some people have been complaining about overheating, I have yet to have this problem after 2 hours of use.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: I need to get more RAM, can't keep up loading the graphics this card can dish out.

Rating + 5 nice card

Pros: Good entry level DX10 card... runs all the games i play at medium to maximum quality... runs crysis on low settings, which is still great considering my setup is ancient... (3ghz P4|1Gb DDR2 667|this vid card) <-- ancient setup... still runs crysis on low settings...

Cons: none to speak of... good card for budget builders...

Other Thoughts: to those who say it runs hot... im not sure why you're having the problems but mine doesnt have any overheating issues... 6 case fans on my apevia x-alien case (only 5 running) and it stays cool enough to handle my games without artifacts or lockups...

Rating + 4 hot like robot

Pros: Handles stalker, halo 2 no problem with reasonably high graphics settings.

Cons: People aren't kidding - this thing runs hot. Don't buy it unless you have a proper setup - I had to buy a new case to get my case temps down below the high 50's under load, even with a PCI slot cooler.

Other Thoughts: Good for the $$

Rating + 4 Great Card for the $$$

Pros: Great fps in all games including COD4!! WOrks great with Vista with easy install.

Cons: Like some of the others it gets hot after 30 minutes of play. The bad thing is i have about 4 fans running and plus the one on the card and it still overheats.

Other Thoughts: Might as well get a pci fan to put on it, but for now use 20" fan on the side to keep the case very cold.

Rating + 3 Hot Price for an even HOTTER GPU

Pros: This card is nice alone, but is seriouse business when SLIed. If you want this card, get 2 and SLI for a cheap, AMAZING picture.

Cons: Runs way, WAY too HOTT. Just idoling, each of mine run at around 130 degrees!!! And I baught the PCI slot coolers too. I can't play more than 30 minutes of amazing graphics without overheating.

Other Thoughts: SLIed (these cards) = better graphics than one 8800GT. Much cheaper too. But they run way too hot, and Duel Core Center wouldn't run on my comp. so that I could underclock. I'll figure something out though.

Pros: This card is very fast and cheap. When SLied it kicks that pants off of most other VGAs for 1/3 the price. I would rather have 2 of these for under 170 than a 8800 for over 500

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: FAST. Get 2 and SLi them.

Rating + 2 Hotter than Arizona Hot!

Pros: Good quality Graphics! Works well in SLI mode.

Cons: Very Very HOT! runs at 178 Degrees F Computer locks up after 5 mins of 3D gaming. Heat sink is very poor and fan does not spin fast enough to cool it.

Other Thoughts: Works great for a few mins until heat builds up. Using Apevia x-navagator case with lots of fans. Cpu runs only at 34c Idle and 42c under load. Good card, but buy a after market cooler.
