Rating + 5 quiet is golden

Pros: No issues with this passively cooled video card.

Cons: n/a

Other Thoughts: P180 case with optional 120mm fan in the middle position providing cool air on this video card. Also running with passive CPU heatsink.

Rating + 5 awesome!

Pros: In my DELL DIMENSION 8400 CASE this thing runs at 61c while running condemned/bf2/fear/etc. all with max settings, including max fsaa. This is amazing considering i have one fan in the case, a 92mm stock rear vent. I bought a coolermaster case with a front 80mm and a rear 120 and the card runs around 45c under load.
Remember to download ntune (nvidia's own overclocking software with an easy gui)!

Cons: This card doesnt support dx10 so thats a bummer but it will be quite some time before you absolutely require dx10 for gaming.

Other Thoughts: upgraded from a nvidia geforce 6800 gt. Framerates are amazingly high in games even with max settings. This card laughs in the face of TES:Oblivion. This card also came with ghost recon: advanced warfighter - I didn't expect that.
Certainly don't buy this card for the free game but if you are on a semi-budget and want performance comperable to an 8800 buy this card.

Rating + 5 Great Card

Pros: Amazing card. Great, fast display. Can virtually take anything you throw at it.

Cons: big, runs hot, and needs power.

Other Thoughts: simply amazing. if you have the space for this card you gotta get it. it runs a little warm so have a good air flow system and make sure your power supply can handle it. if you got those things, this card will never let you down.

Rating + 3 Burn... NO ! honestly it`s FIRE !

Pros: Good performance i played Oblivion at Max, except for grass shadow, smooth view, no lacks at all when it`s under 70C degrees, awesome dising.

Cons: It`s not a joke you can literally BOILED WATER IN THIS CARD ! i got 99C the first time i played Oblivion, i din`t wait a second time because i thought the next time that thing could mealt my pc. I atached a fan to the heatsink and now i got 64 to 71 loaded. i don`t even think about OC.

Other Thoughts: I burned my finger when i touched it the first day of use.
If are Planning buy this card remember to pick up a VGA coolerfan, Fanless sucks !!! No Noise yeah... Cool, but i can fry an egg on my VGA, Come on !!!

Rating + 5 An Absolute Screamer!

Pros: This thing is FAST! It handles games like Oblivion, F.E.A.R., and even Vanguard on max settings VERY well! The no fan design really made a huge difference in noise level for my system too.

Cons: I don't consider this a con since I'm not into over-clocking my video cards anyway, but I wouldn't suggest it with this card. Make sure your case airflow is good, because this does get a bit warm. NOTE - It's never gotten hot enough to cause me any problems, so if you leave it alone, it's fine.

Other Thoughts: I've thought every video card I've gotten from XFX has been awesome. I think they make great products - high quality!

Pros: Fast, Stable, Quite, decent price.

Cons: Its a big boy if you have a small case you might want to consider a GPU with a fan. they tend to be more compact.

Other Thoughts: I am happy with the product I got better results then i expected out of the card

Rating + 5 Great silent card

Pros: Got this card as a replacement for a defective 7900GT which I have used for almost a year - thanks newegg for a great service. The card idles at 53/54 degrees F and I tested it running WOW and it didn't even go above 60F with all settings max'ed. Hard to believe it stayed this cool unless the temp. monitoring software is inaccurate, which I don't believe it is. I thought I was done with XFX but this card (so far) is COOL !!!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Still pricey. Before I got this replacement I ordered an EVGA 8800GTS 320 stock for a 30 bucks more. I ended up using the 7950GT for a different computer.

Rating + 5 Ready for Vista

Pros: Medium cost, connectors and cables included, driver stability for Vista/Aero, thermal, size, power requirements

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I read many other reviews and other people complained about size, power, heat, and Vista driver problems. Found none of these concerns to be true with 580w power supply, new tower case (medium size), and clean install of Vista with 2GB of RAM

Rating + 5 Great mid-range card

Pros: -Quiet...no fan = no sound
-Comes with decent amount of cables and software
-Pretty powerful for the price

Cons: -Could possibly overheat, I haven't seen that though.

Other Thoughts: I've personally been playing a LOT of CS:S, Oblivion, Dungeon Master, other such games, and under a load it was running around 55-60C, which is really decent. I have plenty of cooling in my case, but even with 3 case fans the overall sound is less than my older computer which had only 1 case fan, but a GPU fan.

Rating + 5 Great card with unique passive cooling

Pros: The card performs well, as a 7950 GT should. I am getting 3Dmark06 scores of around 5400 with a core2 duo E6600.

Great passive cooling system. It runs cool - temperatures typically 56-57 C, and it is completely silent. So much better than dealing with unreliable fans and their noise.

The radiator looks great!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I am really impressed with this product. I wish I could give this rating a 6 to distinguish it from all the 5's out there. I hope this sets a future trend away from noisy video cards.

Rating + 5 Great Performance

Pros: With 512mb Ram and 256 Bit this card can handle any direct x 9 game out there. Great cost effective performance.

Cons: This is again a large card and with the passive cooling you want air flow through your case. I would not buy this card for a small case due to potential heat buildup.

Other Thoughts: In an Antec 160 case with 3x120mm fans this card sits at about 45-70c depending upon what is running. So I would say to ppl that have high temperatures to look at the air flow though the case its in.

Rating + 5 Silent but deadly

Pros: Fast and oh so silent

Cons: A little long and tight in my case. Not as bad a some others

Other Thoughts: Without any appreciable dx10 games and apps out there I just couldn't see wasting money on an 8000 series card. Looks cool, plays fast and hard. Haven't really taxed it on all games maxed out. I have one low speed fan directly on the card and keeps it at 42c idle and 110c maxed but rarely hits the high temp.

Card was a bit tigh on my 3 year old Antec case up against the hard drives, but with a new layout case this should't be a problem. I couln't imagine needing to SLI this card unless you just need to brag about FPS. For $250 this is money well spent.

Rating + 1 STAY AWAY From XFX

Pros: Looks cool nice fins and heat pipes. It looked good with my scythe pcu cooler they both reflect the green neon light. good engineering on heat pipes and fins fit nicely looked awesome very beautiful card.

Cons: This is the second XFX 512 mem card that I did not get to use because of crashing. This one crashed during the install over and over. My friend a Micro soft tech said he could not get it to work right send it back doa. I still have my first XFX Card I bought a year ago this month collecting dust. 512 mem XFX cards have issues to work out stay away. I do not recomend.

Other Thoughts: Burnt twice by XFX I wonder if they will make it right on this card that I never got to use from a year ago suppose to be a lifetime warranty will post back after I see I would like to see a FXF product that works. They look really cool mabey they work for other people? Not me so far.

Pros: Great card at a great price. Love XFX quality and attention to aesthetics. I'm running at 1920x1200 and can run just about anything with all eye candy at max. I'm not getting crazy rediculous frame rates in some (i.e. STALKER), but everything is still very playable. The heatsink really isn't as big as some people in the reviews have made it out to be. I mean, look at the pictures. I thought maybe there was some sort of optical illusion and I couldn't tell how truely large this thing is and this is what people were trying to point out. Nope, it looks just like it does in the pictures.

Cons: This card gets way to hot way to fast with the passive heatsink. Now I certainly realize that running at the high resolution that I do will cause that. However, I thought that with proper case cooling, it may not be an issue. This unfortunatly isn't the case. When I first set it up, I installed an 80mm fan on the heatpipes because I was worried. Loaded up Serious Sam 2 and cranked everything up (except for HDR). It played marvelously, temps maxed at 62c. So I eventually took the fan off of the heatpipe and started playing again. Temps shot up to the 95c region, and while the slowdown monitor didn't give any alerts, you could tell it was affecting frame rate and playability. No artificats, but alot of screen tearing and skipped frames. Trying to OC this thing without modifying the cooling would put me on pins and needles. Another thought, and I haven't been able to fully investigate it yet, but it seems games based on the original UT engine have problems with frame skipping.

Other Thoughts: I highly reccommend this card (or at least the 7950 series) if you want an excellent card at a great price and really don't care for the 8800 series since there are no DX10 games yet. However, if you are looking at running high res or have poor airflow in your case, look at buying one of the actively cooled 7950's from another manufacturer. If you absolutely must have this one, a word of advice: a plain 80mm fan will sit perfectly on top of the heatpipes and will help to cool it down alot. However, there is no way to bolt it right on, so you'll need to develop a mounting system for it. Not hard if you're a handy person. I used one of those enermax enlobal bearing fans and while a bit pricey, it truely is silent.

Pros: Overclocks quite nicely. Comes with some very good software as well.

Cons: Runs very hot. I believe a fan is necessary to keep this card cool. Mine was idling at about 56C but after I put a fan on it the temp dropped to 35C.

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend this card to anyone!

Rating + 4 Not the perfect card but it does well for itself

Pros: One of the most powerful cards that will run everything on the market with lovely detail and framerates, and it won't even make itself heard over your music/audio track/sounds of glorious carnage! What's not to like?

Cons: Oh yeah, the heatsink the size of a microbus. If you're lucky, the card will fit your computer. If you're REALLY lucky, you can put a fan near it to take the heat off it (and with 68C idle / 100C load without a fan and 45C idle / 70C load with one, it's probably a good idea). I wasn't lucky enough to keep the original fan assembly in my case though, so I had to bolt the fan to the case itself in a somewhat garish fashion.

Other Thoughts: Good price for the card, but take some case measurements if you can. (Or if you're buying all the components in one shot, make sure you can get a fan onto the case - or a fan holder close to the heatsink.)

Rating + 5 sweet after 2 months

Pros: Greeaaat Card in all aspects. It's fast, high quality feel, XFX website is great, worked right out of the box with my mobo (Asus m2n-SLi deluxe) It truly delivers in all my games. Runs WoW without blinking at max settings (CONSTANT 60+ fps), CoD2 is running at 150+ fps (using DX7) and 50+ fps (using DX9), Counterstrike Source CONSTANT 60+ fps with all settings maxed, runs Company of Heroes with very high settings also.

Cons: None really.

Other Thoughts: My PC is in my dorm room which is pretty cool because the window is always open. My card is reading 39 degrees Celsius right now, RATHER COOL eh? I'm thinking about buying a second for SLI because honestly, I'm not too too excited about DX10 games and the games I play now will probably last me a few more years

Rating + 5 This card rocks!!

Pros: This card is absolutely pwnage. Every game i have is maxed out 1920x1200. These include BF2, Quake4, BF2142, WoW, BFMEII, Carbon/Most Wanted, Oblivion, and now Supreme Commander. I like it so much i bought another one for SLI. These 2 combined no game can stop me. Im waiting for Unreal3 to pwn the snot out of it!

Cons: Absolutely none except that the aluminum fins could be black!

Other Thoughts: For SLI make sure you have a GOOD PSU or it will pwn some rinky dink thing. The temps on it are great, but i recomend a fan blowing on it to keep it cool beacsue i lapped my HS.

Rating + 4 Great card - drivers can be tricky though

Pros: Good GPU, plenty of memory on the card, beautifully noiseless cooling. Runs EQII well with the right drivers. XFX support did their best to help pin down early crashes.

Cons: Hammering out the right driver needed to run with an Abit KN9 SLI mobo took a bit of doing, especially for use with EQII.

Other Thoughts: This card still seems to have headroom when my CPU (Athlon64 4000+ w/ 2GB Corsair PC3200 CAS2.5) is maxed running EQII. Only running ~65% RAM used, but the CPU is constantly running at 100% with the game on Balanced or higher settings.

Cons: Its not a big deal to me but this does need a fan. Anything will do.

Rating + 5 Great card

Pros: The consensus on the card is right on - the passive cooling is fantastic. Runs WoW at 1920x1200 for me at max of 58 C, and the lack of fan noise is wonderful. I started with a 7800GT which was painfully loud, moved to a 7900GT KO which was not bad but failed. So far I'm 100% pleased with the XFX fanless 7950GT.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: The passive cooling setup is a little bulky but not so big that it would be a problem in most average size cases.

Rating + 5 This thing is a BEAST

Pros: Fast as heck, but you knew that already, its a 7950 GT. What makes this card different? The passive cooler. The cooler is massive in every sense of the word, but it seems to be working well. The card does get quite hot under load, so make SURE you have very, very good air flow around your PCI-E slot(s).

Cons: The silver cooling block shown in the pictures actually faces up towards the CPU. This could possibly get in the way of things in smaller cases.

Other Thoughts: The fins on the silver cooling block are very soft and flexable. Be very careful or you may accidentally bend them.

Pros: Can run pretty much anything on max settings with great framerates. Came with Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, which was a nice bonus to test the new hardware.

Cons: Oddly, the GRAW game it comes with seems to make the card overheat or something. When playing it, I sometimes get serious graphical errors resulting in game crash and a computer that must reboot. This is the only game I have problems with.

Other Thoughts: This is part of a new comp I built to replace a 4 year old computer. I had a GeForce 5600 in the old one, pulling around 20 FPS in CounterStrike Source. This will run around 200 fps, just as a comparison. I am going from lag on minimum settings on any game to flying through any game maxed out. I am pleased.

Rating + 5 Very Nice...

Pros: Upgraded from gef6600gt to this amazing card Quake4, Doom3, Halflife 2 all whip maxed.

Cons: World of Warcraft, however, had no framerate improvement what so ever in fact the 6600gt may have pushed it a very little bit faster for some odd reason. I deleted cache folder, set my vid settings in both NV control panel and in WoW video options and still on par but definately not out performing the 6600gt.. Very Very Strange in deed as all other games have a noticeable if not glaringly obvious increase.. And on top of that in character selection screen the 7950 makes the char rotate at 100mph the 6600gt is noticeably slower ONLY THERE THOUGH! That is the only time you can notice a fps speed increase... All utils in game show < = fps to 6600gt btw I get 90fps staring at the wall, 60fps indoors 35-45fps outdoors and 25fps in major city with tons of PC around... Staring at the wall on the 6600gt got 110fps all other numbers the same...

Other Thoughts: Vista performance is still 10-15% lower than XP performance (4200+ X2 4gb DDR 3200 ocz-cas2). Gives you a 5.9 gaming graphics rating >8^) (now I just need to get an AM2 and some DDRII.. once I pay off the mortgage I took out for my last 2 upgrades.. ;^)

Cons: - Passive cooler does the job at 2D speeds, but not for 3D. You will need air circulating around it to keep the temps from melting anything. Normal temps are 60 idle, 70 to 80 under load. I don't have a fan directly blowing on it. Direct air sees 50 idle, 60 under load.

Other Thoughts: Great card if you have the air flow!

Pros: Amazing, Speed, Lots of memory, crystal image. Run Battlefield 2142, Counter Strike, Call of Duty 2, GRAW all on MAX. Not a noise out of it. Highly reccomend.

Cons: When they say its big, its HUGE. As long as you dont got alot of clutter, itll be fine. Not a big enough con at all to take a star away.

Other Thoughts: Buy it, NewEgg ships fast as usuall, definitly buy this card. 8800's arnt worth it yet, this is better then my friends 8800, so get this instead.

Pros: Its fast, dead silent, and stays cool even when under load. I'm very happy with it!

Cons: Minus one egg because nVidia hasn't released new drivers in a very long time and the current driver set has BSOD Crash problems with WoW. "Leaked" 8800 drivers are available and reportedly fix the problem... have yet to try it.

Other Thoughts: This thing does put out some heat and could raise your case's ambient temperature a bit. A well ventilated case is important.

Pros: I went from a 7600gs to this and what a difference. I never new my monitor could look this good! Great price for what you get and oh-so quiet. Looks cool too by the way.

Cons: My case (Antec 900) got kinda small when I put two of these in it but that's a small con.

Other Thoughts: No heat problems yet but my case has 4 fans. Every game and video on max without so much as a hick-up.

Rating + 5 Very good for a DX9 card

Pros: Good replacement for a dying EVGA 7900GT. Heatsink/pipe looks great in aluminum case with window. Room is quieter now.

Cons: Runs hot as others have mentioned. Getting around 47-50c at idle and 57-63c under full load. So far no graphical glitches or crashes. Shutdown threshold is 130c so I'm not too concerned about it.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have some decent case fans before you order this.

Pros: This card is super fast. I'm getting 150+ FPS in CoD2 with Dx7, but can get up to 70 fps with Dx9. In WoW, I get 100 FPS steady with all settings maxed. In CS source, around 70-80 FPS with all settings maxed. Runs Company of Heroes maxed at around 60-70 fps. Runs ALL my games without a hitch. Great quality also.

Cons: It is pretty big so make sure you have a lot of room in your case.

Other Thoughts: Just a great product and will last me a long time because I'm only getting an 8800 when a good Dx10 game comes out and I'm not too too excited about Crysis.

Rating + 5 Note to those on here who "Overclock."

Pros: [III - 03/28/2007] Yesterday my Graphics card went out. I did a fresh install and as soon as I installed the drivers for the video card, the display went out and flickered. It did not come back on. I went into Safe Mode and removed the drivers to the video card. The video came back on. After troubleshooting several hardware related issues, I decided that I would purchase a second PCI-E video card the next day. I purchased a PNY Nvidia 7300 PCI-E card this morning. After installing the card and subsequent drivers, I have had no video issues! I contacted XFX`s technical department yesterday and he suggested that I try the same troubleshooting issues I have. Unforunately, it is the video card that needs replacing.

Cons: III - 03/28/2007] I must add that my PV-T71JYHE9 was working has been working fine until yesterday afternoon. I have an APC Back-UPS XS 1000 that I use to protect my valuable IT hardware. The vast majority of my components are less than 7 month

Other Thoughts: [XFX Rep 03/28/2007] Hi, do you see artifacts or anything within the post process or during windows with the 7950? Also is your monitor dvi or vga? If its dvi try using vga with a dvi to vga adapter. Also did the display go out in the middle of installing the drivers or was it upon restarting the computer that you received no display within windows. Did you try pressing f8 just before windows and choosing vga mode. Also did the monitor show an message about signal out of range or anything like that? Also please update us with your current shipping address, phone number, and make sure your card is registered with us online. Let us know if you’ve done any modification to the card, overclocking, replacing of the stock cooling solution, as these will void the warranty and we will not be able to complete an RMA for those reasons. XFX Rep.

Note: OVERCLOCKING VOIDS the Warranty regardless of what is stated! Notice the excessive questions from the XFX rep regarding a simple replacement!

Pros: Very nice card, have had it for about 3 months now. Running all games at max settings at 1536 X 1280 on a 20.1" Widescreen monitor. Getting very good Framerates, roughly 60 or so on World of Warcraft. Though somewhat bulky, it looks very awesome and runs great in a well ventilated case.

Cons: None whatsoever

Other Thoughts: This card is perfect for anyone who wants super card abilities, and who do not want to lay down the money for an 8800 GT. Also, the shipping was great, arrived the day Newegg said it would.

Pros: Doesn't make any noise, as there is no fan. Runs cool despite the passive cooler. I have yet to get a low framerate in any game with settings all the way up (Medieval II, Sumpreme Commander, Oblivion, etc)

Other Thoughts: Despite the huge cooler, this card is sturdy and doesn't bend/flop in the case. No reason to buy an actively cooled version.

Pros: Everything I have tried on this card is absolutely maxxed out. I run into CPU limitations on some games such as Ghost Recon AW, but event hat runs at 60fps with all settings maximized. Card runs stone cold in my system (side fan blows right on the heatsink).

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: At first I thought why spend 50% of the entire system upgrade budget on the video card. Looking back, I think I made the right call. This card will handle future tasks for some time to come.

Pros: This is a great card. The build quality is vary good. Heat sink, big, but works really well with a side fan, witch is on most cases now days. I have it a bit over clocked now and its still vary cool. Not past 50c.

Cons: The big heat sink. vary good, But it doesn't even touch the ram. So the ram is not cooled..

Other Thoughts: I like this card. I got one for just testing. I think I will be getting a few more. I got a few XFX cards for other builds, And they all have had vary good build quality..

Rating + 5 Awesome Card

Pros: This thing rocks the house. Far Cry maxed out. Half Life 2 maxed. Same with doom3. Best of all it plays Oblivion beautifully on my dual core system with 1 gig ddr800.

Cons: Quake4 ultra mode will bring it to its knees but it also requires 512 independent free video ram minimum at that pace. But really it plays it on high no problems so this con isn't much of one. I figured someone else may be buying it to see ultra. I'll save you the woes. It might play it though with 1 gig more ram than I have. Should find out soon.

Other Thoughts: This is a great card for a good price. I have always upgraded my video cards at the 300 to 350 price range and have not been disappointed yet. I will say that this card has far exceeded my expectations.

Pros: Nice looking card, fast, no fans to worry about and very quiet.

Cons: Too big, if your case has some kind of air flow mechanism this card won't work for you. Poor 3D driver support for Vista 64.

Other Thoughts: The card had a major issue. For some reason, it would not start up in Vista 64 in low res. I was using an older LCD that can handle 1024x768 resolution and I was notable to get the initial display becasue the card will not start windows in that resolution even after you set the OS to it. I had to conect the PC to a bigger monitor which could handle the higher resolution.

Pros: Capable of being overclocked even more with the coolbit reg edit utility. Stable at 650 GPU 1.85 Mem. Quiet. Im running Battlefield 2 & 2142 in the highest res 1200x1600 and every setting on high including anti anti aliesing x4. Runs great.

Cons: Runs a little hot, by adding a fan to the heat sink will help alot. I added a 120mm and it allows the overclocking to remain stable. Biggest con I paid 500 bucks for this card.

Other Thoughts: I'm thinking of buying another one for the SLI setup.

I would have bought 2 of these at first if it was this price.

I have a 620watt power supply, X2 5200, 2 gig ddr2 6400, 3 160gb sata3.0 7200rpm 16mb cashe. I hope by adding another card to my rig, my power supply will handle it!?!

Cons: Only one I can think of is it's a huge card, so make sure you have room in your case.

Cons: Not DirectX 10 but i dont want or need vista yet this card will completely handle vista when im ready. Not an 8800GT but hey i didnt want to tun my wallet into the grand canyon.

Rating + 5 OUTSTANDING VIDEO CARD

Pros: The card installs easily without having to take-up two slots, leaving your PCI slots available for additional hardware. This is especially important if you install two cards in an SLI configuration. Although I plan to install liquid cooling, the card's design work great as is from the manufacturer. I've had no problems running as many graphic tests as I could put the system through.

Cons: Finding the right liquid cooler has been a nightmare thus far. However, I've been directed in the right direction for two different product, we'll see.

Other Thoughts: Running AMD Athlon 64 x2 4200 w/ ASUS Crosshair motherboard. Only using 2GB DDR2 at the moment. This board runs great and I've already purchased a second card to have installed and run in SLI configuration for high graphic games.

Pros: A little hesitant with the passive cooling idea, but after many different XFX products already under my belt I have never yet had a bad experience with the products or the company. To date it's the only Graphic Card company I have ever used and I knew if anyone could do it right it'd be XFX and right they did! I am running 2 of these babies in SLI on a now antiquated DFI Expert Board with 2 gigs of 2225 memory ( OCZ Plat rev 2) and an FX-60 cpu. Couple that with 5 rators 4 in raid 0 and one dual boot O/S xp/xp64 with plenty of cooling to go around in the TJ 6 case and were cool at 48 C with a 633 core and the Memory cranked to 1650......No problem oh and an all time best 3D Mark 03 of 36678 on 64 bit side. Boo Rah to that one! These babies are sick. Oh and did I mention they handle 1600x1200 res with 8x SLI 16x antialasing on any game like butter. So crisp so clean no frag not even excess heat even playing FEAR Extraction Point for 5 hours! Love em buy em abuse em. There that good.

Cons: I had to send mine back due to a damaged pin on one of the outputs. I didn't notice until i plugged in a second monitor and got nothing but a bunch of blue. But that's hardly the board's fault.

Pros: The card performs quite well. This was an upgrade from a GeForce 7300le. 3DMark03 score went from 3755 on the old card to 18761 on the new. Great frame rates, excelent 1080i HD resolution, and the card runs cooler that the passive cooled 7300le it replaced. The install was a snap, even tho the size issue was a bit on the tight side. This was my first purchase with Newegg, and I must say that I am quite pleased.

Cons: The driver disk that ships with the card is out of date. I had to download the newest drivers from Nvidia. Not really a big deal, as both drivers function just fine.

Other Thoughts: The card is installed in an otherwise stock Dell Deminsion 9150. It fit in the case with VERY little room to spare, so make sure you have enough room. Again the card stays fairly cool (47c idle, 65-70c loaded) even in a case that has only three stock fans(one case intake fan, one CPU fan, and one in the PSU). The stock 375w PSU runs the card with zero issues off of the PCIe power dongle, as the card only minimally requires 350w.

Pros: This card is completely silent! No fan, and yet I havn't had it even get close to overheating. The graphics are awesome paired up with my LCD 20.1" monitor.

Cons: Not really a con for me cuz it fit, but this card is quite bigger than I thought it would be. It's heavier than I thought it would be too.

Other Thoughts: If you have at least a mid-size tower and a decent cooling scheme this is the card for you! I wonder what would happen if I bought another one and went SLI...

Rating + 5 ExTreme?

Pros: Silent and remarkable frame rate. Very high quality display. Factory overclocking is ok but not stellar.

Cons: Price vs. performance vs. the non ExTreme version of this card may not be worth it.

Other Thoughts: This card is silent. Not just quiet, silent. No fan and a huge heat sink make this the quietest system I have owned in years. I have an external hard drive enclosure that is louder. The only real consideration is if the ExTreme version is worth the price difference over the standard XFX 7950GT. Both are great cards.

Pros: XTX did a great job with this card. They found the maximum potential of the G71 processor and they let it loose without the need for a fan.

Cons: It's a big card. Not meant for SLI if you only have 2 PCI Express x16 slots.

Other Thoughts: 3.0 Gig prescott/2GB ram@667/
I Played Oblivion full blast, balls to the wall with no problem. I forced Anisotropic filtering X16 and it had a few hiccups but ran pretty darn good after initial look around. Buy this card if you plan on running it by itself because the fins stick out of the back.

Rating + 5 Great so far!

Pros: I have this running in a single card setup with an overclocked Athlon 64 3200+(older, I know) in an ASRock Dual Sata2 Motherboard having just replaced my old AGP card. The results are astounding and this card can chew up anything I can throw at it. It even runs fine under my old Thermaltake 420 w PS with 2 GB of PC3200. While it starts to get choppy at resolutions above 1600 x 1200, I'm not too worried.

Cons: It's kind of unwieldy, had I a more crowded case I'd be in trouble. Still, I have yet to see a recently-gen graphics card that didn't have this problem. Also I have noticed that the power supply connector could be a bit more secure than it actually is.

Other Thoughts: With the rebate, this is a definitely a good higher-end card for the money. Probably one of the best higher-end DX 9 cards out there right now.

Pros: Fastest video card I ever owned - period. Silent. What else is there? Price is good now that the 8800s are starting to become more popular. I don't usually buy cutting edge gear but what was hot a year ago to keep the sticker shock under control (especially one year later when you look back at what you spent...). Am using it with an Athlon X2 3800+ and it appears I am CPU limited in almost everything I run, but the FPS are still great with all detail on.

Cons: none yet - my case is well vented with a side fan blowing right on the heat sink of the card.

Rating + 4 Cooling Fins make it a tough fit

Pros: This is a beautiful card. According to everything I have read, it should have performed very well.

Cons: Unfortunately, the case (for an HP Media Center PC) has a removable drive bay that collides with the cooling fins, but 3/8 inch. So, back it must go. BE CAREFUL about your clearances in the case.

Other Thoughts: Service was great, and I received everything from Newegg on time and as expected. So, after I submitted the RMA, I ordered my next card, (EVGA 7950 OC with a fan...).

Rating + 5 SmoKin Card

Pros: This in a AweSome Graphics Card! It Performs flawlessly in every game I own, from Far Cry to Ghost Recon. Good Air Flow a must, but it Runs less than 60c in my case with 2 120mm fans.
I'm fixing to BUY another ONE to SLI.

Cons: NONE

Rating + 5 The best DX9.0 c card

Pros: very quiet, overclocks better and comes with full version of Ghost Recon, comes with fan adapter cable.

Cons: A bit larger then my 7600 GT
card runs hot despite the huge heat sinks, ran 95 C on load, given my cooling isnt the best, but I slapped a fan right on the card and used a spot cooler fan and temps dropped to 69 C load which is acceptable - threshold is 130 C but I would't go there

Other Thoughts: This card will do a fine job until DX10 becomes mainstream

Rating + 5 Great card

Pros: Performs great in an Intel 975XBX2KR with a Core Duo E6600 (no SLI or OC). NewEgg delivered this quickly and well-packaged. I wanted a good _quiet_ card I didn't have to risk modifying with an aftermarket fan, and this is definitely it.

Cons: Bare bones documentation and drivers. but then again I don't expect much.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have enough side-to-side room in your case for the heatsink (P180 works great). After reading other reviews, I was worried this would run hot, but it seems to be fine even after long BF2142 sessions (~57C). I have a new P180 case with a bracket attached fan where the upper HD bay is, to keep it cool. I have done nothing special other than keeping cables out of way for good airflow and use both upper case fans.

Rating + 5 Awesome

Pros: Passively Cooled! Slightly Over Clocked. Works great in SLI!

Cons: Runs a little hot in poorly ventilated cases. This card is my second, lower one in my SLI Setup (the first being a standard clocked XFX 7950 GT) and in my P180 case playing FEAR, the temperature reached 90 degrees! I swapped it out into my Nine Hundered Case with a fan on the side duct and temperatures rarely exceed 60 degrees. Somewhat large so make sure your case has room.

Other Thoughts: Provided your case has adequate cooling, this is the card to get.

Rating + 5 Very nice card!

Pros: Very nice card. This card runs HL2 at 100+ fps avg. and CoD2 at 30+ fps avg. I have yet to play a game this card couldn't handle. This card averages 42c(108f) while idling and 52c(129f) at full load.

Cons: No DirectX 10 support, but you have to spend about twice as much for such luxuries.

Other Thoughts: Combined this with an FX-60, 1gb ram, two 300gb hard drives, and a 500 watt power supply. This is by far the best gaming rig setup I have ever seen in person (I know it's not cutting edge, but I need a new car more than a top of the line rig!).

Rating + 5 A great card for a great price

Pros: Absolutely silent, does a beautiful job on all the games I use, no problems with cooling whatsoever, video quality is high, no artifacts or errors. Works fantastic. Did I mention it is DEAD SILENT?

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: For the price this card is excellent. The best card to go with if you're still reluctant about Direct X 10.

Rating + 5 NICE!!!!

Pros: Great looking card. Runs FEAR and DOOM 3 at highest settiing. Heat is in resonable ranges. low as 40 at an idle. Highest I have seen is 65 (well overclocked). Made my Scores on all the 3D Marks jump ALOT.

Cons: None what so ever.

Other Thoughts: If you are wondering about my cooling? I have the Antec NSK 4400 case with the stock cooling (120mm fan running on low). I am excited to try the new game that was included (Ghost Recon).

Rating + 5 XFX - superb support

Pros: Fast card

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: XFX sent me this card as a replacement for a 7900 gt that had a bad memory chip. The support was superb, excellent response time via email (less than a day), they didn't run me through any hoops. Basically I told them it failed to run the free version of 3dmark, they said cool send the card in with no accessories (unlike some other outfits), and in a week they had sent out a new retail boxed card with double the DDR memory and a faster clock! Awesome service from this company! Buy with confidence.
