excellent low end
Pros: Excellent for the price (I see they have gone up as of this writing). Does all I need it to do, low end gaming, home use. Flies compared to my 1.6ghz laptop. Will be able to swap with dual core AM2 when I'm ready to upgrade.
Cons: Not the latest and greatest dual core, but good for the budget.

4 of these and still going strong
Pros: Price and speed
Cons: Single core limitations
Other Thoughts: I have used this one as a mainstay for desktops on a budget. Plenty fast for office and does well on dx9 games with a good video card. Great for the money.

Really nice speed.
Pros: Very fast, and runs very cool.
Cons: The fan is a little bit harder to get on than an aftermarket one I bought for my own system.
Other Thoughts: This was bought for a build for my dad, and he loves the increase in speed. He had a 1.2 GHz Duron before, so this is a huge step up in speed for him.

Shipped Quickly!
Pros: Shipped fast, haven't recieved my new Mobo yet though, so it's performance is yet to be tested. I'm sure it will outclass my previous CPU however (A P4 2.1GHz).
Cons: None yet. Just can't install it without my new Mobo
Other Thoughts: Will rewrite a new review (or edit this one?) when my mobo and video cards arrive!

Worth The Cash If...
Pros: This CPU runs most things very smoothly.
Cons: I would list single core as a con, but it's not meant to be a dual-core CPU.
Other Thoughts: Don't expect this thing to handle multi-tasking like a dual-core can. There is a noticeable difference between using a single core and a dual-core. If you're on a budget, this is a very good buy.

.
Pros: I say just get a 64x2 3600+ and over clock that baby to 2.2-2.4ghz and then you got yourself the equivalent of the 64x2 4200+ and 4600+. And 10 bucks cheaper than this.
Cons: .
Other Thoughts: .

Super!!!!!!!
Pros: Pros? What can I say? AMD comes through with a wicked product.
Cons: No cons, so why do I have to put something here?
Other Thoughts: Have been using this chip for over a month. Runs great, runs cool, can't hear the cup fan because my ceiling fan makes too much noise. I've been running photo editing software and some hard hitting games. Flight Sim X, Silent Hunter 4, Medal Of Honor Pafic assult. No problems.

Good and Cheap
Pros: 40 bucks cheaper than when I bought mine about 6 mos ago, still great bang for the buck. I play NWN2, Oblivion, Dark Messiah...it's plenty fast for a gaming box.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: If you are on a budget and want to game, get this proc and spend the rest on a nice video card.

Definitely worth buying
Pros: Good value. It has the speed for anything I want to do. The stock heatsink so far has worked flawlessly.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: I would say it is a great single-core for the price and can handle most of your needs.

Perfect for me
Pros: I finally upgraded from my Athlon Thunderbird 1700+ and of course the speed of the 3800 is a much needed change. And finally there's a heat sink/fan that is easy to install. No more concerns about punching a hole in your motherboard with the screwdriver needed to install previous ones.
Cons: The AMD sticker on the fan is a bit off center and wobbles like a hubcap ready to fall off.
Other Thoughts: The most pleasant surprise is how quiet the stock fan is. The other AMD fans were always too loud for me and I was ready to include another one with my order and glad I didn't. Also, the 3800 runs cool, about 20-22c.

AMD Athlon Orleans
Pros: Ordered this CPU by mistake. Was impressed with its speed. Excellent CPU. Unfortunately wanted the X2 so am selling this CPU.
Cons: None, other than it is not a dual processor.
Other Thoughts: Don't order a CPU according to socket configuration, such as AM2. Be sure this is the correct socket &&&& that it is ALSO X2 if you want an dual CPU.

Shell out $5 extra
Pros: Good midrange CPU.
Cons: 90nm technology
Other Thoughts: It's just not worth it now, if you're willing to shell out five extra bucks, you can get the new model with the Lima core that has a 65nm process instead of the 90nm in this one.

2500+
Pros: every thing with this is a pro much faster with overclocking
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: the person who says just wait and save your money and get an intel, honestly you only need dual core when it is really useful buy this its the best you can get for the money and you can nearly ovrclk it to 3.0ghz

Great Single Core
Pros: It's running 2.96Ghz now on the stock cooler. It's not going to do 3Ghz it looks like, get BSOD when it's up there. I guess I push it harder with my water setup sometime soon. Actually a killer core for the money. Waiting for a 65nm chip that works with my mobo to come out, so this does just fine while I wait. Posted a 27m 08s 32M SuperPi time with this.
Cons: Doesn't do 3Ghz like most AM2 stuff.
Other Thoughts: Running this on a DFI Infinity Board and it likes DDR2667 dual channel even thou the RAM is supposed to be maxed out at that. It's running well up to 750Mhz without issue. All on Vista.

Good
Pros: 2.4 Ghz, produces less heat+noise than pentium, my pentium 4 3.4 ghz + fan sounds like tornado @ tornado alley
Cons: not 2x, wish they chucked in free better fan from zalman + thermal paste for half -price

Good CPU
Pros: Great CPU for the money. A bit slow on speed but fast enough.
Cons: Not x2 core
Other Thoughts: If your low on cash this is the way to go. AM2 slot so you can just pop a new cpu in later when prices come down

Always outstanding
Pros: As always, if you go with AMD, you can't go wrong. Excellent Processor, and I'm sure it'll OC well, when I finally get a decent mobo. I was forced to upgrade when my way outdated 3200+ processor finally died. It did an excellent job for three years, and I'm sure this one will handle anything I throw at it, until I go to a 5000+ fx.
Cons: ?Cons? Why is this block here? We are talking AMD, after all. I just wish they would throw the thermal paste in with the package.
Other Thoughts: Newegg rocks. Ultra fast delivery, and the best prices on the planet. Customer service is also friendly and responsive

great
Pros: Runs great. Running Counter-Strike:Source 1024x768 on all high settings ON ONBOARD VIDEO! High performance for cheap if you don't feel like dishing out $xxx for the core2duo or fx series.
Cons: None. Shipping was a bit slow, but that was my fault. Holiday weekend. THANKS NEWEGG!
Other Thoughts: Epox AGF6110 Micro ATX, AMD 3800+ OC'd 2.4, 1gig Supertalent ddr2 667

Pros: Great performer that runs cooler than Intel P4's.

Great AM2 starting CPU!
Pros: Just upgraded to new MOBO with tons of upgrade room AM2 socket, up to 8 Gigs 800Mhz RAM and PCIx16. On a tight buget and this is a great starting CPU pretty darn fast for under $xxx and 512 cache L2
Cons: Not Dual-core, but not Dual-core price either.

Nice CPU
Pros: I have this sitting in a MSI K9N Platinum and it works great with the stock heatsink. I have it overclocked a little through MSI's Dynamic overclocking utility and it speeds it up a little which is fine for what I do. Plays FEAR, Quake 4, Call of Duty 2, and others without a big problem granted they are not at the highest settings.
Cons: None so far. No overheating problems yet.

Great CPU
Pros: I have always used AMD and once again I have no problem with this one.
Cons: None so far, and I don't forsee any.
Other Thoughts: For the price this was a great buy. This is the fisrt time I have used Newegg, but it will not be my last! They got my stuff to me the week of Christmas in three days! They have the best prices I have found and have a lot of products to choose from.

It's ok
Pros: Faster than my old 2500
Cons: Don't waste nearly $100 for this one, save and if you want AMD get nothing less than dual core 4000 and nothing less than 1mb of cache memory, personally I'm saving and getting an Intel E6300 at around $180 and hope it drops more soon, just save your cash and it will drop while your saving,
Other Thoughts: If you only want to do basic things like email and play some old games and no multi-tasking at all, then it's ok, but for the cost, I would just save and get more later.

Running at 2700
Pros: Running at 2700 MHz on the ADA3800CNBOX version. Stock HSF.
Cons: None really.
Other Thoughts: My mobo held back going any higher. If you're going AM2 and want to go water cooling get a really good mobo so you can adjust everything.
My mobo prohibited the voltage of the CPU from exceeding 1.55v.
Right now it's 1.55v 225x12 ram at 5-5-5-15 1.9v, mobo Abit KN9S.

Pros: I got this little sister a little AM2 AMD 3800+ can't get no better for cheap and nice cool little fast single CPU I have OC to 2.7 did well on stock to bad wish it had heatpipe cooling HSF to come with.
Cons: Never had Cons great AMD always had good stuff

AWESOME
Pros: got this the other day put it into my new computer and my computer is blazing fast, I got a nvidia 7600GS 512mb ram, and this system is awesome, I gotta get more ram for the MOBO and I just ordered a 250GB SATA 3gb/s today from NEWEGG I love newegg this place is so much cheaper than any other store Ive come across. I highly recommend this processor though in 6mo I will be buying a 2.8ghz dualcore processor but for now this is awesome
Cons: the only thing I didnt like was I bought this processor on a monday and got it tuesday the next week so 3 business days was bull... but its ok now, I guess

Cons: single core. thats it.lol

great processor
Pros: one of the fastest processors for the money in the low 1xx range. buy a low end chip that exceeds most needs for a good price and in 2 yrs when the socket type is defunct buy the top end chip for that socket at a bargain price and keep that puter going strong for another yr or 2
Cons: not dual core but even then check the bench marks the dual cores aren't all that much of a upgrade for the price difference.
Other Thoughts: none.

Not too bad!
Pros: I have had many single core CPU's. All of them work, some are better than other. This one, 2.4GHz/512Mb L2 seems to really fly! For the price, any comparable pentium CPU is slower.
Cons: For this price, none! 1Mb L2 is nice, dual cores rock and higher frequencies boost performance. All of which cost $$$ to obtain!
Other Thoughts: ASUS M2NBP-VM CSM, AM2 3800+ 2.4GHz, Kingston KVR667D2N5K2/2G, XFX 7600GT PVT73GUGE3, Hauppauge WINTV401, Seagate 7200.9 400GB SATA II, Soundblaster X-FI 7.1. REALLY STABLE-Good Linux Box. Sound Card has/had issues in Linux! Works in Ubuntu, Sabayon and Fedora

Pretty Frikin fast!
Pros: Plays most of my games on high settings, and plays battlefield 2 on medium settings pretty well
Cons: I don't know for sure if the sorta loud fan noise is from my CPU fan or my PSU, but if its from my CPU fan then, it's a little loud
Other Thoughts: If you want a computer to play games like battlefield 2 on medium settings on descent frame rates, or not so demanding games on really high settings and don't want to spend too much money, get 1GB of 667 Mhz DDR2 RAM, and this CPU, and you'll be all set.

Great CPU for Price!
Pros: This was my first build and it was so easy to install. I got this to hold me off until dual-cores drop to around $xxx or so next year, but I might keep this longer. It runs very cool and quiet. Runs all my apps and games with no hitches. AMD has the value market over Intel anyday.
Cons: None so far, besides only single-core.
Other Thoughts: Get it if you don't have the money to buy a dual-core yet. I love it, you will too. Also, I got this when it was $xxx, then Newegg, for some reason, increased it to $xxx. These AM2 64s are hard to find and low stock. But if you cant afford duallies, and dont want semps, then get this.

FAST but get 3000+
Pros: This is a great proc!! however, get the chepest AM2 Athlon out there, not this one they run cold overclocked. I have a 3000+ and it runs at 32c idle at 2.5 GHz
Cons: GET CHEAPER VERSION RUNS SAME SPEED OVR'CLCK AT COLD TEMPS FOR LE$$
Other Thoughts: What happened to San Diego? 1 MB L2, single-core? I love AMD but why don't they bring back San Diego?
FX-55 (2.6 GHz) San Diego is 199.99 buy it. love San Diego!

Speed and power!
Pros: Processor has 2.4 GHz. out of the box and runs very cool. 2.7 GHz. is no problem with the factory cooler! Very fast boot-up using Windows XP X64. I rate it 7 out of 10 for gaming. Scores well with 3D Mark v6.
Cons: Not a dual core with larger cache. I purchased it from NewEgg in July when prices were a bit higher. (it was still a good buy then)
Other Thoughts: Unless you want to mutitask with multiple programs while burning disks, this processor is very economical and fast! It will handle mutiple tasks very well for easily 90% of home users. Extremely stable at stock clock (Opteron based) and with 2-3 MHz. overclocks with the supplied HSF.

easy overclocker
Pros: This is one of the easiest processors to overclock, 2.8 easy and still going @ stock voltage. Easily worth the price. Socket AM2. DDR2. What, more?
Cons: Not dual core.....
Other Thoughts: Probably one of the best buys considering price/performance. Still not dual core.

Excellent, Love AMD
Pros: I am a big AMD fan, always rock solid. I purchases this single core as a cheap in-between until the dual cores fall in price. Excellent performance for the price.
Cons: None.
