Excellent Processor
Pros: Extremely fast single core cpu. It can definately without overclocking have allmost identical performance to dual core cpus. A good buy. Still using it in a 939 socket 4000+ motherboard with 1000 FSB and running Vanguard at high detail perfectly smoothly. Never gets above 32 degrees with a fan that runs at only 2300 RPM.
Cons: Absolutely nothing. Very glad this was the chip that came in my motherboard.

Awesome CPU
Pros: I used this for my first build and i am not dissapointed. Correct me if im wrong, but i believe this is the fastest single-core CPU AMD makes. Runs every game i throw at it without overclocking. It keeps cool under my Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 pro at ~25*C. Excellent value, although i wish i waited until it dropped to half the price! Oh well, i don't regret my buy.
Cons: Not Dual-Core, dosent make my breakfast, not hot enough to warm up my room.

Pros: Used this processor for my first build. No problems whatsoever. Using stock FHS and playing GRAW,BF2, etc and only seeing 43C after playing for awhile.
Cons: NONE
Other Thoughts: Used with Biostar nForce4 mobo, Win XP. No trouble at all. Highly recommend it. Haven't tried the mobo's O/C feature, but I will in the near future.

Very Nice
Pros: Well To start off this proc is one AMAZING single core chip. Its Overclockability is pretty good although i wouldnt recomend going over about 2.8 without water cooling. Runs any game with ease staying at fairly good temps around 50c when under a load. San Diego did it again. This chip has pretty nice cache to it. No Problems Yet Thanks!
Cons: None really except when you overclock it tends to get pretty hot. Like I said before wouldnt go over 2.8 unless you have water cooling.
Other Thoughts: Ive been an amd fan for a loong time. AMD has always done well and done good with its computer components. This chip is without a doubt the best single core chip there is. And i say that from owning about every single chip.

Nice
Pros: Its a nice processor. with the stock heatsink, and a 5200 RPM fan, uasually running at about 3100 rpm's, it runs at about 34-38 degrees, with room temp about 75-80. The higest i have ever seen it is about 55 degrees under extreme load. I went from a 2800+ athlon. its a noticibly faster in windows, and a little bit faster in games. a good processor, but go with an X2 if you can. neverless, a great processor
Cons: Not as fast as i thought it would perform in games.
Other Thoughts: Nice upgrade, would problly run geat in vista, runs really cool with stock heatsink and artic silver 5, allways, AMD, ATI, Newegg, and Fedex.

WOW
Pros: This thing is incredably fast. I didn't even have to overclock it. I have it paired with a X850XT and 1GB of memory and all the games run great. playing call of duty 2 like if it was on a xbox 360.
Cons: bought it in march when it was $350. :(

Good performance for the $
Pros: Excellent product. I ran the benchmarks and it out performs my old PowerMac G4 Dual processor by a LONG shot. Of course my old mace is 6 years old. I can say I am very happy with the product and for the price, you can't beat it.
Cons: Could of should of would of...is what I say about this. Single core CPUs are a fading technology.
Other Thoughts: I paid 2x more for this product back in July 2006. So, you know I am mad now that the dual core CPUs are a lot cheaper now. I could of waited a few more months then I would of gotten a dual core. I would of gone dual core. But I'll upgrade when I need to now, not when I want to. There is no point in me getting another CPU when this one works just fine. I did use a aftermarket heatsink/fan so I don't know how the OEM heatsink/fan compares to it.

Great Value
Pros: Price? This is perhaps the best CPU out there for it's value. In my personal experience Single core CPUs perform at hihger benchmarks than dualcore. Considering this is the highest single core processor besides the FX series this CPU becomes the best out there. Overclocking was a beauty on this CPU. Went from 2.4Ghz to a whopping 3.8Ghz! This performed superior to my other computer using an FX-55.
Cons: The stock cooling wasn't that great. Even before overclocking it ran a bit hot and was loud when running games and photoshop.
Other Thoughts: If you plan on overlocking get watercooling. Even if you aren't; upgrade to a cooler with heatpipes and a bigger heatsink and fan.

Cons: None, other than it doesn't include a hot blonde to help you install it ;) LoL...
Other Thoughts: None, other than the price dropped $xx two days after i bought it LoL, but thats no problem it was well worth it...

Very nice... And cool
Pros: Roughly twice the performance as I was getting out of my little athlon xp 2000+! Currently running lower temps with stock heatsink and fan than I was getting with the old xp 2000! Lots of you say that the stock heatsink and fan suck, but really you can't complain too much. 37c idle 51c load. That's with the thermal compound that was shipped with it! Just make sure you get the thing seated properly and then give it a "little" 1/2 to 1 degree twist clockwise, then counterclockwise. AMD gives a three year warranty on this bad boy if you use the stock HSF unit, that's nothing to complain about either!
Cons: I have no cons with this chip... except that it is not a dual core. Also to get a dual core that will run games at this performance level I would have to get an x2 4800!! But I suppose this is not really a con is it!
Other Thoughts: Get it. You will not be dissapointed! This is the fastest single core this side of an FX-55 that AMD makes!! Make sure you have proper case ventilation, without it you probably will have heat issues.

It's a beast...
Pros: seriously is the fastest single-core cpu I have ever used, it just eats everything up; even with dual-core out... this price is unbeatable!
Cons: none at all
Other Thoughts: i have this cpu paired with a gig of corsair XMS PC3200 and it pretty much just flies... even with a 6600gt

Pros: the chip works great on my lanparty mobo. no problems at all
Cons: not really any
Other Thoughts: If I had waited 5 months i could have got the duel core for the same price. The prices are dropping like crazy.

yeah baby...
Pros: best performing 939 single core processor you came find! AWSOME when matched with at least a gig of high performance memory.
Cons: it doesn't do the dishes, vaccuum the floor, or clean the toilet.
Other Thoughts: now that the price is once again reasonable, you can't pass this one up if can afford a little more than a buck. And... NewEgg came through without exception!

works but its a little hot
Pros: 1MB l2/2.4 AMD ROCKS!!
Cons: Its runs hotter then my old 754 3700 at 2.4...no biggie
Other Thoughts: I used to be an Intel geek for years..But after building a few amds..they just rock in gaming!!I dont overclock amds..they dont need it if ya got 1MB l2 and 2gb system ram with a decent card...U will be good

Pros: Nothing specific.
Cons: None!

Loyal AMD User
Pros: Great raw computing power with 1MB Cache. Proven, reliable platform. I don't multi-task, so this is perfect for me. Big improvement from the 3000+.
Cons: No con for me or the proc. but price is up 50% from when I bought it three weeks ago.
Other Thoughts: Bought this to upgrade a second computer, and with slight oc it runs almost as fast as my FX55 at stock that I bought a year ago for almost a grand, ay caramba!

Athlon 64 FX... what?
Pros: Just as fast as a Athlon 64 fx-55... half the price. Just Oc a little.
Cons: Nada.
Other Thoughts: Single core processors are not bad! How many dual-core apps are there really? Play a game and then encode your music.

Impressed with AMD
Pros: Great value for money. I switched from Intel to AMD after 10 years, very impressed, low price for a high performance single core architecture.
Cons: None thus far, look foreward to the AMD equivalent of the Intel Conroe chip technology
Other Thoughts: Had P4 and Intel D 3.0 GHz before, both lacks in the AMD performance at low temperature, AMD clearly has the overal edge.

woooooooooo
Pros: wow! this is a great processor. ust built my new gaming rig, i can turn all the graphics up all the way and everything runs smooooooth. resolution,AA, you name it, crank them up. overclocked to 2.81 ghz and idles about 40c load is about 46c
Cons: no,no,no,
Other Thoughts: my first AMD but not my last, no more intel, AMD all the way. intel brags about their new cor 2 duo beating AMD's fx62, but lets look at reality, intel just released that processor and AMD's have all been out for a while kicking you know what. the next AMD will blow the intel core 2 duo out of the water. bye bye intel.

An artifact of AMD's dominance
Pros: This CPU is basically an AMD FX-53 under the Athlon64 monicker.
This CPU serves as an artifact of AMD's engineering prowess. This low-power, low-clock speed (compared to Intel at the time of its release) CPU crushed every Intel CPU at the time, and still dominates almost everything pre-Core 2 Duo. Aside from the FX line, it's the fastest single-core CPU AMD ever spun. Get 'em while they're cheap and build a great gaming system with this one. Overclocks and runs at smoothly at 2.7GHz without even trying. These 1MB L2 cache chips are pretty rare.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: This CPU debuted for over $700 USD and is now within range of most people's CPU budgets. Granted, for a general purpose system, it's probably worth the few extra bucks for an X2, but there are plenty of applications where this CPU will wipe the floor with the X2 3800+.

blazin
Pros: I have my 4000+ running on xp pro x64 and it runs windows like a dream, it has no problems loading apps or games. I upgraded from a 3200+ rev E or venice core. I got my 3200+ brand new for about the same price I just paid for this 4000+ not to mention shipping was free, you can not beat that. This cpu raised my cpu scores in pcmark 04 over 1000 marks from my 3200+. All in all if your a gamer or into video encoding etc this cpu wont let you down for this price. I am a firm believer in get it when its cheap.
Cons: none

fast and cheap
Pros: fast and cheap - included heatsink and fan are adiquit - current around 45-50C under full load (thanks to the Lexa case) and i've seated the heatsink a few times due to a bad board so this should be even better once the new artic arrives for the new board.

Last hurrah of Skt939 A64
Pros: This is kick-as*, hardcore processor. With its well-crafted IHS, 2.4MHz clock speed, 1MB L2 cache and the legendary San Diego core, this is one of the fastest single-core socket 939 CPUs in existence. For gaming, media encoding, and Windows snappiness, this is your CPU. Sure a low-end X2 will give you better overall performance for multitasking, but nothing beats the raw performance of this proc.
Cons: Stock HFS is garbage, a TDP lower than 89W would be nice.
Other Thoughts: The X2 3800+ is now within about an Andrew Jackon of this CPU, and both are great procs. I decided to go with this instead for my HTPC PC since the A64 3200+ just wasn't cutting it. I feared that the X2 3800+, which is really just two 3200s on the same die, wouldn't alleviate the processing problems I was having. So I went with the 4000+ instead. If you're wondering why a A64 3200+ wasn't enough for a HTPC, you should try running Vista MCE with dual tuners and you will see what I mean.

Can't beat price/performance point
Pros: Fastest Athlon 64 at an excellent value after price drop. For gamers like myself this single core cpu will equal and in some cases out perform dual core cpus. Highly overclockable but hardly necessary.
Cons: None. Only downer is that this is the end of the Athlon 64 line of cpus. Next upgrade will probably be an Intel Core 2 Duo based system.
Other Thoughts: Current setup: Athlon 64 4000+ (upgraded from A64 3700+) eVGA nForce4 SLI mobo 2GB OCZ DDR400 Mem GeForce 7800GT PCI-e

Great Value
Pros: The performance to price ratio is fantastic, and in the overall scheme of things the performance is nothing to mock. Easy to overclock without overheating, even with stock cooling.
Cons: Not multicore, but still handles multiple tasks with the best of single core solutions.

Pros: Fast processor at 2.4ghz.
Decent overclockability, I am able to get 2.8ghz out of mine using clockgen and adjusting the cpu voltage and ram timings.
Cheap now with the price cuts from AMD.
Running at a cool 32C idle clocked at 2.8ghz and 48C stress test with OCCT and Prime95.
Cons: Maybe not worth it to spend money on an AMD right now with the conroe out that will spank this thing.
Not dual core, if you run multiple programs you will see slow downs.
Other Thoughts: 3dmark06 suffers from being single core. Scored a respectable 4604 on 3dmark06 not 05. I want to add sli and upgrade to new conroe stuff though.

Nice upgrade
Pros: Significant improvement over my A64 3000+. Drop in replacement. Keeps my aging system fresh for a while longer.
Cons: None at this price point.
Other Thoughts: I needed a drop in replacement 939 solution and this fit the bill nicely. While it's not dual core, it outperforms dual core solutions at this price point (The 3800+) in Oblivion. I noticed a significant improvement in performance moving from my old 3000+.

Great processor
Pros: Upgraded from a 3200 754 so this was a nice jump. Installation was a breeze, using this with an ASUS A8N-SLI board with no problems. Best bang for your buck. I saw the price of this go from xxx to xxx the the space of a week and a half. Glad I picked it up when it hit xxx Not really a con but more an observation.
Cons: Wish the 939 series was not being phased out. If so I hope the FX-60 drops to the same price as above.
Other Thoughts: I debated going with Conroe but I had already bought a MB and didn't feel like spending extra on another board, processor, and memory. I have an extra PC so dual core was not critical at this time.

fast, cheap
Pros: It's a cheap and fast mid-ranged processor... you won't be disappointed. With decent case cooling (3x 120mm fans at a constant 1600 RPM) and a 120mm BlueOrb Copper HSF, it idles at 33C-34C and will top out at about 50C when encoding.
Cons: It's Socket 939... which will be history in a year or two. You're not really going to be able to upgrade this thing three years down the line.
Other Thoughts: Fast enough you won't have a reason to OC.

Fast and Cool
Pros: Speedy and cheap. Cool (never more than 32C with stock cooling).
Cons: Well, the stock cooling works so well that I have an extra Zalman cooler going to waste in my parts bin (until the OC spirit seizes me)
Other Thoughts: Newegg is marvelous!
This was an upgrade from an Athlon 2000+, which was considerably slower and a LOT hotter--crazy hot (50-65C).

Pros: Nice noticeable jump from my 64 3200 outperforms dual core in most benchmarks
Cons: i dont care for the retail packaged fan, its still alittle ackward to instal but still better tan the old screwdriver method that had potential to damage mobo

Nice single core proc.
Pros: It just works! The stock cooling in my system keeps it running at ~ 31C and under load goes to ~ 38C. Compared to my previous XP 2800+, I'm very happy with it.
Cons: End of the line for S939 single core.
Other Thoughts: Have not attempted anything resembling an overclock. And will not until system has been used for awhile. This is a software development system, and no need to push it. I have tested it for gaming :), works great. Good Job AMD!

Excellent CPU
Pros: Purchased this CPU along with an ASUS A8N-VM CSM Socket 939 motherboard and X-QPACK case. Everything came on time as is always the case with newegg. Installed the CPU in my new ASUS A8N-VM CSM Socket 939 motherboard and it works great with the stock cooling fan. The only thing I did was to remove the thermal putty that comes with the cooling unit and apply some Arctic Silver in its place, which is standard practice for me. This CPU is great for the mid range user, runs idle at 33c, on avg work load 35c-36c, and on my heaviest load I’ve not been able to get it above 40c on the processor. The only games I’ve played on it so far are Age of Empires II & Starcraft brood war so I don’t know how it will hold up yet on any of the really intense games, but I suspect it will do just fine. I’ve found this to be an excellent processor for the money.
Cons: none so far
Other Thoughts: I’ve build hundreds of systems over the years and I love AMD CPU’s they run so much cooler than the Intel’s.

I notice a difference
Pros: Works without a single problem.
Cons: Umm... Its not free?

Pros: I upgraded from an A64 3200+, using New Egg for the first time. The processor is very fast and overclocks like a dream. I ordered it on a Sunday and got it Tuesday!!!! Wow. I will definetly buy from Newegg again.
Cons: Notta one yet. :)

Great
Pros: Installed very easy, Overclocked it to 2.7 and temperature is always around 39-40.
Cons: none.
Other Thoughts: although the heatsink and fan are great, you could still upgrade to a better one and have about 8 degrees lower temperature

Nice speed ,surprised
Pros: My dad bought the duo 2 e6300, I bought this cpu, after the builds were complete, the stock 64 4000+ was faster at xp boot up load times and loading apps, was also faster then the duo 2 e6300, I overclocked my 4000 to 234x12 @ 2.8ghz with temps in the 45c to 48c range and prime 95 stable, It was nice to see my AMD beat the duo 2 e6300 at 3dmark01 and loaded xp faster. I then OC my fathers e6300 I got it up to 2.3 but the temps were getting hotter then I liked 51c to 57c , after runing threw the paces both cpu were close to the same speed's but the 4000+ came out on top. My advice is if you still have a socket 939 go with this cpu get a good heat sink, some good fast ram, and OC it to 2.8ghz ,and you will have a faster machine then a intel e6300.
Cons: NONE

Fast
Pros: Noticeable improvement over my old Winchester core 3000 without having to spend much cash. It also runs a bit cooler.
Cons: Tough to say anything negative about this CPU - especially at this price!
Other Thoughts: IMO this one falls into the no-brainer category.:)

Decent Cpu, price drop makes it worth the price
Pros: 1 meg cache, easily can be overclocked with a good motherboard. If you are looking for stability while overclocking this cpu make sure you use a good board. I am currently running this cpu at 2.8 ghz and its perfectly stable. Also using zalman cooler to keep the temps down below 40C at full load.
Cons: It does run much hotter for some strange reason on the default vcore settings of I think 1.35 volts. My 3200+ OC'd running at 1.5 volts vcore ran much cooler. At any rate just make sure you run a good cpu cooler to keep this cool.
Other Thoughts: If you are updating your cpu from a 3200+ to this or any of the others in between you wont notice much of a difference in performance unless you overclock it. My 3200+ OC'd ran almost as fast as the 4000+ on stock settings. OC'd though this chip is decent and I am getting better performance out of it than my 3200 but only because of the OC. I am very happy with it.

Pros: It worked perfectly and installed easily. CPU power is no longer the bottleneck on my computer.
Cons: The heatsink was solid aluminum.. no copper. It only has one core, but the price reflects that.
Other Thoughts: Games do not yet benefit from multi-core systems.

Freecell can't get any faster
Pros: This is one sweet proc! I moved up from an 3200 to the 4000 and my freecell games just fly :P
Cons: With the 200 MHZ increase in clock speed I saw a idle temp increase of 3 deg C. No big whoop.
Other Thoughts: Some ppl overclock the proc. I underclock it (CBID) for most everyday use. Which cuts down on noise, heat and elect. But when it come to playing F.E.A.R...it's back up to full throttle!!

I like it
Pros: Good overclocker, Good gamer, Inexpensive
Cons: Wish I had it before the 3000+
Other Thoughts: I went ahead and bought this to upgrade from amd 64 +3000 winchester. I'm running 2.52 Ghz on the stock heatsink/fan. I'm not sure why you'd really need anything faster than this in a single core 939 pin proc.
I didn't see much improvement in online BF2 play (my reason for buying this). Most lag seems server or internet related for me. Singleplayer BF2 runs perfect 1024x768 with triple buffering and 6xAA.
All my singleplayer games run perfect now with no chop (Painkiller, Tron 2.0, Unreal2). Although I don't have the newest games other than BF2 running I would anticipate this system can run any current game very well. The best upgrades I've used for this system were: 1Gb ram to 2Gb, onboard audio to sound card, turn off CPU thermal throttling in bios (on by default), 9600xt to x800xt.

No words to describe
Pros: Very fast processor, can overclock it to reach speeds of the FX-52. First 64 bit processor and probably one of my best investments. AMD is and will always be the best, no matter what Intel puts out.
Cons: NONE!
Other Thoughts: For the price now it beats going to AM2 since you need DDR2 800 RAM to have an increase from the DDR400 RAM speeds.

quick!
Pros: Very, very fast. The games I have that were CPU-bound are no longer slow.
Now, of course, as I crank the settings they're GPU bound instead. You can't win.
Cons: None. great product. instructions are sufficient. I guess the little sticker that comes with it is ugly, if I need to have a con.. :-)
Other Thoughts: I'm quite impressed with this thing-- fast, stable, and not too terribly hot with the stock CPU heatskink/fan. Of course, it's sitting next to an AC vent in my house, but still. ;-)

Excellent!!!!!!!
Pros: Fast! Overclocks very well on stock HSF. It's cheap (price). It's very easy to install (if your not a clutz).
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I read reviews about the attaching mechanism being hard to attach to the Mobo. I have used 10-12 of the new AMD's with the new attaching system and have had no problems at all. In fact I think they are great I think the NOOBS upgrading their E-machines and HP's or Dell's are the problems. Also when they say they run hot I would bet they didn't get the HSF on properly. This is a very good processor and at an unbelieveable price. And also Newegg gets it to you fast.

Excellent single core proc
Pros: Works as advertised. Upgrading from a 3000+ Winchester core. Installed in a system used primarily for gaming. Perceptably better performance over previous proc. Runs around 46C under load. Considered going with a dual core proc but opted for 1meg cache single core in order to avoid compatability issues that some older games have with dual core. Am very satisfied with the performance and value of this purchase. Boxed proc with 3 year warranty. Of note, you must use the fan/heatsink that comes with unit to maintain warranty. Great time to get one of these as AMD has ceased production of 1meg cache single cores and significantly cut price (approximately 50%) in last month.
Cons: It is 939 socket format so I would not recommend for a new build. AM2 format would be best for upgrade potential. It is single core so will not perform as well as dual core in some applications.

New Core = ub3r
Pros: Fastest single core you can get, cheap compared to other 2.4 GHz, and the San Diego core OCs like a dream. 2.81 GHz on the first attempt, and I am not going to try to push it higher. A $xxx chip running at the speed of a $xxx one is fine with me.
Cons: Umm.....I cant have 2 of these running on my board, people are too stupid to admit AMD is better so they won't get it, people think the lower frequency compaired to Intel is a bad thing....other stuff like that
Other Thoughts: I got this in a deal I made with my parents to upgrade their computer. I gave them my old Athlon 4000, Clawhammer core, that I could only get up to 2.67 GHz, even with water cooling. Then they paid half of the price for this one. All I can say is wow, the differance is huge.

Excellent Value!
Pros: -Cool 'n Quiet driver automatically adjusts clock speed and voltage. -Excellent price/performance value.
Cons: -Too bad the price jumps with CPU choices above 2.4GHz. This will do :-)
Other Thoughts: -Upgraded from 1.8GHz Venice core. The added speed at this price is simply luxury especially since the previous CPU was purchased for $4 more last summer. :-)

fx's are way overrated
Pros: blazing fast at 2.4 ghz, don't see the need to over clock price is outrageously low less than a buck fourty!
Cons: none

Pros: Excellent Chip For $ OC's pretty good - this step atleast OC'd mine to 2.6GhZ with liquid cooling...I could've gone ALOT higher, yet I didn't want to put to much strain on this baby

Pros: Currently overclocked to 2.86GHZ, Sandra 2007 cpu test greater then FX-55 & FX-57. The temps 34c idle and 44 max temp using CPU Burn-in for 12hrs. Not bad for a $xxx chip.

newegg gets it right...again
Pros: Replaced Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego core due to great price on 4000+. Idle @ 33c ~ 35c. After playing Oblivion for an hour temp never got above 44c. Back to 35c right now. I haven't o/c the processor and am using the stock cooling. Smoother gameplay with new proc espcially daylight outdoor areas in Oblivion. If you don't need dual cores, you just can't beat this processor for performance or price.
Cons: Very satisfied. None.
Other Thoughts: Minor glitch when I ordered. The package didn't leave the warehouse as scheduled. Emailed newegg. Customer service responded within an hour or so. Package arrived on my doorstep two days later. I cannot see myself purchasing anywhere but from newegg. They are outstanding!

2.81 GHz on Stock air!
Pros: Awsome, didnt expect too much of an o/c with stock, but oced to 2.81 35C idle and 45C load 1.4v
Cons: None its AMD - except for the fact that the new Core 2 Duo's came out and totaly kill this thing performance wise....but this is still cheaper.
Other Thoughts: going to o/c to 3 GHz when I get some aftermarket cooling. Didnt really see much of a performance (FPS, windows, etc) difference from my old 3000+ (2.3 GHz) I really see it in multitasking..Was playing CSS while defraging and running Ad-aware at 40 FPS! Its worth the money and will last a while. This thing runs circles around the 3800 X2 (o/c to 2.81 that is) Oh and it IS a FX53 if you o/c to 2.6 ish because it has the same amount of transistors (105.5 million) look it up!

Pros: KACAE stepping! Pretty good overclocker. I am at 2809mhz at 1.42voltage and it is stable! Temps are 33^C idle and around 42^C full load using Evercool Silver Knight cooler.
Cons: You kidding!!!
Other Thoughts: Wish they have dropped in price sooner. Bought a 3800+ a month back for around the same price and was very reluctant to buy this one. Glad I did!!

Pros: this processor is just simply amazing. bf2, cs:s, F.E.A.R., and doom 3 all on the very highest settings without any lag spikes. well, that is partly because of my 7600gt ko in sli
Cons: a bit hot, so i had to switch over to a zalman fan and some arctic cooling thermal grease. so now the cpu temp droped 12º celcius!
Other Thoughts: a must buy right now. i saw the exact same cpu at bxxt bxy retailing for $xxx! newegg always have the best prices and the very best shipping

mabye a little on the warm side
Pros: Very very fast. proably about the best sinle core you can get, except fx-55
Cons: none really, stick heatsink rewuires undue force to install but i thik y mobo has something to do with that, the north bridge heatsink was in the way
Other Thoughts: when i booted into bios it read a temp of 62c that sounded kinda warm but the room temp is like 88f so ill se when it gets cooler in the room, but the load temp was ony like 65 not much differance. anywayz i only experienced one lockup when i played riddick without cranking up the cpu fan DOH.

Excellent Value
Pros: This processor is an outstanding value after the price drop. Compared to my old 3500 winnie this thing is an oc beast. Prime95 Stable at 2700 Mhz (12 x 225) with stock cooling. Load temp is 52C at this speed (1.425v). Very pleased with this purchase and newegg of course!
Cons: Yeah right...

WEIRD!
Pros: It's AMD! :D
Cons: Ran hotter NOT overclocked at 2.4ghz (38-42c idle, 46-49c gaming) than it did OVERCLOCKED to 2.64ghz (32-40c idle, 44-45c gaming). I also can't seem to get it to overclock past 10%, but that might be a motherboard issue.
Other Thoughts: Great processor, but I'm all ready thinking of upgrading.

hmmm nice...
Pros: nice, fast, 1mb L2 and 939 pin. well worth the money. i have it running 2.8ghz at 1.425v core on watercooling. my temps 78.2*F idel and 84.5*F under full load for an hr.
Cons: not a single one.
Other Thoughts: i play lots of games, bf2, doom3, oblivion, and many others. i had a 3200 64bit and thought it was fast till i got this. the 4000 rocks with its speed, 1mb L2 chache, and overclockability, and to top it off it runs cooler than my 3200 did.

"owned" is word of mouth
Pros: This proc is one of the last of a long line of cheap single cores from AMD that really holds its value. I got it over a year ago for about three fifty, now its one fifty and at that price its a steal. Runs all my games well and sense I don't multitask much it works great. Best bang for your buck.
Cons: besides the headache of pricing and future proofing not a thing.
Other Thoughts: 939 is getting phased out like the 754 was. If you don't burn dvd's while gaming, while listening to music and torrenting then this is the beast for you. At this price its a steal and mine overclocked to 2.7* with a zalman cooler so you can't go wrong with this one.

Nice upgrade
Pros: With the new ram I installed, I cut my evidence elimination fron 21 hours to 14. Mil spec is a long one but the only way to go.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I accomplished what I wanted w/o oc. My bios are locked and not ever having used any of the programs for changing bios, I just don't trust them.

AMD is the way to go
Pros: Its new low price! Can play the latest games and overclocks very well, 2.6GHs @ 32c and 1.4v
Cons: Dropped $xxx on me when I first grabbed it in february, and its just starting to reach its limit when it comes to gaming. I don't even know if it will have the power to run UT 2007? Also, single cores are being phased out by dual cores and their dropping prices. I give single cores about one - two more years to live.
Other Thoughts: I would shoot for an AMD X2 4600+ or X2 4800+, since they are so cheap right now. Doing so will future proof your computer; not having to upgrade your computer for about one and a half years. Do this and you will save yourself a couple hundred dollars and one major headache.

price drop
Pros: Good CPU
Cons: price dropped two hundred smackers over the course of five months.
Other Thoughts: I hate the way PC equipment de-values so quickly. This CPU was three hundred thirty four bucks when I bought it & now it's a hundred thirty nine. It makes me feel stupid, but what the heck, it's a good CPU.

Pros: Great processor. All I do is game and surf the net so dual core not needed. Very pleased with product.
Cons: Dropped $156.00 in since I bought it just over a month ago :-( Wish I'd waited a month.
Other Thoughts: Runs all games smooth as silk. Oblivion, Quake 4, NFS, etc. No problem.

Amazing Processor
Pros: Fast, doesnt run as hot as some people say, it AMD so its not gonna have issues like Intel processors
Cons: None yet, only thing that might be a con is when i built my machine I had to remove it and re-seat it once, but that could of been user error.
Other Thoughts: Id buy it again (In fact my next machine Im building now has another one of these in it)

Great. The price DROPPED!
Pros: Works very fast. Major speed difference between my old and new. Great for Hard-Core Number Crunching.
Cons: The price used to be 336! It dropped on me! Oh well. Not too much of a difference. I still love it!

What a difference!
Pros: Went from a XP2400+ to this... and all i can say is i wish i didn't wait this long! Games fly with this and my XFX7950 on this strictly gaming machine. Runs 25c at idle on water and 35c full load. I got it running at 3105 MHz 11.5 X 270 on AN8-SLI with no problems.
Cons: None

Pretty awesome
Pros: My computer is blazingly fast. It takes just a few seconds to get into Windows. Games such as Oblivion work great too. Also, it comes with thermal compound pre-applied, so you don't have to worry about it at all.
Cons: None that I could tell.
Other Thoughts: When I first installed it, I thought it was broken (due to some failed processor diagnostics), but it turned out that the RAM was broken, so be careful not to jump to conclusions.

uh-mazing
Pros: The fastest processor that I have ever used in my whole entire life! It is way better than its Intel equivalent. This is the best single-core processor that you can get. Nothing out there beats it. Temperatures are very cool, mines 35c idle and 48c full load and that's with the stock cooler! No need to overclock cuz it handles everything i throw at it at max settings and resolution. I click, and its there.
Cons: NONE...
Other Thoughts: By the way, FPS in Half-life, Counterstrike, and any versions of that game doesnt have much to do with the CPU at all. Im using this processor and i get 101fps in Half-life/Counterstrike, and i get 200fps in Half-life 2. Turn off your v-sync under your video card options, and then go to developer console. Type in fps_max 101 for half-life and cs. Type fps_max 200 for Half-Life 2 and css. If you still dont get 100 or 200fps, then type developer 1 in the console. That will boost ur fps up to the max.
