amd perfection
Pros: great value, great price vs. performance
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: why mess with intel??? if intel wins and amd goes out of business, you can expect intel cpus to go up in price about 100%, dont believe me?? do you want to risk the chance that i may be right?

Fast and cool
Pros: I've bought a few of these, paired up with a MSI MBOX K9VGM-V and other barebones. The performance is excellent.
Cons: None.

Unbelievable
Pros: Unbelievable, I have never had a CPU that was so durable. I managed to pull this bad boy out with the Heat sink, as I am sure all of you have done at least once. My little bro knocked the heat sink (CPU still attached) off the table right on the CPU. Bent about 30-40 pins.... sad face... I bent the pins back and reinstalled, with a new heat sink. Runs just as good as ever, didnt loose any speed. LOVE THIS PROCESSOR
Cons: none at all... well it used to run a little hot (before the new heat sink), but what AMD doesnt....
Other Thoughts: In a gaming comp with 4 Gb ram, 512 graphics, all the fun stuff. Runs everything, love this little processor. I have built around 10 comps all running AMD, never had one fail!

Speedy Proc
Pros: I can say this processor is quick espically coming from a 2800+ Barton core. From the time I press my power button my desktop loads under 15 seconds. It runs games smoothly as well. I can run Oblivion maxed out @ 1440X900 and it runs without a hitch. I plan to overclock it after I let it burn in. What I'm the most happy with is how cool it runs. @ idle 25C under load I have seen it no higher than 32C Most of the time it stays @ 30C. My case also has good air flow it runs 25C to 30C. This proc is a great buy.
Cons: none solid product from AMD
Other Thoughts: My system Abit AX78 4600+ X2 7600GT 1GB of Crucial 667 MHZ Ram. 160GB Seagate SATA II Newegg is the only place to by parts. No other supplier compairs.

pretty fast
Pros: Low on funds so I went for the price point, running an ECS A770M-A mobo and these two low cost items run great!
Cons: Not the fastest processor but still pretty fast for the $$$$.

Fast & Cool Running
Pros: Retail package works great. Using with MSI mobo and this chip is typical AMD...heat sink / fan mounts very easy. I've set up the "cool & quiet" feature and this CPU runs very cool (~39 deg. C) while running multiple graphic programs. Also very quiet.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I've purchased approx. 20 AMD Retail Box CPU's in the past 12 months and have not had one failure, or bad performer.

AMD 4600+
Pros: Great processor - fast and inexpensive. I've used to build systems with Intel because I heard AMD CPU's had a heat problem. Not any more. AMD is typically less expensive and faster and in the 6 machines I've build in the last few months they all outperform their equivalent Intel CPU's. Have yet to see a heat problem. And as usual Newegg is the best!! I only get my parts from them, don't waste your time with any other supplier.
Cons: None that I can find!

Nice..Responsive
Pros: Great response times. Benchmarks are beautiful, even at stock numbers for this low of a clock speed. Definitely a noticeable difference from the Brisbane, but at a slight temp disadvantage. Great bargain gaming CPU
Cons: Only one I'd say is get the box for the warranty and chuck the heatsink into the box. Get something COPPER. Idles at around 37-39, which is great, but when I start putting it under heavy load (video encoding, especially), I've seen spikes of 50+ to even 60.
Other Thoughts: notta

Great performance at a low price
Pros: First time I've used a AMD processor in a system. It seems to work really well, no issues at all. Checking out Tom's Hardware this processor gives good bang for the buck.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Put this in a new system with a Biostar MoBo running Vista 64 bit. Processor is great, Vista 64 bit isn't so great.

yay improved rating
Pros: First I want to comment on the unsung hero: the heatsink. I have one case fan and one aftermarket fan, and this heatsink took the lead to get my cpu temp down to 21 degrees at the first boot up. After half a day it's still below 25 degrees. After overclocking to a little over 2.6ghz, it's at 27. Couldn't be happier about that. The chip slid easily into place on my mobo. It can be easily overclocked to specs higher than what I'd be comfortable with. Mine's sitting pretty at 217 fbs for a total of a little over 2.6ghz.
Cons: to physically apply the heatsink it takes some solid faith that the securing lever is not going to break with as much force as is necessary to lock it down. But mine didn't.
Other Thoughts: Installation was a cinch and it doesn't take a lot of extra voltage to overlock. hooray.

Good price/performance rating
Pros: Low price. Dual Core. Low operating temperature. Very easy to install.
Cons: Honestly, none that I can think of.
Other Thoughts: I would recommend this CPU to anybody. It is plently powerful enough for gaming... yet cheap enough for use in basic, everyday computing.

AMD 4600
Pros: Works fantastic. Nice upgrade from my previous one. I can have itunes, internet browser, aim, and multiple other programs running at the same time without anything slowing down. Price is also another plus!
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: Good bargain. Would buy again.

Does So Much Without a Sweat
Pros: Takes care of everything without any problems. Gaming, editing, transcoding, deep virus-scanning, crime-fighting. You know, everything you need. Stays really cool too.
Cons: 4600 Just doesn't seem like a macho number...but that's just me.
Other Thoughts: Buying it would be a good idea, if you don't feel like going a little further to get a 5200 or higher.

Another AMD
Pros: This is my first duo core CPU, I love it!!! Applications open up quickly. Working with Excel and listening to music, then browse the web all without any lag. Good performance for the price.
Cons: none so far.
Other Thoughts: MSI NEO AMD MB; AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+; 8600GT card; 250 GB SATA 3.0; 2gb Adata DDR2 PC6400; 500 Coolmaster PSU; 20" Widescreen ACER LCD monitor.

Can't beat this deal
Pros: Breeze to install. Slides right into the socket. The included heat sync is actually not bad. Runs much cooler than my previous setup.
Cons: It's AMD, of course there's none.

Update on Stability
Pros: Highly overclockable for an AMD proc. Insanely cheap for the performance. Arrived quick.
Cons: Nada!
Other Thoughts: Had this chip for almost 10 months now and finally decide to push it a little further than 2.6GHz. It's now running COMPLETELY stable at 2.7GHz! Also at FULL LOAD with my arctic silver 5 thermal compound and my thermal VENUS 12 80mm ball copper heatsink/fan combo, which i purchased almost 2 years ago in August 06, my CPU doesn't go past 22C even when under full load. This is a great CPU for performance especially if you wanna spend the money on phat vid card. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CPU especially if you were going to get it from Newegg. Now to move on to 2.8GHz rofl i'll let you all know how that goes with my next update on this CPU.

Pros: Reasonably good instruction set. easy install other than the heatsink/fan installation, which made me feel like I was going puncture the dang proc. with all the force I had to use. But nothing broke, so it's all good. 64-bit is a plus, I guess... But since 64-bit OS's are so darn buggy that no one uses them, I'm not sure it's really that big a deal.
Cons: Gets owned by Intel's (pricier) parts... Allegedly isn't the best OC'er out there, but it seems to get a reasonable boost on just air for me. Guess it's heavily dependent on the chip revision in this case.
Other Thoughts: Even though AMD's parts aren't performing as well as Intel's right now, I would still say it's all in the same price/performance curve. So if the price is right for you, the performance won't be lacking. Also, if you can help it, try to go with an AM2+ board. They're backwards compatible, and that'll leave you room for upgrade if you decide to splurge later on the Phenom parts (which are also pretty good procs for the price).

Great little budget machine...
Pros: Great processor, speedy even the web loads pages faster than with my old 2500 barton 462. It is quick and easy to install and assembly of heatsink and stock fan was a breeze compared to the old 462 fastening system...
Cons: Those pins are way more close to the edge of the chip than one would think. Back in the day of 462 I got spoiled to the extra room and would butter my CPU with artic silver strait onto the Chip while holding the chip in my hand. I wouldn't dare do that with this chip, just put it in the motherboard and slap some silver on from there...
Other Thoughts: Paired this chip up with a GIGABYTE GA-MA69G-S3H, Winamp 2x1gig 6400ram and the basics along with xp home. The motherboard has onboard graphics and sound that really rock. I would say for quality vs. price, I really broke neweggs bank on this build... I spunt $250, case, motherboard, CPU, memory. I already had Hard drive, DVD ROM and XP Home. My onboard graphics are as good as any 128 bit VGA card I ever had. No hardcore gaming I am sure...

Pros: Replaced an AMD 2600XP in a system upgrade for my granddaughter. Good enough to handle SIMS & other light gaming that she does.
Cons: none

very nice
Pros: cheap, quick.huge performance leap over my last cpu.the heatsink and fan works great and its virtualy silent.
Cons: absolutly none
Other Thoughts: my first build in many years.so im very far behind on everything.my last rig that i built had a duron 1300 cpu and half a gig of 133 ram.so needles to say going from that to this along with 2 gigs of 800mhz ram was a huge difference.im very impressed with this cpu.

Nice CPU
Pros: This is the first Dual-Core chip that I have ever used in a build. I was very pleased with the multi-tasking ability this little chip offered over a single core. I got a heck of a lot of processor for not a lot of dough.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: Five more bucks gets you a 4800+ with an extra .1GHz and a 65W chip. If you have more money, by all means spend it. If you are on as tight of a budget as I was and want/need to stay on the lower end of the $75-100 mark then this chip is for you. Of course my hat is off to Newegg and their speedy delivery.

Cons: it wont let the dog out

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ Review
Pros: This processor installed very easy. Worked right from the start not DOA. Makes Windows Vista 32 bit run fast as heck. I would recommend this to everyone looking for a new processor. AMD truly has the best processors.

Nice.
Pros: Very nice. You can't go wrong with AMD. Also, dual core is always good. CPU has great power-for-dollar ratio, so it is a great buy.
Cons: Only 512 KB caches, but it doesn't really affect speeds much.
Other Thoughts: If you are looking for pure power, get a quad core Phenom, otherwise this is a great budget-power compromise!

Unbelievable!
Pros: It is fast before o/c'ing and even faster after. Nice performance and idles at about 32 C. For the performance, you can't beat the price (about 80 bucks at time of review).
Cons: None yet. Works great.
Other Thoughts: My motherboard is currently controlling the cpu speed but I did overclock it just to test. I went up to 2.8 GHZ with no issues. Max temp I have seen this go to with stock fan is 51 C...will probably invest in better cooling unit before o/c'ing any further. Benchmarks from what I have read make this out to be a cpu of choice and so far I agree. Formerly a P4 HT user. If AMD keeps it up, Intel is in trouble:)

Great Chip
Pros: Its a great stable chip! I overclocked the CPU to 2.79 ghz with no issues. This was my first purchase with newegg and I plan on continuing business with them. Great product, fast delivery. 5 STARS
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: This would be a great chip for the budget gamer. Easily overclocked and stable, it runs really fast. and for about half of the price of other decent CPU's out there.

Power to the masses!!!
Pros: not a pro, so don't know about overclocking, regardless this baby is freakin sweat. 1st time AMD buyer and instantaneously forgot about Intel world...this is a paradise.
Cons: L2 cache, but for someone like me that's just jibberish talk, if your not pleased with this cpu your a techno freak that needs the latest stuff around, for an average user...any AMD cpu will be better than its intel counter-part for a general consumer
Other Thoughts: 1st time buyer from AMD and let me say "intel sucks and anything related to intel is just simply overpriced" This thing was a snap to setup, I couldn't be happier...Newegg is the best once again

Great Processor
Pros: It's fast, dual core, and is inexpensive. As usual, AMD offers a great price\performance solution with this product. Very noticeable improvement in overall Windows XP performance over AMD 3200+ Venice. Fast enough for me that I don't need to think about overclocking.
Cons: 89W thermal power versus 65W of the newer AMD model.
Other Thoughts: Paired with a PCChips A33G SiS 761GX motherboard and 2 GB A-Data DDR2 800 RAM. I haven't bought an Intel processor since 1998, and with AMD continuing to release products as good as this one, I probably won't for another ten years!

Best bang for the money
Pros: Great out of the box.. but wanted to OC a little bit to get some better performance. Running stable at 2.646 without changing voltage.. and under heavy load runs 40o with stock heatsink and fan.
Cons: The L2 cache.. but hasn't been much of a problem yet.
Other Thoughts: The Windsor is much faster than the Brisbane... so unless you really need lower power consumption... this is the one to get.

In response to my last review.
Pros: Very Fast, Cool, and inexpensive.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: In my last response, I hit 100C, but I realized that is because I put the heatsink on wrong. I apologize, and now that I have fixed the blunder it is staying around 28-30C.

Okay.
Pros: Very Fast. Good Price. Dual Core.
Cons: Stock Fan and Heatsink. Okay, this is weird. I had the stock fan and heatsink installed properly, and both were working fine. I was bored, so I went to BIOS to look at fan speeds and stuff, when I looked at the temp, and it said "100C."
Other Thoughts: Do NOT use the stock fan and heatsink, unless you want to kill some processor.

So far so good
Pros: Recognized immediately with my setup. It is fast and so far has been reliable. I have not tried overclocking it yet, but from other reviews, it is capable.
Cons: Not a quad core, but I couldn't afford it if it was/
Other Thoughts: Newegg is by far the best. I ordered it right around Thanksgiving time, and expected shipping to be delayed, but it was here in 2 days.

Happy Customer
Pros: I did a build for a customer, they are very satisfied with this product. No complaints. It blows their old system outta the water.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: With the right hardware this can be a decently fast budget system.

Great for the price!
Pros: Really fast for what you pay. Can play games usually without any skip(except you crysis). alot cheaper solution than the intel version. Overall runs pretty cool and quiet like the AMD feature says it should.
Cons: Although, its a great product. Its considered mid-range and it is falling fast. Can multitask, but not as well as i want it to. cant overclock very well at all either.
Other Thoughts: You know, for $80, it was a great buy. I might upgrade in a year or so, but as of right now processors are much farther than what games need right now. For instance, even though crysis is the most advanced game out right now, min. requirements are 2.8Ghz processot. Recommended? any dual core processor.

Pros: Extremely fast.
Cons: none yet
Other Thoughts: I haven't really tested it to its limits, but it has handled basic stuff well. Worked perfectly from the start. Runs at 22 deg C

AMD Rock's !!!
Pros: - Low Price - High Throughput - High Speed - High Stability - Error Free - Low Voltage - Low Temps - Easily the most bang for the buck.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Matched this CPU up with an Abit AN9 32X Fatality MB, 2GB of DDR2 XMS Corsair Ram & one Nvidia PCI-E Video Card. Using the stock cooler & stock settings, cpu's run @ 94-Degrees F idle and 110-Degrees F loaded. CPU over- clocks easily but no real need to because it already runs at warp speed stock. Way to go AMD!!! AMD & Newegg = Winning Combo!

Pretty Good!
Pros: Cheap Price, Dual Core, AMD need I say more.
Cons: It's only 2.4Ghz but then again that's not really a con; especially considering the Price.
Other Thoughts: I got it when it was about $30 more but it's still well worth it. In addition, this CPU is a nice overclocker. I have it at 2.7 Ghz on the stock HS+F so far, it's been very stable, also I have yet to see the temps go beyond 29C and that's just on air w/o arctic silver! When summer comes again I'll probably underclock it to 2.6 just to be safe. You can't go wrong with this CPU and AMD

Pros: Much faster than my old single core processor, there is a noticeable difference - and at the price there is little excuse not to upgrade
Cons: None

Nice
Pros: Fast and efficient.
Cons: Had one little hiccup last night when I was watching a movie and trying to install a game at the same time. Whole system locked up. Not sure if it was the processor or the hard drive at fault. Not much else to complain about.

Bang for your buck
Pros: Fast Fast Fast!! This cpu's loading time on my games ( i.e crysis/CoD4 ) are absolutely amazing for its price. $80 dollars? thats how much my case cost. I can literally alt tab out of CS 1.6 instantly without even a bit of hesitation
Cons: You can't exactly be picky on this cpu when its only $80 bucks yet runs faster then intels core 2 duo e6300 that cost $100 more.
Other Thoughts: I bought this as a combo deal with 2 gbs of ram from mushkin for about $130. Rig its on Gigabyte AM2 mobo S-Series, MSI 8600gt OC edition, 2gbs ram Mushkin DDR2, Maxtor 160gb HD, SMILODON case.

Good old AMD
Pros: Put this in with the stock fan, and am very happy. Much snappier than my old athlon.
Cons: None. Very pleased. I'll probably wait till the Phenoms of significant speed are dirt cheap before bothering to upgrade.
Other Thoughts: Not many applications make use of dual cores yet, so a single process will still run at a pretty normal speed. What dual cores buy you is the ability to run a couple of things at this rate at once. This is until some games/apps really decide to make use of multi-core architectures.

Excellent Processor
Pros: This is a very quick and reliable dual-core processor. It handles World of Warcraft, Half-life 2, and Oblivion superbly. Before I built my current system, I had a single-core Intel at 3.2Ghz and it served me very well, but this is like having two of those. Multi-tasking works wonderfully. I am very pleased.
Cons: It does tend to run a little on the warm side, but that's mostly likely because I am still using the stock fan (which does the job for now). If you want to over-clock this thing, I suggest investing in a good fan and heat sink to bring down the heat (it's not wise to buy a cheap fan and heat sink, so spend a little extra and get a good one.)
Other Thoughts: Sadly, I bought it when it was still xxx

Pros: Just built a computer about 7 months ago. Using this processor with a GIGABYTE GA-M59SLI-S5 AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard and was able to OC the cpu to 2.7 ghz. So far running stable without any issues. If you also got the same mobo do the OC in the BIOS - Ntune and the software for the mobo are horrible to OC with.
Cons: Some reason the CPU was only running as 2.2 ghz....
Other Thoughts: Wish I would have payed the $87.50 rather then $119 last march.

performance price ratio
Pros: smokes my Pentium D 915 2.8 2.4 over 2.8 wow, intel @ 120 vs amd's 85's-95's? runs fast and cool, not oc'd i like to keep my pc's for awhile, but some say they get some great clocks out of em.
Cons: Not faster for the same price
Other Thoughts: AC MX-2 Thermal Compound 31c @ idle never above 51c @ 100% load on both cores after 4 hrs with a house temp @ 75. compound hasnt had enough time to fully cure. prolly will drop a 2 degrees more i hope.

works like a 3.0 x2
Pros: this CPU rocks i have had it 6 mo now and no trouble u was a big Intel fan now i go A.M.A any time. C.S source max and i have no trouble B.F 2142 Every thing is fast windows is good stil Win tho and i can burn a D.V.D in 45 min.
Cons: its a power Hoog YOU must get a 600 W or 650 w P.C.U if u get this C.P.U as well the only time it will lock up is if u use Linux not 2 much tho.
Other Thoughts: Never with this C.P.U use the stock fan spend 15 bilz min and get a good fan oki also i f u want a good bord 2 use mine is Asuse m2n32-sli deluxe so have fun.

nice
Pros: Fast, runs cool at stock speed.Cheap got the speed at 2572mhz on stock volts 100% stable! Can play most games with it at stock speeds.Runs Vista.Cheap dual core.
Cons: Loves the voltage if you are overclocking. runs hot when you start pushing it. other than that it is a great CPU.
Other Thoughts: It has been a great CPU.It has takes everything i have thrown at it even overclocking and high volts. If you aren't going to overclock than go for it. I have bought this CPU less than a year ago and it hasn't let me down.

Update from Kidmystic
Pros: Pretty ez to OC. Cheaper than dirt now. Seems to be good on energy consumption and temperatures.
Cons: Only a 512KB L2 cache
Other Thoughts: I bought this CPU over 7 months ago and started overclocking it. I topped out at 2.6GHz on air cooling with little trouble and stopped there. Recently i started out overclocking it again and have hit 2.7GHz on air cooling alone! Idle temps in the range of 17-20C and load temps touching 30-32C. This proc is AWESOME, and a must buy for any budget pc.

Simply Amazing!
Pros: Solid processor, ready to go ahead and upgrade to the 6000+. Assist the rest of my hardware very well playing F.E.A.R. and COD4. Probably going to take my chances with Crysis before long. Hoping my eVGA 7950GT holds up. AMD & Newegg ROCKIN' AGAIN!! THANKS!!!
Cons: Price dropped out of the sky a few weeks after I bought it!! But I guess thats the way it goes. Can't blame Newegg for keeping the deals fresh!

Nice for the price
Pros: Using stock heatsink, no heat problem (not OCed). Fastest per dollar when I bought it.
Cons: Price point to processing power has slid upward to newer processors since I bought it? (But isn't that always the case?)
Other Thoughts: Bought this for a midlevel gaming machine I built my sister. It's a good solid processor. The system's been very stable, and using the stock heatsink/fan and no overclocking, there've been no heat problems. It was a good deal then and it's a better deal now.

Can't beat the price!
Pros: First AMD build. Easy install. Runs cool, and quiet, with stock heatsink/fan. Stepped up from a Pentium 4 3.0, performance is like night and day.
Cons: None at this price.
Other Thoughts: Using this chip, 2GB corsair xms2, evga 8800GT, biostar nf520-a2. Half-Life 2, Gears of War, Timeshift, F.E.A.R., UT 3 Demo all perfect maxed settings! Crysis Demo, on high settings at 1600x1200, runs between 30 and 45 fps.

Excellent!
Pros: Excellent chip the only reason I gave it a 4 rating is beacuse you can get the 4800 X2 chip for a 1.00 More, but this is a good deal when they include it with MB, chip combo deals!
Cons: Heatsink, Sucks buts seems to work.
Other Thoughts: If this is not ofered with a combo deal, spend the extra Buck and get the 4800 ;-)

Exceptional Piece of Hardware
Pros: Having been using an Athlon 64 3000+ for a year and a half to render video into DVDs I've found it takes me usually two to four hours, and no other programs are available for me to use during the process as the system runs slowly. Installing this new chip into a new build on an ASUS mb yesterday gave me one surprise when I rendered a couple of movies that would normally have taken almost 3 hours in the old system in less than an hour. I was floored at the chip's speed.
Cons: It doesn't wash dishes.
Other Thoughts: One could wait for the next greatest invention before investing, but then you'd be missing out on what's already in front of you.

Why aren't you buying this?
Pros: Quiet, not as energy efficient as I would like, but worlds above what you can get elsewhere for the money. Benchmarks amazingly well, multi-tasks, and for the price, no contest. Perfect for budget builders / gamers.
Cons: It's still a 2.4GHz. Not real marks against it, but you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Great inexpensive dual core CPU
Pros: Fast inexpensive processor. This replaced a KT600 board and Athlon XP 2400+. The performace gain is incredible. Installed in a DFI Infinity 570 board with no issues, great combination.
Cons: The stock heatsink/fan. Stock the chip idled at 44°c, under load 55°c which coincidently happens to be the low end of AMD's published maximum temperature for the chip. I replaced the HSF with a Freezer 64, now idles at 38°c with a max under load at 46°.
Other Thoughts: This is just an amazing processor at the current price. Probably the best bang for the buck of anything out there right now.

Works Fast Stays Cool
Pros: Fast and with a great price. You can over clock but it works good with out doing so. My son uses the AMD 2.1 x2 and said he plays all the games no problem.
Cons: None works perfect. Can run scan and go on with what ever Im doing it's really worth it. I can play music and surf at the same time I love this thing its fast. Blows away my old pentium d. 3.0
Other Thoughts: My Scythe Infinity keeps it running cool, it is always around 28 degress Celcius. Never gets hot. Great deal you wont be sorry. So what are you waiting for get one. I kinda would like to buy the 2.6 for kicks it's so afordable. Waiting for it to drop in price some more though.

Good processor, but it's noisy...
Pros: Very fast dual-core... makes for extremely fast performance for basic installation and computing tasks. Able to restart a Windows XP or Vista installation in under 1 minute...
Cons: Heatsink was hard to install, ended up slicing my thumb open (maybe from stupidity?), but the fan is also noisy, and it keeps me up at night!
Other Thoughts: 2.4GHz dual-core technology is something new I am beginning to use, and it's very well-built. I think AMD should ship fans that don't produce so much noise output... I can hear it from just about anywhere in my house.

GOT AMD???
Pros: Fast, multitask like crazy, keeps cool (under 45 degrees C).
Cons: Well... the stock heatsink and fan were really a pain to install.
Other Thoughts: Well lets start off by saying before i upgraded i had a Intel P4 NotthWood 2.5 Ghz processor, now i have a AMD Athon 64 x2 4600+, 2 gigs of g skill on a BIOSTAR TForce board.

Good while it lasted...
Pros: I had this CPU in a home-built PC for just over a year, using the in-box heatsink/fan combo to keep the warranty. As far as I can tell it wasn't a heat issue as I never noticed high temps when I was monitoring it... but see Cons for more.
Cons: It died after a year, with no OCing and no real reason to have died. Time went on, and gradually it just faded to the point where my PC no longer POSTs (and yes, I tested every other hardware component).
Other Thoughts: Still a good processor, and at this point quite a cheap solution. I'm guessing mine was a fluke as I've not seen overly many problems with this processor when used as intended. Am waiting on RMA from AMD... they were quick to approve it, now I just wait for the result.

Cons: None delivered as expected
Other Thoughts: This is a very good processor for a budget machine.

Great Processor for the money
Pros: It runs Bioshock well, Team Fortress 2 well, and Medal of Honor: Airborne well. Good Cost.
Cons: I would think for a few extra 10's of dollars you could get better performance. But, if you needed, this card would perform well.
Other Thoughts: I recommend it for a budget build.

Excellent
Pros: I found this product amazing. For the price this was great for me and what I use it for. I was considering getting an Intel, but something similar to this was about $200 more, we didn't have the money for that!
Cons: I had some difficulty getting the heat sink to clip in, but that was minor compared to the end results.
Other Thoughts: I wish I had seen the 3GHz one, it wasn't that much more money.

Pros: It's not the fastest out there, but it's great none the less, I have no problem with slow speeds at all.
Cons: None I've noticed

Pros: Works great for me in a Biostar t7025 motherboard with 2 Megs of G Skill DDR2 6400 memory.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I always use AMD processors because I remember the days when Intel was the only game in town and they abused everybody with their prices.

Advantage questionable
Pros: Dual core.
Cons: I purchased this processor to replace my amd athlon 64 3000, windows XP machine. To date, I have not seen a return or upside. This processor anchors an msi k9agm mb, wd 500gb 7200 hd, evga GeForce 7600GS 256mb 128-bit gddr2 pcix16 video card, Patriot 2gb ddr2 667 pc2 5300 dual channel memory and windows vista. This machine is far too slow for the investment. The windows xp machine is 3 times faster.

Pros: Great deal on this processor. Great bang for the buck. This CPU runs at 86*F idle and hasnt exceeded 117*F under full sustained load. Those numbers are with the stock AMD supplied fan and Q-Fan enabled, which means the fan runs at only 1200rpm.
As usual very impressed with the AMD chip over the intel competition. I deal with intel chips A LOT at work and for my new personal machine AMD was my first choice.
Cons: None

Fast.
Pros: I have had it running all day and love this thing. I dont know about some poeple saying this thing idles around 36 degrees Celcius but mine with the stock cooler runs at just 30 degrees celcius... Warmest it has gotten is 42C.
Cons: Not any...well other than it could be cheaper?
Other Thoughts: Not overclocked yet, Voltage stays constant at 1.33v..... my system... MB-MSI K9N6PGM-F RAM-A-DATA 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) HDD-Diamond 250gb

Great processor
Pros: Amazingly fast, it runs cool ( 36 c idle 50 c full load)
has hyper transport cool N quiet
Cons: NONE !!!!
Other Thoughts: for the price you are gettign a deal far better than a core 2 duo , sure they are faster but the cost a whole lot more than the x2
* same performance as the E6400 and yet it costs $60 less!

Fast
Pros: Dual core,Price, fast and undervolts vary well ,runs cool at stock speed Does good on all the games i play. I can have many things running at the same time.
Cons: Doesn't overclock vary well i only got 2811mhz (2.8ghz) with the v-core at 1.55v.Stock HSF doesn't do vary good replaced a few weeks later.Runs hot when you start overclocking
Other Thoughts: If you don't want to be doing alot of overclocking and some gaming.I can be gaming and have it doing what ever else i want.Mine runs stable at 1.22v.The stock HSF is good if you aren't going to overclock. Were the price is why not buy?
