Incredible processor
Pros: Fast. Scratch that, incredibly fast. Doesn't bottleneck in my XPS 1210, runs everything I throw at it and then some, and in order to get the heat up in the laptop I have to run two games while surfing about 6 - 9 websites at the same time.
Cons: I have thrown everything I possibly could at it, and it just won't max out! Therefore, I can't think of any factual cons that I have noticed.
Other Thoughts: I have ran the same game twice at the same time, while surfing the web as well. With my old Pentium 4 3.8 Ghz HT processor, I would have hit 100% usage with just the game, but with running all those programs that I do now, the processor only hits 60-80% usage. I have only seen the processor max out at 100% three times, and all three times is due to Vista bugging out on me and causing the processor to max out while trying to open a program. The idle usage is very low, the old P4 chip I mentioned would idle at about 30% usage, with this processor I am averaging 2% usage at idle, dipping as low as 0% every several seconds!

CPU upgrade
Pros: It was an easy replacement for a Core duo in my dell laptop.
Cons: the price vs improvements. It does run a little hotter than the Core Duo- approx 6 degrees C. hotter.
Other Thoughts: Even though the cost per improvement was high it seemed to stop a lot of the bottlenecks I was receiving with the Core Duo. I believe it is a worthwhile investment!

Fast!
Pros: Installed this processor on my Acer 9410z. It booted without a single problem. It replaced the T2060 that the laptop came with. Great upgrade. Recommend it to anyone.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Core 2 duo for the win!

Nice improvement
Pros: Seems to make the system a lot more responsive when running multiple tasks simultaneously.
Cons: At tree hundred, it's not a cheap upgrade - considering you can get an entire laptop in a box for not much more.
Other Thoughts: There were some comments about the fan running alot or higher heat. When I installed mine, I didn't have any extra thermal paste, and relied on what was still on the heat sink. The fan never came out of hyperdrive, and the PC was a slug. I ordered some good paste, and once applied, the fan hardly goes beyond idle - and the speed is considerably faster than before the upgrade.

Pros: Average max temp = 52c, idle temp = 46c. Installation in Mac Mini was not difficult.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Use a good thermal grease like Arctic Silver 5,

Awesome
Pros: I bought this CPU to replace my 1.6 Ghz Celeron M. I chose this CPU because I do some software development, and prefer to do my testing in virtual machines to avoid making any changes to my own laptop. With 1.5 GB of RAM and this processor, I can run a virtual machine at amazing speeds without any noticeable degradation to my core system.
Cons: Runs a bit warmer than my Celeron M, but not enough to be concerned about.

Pricy little dude. But fast!
Pros: I like Intel. Intel is good.
Cons: Expensive. It does not come with a heatsink and fan.
Other Thoughts: Easy to install.

No problems
Pros: So far I haven't noticed any issues with this cpu in my Inspiron E1505, it has performed quite well. On multiple occasions I have been running virus scans/system checks, the like...while playing games like halo or surfing the web and it has never slowed down. Really handles multi-tasking well.
Cons: Like some other people said, the heat is a small factor, although, as long as you aren't stupid enough to cover the air vents this shouldn't be a problem.
Other Thoughts: When I play games such as Medieval II Total War, and I have a ton of units running around and lots of trees on the field, sometimes things can get just a little jumpy. I doubt that this has to do with the processor though, or even my graphics card, most likely a RAM issue.

E1705 Upgrade
Pros: Faster than the T1300 (single-core 1.66 GHz) chip that came with the Dell laptop. Works great with multi-media apps, and boots up quite a bit faster than the old chip. Gaming is improved (WOW, FEAR, Splinter cell, etc.) The slow single-core was the limiting factor in my laptop as it had a pretty decent graphics card (7800GS).
Cons: Chip runs much hotter than the single core it replaced. Not an issue (I hope) as no problems have popped up. But you can definitely tell the difference as the fans come on more frequently and the palm rest feels hotter. Replacing the chip on an E1705 is not for the faint of heart.
Other Thoughts: Now there’s no impact on performance when a virus update or system check is going on. Multi-media performance has improved, too. Heat is a bit of a concern, but so far not a problem. This ought to keep the machine from becoming obsolete for a while longer. Price is a bit high IMHO. If I’d had anything but the slowest single core chip made or a laptop with a marginal video card, I’d probably not have done the upgrade.

Decent CPU
Pros: Fast, Conroe core, lowest model with 4mb cache, came in my Dell E1705 (9400)
Cons: Could be a little faster, if it was clocked at like 2.2 I believe it would be a good amount better. If you're going to be putting this in a desktop and overclocking it, its a great chip
Other Thoughts: Great for laptop's, E6300's are cheaper for desktops

Great processor
Pros: With 4mb of L2 cache, you simply cant go wrong. I have yet to find something that this processor cant handle.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: For those looking to upgrade, I would highly suggest you know what your doing before you go poking around with a laptop such as mine ($2200+ as of 4-1-07). Things you need to know about your old laptop before upgrading: socket type, maximum memory supported, compatibility with other hardware, and you need a to know what your doing well.

T5500 @ T7200 Upgrade!!!!!!!
Pros: GRRRRREAT UPGRADE!!!!!!!!!! Buy it, do it!! well.. if you know how to do the upgrade then buy it!! if you don't I strongly encourage you not to, I disassembled my hp pavilion dv9035nr with 1.66 C2D 2MB and must say I was about to faint after 4 hours of dealing with screws and components. I've always been a hard core modder so I managed to do it without concequencies. also this nobody tells you: you MUST wear a wrist strap grounded to your workstation in order not to blow up critical components of your laptop. i did it. don't think it's silly.. remember id you laptop you are carving up. I would post pictures of it if I could. anyways.. the thermal desing of my hp dv9035nr is up to specifications to well dissipate a T7200. you better find out if your laptop is before buying. temperatures are the same as before, plus with the crystalcpuid software I am running the processor @ 2Gz with a much lower V.core. now runs at same temps as the 1.66 C2D did and I am so happy for the 4MB Cache :D
Cons: None!!!!!
Other Thoughts: the shipment was fast and ON TIME!!! which is the most important thing after all. right?

Will it work?
Pros: Seems as though it would make a great upgrade
Cons: Don't know if it will fit/work with my D### 9300 laptop
Other Thoughts: I've got a d*** 9300 laptop, Pentium-M 1.7ghz single core, and would like to upgrade. Some forums say yes, some say iffey at best. Has anyone got first hand experience/knowledge of this swap working. Thanks

OS X or Windows....this chip is fast either way
Pros: -Efficient processor architecture compared to P4/NetBurst as well as K8 -4 MB L2 cache -Exposed chip die for better heat transfer -Works in mac mini (early 2006 model) with no compatibility issues -x64 compatible -VT compatible
Cons: -Operates very warm
Other Thoughts: I used this processor to upgrade a mac mini that originally came with a 1.5 GHz Core Solo. The little mini is a screamer now with this C2D (and with two GB of RAM). The chip does run rather warm, about the mid-50s C when at idle and the mid-to-high-80s C when under full load (SMP folding@home). This may not be a fault of the chip but rather a fault of Apple's cooling design in the mac mini as others using this chip in a mac mini have reported similar operating temperatures. Either way it has been running full load for a week now with no issues.
Great processor!

It's okay
Pros: It's pretty fast, but I'm not sure how much slower it is compared to the 2.33 gHz 2 Duo core. It's a lot cheaper than it though, so I got this one.
Cons: It's pretty hot, my computer running idle is about 55 degrees Celsius.
Other Thoughts: It's pretty expensive to upgrade right now, so I'm going to wait for a few months for something amazing to happen to happen to the mobile processors, then I'll upgrade.

Great CPU!
Pros: I upgraded my Asus S96j notebook from a Core Duo T2400 (1.83 GHz) to the T7200. Great upgrade. I notice the biggest difference in media encoding. When compared with the T2400 battery time and temp remains about the same. I'm not sure why people say it runs hot. I'm running about 51C when idle and it creeps up to high 50s when under load. Highest I have seen was 61C when running Prime 95.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Great CPU for notebook. Fantastic for multitasking.

Whoa
Pros: Bought this for my wife's new Asus S96J. Her reaction was, "Whoa, it's so fast!" Then again, she's coming from a P3.
Cons: Runs a little hot but too not hot.

a little better
Pros: about a 15% improvement over a T2400
Cons: runs hotter that a t2400
Other Thoughts: upgraded from the T2400 to the T7200 on my asus N4L mb. Temp averages about 15% higher than the T2400. Not sure if I would do it all over again.

Awesome upgrade
Pros: Entry level 4M cache I believe.. best cost:performance CPU upgrade available. Installation should be easier than a desktop CPU on any normal laptop. The speed difference doesnt even need benchmarking to notice.
Cons: Laptops fans run more than on Solo processor.
Other Thoughts: Chip is probably a great overclocker, but i think you have issues if you OC a notebook. I get temps around 37C during decent work/mutlitasking in a less than par environment.

Nice Processor
Pros: Great for multitasking and gaming on my Toshiba 17" P105-S9722 (as I'm a heavy user of photoshop, flash, audio/video production and multimedia). It completely blows aways my 3.0 ghz prescott 530j. Love the 4MB cache!
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: In response to the person talking about Santa Rose: "Intel sees its OEMs producing Santa Rose products with a 12-inch or less screen size, a weight less than four pounds, and with a battery life of over five hours, all launched at mainstream prices."

Recommended if you have the $
Pros: - Ready for 64-bit Vista - Battery life remained the same - Twice the ache size from Core Duo, from 2MB to 4MB
Cons: - No Noticeable Speed Difference From 1.83GHz Core Duo - Costly Upgrade - Will be outdated in less than half a year
Other Thoughts: I recommend this processor to anyone looking for something that will last, at least in terms of running Windows Vista 64-bit (if you want to wait until Q2 2007, Intel is releasing yet ANOTHER mobile CPU, called Santa Rose, which is going to require a whole new chipset and will not be backwards compatible like the Core Solo/Core Duo/Core 2 Duo sockets are (take a Core Solo out and drop in a Core 2 Duo). At least until then, this is bleeding edge ;-))

Works great in a Mac Mini
Pros: I purchased this CPU on Monday and had it in my hands on Thursday. Newegg, as always, rocks. Price is not too bad either. I installed this in my Mac Mini (which came with the 1.5GHz Core Solo). This was the final step in my Mac Mini upgrades (2GB RAM, 320GB 7200RPM external FW drive) and I have to say, the first impression is fantastic. Everything is snappier and the CPU temperature is about 10 degrees lower as well. Very happy with my purchase.
Cons: What do I do with the 1.5GHz core solo now???

perfect deal
Pros: Fast. Runs relatively cool (not much of a difference between my old Solo T1350). Great deal, obviously best price for performance (4MB cache). Installation is simple (perhaps more so than a desktop) in newer laptops.
Cons: none yet
Other Thoughts: Noticeable performance different from a 1.86GHz Solo. BIOS recognized the model and specifications right away. Runs stable as of yet, havnt overclocked yet.
