have problems
Pros: Ran good for about the first 10 months. Stock cooler is good with no complaints.
Cons: After about 10 months this CPU became unstable and caused my computer to crash and shut down. Overclocked speed of 2.92GHZ. Contacted Intel they are sending me a new one. The temp on the chip never went above 130 degrees F. Maybe just a bad chip.
Other Thoughts: I had bought this from Newegg back in April 30, 2007. I hope when Intel ships me the replacement it last longer then 10 Months. If not I'm going back to AMD. After computer became unstable I backed the over clocking down to 2.33GHZ and ran for two weeks before over heating again. I had cleaned the old grease of and replaced it again with Aritc Silver but continued to over heat and shut down. Have the chip running at stock speed with temps reaching 184 degrees F.

Pros: Much better design than my not-overclocked Pent D 945 (3.4ghz) on watercooling, which it outperforms very well on the intel oem cooler. Very budget friendly and is an all-in-one application processor.
Cons: .
Other Thoughts: Anything intel makes labeled Conroe is going to keep you grinning till your teeth shatter. Best bang for buck yet. Go for lowest speed processor at the highest size shared L2, eg. If you dont know what to buy: a 2Ghz/6M L2 processor is much better at media and databases than a 3ghz/2M L2 processor. Usually they are cheaper. Marketing aims for mhz/ghz to sell.

Great
Pros: Stable, quick at stock speeds. On an Abit Fatality FP-IN9 SLI (Nforce 650i, i got this stable at 2.755Ghz. Using Zalmen 9500 cooler. Great chip.
Cons: None, except that it's not stable at 3Ghz.
Other Thoughts: None, Intel rocks.

Great OC, runs cool.
Pros: This processor is perfect for overclocking. If you want a decent priced dual-core, this is great. It runs cool with stock cooling system. If you want a little extra punch go with the next model up.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Unfortunately for me, my mobo is not up to par with everything else.

Great CPU
Pros: Awesome CPU, Zero problems in 6 months. Overclocked to 2.8ghz with stock voltages and running 100% stable and around 32degrees C with my Zalman 9500A cooler.
Cons: None. Great mid-level CPU
Other Thoughts: Great Price/Performance ratio.

Great CPU
Pros: Fast. It does not get very hot. It usually is around 100F. It also has a three year waranty.
Cons: Fan is beginning to make noises. I have only had it for a half year.

Awesome
Pros: With a good motherboard you can blast this thing through the roof without paying for aftermarket cooling.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: I'm running mine at 3.03ghz stable. I plan on boosting that up to 3.33 soon. You can't beat the 4mb L2. BUY IT

Gerrrrreat
Pros: Great CPU, I got a tray version for 109 at fryxx in San Jose, CA. Put a AC 7 on it with some Arctic Silver5 and overclocked it to 2.94 (7 x 420:)) and have never seen over 43C even on a hot day. The filterpunk guy that gave it 3 eggs is an idiot, if he is getting 85c he sucks at attaching heat sinks, 15 years building systems my rear end, oh wait, back then they did not need thermal paste maybe that is his problem.
Cons: none, as with all the C2Ds this is a winner.
Other Thoughts: got it in a DS3L with 2gigs of reaper OCZ, will hold me over until the 45nm get cheaper.

Solid CPU
Pros: Fast CPU. Easy to overclock. I have this running at 3.01 Ghz for the last six months with no problems. Idle 35c Max 55 on stress test using Freezer 7 heatsink. 4mb Cache is nice and a good selling point. I'm going to keep this CPU for a long time.
Cons: None. I have no regrets buying this. I bought this on the first day it came out.
Other Thoughts: Big improvement over my last CPU which was a Sempron.

GOOD Product
Pros: We orderded 4 of these and all work very well. Like them a lot more than the "D"s they run a lot cooler. 37c to 38c. All the P4 Ds I have built all ran about 60c to 68C. Nice CPU.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: None

Such a great value.
Pros: I bought this to replace a old pentium d 805 and thus far I am amazed. With a g33t chipset gigabyte board I've been able to get this chip to a stable 2.8ghz with some nice ocz gold.
Cons: Coming from a chip that didn't over clock well to this required me to get a better cooler.
Other Thoughts: The Coolermaster Eclipse coolers work very well.

WOW, super OC chip
Pros: The best value core 2 duo on the market! OC like crazy! using a Gigabyte N650iDS4, i was able to OC this baby using zalman CNPS9500LED to 3.21GHZ. I only increase the voltage to 1.4 and it was stable! ran prime95 and cpu-burn in at the same time for hours without a error! stays cool under load, only 47C max.
Cons: if you want to oc this chip, the e6420 could be much higher because of the 8X.
Other Thoughts: Intel also has the best tech support!

It's a winner
Pros: I am completely enamoured by this processor. I've never owned one as fast as this so my recent build has made me very happy and I am looking forward to building more.
Cons: The heat sink and fan are adequate but probably could be better.
Other Thoughts: I'd suggest this one to my own dear mother.

Pros: Great Price, Fast FSB, 4MB L2 cache, very cool running CPU (mine runs between 32 to 34 Celsius)
Cons: Haven't found one yet!
Other Thoughts: This processor is the ticket for anyone wanting to upgrade at a fair price. The E6320 is a very powerful processor at a small price. I just built this into a gaming/media center PC specs, Intel DP35DP Media series mobo, E6320, Gigabyte G-Power HS, 4GB's OCZ Gold 800Mhz RAM with room for, 4 more gigs, AMD/ATI HD2400 Pro, and this thing runs like a dream!

One of the best deals.
Pros: This to me is the best deal in the Core 2 Duo line. It has the same L2 as the big 6550 and others, and a great FSB. I was able to overclock this on a medium level motherboard by Gigabite to 2.7 GHZ. Just using DDR2 800mhz memory that I already had. It's faster then the e6550 and its far cheaper.
Cons: The heatsink Intel boxes with it wont keep it cool enough to overclock. I had to buy a very nice coolermaster to unlock its full power.
Other Thoughts: It's the best CPU I've ever used. For games, photoshop/video work, it is amazing.

I LOVE THIS PROCESSOR!!!
Pros: Excellent speed for low price. 4m of L2 cache is a must today. Cool operation.
Cons: Low multiplier of 7x. Stock fan is noisy and buzzes when speed goes up.
Other Thoughts: I replaced the stock fan with an Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7, which is nice and quiet.

Sweet budget power
Pros: Pretty fast by itself, add in a nice stable overclock to 2.56GHz, and this thing will rock your world. Doesn't get up past 40C under load at that speed. 4MB cache is a plus.
Cons: Stock cooling doesn't allow crazy overclocking, but it's really not neccessary.
Other Thoughts: Running Vista Ultimate with Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L, 2x1GB A-DATA DDR2 800 RAM, and Biostar 7600GT. Runs everything I throw at it.

It's gone up?
Pros: Low power, runs cool, good OC'er.
Cons: Did the price go up?
Other Thoughts: I remember when I bought this, it was 165. I'm pretty sure it wasn't on sale so it's actually gone up in the 3 months I've had it. You know something is selling well when they can bump the prices up rather than lower them. I've OC'd it to 2.6 and it still has plenty of room to go higher but I want to keep it under 40C.

Worth Every Penny
Pros: Out performs most other processors like already has been stated tons of times. Overclocks like it was its job just to overclock. Got mine stable at 3GHz with stock cooling and under volting it a little.
Cons: The stock heatsink isn't enough to safely go past 3 GHz lol
Other Thoughts: It isnt often you by a processor and the price goes up 15 dollars, Wonder why? =D

Rock Solid
Pros: Awesome CPU, the 4mb cache allows me to run both my monitors full of apps and never skip a beat. Can juggle CS:S, AIM, like 9+ Mozilla Windows, WoW all at the same time.
Cons: The stock cooler is a little confusing when you first put it on, cause i wanted to twist the pins after placing it, then i did a little thing called RTFB.
Other Thoughts: I OC'ed this thing on stock cooling to 2.6GHz in a heartbeat, no probs what so ever System: MSI P6N mobo, 2gb Mushkin Ram, ATI X850XT (soon being replaced), 2x HANNS-G JW199D monitors.

Pros: Amazing Chip, Never have any heat issues at all, running stock cooling and am still able to overclock a decent amount.
Cons: The original thermal paste that came with the chip was somehow dried out, and there wasn't much of it. Not that big of a deal though. Just bought a tube of Arctic Silver 5 and was good to go.

Blazingly Fast.
Pros: Very fast CPU, stable, has 4 Mb of Cache. I recommend it for gaming , you can overclock it and reach 3 Ghz and even more.
Cons: I cannot overclock it because of my RAM which is PC-4200. So if you're planning to overclock buy a high-end RAM for this.
Other Thoughts: If you want a great processeor at a good price, I recommend you this E6320. Once Overclocked, it can beat the E6700.

I like it.
Pros: Good room to be overclocked. Cheap. Dual Core. Runs great.
Cons: Low original clockspeed. Mine runs a little hotter than most, but two of the pegs of the heatsink took a little bit of coercing to get to stay in place.
Other Thoughts: I would recommend this over an E6600 anyday, but I'm still only using this as a placeholder until I upgrade to a Quad. If you want an affordable multicore processor, get this.

Overclocks extremely well
Pros: This chip has a lot of headroom for overclocking. It's running 3500MHz (7x500) at 1.5V and 52C under load with aftermarket air cooling. Hitting 3GHz with stock cooling shouldn't be out of the question.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Performance out of the box is mid-range but default voltages can easily take it to 2800MHz. Due to the low multiplier (7), memory speeds are ultimately your biggest limiting factor.

Pros: Very fast CPU for the price, I've been an AMD fan for several years but after building a computer for a friend with one of these I might just have to buy one myself.
Cons: Heatsink was rather flaky on mine, cheap plastic pins really didn't impress me and when installed the cooler didn't cool like it should have (idled at 42C and got to 65C under load), I think it was bad contact, but the thing was as on as well as the mounting mechanism would allow. This wasn't really much of a con since a better heatsink didn't cost much but it might be something to keep in mind.
Other Thoughts: good to see Intel has gotten their stuff together on CPUs

Nice
Pros: I bought 5 of these for a customer build. Installed without issue. Heatsink is nice, if you run stock. And it has preapplied silver paste. Being an "E" series it could be overclockable.
Cons: The heatsink connecters are kinda odd, but work. Check you're all the way through to the other side (as it feels your going to snap your mobo in half).
Other Thoughts: Be sure to line these up right in your mobo socket. When installed correctly, it shouldnt move at all. If you have play, its not right. This is with the CPU pressure plate OPEN.

Overclocked to 3.5Ghz 24/7
Pros: Crazy overclocker, and awesome performer.
Cons: Not cheaper?
Other Thoughts: Overclocked to 3.5ghz, 10hr orthos stable on an Abit IP35 Pro. I have taken it up to 3.7 but it's not stable at that speed. Voltage for 3.5ghz is 1.46v, not too bad. Loads at around 52C with my geminII.

Pros: I have this thing overclocked to 3.15Ghz with an undervolt to 1.30v. The motherboard sets the voltage to 1.337v by default and if you do not want to overclock you will definatelly be stable at 1.20v as I tried this with no problems. I can go higher but you will not really get that much increased performance and the voltage needs to go way higher and you are risking damage to the processor, motherboard and PSU. Even if nothing gets damaged right away, the higher heat from the overclock will reduce the life of your components and it's pointless to take this risk as taking it higher than around 3Ghz will not increase your performance by that much considering you started at 1.86Ghz and there is no possible way you can go higher than 3.5Ghz... search around and even people using N2 cooling, phase cooling or TEC can't even get an overclock that high and their temps are below zero degrees celcius.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Gigabyte P35-DS3R motherboard, 2GB DDR800 Crucial Ballistix OC'd to 900mhz and downvolted to 2.0v (4-4-4-12), C2D e6320 1.86Ghz overclocked to 3.15Ghz and undervolted to 1.30v, EVGA 7600GT 560/1400 overclocked to 589/1444

Good Buy
Pros: Fast, stable and a lot cooler than my old Prescott P4 chip. Stock hsf seems to have been improved a bit since then as well (not as loud) but I've got my Freezer 7 Pro on it now anyways.
Cons: For not much more $ you can get a faster model but my budget was tight.
Other Thoughts: An excellent buy, no more mockery and shame from the amd fans.

High as 3.5Ghz on stock voltage/cooling
Pros: Very good deal - bought it before the price cuts but happy nonetheless. Stock everything and it hits 3.5Ghz no problems with my memory at 5-5-5-15. Run it at 3.15 stock voltage everyday now because I don't need it that high and I like the lower 4-4-4-12 memory settings.
Cons: I think 3.5 Ghz is about max out - didn't respond well even with more voltage. My memory does 500Mhz at 5-5-5-15. Didn't care too much to test it out completely - hey $xx for a C2D at 3.0 isnt shabby at all.
Other Thoughts: Running on a Gigabyte P35 motherboard with Patriot DDR2 PC6500 memory (4-4-4-12 at PC6500 and 5-5-5-15 at PC 8500 settings).

this pup rocks!
Pros: All i can say is wow! this cpu has got to be the flagship of Intel's new line! I know higher end Q2 cores are nice, but for the price this isnt very far away! Had majorly slow boot process with vista ultimate and 3.0ghz pentium D , this pup solved that even at stock speeds! O'Ced it to 2.81 (7x400) and artic silver(a must!) and only increased the temp 5 degrees!
Cons: NONE!
Other Thoughts: If you want the best bang for your buck here buy this cpu!

Easy to OC - fully agree
Pros: OC'ed to 3.15Ghz stable without increasing voltage. Very cool using the stock fan, never exceeds 42C under CPU stress test. Could go faster clocking if increased CPU voltage.
Cons: Don't like Intel's C2D fan assembly design. The heat sink and fan assembly is spring pressed on the CPU surface latching on 4 holes on the MB. The spring pressue is large enough to bends the MB, potential damages to the MB if bend too much, especially under high temperature operations. The design also make it inconvenient to install the fan assembly without messing up the thermal compound. Also the stock CPU fan tend to competes air with the case fan, that makes the cooling inefficient. Either use a case with the CPU air duck to or install a side-blow air cooler to improve cooling efficiency.
Other Thoughts: GIGABYTE GA-G33M-DS2R, Mushkin 2GB DDR2 800, on-board audio/video, Seagate Barracuda 250GB SATA HD

Pros: Works perfectly, and was easy to install. I haven't had any issues except a cord issue, see below.
Cons: The stock cooling unit is rather weird with it's power connection. While the power connection on my motherboard was rather far away, I would still think there'd be plenty of cord to reach. I had to extend it an inch to reach

this is the one
Pros: this is the one to buy. even without an overclock this thing is sooooo fast. i matched this up with an intel board (no overclock but solid performence) and 2gb of corsair 800mhz ram and it just blew me away. upgraded from a socket 478 p4 prescott with 1gb ram. i am floored!!!
Cons: ive seen people report different temps with the stock cooler. mine peaks at 38C under full load. that seems fine to me being that my p4 prescott used to run at 60C!! lol
Other Thoughts: if you dont buy this your just plain dumb. j/k

booyah
Pros: everything about it, cost, speed, OC'ing can over clock 1ghz+ easily, can't say that with many processors
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Don't pay for more, this is the lowest Core 2 Duo with 4MB of cache and you can over clock to 3.0 ghz with ease. Mine is running at 2.8ghz solid for 2 weeks of high stress (4 virtual servers) with nothing more than stock cooling. (which makes sense because the same heat syncs come with he higher clocked cpus)

Excellent CPU
Pros: I couldn't believe the speed of this processor. I can do so many different things at the same time with no slow down. And the price was really good too. Plus, I upgraded from an 1.6ghz AMD Athlon processor, so, performance difference is definitely going to be noticed.
Cons: None really at all.
Other Thoughts: I read it's a great overclocker, but make sure you get a good motherboard that lets you.

Intel 6320
Pros: Great processor. Wanted to update at lower cost and this was the good deal. Newegg service was quick. I recommend this to upgraders.
Cons: Intel CPU fan installation is difficult at best. A very poor engineering system as one of the cheap plastic holddown pins broke. Great tech support sent a new fan.
Other Thoughts: NO MANUAL. Large flow chart but I would have preferred a manual esp regarding the CPU fan.

Very fast!!!
Pros: This is the best cpu ever! With stock cooling and an overclock to 2.52GHz it runs at 24-37
this is a very fast CPU and it overclocks so well, I would overclock more (3GHz) but my PSU cant take that
Cons: I got a zalman CPU cooler but now i dont need it :(
Other Thoughts: Dont get the CPUs above this, its better to just overclock this one.

Heat
Pros: I don't understand why buyers keeping saying the chip runs hot? I overclocked it, fully boot, run games battlefield 2142 and it runs at 47-48 with stock fan. Really careful with the initial installation you shouldn't have a problem with heat.
Cons: Nothing so far. Little bit pricey. Budget problem should get e4400 or Pentium D 915 above. Not much benchmarks differ from them but prefer E4400
Other Thoughts: It is amazingly fast. Start up my computer in less than 30 seconds with 500 gigs hard drive. If you a gamer definitely should get this chip

Wow
Pros: Fastest desktop processor period IMO. Overclocking potential is a huge plus. 4mb cache on this model should outperform other 2mb variants.
Cons: 7x multiplier may limit overclock unless you're using extremely fast RAM.
Other Thoughts: I was amazed that this processor runs at 3.15ghz without a sweat. I simply cranked the FSB to match my RAM (DDR2-900) at a 1:1 ratio, added slight voltage (1.35v) and away it went. I'm sure it has more potential but I would need faster RAM. Temperatures remain at or below 50-55C, with an aftermarket cooler.

Pros: runs nicely, much faster than my 939 4400+ but amd will always be in my heart. though intel is winning now after how long
Cons: none, great performance
Other Thoughts: nice overclocker if you have the right board

A best buy
Pros: Very inexpensive, 4MB L2 cache, easy to overclock. Runs extremely fast compared to higher clocked Pentium Ds.
Cons: 7x multiplier vs the 8x multiplier of the E6420. Makes matching FSB to RAM speed result in a lower overclock.
Other Thoughts: Went from an overclocked Pentium D 805 at 3.6Ghz to this chip on a Gigabyte P965-DS3 motherboard. Overclocked this to 2.8Ghz (7x800Mhz effective FSB) with a Zalman cooler. Operates nice and cool. Runs circles around my higher clocked Pentium D. SuperPi used to run 1m34s at 1M and now takes 26s on the C2D

go for it guys
Pros: this little beast is fast! it is pretty quick at stock speeds but after some overclocking man you have got your self a real blazer,i got this thing up and runnig at 2.66ghz (e6700 speeds)and ran sandra lite and guess what it performs equal to a e6700(317$ ya right!)for only 165 and some skill in the overclocking department and a good aftermarket cooler (just to be careful)i can even run it at 3.5ghz but i dont like it, that just seems outragous to me..
Cons: none so far for me!
Other Thoughts: as long as you feel comfortable overclocking.. it is almost a no brainer to get this cpu.with a nice mobo psu and ram you can have this puppy running at 3.5ghz.i dont know about you but that is dang plenty fast for me!

Most affordable performance dual core
Pros: Highly overclockable. How high? My motherboard is actually not good enough to clock the E6320 any higher than 1500MHz FSB, even though I know the cpu can still run even faster.
Cons: Locked multiplier really limits how high you can overclock the E6320, especially when you can only clock the FSB so high.
Other Thoughts: The fully unlocked L2 cache without an increased price is just awesome.

Excellent CPU!!
Pros: I am impressed with this little chip. I wanted to get the quad core but did not have it in the budget at the moment and with the new generation of C2D on the way I thought I would just get this and overclock to satisfy my needs until I can get one of those. This thing can overclock like crazy. I currently have it at 3.01Ghz (430 bus)1.38v perfectly stable and it is sweet! I can go much higher but no real need right now. It is 30c at idle and 39c at full load with my Zalman 9700. Definitely worth every penny for this processor
Cons: NONE
Other Thoughts: My system: C2D E6320 @3.01Ghz 1720Mhz FSB, Zalman 9700 HS/Fan, Abit IP35 Pro, A-DATA 4x1GB DDR2 800Mhz, ATI X1900XTX 512Mb OC @675/792, 250GB SATA, 160GB SATA, 500GB SATA, Cooler Master Centurion5.

outstanding little chip
Pros: Reasonable cost great Performance
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Stock heatsink is very acceptable unless you have other plans beyond default speeds.
Stable @ 460x7 (on air - 41 idle 53load) which is a considerable increase from the default 1.86ghz.
If you get a decently binned chip then there is massive potential there waiting to be tapped into.

Excellent
Pros: Fast, 4MB cache which is a high as u get(as far as i know!).
Runs cool at around 34C and 33C idle and around 42C 43C playing Oblivion.
Cons: Heat sink was a bit tricky to snap in, but once you do it once you get the idea and can get it fairly easier.
Other Thoughts: If you have a budget and dont want to spend so much on a CPU, get a core 2 duo anyways, its well worth it.

Good for the wait until quad comes down in $$$
Pros: I'm impressed with this bad larry. Granted, i'm using an asrock vsta quad board which is the limiting factor in my system but is till managed to get this clocked to 2.08 Ghz with 184 pin (400)sdram with just a 2 celcius increase. I just ordered some 667 DDR2 for this board so i should be able to overclock it more. I'll post and let everyone know how it goes. So far it's handled everything i throw at it and since no one voids a warranty like me thats an accomplishment!!
Cons: For the cash this chip is worth the investment until quad core becomes cheaper. I hear good things about the E4300 w/ overclocking and what not so that may be a better investment for some.
Other Thoughts: Cant wait till july. I hear that intel's newest batch of processors are coming out, if this is true than NEWEGG will be sporting some nice prices.

WOW is all I have to say
Pros: This processor is honestly worth the money. However if you plan on overclocking and you don't have the most expensive of motherboards, then I suggest looking at the E4320 and E4300, as they have a higher multiplier allowing easier overclocking. But yes this thing definitely flies through anything I throw at it. At stock speeds encoding a movie, running a virus scan, and browsing the internet doesn't even phase it. Intel is doing great things and has won me back.
Cons: For the price I suppose the 4320 is a better deal, but I chose to go for this one and I don't regret it.

Best bang for the $$$$!
Pros: The reason I say that is b/c you really have no excuse in buying a much more expensive CPU if - as easy as it is, just by increasing the FSB..... "Voilá!" You've got yourself a E6800 currently going for $975. Just to confirm this, run Sandra afterwards & you'll be amazed @ the achieved result :o)
Cons: n/a
Intel HS/Fan is good but not excellent. A 3rd party product recommended. I'm using a 3d party HS/Fan, the V1 Thermaltake which is keeping temp around 39-40C & 41-42C under %100 load.
Other Thoughts: Running E6320 on Gigabyte 965P DS3, O/C @ 3010MHz from default 1860MHz. I could go higher but i like current temp. The latest BIOS (F12) allow increase of FSB and chipset frequency with minimal voltage changes.Operation frequency 1x1.

Cons: none

Cons: none,,what it is ,A starter for C2D ,it is good.

3.33GHZ Air cooled
Pros: a 1.86 GHZ that goes 3.5 on air cooling?? I have it running now at 3.33GHZ and It's using Orthos had to up the voltage a bit (1.46) but it is perfectly stable.
Cons: more than you need for the price?
Other Thoughts: It makes me cry! get a good power supply with active PFC and a evga 650i ultra or 680i mobo Gskill 6400 RAM and an 8800 or two, BAM this thing rocks!

Wow...
Pros: Fast, fast, fast. Even at 1.86GHz, it was blazing fast. I currently have it at 450FSB, which is 3.16GHz, and at 1.4v (just to be on the safe side).
Cons: None. Ever.
Other Thoughts: I thought I knew fast, with an Opty 165 at 2.9GHz, but this Conroe BLOWS IT AWAY. All thanks to Newegg's low prices and amazing shipping.

Pros: Easy to overclock, just go into motherboard and raise the fsb...nothing else to do.
Cons: stock heatsink is ugly compared to rest of my system, think i will replace. Performs great though.

Pros: Why bother with more expensive C2D's when the Quad Cores will be cheap next year and they will be actually useful? Just get this chip and run it at 3.1 like I did.
Cons: None.

Excellent CPU
Pros: Has 4 megs of Cache, pretty cheap, overclocks to over 3 GHz easy, core 2 duo, doesn't need much energy.
Cons: Costs more than AMD counter-part, but performs far better. Stock at 1.83 GHz
Other Thoughts: I was afraid of switching to Intel after having an excellent experience with my AMD 3700+. But this processor blows my old one out of the water, games run so much smoother now, it's amazing.

Pros: Runs fast, runs cool. It has a very decent stock heatsink which is more than fine if you don't plan on overclocking. 1.86 Ghz in the core architecture is more than enough to power any application now and in the future. Add on that this processor is dual core, then you have a very reasonably priced cpu that will last you for a long time. Buy this if you are considering it.
Cons: It's not a 2.9 Ghz conroe.
Other Thoughts: It may not be the fastest on the market, but does an average PC user who games really need a 2.9 ghz conroe? No, by the time games need that power there will be newer and better processors on the market.

AWESOME!!
Pros: FAST FAST FAST!! upgraded from Barton 2800 and wow what a difference.
Cons: The Manufactures website says it supports pc2 6400 ram! It does not!
Other Thoughts: be sure to set clock speed in bios of Mobo...the 2 that I got didn't clock right!

Pros: Runs very cool. 4mb l2 cache is nice. Excellent overclocking capabilities, even with the stock cooler.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: EVGA 680i mobo, Core2 Duo 6320, 2gb Patriot DDR2 800, EVGA 8800gts, Thermaltake Purepower 600watt psu.

Fast, but questionable
Pros: Runs about as expected. Fast, but not a mindblowing upgrade from my Athlon 64 3200+ Manchester.
Cons: I haven't felt this uneasy about a CPU since the earliest Athlon's. At stock, it runs about 40-42°C per core at idle, which is way too warm for my tastes. It doesn't help that the heatsink attaches via a few flimsy plastic pins, or that the CPU has a metal shim crammed onto it.
It's a nice reminder of why I don't normally run stock cooling, but otherwise, I'm a little shocked that a 60nm CPU cools this inefficiently.
Other Thoughts: While I'm generally pleased, I'm not especially impressed either. If you're moving up from an Athlon 64, you probably won't see a vast improvement unless you pick up a more high-end model.
I'm also feeling a little bit of buyers remorse, as the whole experience has left me feeling uneasy about the cooling required for these. No modern 1.8GHz CPU should be hitting a total temp. of nearly 85°C. Been building systems for over 13 years, but I've never seen anything like that.

Most Excellent Budget Core
Pros: Absolutly spectacular budget core. It runs cool and provides the awesome C2D technology at a great price. This is a great entry level C2D core.
Cons: It isn't quad-core ... or extreme
Other Thoughts: Use this core on a top-of-the-line mainboard and solid ram and you can match the stock speeds of the fastest C2D cores. This makes this a great processor for budget boxes.

Fast as i need it to be
Pros: it runs what i need it to run, cheap and fast, can overclock to 3.0Ghz+
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: to the people who are saying AMD is faster for the same price, think about why AMD is so cheap right now, its because Intel is putting out faster chips then they are

WOW!
Pros: runs amazingly cool, didn't plan on overclocking because it has plenty of speed for my daughters computer but when i saw the temps(with zalman cpu cooler)i just had to idle temps were at 19 C overclocked to 2.6 and idle temps are at 27 C AMAZING only gets to 41 C running two applications of cpu burn-in
Cons: absolutely none
Other Thoughts: instead of spending more on a more exspensive processor get this and a zalman cnsp9500 heatsink and arctic silver 5 and a 2.6 overclock is a given with an asus p5b plus mobo and corsair xms ddr 800 2x512 mem 2.6 is just where i stopped i still havent maxed it out.Don't like to get too close to the edge i just like a little extra speed and keep low temps and stability

awsome chip
Pros: overclocked this baby to 3.0ghz with a liltle increased voltage to 1.475 on gigabyte 965p ds3 rev.1.3 with stock HS, idle at 31c, 46c full loads. this is unbelievable, 61% overclocked on stock hs but only 31c temp amazing.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: everybody should get this cpu, easy overclock for less $

Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I have tagan 900.

Difficult to say anything new
Pros: This chip flat works. OCs easily to 2.0 on a Gigabyte 965P board with no added voltage, etc. I'm not pushing it. Plenty fast as it is for my use.
Cons: None, except price. Wish the next drop were already here so I could have moved up to an E6600, but this is SO much faster than my old system I have no real room to complain.
Other Thoughts: I'm using this for general office/internet use -- the speed is SUCH an asset! What used to take me many minutes now happens instantly. I cna have 10 Word windows open, play a Web station, have multiple web windows open, run a spread sheet, and have a couple of games in the background - with no lag time.
And, as always, Newegg ROCKS.

Pros: Cheap; same core as E6420, E6600, E6700; Mine has made it to 3ghz @stock voltage (425x7@1.35v) and could go higher, but I haven't tested that.
Cons: Multiplier is low (7x), so it requires very high FSB speed to reach its highest speed, if you plan to overclock. Not much more money for faster speeds if you don't plan to overclock.
Other Thoughts: If you are looking for higher overclocks, the E6420 might be worth the extra $20 for a higher multiplier - the E6600 may be worth the extra cash if you want very high overclocks.

4-1/2 Eggs
Pros: It's very fast and easy to overclock. 4M of L2 cache is so nice. Works very well with x64 XP Pro. Never liked Intel much but I had to build a PC using a C2D. Don't care for the socket 775 design, but Intel should be proud of this chip...
Cons: ...and should be ashamed they shipped this with a MICKEY MOUSE beer can piece of cr*p excuse they call a stock HSF. Ret*rded design with a round base that barely covers 75% of the SQUARE chip's surface area. System temp of 29c yielded a CPU temp of 54c at idle. Twenty five bucks and the Thermaltake 775D dropped that temp to 37c at idle. Intel is probably snickering about their profit margins.
Other Thoughts: I don't push my stuff to the edge of insanity. I overclocked to 2.4ghz and I'm happy with that for the time being. Seemingly like all Intel chips, it runs hot. You should NEVER be able to drop 17c over the stock HSF with a replacement/upgrade, unless you are using water or a TEC.

Perfect
Pros: Easy to install the chip. Nice packing. Comes with a good HSF. Nice performance. Greatly overclockable.
Cons: I had a hard time installing the HSF. Probably due to my noob-ness.
