Solid CPU
Pros: Very stable dual core processor. Handles demanding apps with ease. Probably one of the best vaule CPUs available. 700+ hours and counting with no crashes or locks. Runs at 47C/116F under medium load. I use an ASUS fan/htsnk & Artic Silver 5 thermal compound.
Cons: None noted.
Other Thoughts: Newegg service is nothing short of outstanding.

Great Price for something with draw backs
Pros: I have to say its better than my old one which was an AMD Athlon XP 2600 its much faster when multitasking and running programs and gaming, never freezes or slow downs, and great price to its like having a 3.0Ghz+ CPU Chip
Cons: I have to say the one thing i dont like about this, and why it costs cheap its because it consumes twice the energy as my old one, tends to heat up to extreme points of crashing, and makes all 3 fans run at high voltage consumptions just to keep the temperature to a minimum of 55C my old CPU was far better than this, not much comsuption of energy nor it heat up to extremes.

big bang for your bucks
Pros: cheep!!! Great over clocking!!! got 3.3Ghz with a zalman air cooler. no heat issues...in fact its runs so cool i plan to oc more.(the heat pipe near the base on my cooler does not even get warm)
Cons: ummmmmm..... not the newest technology out there but the price and ocing make up for that.
Other Thoughts: running on a abit ni8 sli @ 3.3Ghz 165 X 20 / 1 gig pny 667 running @ 700Mhz / 1600pro PciE 512 oc @ 607Mhz core , 418Mhz mem.
in Quake III im getting 50-60fps solid @ 1280 1024 on full setting in ultra mode.

The AMD 3600 Costs less!
Pros: Good chip for the price.
Cons: The Amd 64 Athlon 3600 costs four dollars less, and its a far better performer. The AMD 3600 is also 65 nm and far more energy efficient.
Other Thoughts: If your building a new system the AMD Athlon 3600 would be a far better choice. If your on a budget and just upgrading from a system compatible to this processor. Get this.

Good for the price and what it does.
Pros: 1) 2.66ghz 2) Dual Core 3) Extremely Cheap to get into dual core (It is the future), especially if you get the oem chip from here for only $xx) Overclock's like there's no tomorrow. 3.6ghz on air! (But then again I have a good case, but still 3.6ghz!)
Cons: 1)Draws a lot of Heat 2)Energy Consumption 3)1mb L2 cache (Should've been 2mb) 4)No Intel Speedstep
Other Thoughts: I was fortunate enough to receive a retail version of this for free from a friend of mines so I decided to build a computer around it. Boy what a gem this cpu was for me, I was able to overclock it to 3.6ghz on air with ease running stable at around 47c's, however I'm currently running it stock at 2.66ghz as I have no real tasks that would need such an overclock. This is a very good holdover, till you can get a core 2 duo.

Excellent!
Pros: Guys, this Intel Processor, has lived up to the bill. For me this was an upgrade from the little celron that was on my hp computer. You can't go wrong for the money, and the bang for the buck is Excellent!
Cons: Might not be the best, but for the money you can't go wrong!

Pros: its a great cpu! i got it to overclock to 30% increase is amazing! thats 720mhz compared to stock 530mhz thats a big increase. i have the intel 975xbx motherboard. its a great overclocker!
Cons: at that much it reachs about 59 to 69 degrees celsius when im gaming but i have a zalman cooler an amzazing cooler.but others dont have that good of cooler.
Other Thoughts: its a great overclocker for games and thanks again newegg for shipping it was great!

Speedy
Pros: Definitly faster Than a Nortwood 2.8. Used my 333 memory.
Cons: Works at 45c with my thermalright XP-90.with a 92mm Vantec fan. Not realy a con.
Other Thoughts: This chip + the $xx GA-81865GME-775-RH that support my old ram, my 20 pin silent power supply, and ready for all the line of core 2 duo...and rock solid since I power on 2 days ago; I am a very happy camper. I have 8 full pages of orders with Newegg over the years. I do not regret any one of them (beside changing the standard Fedex by Ups).

I like
Pros: Very cheap (pricewise), runs cool, fast, dual-core, 64-bit, good overclocking ability.
Cons: Included cooler isn't the best, I hate LGA 775 HSF mounting. Only 533mhz FSB. No virtualization support.
Other Thoughts: Great CPU for the price, worlds apart from a Celeron for only a few hamilitons more. Not the best dual-core out there, but for the price, its a great way to step into the world of parallel computing.

What a chip for the price
Pros: This chip is the easiest in my opinion to overclock. I have a ecs p4m800pro-m motherboard with 1 gb of ddr 400 and I safely overclocked to 3.0.
Cons: To overclock over 3.0 you need ddr2.
Other Thoughts: You can not go wrong at this price for a good overclocker.

3Dmark06 1.1 : 3580
Pros: overclocking; I have it at 3.5ghz 700 mhz, the CPU temp is 45C after running the ntune stable test for 2 hrs.
Cons: stock fan. it is very very loud. don't overclock it using the stock fan, your temps will go up to 70C
Other Thoughts: * ECS C19-A SLI (1.0A) this is my system: * PQI 2gb ddr2 533mhz overclocked to 700mhz * evga 7600 GT 580mhz/1.50ghz overclocked to 604mhz/1.55ghz * Zalman 9500 * Case: Antec Nine Hundred (this case come with 2 120mm fan and a 200mm exhaust fan!

Very Good!
Pros: Very overclockable. It's also cheap. It's extremely worth it for the price.
Cons: The FSB is low (533). The stock multiplier is VERY big (x20!). Runs HOT. The stock Heatsink/Fan is useless. THERE ARE OTHER BETTER CHOICES. THE PENTIUM D 915 PRESLER HAS A 800FSB AND HAS 65NM CORES. SAME AS THE CORE 2 DUO E4300.
Other Thoughts: THE PENTIUM D 915 PRESLER IS A MUCH BETTER CHOICE. IT'S ALSO THE SAME PRICE ($100)!

105F at idle?
Pros: Its cheap, multitasks like nobodys buisness.
Cons: Is it supposed to run so hot? Coming from a A64 to this was quite a shock, the p4 idles at higher temps than my A64 hits under a load.. Hey but its still stable!
Other Thoughts: If you want dual core, this is an affordable way, works good with asrock dualvsta board.

Just what DR. New Egg orderd
Pros: Powerful package for short money. I have my D805 on a 775daul-vsta with all default-auto settings and fsb of 150 2x3000mhz stable
Cons: does not mow the lawn and cook!
Other Thoughts: where is the quad core version for short money?

Owesome OC possibilities
Pros: This CPU is great for overclocking. I have OC'd it about 15% which is max for my mobo and know that it will go higher. This is even with stock cooling. It gets hot but I have yet to put in Silver, just used to add some. Great price for dual core.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: When installing I have not pushed till it snapped in but have twisted the locks to unlock them and then gently pushed them into place with a flathead screwdriver and locked it. I found this much easier and didn't flex the mobo as much. Definitely scrape off the junk on heatsink and put silver on.

GREAT ITEM!!!
Pros: Ultra fast in windows. UNDER 100 BUCKS! (this is the reason I could afford 2 gigs of ram :D). Ive heard of great overclock options, but havent tested them myself yet.
Cons: None, I cant think of any for that price. Cpu fan starts 2 seconds after bootup.
Other Thoughts: Just really a great item.

The Best Ever
Pros: I bought this chip and immediately cranked it to 3.5~. I then bought a Zalman cooler. I also learned how to trick windows into thinking that the front side bus is not any higher then 627~, which fixed my problem with not being able to boot into to windows after a certain point. It kept saying that the ntldr file was missing "Whatever". I now have this thing running at 3.77~. It hits 35c Idle, 51c full throttle 3dmark 2006. I have the voltage at like 1.385~. I think that if I let it sit on this mark for a couple weeks, I could easily crank it up some more.
Cons: I don't think that any one that actually knows how to over clock can complain about this chip.
Other Thoughts: I hit a CPU score of 1880~ on 3dmark 2006. That's like saying it is a $1000 Processor. I'm happy with that. I have a Asus p5ld2 Deluxe mother board and 2.5 Gigs of memory Kingston 667. I also have an Radeon x1600~. Good hard drives yada yada. Big case,

It works and it's fast
Pros: Worked on the first power up and hasn't stopped
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Needed to be able to pull in digital video from a DTV tuner that taxes the CPU. This Dual Core handles the task. I'm pulling in 1920x1088 HDTV over the air with no problem.

Good freakin' chip
Pros: I couldn't afford a C2D so I got this chip. Good chip. Running at 160 MHz x 20 = 3.2 GHz. Without touching the voltages(1.376 Vcore). It's stable, and it's got much more speed left in it. But I'm gonna keep it right here.
Cons: HOT! Stock cooling run like 60C under load. Be sure to get areal cooler, like a Tuniq 120 or something.
Other Thoughts: Multitasking is much better than my old AMD64 Clawhammer. It's nice to play games and watch DvD at the same time, lol.
But it's the cheapest dual core chip out there. If you want dual core on a budget this is the best deal in town. And at 3.3Ghz+ oc, you'll have the same performance as a E6300 for half the cost.

A Wonderful alternative...
Pros: Purchased with an asrock mb. I have been an AMD guy for a long time, and decided to give the competition a try. So far, I'm pretty impressed.
Cons: Only a fsb of 533, I may have to try another processor clocked at 800...
Other Thoughts: Seems to be a good value

Good runner, but LOUD fan
Pros: Dual core 2.66 Ghz, lots of L2 cache, 64 bit support, retail Intel product and it's cheap.
Cons: The fan gets really really load. Literally annoying. Literally. Get an aftermarket fan (but use and keep the stock one for warranty, then install your aftermarket so it looks like you used the stock fan) or get another pentium D. Last option may even be cheaper.
Other Thoughts: Good stuff, but bring your earplugs.

bang for the buck
Pros: Dual-core, LGA 775, 20x multiplier (allows it to overclock like a beast), clocked at 2.66 stock, price in two digits instead of three, rated at 1.25 - 1.4 volts, which should get you past 3.5ghz easy (ie: don't really have to worry about over-volting if you're not confident in your cooling solution)
Cons: HOT! But hey, cool it with a zalman 9700 . . . Only 2mb L2 cache, and it's actually split into 1mb+1mb, instead of just sharing the whole 2mb between both cores, which IMO would be more efficient. Not the largest L1 cache either. Not hyper-threaded.
All these cons are pretty much expected at this price range, and even with-out all that snazzy stuff the insane clock-speeds this thing is capable of more than makes up for it.
Other Thoughts: pentium d 805 over-clocked at 4.2ghz, evga 680i, 7600gt oced to 650mhz core and 1550 memory (bought evga's cheapest offering of it with poor cooling, so for now I've got a li'l 40 or 50mm fan mounted on the end to exhaust out the expansion bay slots), 1gb A-Data ddr2 800 5-5-5-18 (oced to ddr2 1000 4-4-4-12 at 2.5v, thermal pads between mem banks and heatspreader removed and replaced with arctic silver, 40 or 50mm fan blowing cool air from the bottom of my case vertically across the modules since the slots are vertical.), OCZ GameXstream 700w psu, wd caviar 7200 rpm 320gb hdd with 16mb cache, samsung sh-s182m/bebn dvd burner with lightscribe and probably the most balanced speeds available (ie, some burners may be a little faster at one task, but at a performance for different types of tasks), all packed nice and neat into a heavily modded tt armor case with 25cm side-panel fan.
I think that should be enough info to help at least a few people make an informed purchase.

Runs fast.....
Pros: This baby moves. I opened a bunch of applications at once and they all ran very well. It's running about 100F which is a lot cooler than my old one. I'm using the ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler fan and heatsink which I bought seperate and paste instead of the stock pad. I like the way the HS and fan mount. I had no problem with putting to much pressure on the board mounting it.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I'm using a program called Speed Fan to monitor this cpu. I have the fan running at 70% and the cpu is still running cool at about 100-110 F.

Great Overclocker
Pros: I have been running this at 4.0Ghz for 10 months. Water cooled with Thermaltake bigwater745. Runs 34c at idle,42c.at full throttle hard gaming.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Asus P5ND2-SLI,OCZ Gold 4X 512 DDR2,duel channel, OCZ 700W PS, EVGA 7900 GT's in SLI Note DO !NOT! use Asus software for overclocking. Voltage needs to come up a little also or It won't boot at 4ghz.

Spiffy I suppose
Pros: It works, its dual core and runs faster than my old dell as far as I can tell. Thermal material on the heatsink is a nice touch but you will need some better stuff if you want to keep it as cool as you can with the stock hsf. Which in that case you would get a new hsf.. .so yeah
Cons: Hate the way the heatsink hooks up. Didnt want to apply too much pressure and break the board.
Other Thoughts: Price of the 820 went down about $xx after I buolt the pc that had this one, too late for a refund... If the price were the same Id go with the 820, higher clock speed higher fsb still dual core, still fancy...

AWESOME !!!!!!!!!
Pros: CHEAP, Dual core, CHEAP !! This cpu is VERY overclockable !!!
Cons: None so far..
Other Thoughts: My computer was a e6600(2.4Ghz) Core 2 Duo and I decided to build a new system and use the e6600 again,so I took it out of my current system and threw a PENTIUM D 805 in it because it was a cheap fix. WOW,,I can`t belive how good it runs my apps. I have it overclocked to 3.0Ghz and have had it has high as 3.8Ghz and it would go higher if I had more memory. This processor for under a C-note is the best value!!!

Great proc for the money
Pros: Dual core, decent cooling fan, runs most anything with no problems
Cons: Although the fan is good, my average cpu temp is 48C, a little bit on the warm side. My computer also almost crashed while i was transferring files over my LAN.
Other Thoughts: Great buy overall.

Great Overclocker!
Pros: Extremely overclockable! I'm currently running @ 3.6GHz with Arctic Freezer Pro @ 1.34v with temp. around 32'C idle and 40'C at full load. I managed to get it to 4.0GHz @ 1.55v with temp. 38'C idle, 55'C full load without any problems, however, the system get really loud then. Cheap thrill!
Cons: Gets hot.
Other Thoughts: Buy good mobo & replace stock fan if you want to overclock. Replacing thermal compound with something like Arctic Silver helps cool down CPU a lot.

WOW it overclocks
Pros: It's MEGA-overclockable... Too bad Core 2 Duo came out to make this thing obsolete... I was braggin to my fellow techies on this find [thanks tomshardware.com]
Cons: None ~~
Other Thoughts: Absolutely great buy. It's uber cheap, Very great overclockability meaning it's life is going to be, nearly everlasting.
Budget systems GET THIS PROCESSOR Gaming systems GET THIS PROCESSOR [if you're not unlimited on funds]
If you got money to splooge on Core2, get that.. This CPU is becoming obsolete fast, even overclocked :)

Buy it before the price drops again!
Pros: Mine is overclocked to a conservative 3.34GHz. Solid as a rock!
Cons: Warning! Warning! Will Robinson!!! DO NOT USE THE STOCK FAN WITH THIS CPU--It will badly warp your motherboard and cause you severe problems down the road. Do yourself a favor and get a nice quiet fan like the COOLER MASTER RR-LCH-P9E1 92mm UFO CPU Cooler.
Other Thoughts: Be sure to use a motherboard which can overclock this. I have had good luck with Asus myself. Avoid cheaper brands as many do not overclock well.

Pros: Currently have mine at 3.6GHz on a Biostar 965PT. Bought both at Newegg, of course for just under two hundred bucks including shipping. 100% stable on Prime 95 + Super PI running. Core voltage at 1.350 - just a touch above the 1.30 stock. Have a Thermaltake 7000 series cooler (mine is all cooper with the 92cm fan - forget model # - 7200?) that keeps it a nice 35C idle, 55C full load. Running at the same speed as Intels 950D for less than 1/3 the price!!
Cons: Reviews have said the stock cooler is no good for overclocking. I already had a good after market cooler, and Newegg sold an adapter for that cooler to mount on a socket 775 board for like four dollars! Thanks Thermaltake, thanks Newegg. So I never mounted stock fan. Wish I could get it to go even faster - Tom's hardware got thiers to 3.8 on air. I'm enjoying very nice memory timings at 3.6 however - 4 4 4 10
Other Thoughts: I wanted a 6600 C2D, but did not feel like spending another three bills when I was already purchasing new MB, Video Card, Memory and Hard drive. Figured this will hold me till summer. I've since read that the processor I want is dropping about one hundred bucks in price Q2 '07, so I'd say I lucked out. Get into dual core cheap!

Pretty Good 90mm dualie
Pros: Replaced stock cooler with Arctic Freezer 7. Since then it runs quite cool.
Cons: price dropped a little sine i bought it. NOt as powerful as the C2d which will replace it in its price bracket. A Netburst
Other Thoughts: Looking forward to OC'ing this to 3.4 or higher. writing this for my friend whose pc i helped build a month or two ago

One of the Greatest Creations
Pros: This has to be one of the greatest processors I have ever experimented with. Great speeds even at it's original 2.66ghz speeds. Tested against a 2.4ghz P4 A system and the 805 computer went 7 times faster with media processing power. Over clocking it to 3.1ghz and it was substantually faster then before! Though with the ASRock Dual VSTA board anything higher then 3.1 went bust or was unstable. This also runs cooler then most P4's "38c idle 41c load with stock heatsinc and fan"
Cons: I had to RMA the first one I received back to intel. But they were very suportive and gave me some insight on somethings I needed to do with this processor in a future machine.
Other Thoughts: So invest into a great motherboard like Gigabyte or ASUS "not saying the ASRock is bad, it is very stable and great experience to work with." But if you want that extra boost you need that extra power that those boards can offer. ^^ You wont regret your experience with this Intel's little steam Engine

Overclocks With Ease
Pros: Fast, cheap, overclockable, 64 bit dual core
Cons: Does generate heat but not so much that a good cooler can't take care of
Other Thoughts: Overclocked to 3.24 ghz with an Artic Cooler. There's plenty more left in this little 805 and it runs 50 C under load.

Great Overclocker
Pros: 4.0Ghz Runs rock stable on Asus P5ND2-SLI OCZ Gold 512x4 DDR2667 at 700 Bigwater 745 cooler never goes over 40c
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Must set cpu and ram voltage right but not too high. Be patient.

Overclocker choice
Pros: The cheapest dual-core CPU on the market with great and scalable overclocking capabilities. You can use two different OC (overclocking) ways. “Hard” way can let you achieve 3.8-4.1GHz with extreme air and water cooling systems. “Easy” way let you raise up to 3.6GHz with native BOX(!) cooler. So easy way cuts 0.2-0.3GHz and saves 30-150$ because you do not need expensive cooling system. You just have to decide either you overclocking enthusiast or power user.
Cons: High power consumption and heat dissipation of all Pentium 4 and Pentium D families when you compare them With Core Duo or Athlon 64 and x2.
Other Thoughts: If you plan to overclock Pentium D 805 you need: 1. Well ventilated case with powerful power supply (350W and up for major brands with “honest” watts (like Thermaltake, A-Open etc.) or 450W and up for others) 24pin with ATX12V connector. 2. Overclocking motherboard, for example ASUS P5B-E, Gigabyte GA-965 S3 (perfect MB but has S-ATA 2 issue), ABIT AB9 will fit the best. Chipset i965P will let you to switch to Core Duo later. 3. Good DDR2 modules PC-677 or PC-800. Real bargain is WINTEC AMPO 512MB Item #: N82E16820161066 – 512Mb PC-800 for 49.99(!) if you plan to install 2x512=1Gb of RAM.
PS. I use Gigabyte 965P-S3 (Item #: N82E16813128017) , Intel BOX cooler, RAIDMAX Scorpio ATX-868WSP case with 420W PS (Item #: N82E16811156139), and 2x512Mb DDR2 PC-800 WINTEC AMPO (Aeneon chips). CPU works stable at 3.6GHz in “easy” mode (1.39v.) and at 3.8GHz at “hard” mode (1.44v with annoying cooler noise).

Best buy for the money....period.
Pros: 20X multiplier, under $xxx, dual core, 64-bit, the best OC chip around
Cons: Depends on the board you put it in, but in general, none.
Other Thoughts: Bought this with the Abit AW8D board combo for ~$200, got it up to 187+ FSB and stable (3.7ghz), but can't seem to get any further (most likely the board). But hey, 2.66 to 3.7, for under a bill....Eggselent! I'd say if you want to go 3.8+, better get an ASUS premium board with a good PSU. Put a gig G-skill in and upped the V to 2.0....runnin' like a Lamborghini at 99F under Prime95 torture. Would recommend this chip to any baller on a budget.

Pros: Works like a horse.
Cons: Stock fan is adequate, but if you want to run really cool, get a better fan or a liquid cooling system. Stock fan runs idle (18% CPU usage) at about 45 degrees (C). 80% usage goes up to 73 degrees.
Other Thoughts: If you want/need lots of power, you might want to hold off a bit for quad cores coming out

Cheap dual core... but HOT, HOT HOT!
Pros: good vehicle for moving to dual core, 64 bit era...easily overclocked to 3.6GHz on my cheapo asrock board (paid a benjamin for both)...huge upgrade from my athlon xp 2500 for little money
Cons: 3 words... HEAT, HEATSINK AND HEATSINK! with watercooling i was at 32C, but when my pump died (thermaltake)...I had to resort to the stock fan (50c-70c) and I don't even game!...
Other Thoughts: Well worth the money if you cant afford 2 bills more for the conroe...but be prepared to buy a costly heatsink

Great Workhorse
Pros: Easy and stable w/ overclocking. No blue screens. It can be overclocked using the stock HS/Fan.
Cons: Stock HS/Fan not that nice.
Other Thoughts: This is my third pc I've built with this baby. Nothing beats it for the price. Make sure you get rid of the stock thermal pad and clean well before using thermal compound.

Must buy
Pros: So much performance for price!! This thing flys!! Everyone that doesnt have this thing hates it because it can put some serious machines to shame quickly.
Cons: The stock fan bends the heck out of the motherboard. Buy a new fan asap.
Other Thoughts: Overclocked to 3.3 so easily. This is now my starting baseline for building pc's is this cpu. I will only build with this and dual cores. This thing is very very impressive. So worth the money!!

Pros: A great overclocker for a great price!
Cons: In my mind that's the ONLY reason to purchase this chip. As of 11/24 you can spend $5 more and get the 820, which has a bit higher core clock and 800MHz FSB.
Other Thoughts: This is the better overclockers chip, but the 820 is the better bang for the buck at stock speeds.

Great Cpu for a Great Price!
Pros: This processor handles alot of things. I am a person who doesn't really want the best of the best, but something that will do its job, at the minimum. Making a lan party machine, this was great. It does anything, mines currentley clocked at 3.9 ghz.
Cons: Absuletley nothing.
Other Thoughts: Upgraded from a 3.4 ghz Prescott Pentuim 4. Glad I upgraded!

I will marry this chip
Pros: Blazing fast when over clocked to 3 .8GHZ on my water cooling set
When I over clocked it to 3.8GHZ with my asus p5nd2-sli motherboard, my D-805 was so fast that it took me 2 weeks to get used to the extra horsepower. . . . WOW
Cons: Wow this baby gets hot! I mean really, hot!
Other Thoughts: Good price for dual core entry level processor. I would have gotten core 2 e6300 but its DOUBLE the price but NOT double the performance, so I stuck with this baby, and everything things been blazing quick ever since

Pros: Great overclocking ability, but that goes without saying now. This is a great "hold me over" cpu until I dig into a conroe later on. This cpu chews through bf2 bf2142 on only a 3.2ghz overclock. A world of difference compared to my old p4 2.0 northwood.
Cons: Big power draw, and runs really hot. Ditch the stock HSF if you plan on overclocking over ~3.4.
Other Thoughts: I love this cpu, and I got it just before the price jumped back up! Very happy with it, got just what I expected. I run it with an Asrock 775dual-vsta btw, which has been the ultimate budget build in my opinion.

A++
Pros: I bought this CPU combo with the PCCHIPS P23G 3.0 and wow, its fast and stable. Stock fan is easy to install. CPU is 35c MOBO 38c :)
Cons: None tho, UPS sucks!
Other Thoughts: I'm an average PC user and I upgraded from a P4 2.4GHZ and wow. I can see the differences. Everything loads just loads faster!

The best CPU for low budget
Pros: Simply the best that money can buy. I have this thing clocked at 3.75Ghz @ 1.4v and it is 100% stable!! This is a very very good cpu and it is easily overclockable to speeds of 4Ghz and above (according to Tom's Hardware). Just make sure that you have proper cooling and a good motherboard to go with it.
Cons: The stock fan and heatsink is not very good. Don't plan on OC'ing with the stock stuff since it runs red hot. I recommend AC Freezer Pro 7.. I have mine clocked at 3.75ghz and it only idles at 33C.

The Dual Core Budget Champ
Pros: Excellent overclocker as you have read from the other reviews. Intel sure did it this time. Easily at 3.3ghz with stock voltages. Working on going higher.
Cons: Heat when used with the "insufficient" stock fans. Better get a zalman or thermaltake cooling product and some artic silver 5!
Other Thoughts: Air cooling right now with a zalman cnps9500 on a budget board as well, the ASRock 775Dual-VSTA Socket T (LGA 775).

Amazing Cpu
Pros: Amazing CPU, stock cooling (plus my other 5 fans (lol) brought it to 3.2ghz without a change in tempeture, granted its at 42 degrees but still, for how cheap it is, dual core 64-bit 3.2ghz processor with even more overclocking to look forward to, my hats off to intel for this qwerk of a processor.
Cons: worried about overheating, showed no signs...but im still worried

You will buy this CPU. Yes, you will.
Pros: OC 3.6ghz @ 1.450v. (P5W DH Mobo, 600Watt PSU) Prime95 running for 3hrs so far and MBM5 relates 50C temp on full load! (OC 3.8ghz @ 1.525v jumps temp to 60C)
Cons: Power consumption (ie voltage levels) increases exponentially with the FSB uptweak. Stick with 3.6ghz OC (180FSB, max DDR-720) on air-cooled to keep your temps down.
Other Thoughts: Buy a different heatsink/fan. Zalman's CNPS9500 is a monstrous copper beast but it WILL let you OC this CPU without any problems.

3.84 GHz
Pros: Easy overclock to 3.84 GHz. 192 fsb x20, stock voltage. still using the stock heatsink, keeps it just as cool as stock speeds, just gets louder.
Cons: at this price, your stupid to put anything here.
Other Thoughts: got lucky on getting a chip capable of 4+ GHz, just awaiting a new heatsink before i touch the voltage.

INTEL OBABY
Pros: I got this back when it was $xxx :( have it in a Media PC 3rd Intel in my life.
Cons: This Thing Runs VERY HOT (could also be the SFF CASE I have also). Alot of force is needed when installing the HS.
Other Thoughts: Cheap and it works might get rid of my AMD 64 and get another for my main rig. Heat no issue in my main Rig thats been Watercooled since 2002 with DD parts might get a 4.0ghz for $xx bucks OBOY!

Great dual core bargain
Pros: Dual core multi-tasking ability, low entry price to dual core arena, runs cool with stock heatsink and fan IF installed correctly. 30 degrees idle, <40 degrees with moderate load, no OC.
Cons: None for this price range.
Other Thoughts: I haven't tried to OC, but it seems the consensus is that it will do so quite nicely. Others also say that the Pentium D's run hot with the stock heatsink and fan. I disagree and wonder if they installed it correctly. The amount of force needed to fully seat it can be scary, but follow the instructions and all will be well.

Really needs to be OC'd
Pros: Cheap price.
Cons: Use stock fan as a paperweight.
Other Thoughts: Asus P5ND2-SLI mobo, this CPU OC'd to 3.34gigs, Scythe KATANA fan, Corsair TWIN2X2048-5400c4 meme @ 675mhz, Biostar 256mb vid card. Hiper 580W PSU.(overkill but the 520W Apevia turned out to have bad voltage regulation--system would not POST.) Xion ATX case with 2 hard drives, Lite-on DVD burner. Idles @ 34C, 100% CPU usage 40C. As usual, NEWEGG rocks!

Great!
Pros: This processor is excellent! Out of the box, it is kinda slow, but it has enormous overclocking potential. Get this: With the stock cooling and with no other adjustments besides the FSB, its running stable at 3.19Ghz! And my case has terrible airflow too! Temps are a little higher than i'd like them, but 40 degrees C is not bad for a 20% overclock. I'm getting a better cooler soon, and I expect that it will be able to handle 3.4 Ghz no problem.
Cons: It's getting cheaper every day... after u buy it, the price will go down. Lol.
It's no core 2 although. :(
Other Thoughts: Get this processor! For less than the top of the line pentium D, you can buy this processor, buy some water cooling and get comprable performance.

Pleasantly surprised.
Pros: I have always been an AMD guy, but it was so cheap!!! Surprisingly good little CPU, and the best value on the market for a dual-core. Can hold it's own with a 3800+X2 for less money.
Cons: Runs a little warm with the stock cooler, but it's acceptable. Wish the FSB was higher, but at this price who cares?!?

2.66Ghx @ 4.01Ghx / Stable
Pros: VERY good overclocker, with water cooling 4Ghz range is not too hard to reach. I'm using a Dangerden.com setup that keeps the CPU around 33c @ idle and mid 50c's at 100% load for extended periods of time.
Cons: none so far!
Other Thoughts: Price per Mhz = TWO CENTS! @ 4 Ghz! You won't find that with an Extreme Edition CPU!

805 D overclock
Pros: price: $xx
speed: 3.8 GHz
cache: 2x2Mb
upgradability: just buy the next gen core 2 duo or quad Conroe when you need to upgrade. Same motherboard socket.
Cons: Full load temps: 64*C idle: 52*C
These are with the stock cooler provided.
Other Thoughts: I purchased three of these. Each run within 92% of the benchmarks of overclocked (3.33 GHz) Conroe chips in floating point benchmarks and multimedia benchmarks. This IS the best gamers chip around. It IS 1/4 the price of the Conroes. They will run way past 3.8. Mine can run up to 4 GHz but the stock cooling starts to overheat as the voltages are maxed out on the motherbaord (P5W-dh). The best benchmarking scores have been seen at 1.425 volts @ 3.8GHz (190x20). Using a volt mod (and upgraded cooling) or a different motherboard with higher voltage limits will yield higher overclocks. I suggest the thermalright ultra 120 if you're going to push these processors as far as they can go on air.

Pentium D 805
Pros: Fantastic CPU (if you have water cooling). Overclocked to 4.100 ghz @ 205 fsb, put this bad boy though 48 hours of looped 3d mark 06 with all graphic settings maxed. No crashes at all, make sure you get a good motherboard that uses the PT880 Pro chipset, like ASROCK Dual VSTA series. Cheap motehrboards do not have independent bus overclocking, and you will not get past 3.6 ghz without it crashing.
Cons: CPU has a slightly high power consumption @ 4.1 ghz, I read 162 watts at the socket just from cpu power consumption. So get a 600 watt power supply or higher if you plan on overclocking past 3.8 Ghz.
Other Thoughts: Happy overclocking
- Mhz Matterzz, :)
Working Settings
4.1 Ghz @ 1.375v ,205 FSB

Pros: if you are lucky enough to get revision B0, overclocking potential is huge. Other wise cpu runs cold fast and reliable.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: well done intel

this 805 rocks
Pros: wow.....i am amazed at how this puppy performs....built a complete system for 500 bucks...wow....and to top it off i got this at 3.6 stable with stock voltage of 1.220 and stock heatsink.... idles at 35c and tops 42c.....
Cons: the original termal compound is like makeup...its all pasted and caked on there....i recomend removing the original thermal compound and applying a thin layer of artic silver compound....and apply heatsink with even amount of pressure so that you do not offset the heatsink.....
Other Thoughts: pentium d805...oc'ed to 3.6 on stock cooling......radeon x850pro....320 gb hard drive...sony dvd-r/cd-rw drive....able to rip and convert a dvd to divx full 1024x768 size in 7 minutes....wow....my athlon xp 1800 took 2 hours just to copy dvd to hard drive....best deal around

Hot little number
Pros: Cheap Fast Dual Core Zalman, is there anything you can't do?
Cons: Intel's @#$!% heatsink
Other Thoughts: Ran it with the stock HSF, idled at 63 deg C. Threw the HSF in the garbage, bought a big Zalman cooler and got that puppy down to 40 deg C. Had a 120mm case fan working with the Zalman to pump that air out.

Pros: OC'ed to 3.6 ghz wiht no heat problems, I dunno know what some people are talking about(assuming you get rid of the junk HS and Fan it comes with)
Cons: The supplied cooler.
Other Thoughts: If you looking to bulid a cheap, but fast PC this is a great choice. Just get ur self a Zalman fan and ur good.

Great Processor for the Money
Pros: Overclocked at 3.7GHZ on air cooling (using Arctic Freezer) and idles around 40-41C and at full load I get 50-55C. Runs like a charm!
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Make sure that you are using just the right amount of arctive paste and that you have the heatsink mounted just right or you'll have major overheating issues while overclocking.

its ok
Pros: fast, dual core, cheap
Cons: high heat 71 degrees c on counterstrike source raced it with an amd turion 2.0 ghz and the turion blew it out of the water.
Other Thoughts: this is a great processor but dont use it with a foxcon 865 or you will have stability issues.

WOW
Pros: Dual core, cheap, didnt blow up ( yet )
Cons: One minute it was 49C when i was browsing teh net, 3 min later when i started my game 89C with the stock hsf. I have 3 fans in my case so....
Other Thoughts: Unless your getting a new hsf, or having your case opened next to the AC, then dont get it

Good little dual core CPU
Pros: Get you into the dual core game for less than a Benjamin. Had mine overclocked to 3.014 ghz @ 84 degrees F with stock HSF. Rock solid and very stable like the little engine that can. What more can you ask for?
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Very fast shipping by Newegg. Great job!!!

Chuck the heatsink
Pros: Excellent overclocking potential paired with the right MB. Cheap! Paired with a good aftermarket cooler it runs at 40C under load.
Cons: As soon as you open the box toss that stock cooler in the garbage where it belongs. A z*lman CNPS9500 will cool this sucker down nicely.
Other Thoughts: I've had mine running at 3.8Ghz / 3.5V with the z*lman cooler with no problems so far. The FSB runs slow out of the box but overclocked it's just shy of 800. Make sure you have good airflow in your case before you put this thing in - the s*nata II has a big 120mm fan right behind it that keeps everything nice and cool.

Best Bang For the Buck!
Pros: Excellent procesor, you can overclock it up to 3.3 GHZ without the need to increase its voltage or including another fan and heatsink.
Cons: None yet.
Other Thoughts: It doesnt have HT technology, and its slower at stock settings than any other dual core in the market, but if you know how to overclock it up to 4.1 it can be faster than its superior in the family. Ps: I used Artic Cooling thermal paste.
