Pros: Corsair is top notch stuff

Cons: Endless restart, doesn't work at all in an HP ZE4630US even with current 1.60 BIOS update.

Manufacturer Response:Unfortunately it appears that you have purchased memory that is not compatible with your notebook. Your system requires DDR266 memory, not DDR400. Pros: Install in my Toshiba 2435-s255 model laptop with no problems. laptop started faster and does no. t hang like it did with just 512mb.

Rating + 5 Fast Stable Memory


Pros: Got this for my roommate's laptop. She has a Toshiba Satellite something. I forgot the exact model number, but it runs a Pentium 4 HT. I got two of this and maxed the memory on her laptop at 1 GB. It runs great, no bugs, no hesitation when starting up. All she needs is a HDD upgrade and she is cruising.

Cons: Still cost a little too much for DDR 400 Memory, but for the performance, I can't really complaint.

Other Thoughts: Get this. Check the specs of your notebook/laptop manufacturer first and make sure that this memory will work with it. I've noticed in the reviews that a lot of people just bought it assuming it would work for them. Do your research and you'll be a happy computer user.

Cons: With the memory itself - none.

Other Thoughts: Match the speed of your current memory.
No returns on memory means "Don't take chances" - use several sources to make sure you get the correct size and speed.

Pros: Installed 2 sticks each, in two different laptops (a Dell 9100 and a Averatec 3700). Both increased from 512mb to 1gb. They all worked flawlessly, and improved performance.

Other Thoughts: I have built 7-8 Tower PCs and upgraded 5 laptops over the last 10 years and NewEgg is the 'ONLY' way to go. They are always the least expensive for what you buy. You may find someone else cheaper but they are selling you junk!

Pros: value priced but will not even get into the bios menu on dell inspiron 5100 5 blinks and out cold.

Cons: Dell has a problem with the way their sight follows ram replacement. The Crucial site has the same problem. Inspiron 5100 will not accept pc2700 or pc3200 chips

Other Thoughts: I took a pc2100 chip out of the unit and am now ordering new pc2100 512 sticks to replace.

Pros: Good Price. But most RAM is these days.

Cons: Didn't work in my buddy's Dell Inspiron 5100. But neither did the Wintec (PC2700)'s I tried to replace them with. Gonna try a 3rd time since they say it's a charm. Don't buy Dell unless you want a disposable product.

Other Thoughts: NewEgg made the RMA process very painless so far: I was even able to print the UPS return label from my own printer (Cool, I thought). But this company has always proven to be a pleasure to deal with. Thanks neweggies for consistently great service.

Pros: After reading all the reviews for the memory that my Sony Vaio PCG K25 could take this one has the best reviews. I was looking to upgrade my 4 year old laptop to keep it running well for a few more years. Very easy to install, just snapped into place of the old sticks. Computer boots up in half the time, and runs like new! I would recommend this to anyone looking for 512MB sticks of memory.

Pros: Comes with a lifetime warranty that I have tested in the past; as good as Kingston's warranty! I bought two of these sticks a little more than a year ago and both are running fine. I sold one to a friend a week ago because he desperately needed it. He ordered another one for me of course and it got here yesterday. I put it in and ran Memtest 86+ 1.76 for a few passes and all was good. Previously the sticks were running at 333 speeds w/ CAS 2.5 in my HP ZV6000 laptop. I noticed during memtest that it said the RAM was running at 400mhz and couldn't believe it. Once windows started I ran cpuz and it said 400 mhz also which is the first time I have actually had RAM @ 400mhz...I thought HP disabled 400mhz via the BIOS but evidently not.

Cons: To be fair about this, despite I am happy that my lappie is finally running @ 400mhz on the RAM bus, the RAM does not run @ CAS 2.5 latency as is advertised it should and hence 4 stars vs 5....I have a radeon express 200 chipset in my laptop so you know.

Other Thoughts: This RAM is good stuff and will likely never fail you. Even if it does, just send it to Corsair and they'll send you new RAM back.

Pros: Corsair makes a solid product. Installed and running in minutes; seems about as fast as PC3200 gets.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Went from 1 x 512MB PC2700 to two sticks of the Corsair. Ubuntu is noticeably more responsive. Combined with a new hard drive, my underdog Celeron-M laptop has plenty of power for what I need.

Pros: Extremely easy installation. I ordered two and noticed a diffrence instatly with boot time. Windows loads faster, games load faster, as well as large programs. This memory is a cheap yet effective upgrade.

Pros: Compatible with my Compaq Presario 2199US. No problems on installation.

Cons: Does not have the BGA memory modules shown in the photo (although the sticker indicates correct part number).

Other Thoughts: I upgraded the ram in my HP ZE2308WM from 256mb to 1gb. I found out a few days later that the laptop actually supports 2gigs of pc3200! At any rate, the upgrade was a huge help in performance and this ram worked flawlessly.

Pros: 2 sticks increased laptop's ability to handle multitasking without noticable slowing, trimmed burn time for audio/data CDs from 5 to 3 minutes and boot time down to 55 seconds from 2.5 minutes.

Cons: I didn't buy sooner

Pros: Difference in Performance, after install, was night and day.

Other Thoughts: Thanks Newegg for great service! One Caveat though, it is time to get rid of the expedited processing fee. In my opinion, this retail site is a major retailer and obviously your attention to detail in providing great service is evident. The offering of expedited services conveys the opposite message and implies less than stellar service as your standard. I think most of your customers would agree that simply adding a dollar or two to the cost of your products to defray the additional expense is a better solution.

Pros: Very Good memory for the price. Bought 2 sticks to replace the one 128MB stick in my Balance Digital Laptop. Man it sped that baby up 3 fold at least.

Pros: My laptop came with 2x256 2700 RAM. Put two of these in and turned a ho-hum discount laptop into a gaming machine that runs Day of Defeat:source smoothly (wouldn't even run before upgrade). Overall system perforemance jumped leaps and bounds as well, it's not just for gamers.

Pros: I have had this ram for a little over a week and can see that it is holding up nicely. It took 5 seconds to install, and my ibm thinkpad t31 recognized it instantly.

It did speed it up a little but, but because there was already 512 in there, it didnt seem like a huge improvement, but the ram is good ram from corsair, a brand we all trust.

Other Thoughts: I went and played with the crazy people at WxxMart on Black Friday. I got the HP Pavillion ze2308wm. It came with an Infinion 256MB PC2700 stick installed (Which is good memory, but not enough installed.). I had planned on buying two 512MB PC3200 sticks for it with part of my income tax return. I was fortunate enough to recieve two of these sticks as a present this past year.

I am very pleased with this product. After running the Memory Benchmarks in Everest it seems that the HP lappie has an extremely LOW latency with this memory, 46.6ns.

Pros: I put a couple of these into my HP Pavilion 2308wm laptop and have had zero problems. It instantly gave the huge performance boost I was hoping for. The memory runs at the full 3200 and makes for one heck of a machine for so cheap.

Newegg is great, Corsair makes excellent memory, and the price is nice. Can't go wrong.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Ram is almost always the most overlooked computer component when it comes to performance. It is probably the easiest and typically one of the cheapest upgrades a person can make.

Pros: I like this RAM, I bought it for my HPzv5000z notebook which only had 1 stick of 512 in it. Now I have a gig. To be honest, it hasnt really made that big of a difference, except when switching between big games (like cs source) and your desktop.

Cons: None, I'd recommend this RAM to anyone

Other Thoughts: I think you really start to see major performance boosts once you have over 2 gigs.

Rating + 5 Corsair lives up to it's reputation... AGAIN!


Comments: Got two of these DIMMs to replace the single Infineon 256MB PC2700 DIMM that came with my HP ze2108wm notebook (Don't believe the rubbish from HP; ze2000 series notebooks can and do support PC3200 with their ATI RS480M chipsets). The performance increase is amazing. Quite to my surprise SiSoft Sandra 2005 Professional lists the RAM timings as CL 2.0 (2-2-2-6) which is blistering fast for any SO-DIMM. The 1GB of RAM allows me to play just about any game on the market, and allows me to run any program of choice. Windows boot time was cut in half, and program initializations are much quicker. No more waiting around watching the little hourglass. This RAM is definitely worth the couple extra dollars over the competition. No need to buy the expensive stuff with the fancy names and nauseating stickershock. This stuff is where it's at!
