Best Monitor ever owned
Pros: I picked this monitor up after reading a glowing review from government computer news(GCN). The color accuracy is amazing, as are the rich blacks. Having all the inputs make it the best deal you will find for HD.
Cons: There are some syncing issues with my Xbox 360 and the monitor, but I dont know which one is causing the problem. You just have to turn the monitor switch in the back on and off. Not a pain if you are sitting right in front of it.
Other Thoughts: I am worried that samsung will never offer this again, since it is better than most HD televisions at a fraction of the cost. I wish I could afford another. Never had a problem with the response rate (unless maybe the delay is the reason I am so bad at COD 4)

Great monitor
Pros: Great monitor, nothing more to say that already hasn't been said
Cons: One dead pixel. Though it's near the right edge, so not too bad.

A Great monitor, clear and wonderful
Pros: This thing is beautiful and has a very very bright clear screen. It can rotate 90 degrees for a landscape view, which is great for laying in bed watching TV. I have NO PROBLEMS with the input lag. I have an EVGA 7950 GX2, I use samsung's drivers, and I have a razer Copperhead. I have NEVER had any input lag.
SUPPORTS HARDWARE MONITOR SCALING. If you use a nvidia 7xxx series you need this to play older games @ 4:3. This is what originally sold me on this monitor. Even remembers when you set games/aps to 4:3 or widescreen mode and AUTOMATICALLY changes to that whenever the game/app is run!
Cons: My high-end setup does NOT have input lag, even in FPSes. I don't know what everyone is complaining about. The speakers obviously suck.
Other Thoughts: A great monitor that does everything just about perfect. It even has tv style inputs for game consoles and such. A real gem, it's worth the high price tag.

will stick with samsung lcds for now...
Pros: A while ago, I bought a few 19 inch Samsung SyncMaster 910T. Was extremely happy with them. When I decided to upgrade them with a pair of Viewsonic LCDs... boy, was I disappointed. Went back, and replaced them with these. Very satisfied.
Cons: none

Sharp picture quality, overall great monitor
Pros: Excellent image quality, high contrast ratio (provides a good image), multiple types of input (DVI, VGA, component), bult-in speakers
Cons: The 8ms response time makes it half or almost half the speed of newer monitors with 5ms or 4ms response times. Even still, this monitor works great for gaming, in my experience.

I'm glad I got this
Pros: I debated endlessly on S-IPS, or S-PVA LCDs (don't even think about TN LCDs if you do photo editing). This is an S-PVA monitor and I love the brightness, contrast, and overall color accuracy. By the way I use a Colorvision Spyder2Pro for hardware calibration. Monitor is sharp and fast enough for video editing (and games too).
Cons: Non yet.

Super
Pros: Crisp, bright image, huge screen, very good adjustability, good connectivity for video. On-screen adjustments work well. Works well with Linux.
Cons: Would it have killed them to put in USB ports? I have to decide, browser window on the left, in the middle, on the right? Decisions, decisions...
Other Thoughts: Upgraded from a nice 17" Sony LCD monitor, so I wanted a bigger screen, but with good image quality for photo editing, etc. Big cheap screens are plentiful, but when you dig into the reviews you see they're not right for image editing and a lot of other things. The Samsung is an excellent screen with very good size. 22" screens with HDCP (?) seem all the rage on the Windows side, but I don't use my machine to look at movies or anything, and all I really see with that extra inch of screen is the same resolution with a bigger dot pitch. Not sure that's worth it. Anyway, the Samsung blows away our Dell monitors at work and is even nicer than my Sony. Works well with Linux (just changed the modes in my xorg.conf file and the Nvidia proprietary driver did the rest, no mode lines or anything).

Great purchase-don't hesitate
Pros: Awesome clarity and very bright screen. The swivel screen is great but makes any kind of built in cable management difficult. Nature of the beast I guess, doesn't bother me...
Cons: None yet, and really not expecting any...
Other Thoughts: I researched this purchase for too long. Don't waste your time, this things great!

Pros: Very nice looking monitor. Nice set of inputs. I've connected my PS2 via component and it looks great. It's very easy to switch between input sources.
Cons: Input lag... it exists. I noticed it right away. This is my 4th LCD and is the 1st to have a noticeable lag. Windows loads a generic plug-n-play driver. Make sure you install the Samsung driver from the CD. It seemed to reduce the sensation of lag for me.

The best LCD I've owned
Pros: I ran pixel buddy on it, 0 dead pixels, no back light bleed, no screen door effect. Very good viewing angles, great colours when adjusted. Lots of input and display options and very very adjustable. DVI input work and gives very crisp sharp text and is not bugged!
Cons: the monitor was far to bright and colour temp was off when set at default, needed some time to adjust correctly! included software is a joke but most new video card drivers offer same ( portrait mode, colour adjustment wizards etc). response time is more like 12-16 ms not too bad but not great either ( compared to other 8ms lcds I had ).
stand mount seems small the monitor is stable but can tilt when adjustments are made. OSM is not easy to navigate. built in speakers are a joke!
There is some sparkling effects in movies, I've seen this in other lcds with lower response times ( 12-16ms ). movies look good from far tho. not cheap!
Other Thoughts: a rather pricey monitor but well worth it if you need it! I have used several different LCDS and this is one of the best so far. I would get the viewsonic vx2025wm over this since you could save a bit if you could find one and don't need all the extra features since the extra 1" and inputs might not be worth $120 more.
Another note about lcds for those coming from crts, even the fastest 2ms lcds have input lag compared to any crt, also note that lcds are progressive displays so any input source ( eg tv input ) that is interlaced immediately looks worse on it. Keep this in mind when comparing lcds to crts.

2nd one purchased - Great Monitor!
Pros: The full range of adjustments on the monitor is astounding. I love the revolving base along with the landscape to portrait rotation. The native resolution is incredibly crisp displaying text (LCDs have better defined pixel edges than CRTs) and the input lag people keep complaining about is bogus. The rise-and-fall response time for this monitor is about 10 ms (not a ridiculous 60ms). The gray-to-gray (which isn't even standardized) seems to be higher, maybe double from what my tests show. However, on many LCDs it is as much as 3-4 times higher than the rise-and-fall. Inputs are great. I have used PS2 and XBOX 360 both with component cables and absolutely no lag. If you're experiencing input lag, this is the first test you should do. Plug in any gaming system and see if it lags. It should not, which immediately points to your computer hardware. It could be any variety of things from video card to amount of RAM or memory issues in your OS. But please stop blaming this defenseless monitor
Cons: Default color settings are a little whacked. MagicColor software is buggy. I intalled it and immediately had issues. Uninstalled the software and plugged in a DVD player to use my HDTV setup DVD to adjust the color and brightness settings. Also, many video cards have good color adjustment options. The MagicRotation software also had an issue when I tried to run dual monitor setup with both monitors rotated to portrait. Uninstall the software and things were back to normal. I would like to be able to do this, but I have both monitors on separate computers right now, so its not a pressing issue.
Other Thoughts: Newegg Rocks! Pretty pricey monitor, so keep your eye out for free shipping and a mail-in-rebate. Shouldn't pay much more than $4xx for it.

Good but...
Pros: Excellent color, viewing angle, adjustments and more.
Cons: Suffers from confirmed input lag. ~60 ms to be more precise.
Other Thoughts: I setup a dual video output between this LCD and a CRT to measure the input lag which I personally can notice in any applicaiton, not just games. The average time off was measured at ~60 ms using a digital camera pointed at both monitors. Further testing with dual CRTs showed that the CRT models updated the screen much quicker.
If you play games or are otherwise a fast mouse, please choose another product or at least, demo this one before buying.

best monitor i've ever purchased
Pros: -excellent picture quality -component and composite inputs -fairly decent integrated speakers which add almost no size to the monitor -adjustable height -PIP with ability to pick sound source (so tv can be the litle window and i can still hear it) -adjustable orientation (can clock 90 degrees)
Cons: -no integrated usb hub -fairly pricy
Other Thoughts: this was my first flat panel monitor and i've been using it for around seven months. the image quality is ridiculously good. unlike some other reviewers, i haven't noticed any sort of appreciable display lag and i'm usually super sensitive about annoying stuff like that. by far, this has been the best monitor i've ever purchased and i'm waiting for these things to get put on clearance so i can buy myself another one and pick a few up for work (i'm in charge of purchasing and equipment implementation at a machine shop).

Fantastic Monitor
Pros: Gorgeous picture straight out of the box with a DVI connection. The text is super crisp, the colors are amazing. I came from a high-end 19 inch CRT monitor and this one beats the quality by far. I love the widescreen! Maybe I'm different but I didn't feel like I had to adjust any of the settings except the red color, I toned that down just a bit. This monitor is gorgeous!!! I am expecting a second monitor today.
Cons: None. This is my best monitor ever!
Other Thoughts: I do web design and programming, as well as graphic design, digital art, photo editing and much more. This monitor suits all my needs and then some. It's great for programs like Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, Painter where you have dockable palets. I'm thinking of getting the wide screen Wacom Intuos3 6X11 graphic tablet with this monitor.

input lag
Pros: good picture, adjustable height
Cons: display lag, a little bright
Other Thoughts: compared with my Viewsonic 930, this display is definitely somewhat sluggish. I notice it most with the mouse cursor. On the Viewsonic the cursor movement is instantaneous, but the Samsung shows a slight but noticeable delay. It doesn't seem to be a big deal during gaming, but it bothers me that the response is not as fast as it should be. I'll probably have to return it.

Regarding input lag associated with this model
Pros: Great picture, went from 17 inch flat crt to this, and the difference is huge, as other ppl. superior quality picture, and the pivoting works great.
Cons: INPUT LAG(as titled by forum users). This is due to the fact that this monitor panel is a-si TFT/PVA LCD. This panel provides awsome picture quatlity but because it has to do more "work" to produce better quality picture, it comes with a lag in displaying the pictures. BUT samsung added a technology called "MagicSpeed"(same as overdrive) which "SHOULD" compansate for the lag by speeding it up, but apparently it's not doing it's job.
Other Thoughts: I have talked to couple samsung customer service rep, in which one was tier 2 lvl service rep. He was very helpful in trying to go about figuring out the fix for this.
I have filed an issue regarding this monitor, stating that there is an input lag and that it displays pictures split seconds later then the sound.
He told me that he will turn this issue over to product research department, where they will try to figure out what the problem is, but the problem is, samsung has no idea that this problem exists with this particular model. Apparently nobody called it in (or gave them totally wrong information). Due to the fact that not enough people called it in, it might get pushed aside. So if you have purchased this monitor and you have this problem, do call in, and let them know of this issue. Maybe they'll come up with a fix for it.

Response to offended user's post
Pros: I cannot vouch for Samsung's Tech Support. My problems were appearing straight out of the box and when I called, I talked to customer support and told them my brand new monitor was all jacked up. They said ok what's wrong? I told them about the box being practically destroyed and the display problems and said I wanted another new one. They said ok and it was smooth sailing. I can imagine the tech support being a little more difficult as I used to work in tech support for Dell and as stupid as some of the customers are, there are plenty of nitwits answering the phones also (and it only gets worse when you start out-sourcing to third world countries).
Cons: Newegg should sell more video games and gaming system accessories. Newegg is still the best though!
Other Thoughts: As for the credit card hold - it is a problem when you are using a debit card. The full hold must be available in funds in your account and those funds are unavailable until the hold is removed. My credit card only has $2000 limit, but I try not to keep a balance on it so the hold did not affect me. Best of luck in your computing experiences!

Perfect for me
Pros: I play games but I also do a lot of digital painting so I wanted something that could perform well while having great colour. This was my first lcd so I was kind of nervous, upgraded from a cheap crt. I get zero ghosting while playing hl2, wow, or wc3. The colour is great too, works really well with a calibration system. No screen door effect, and text looks sharp. The portrati rotation is fantastic too.
Cons: If you're messing around with settings like rez, and the rotation then you may need to refresh your display but it's no biggie. Also I noticed low rez videos were handled better on the crt then on this. But it wasn't too bad.
Other Thoughts: I spent 2 months researching the perfect lcd, I"m very demanding with my tools and I've been please completely with this. Fair price for the amazing flexibility this gives. And I plan on getting a console to attach to it. We'll see how that goes.

Top Notch
Pros: The color saturation on this lcd is amazing with the 1000:1 contrast ratio you get amazing picture Quality best i have seen on any LCD. Movies are so clear and the colors are right on, games look great no lag or anything like that. not one dead pixel.
Cons: LCD stand could be better
Other Thoughts: I replaced my Samsung 191T with this 215 TW and I have no regrets the 215TW is much better as far as color.

Follow-up review from my previous post.
Pros: I still like the monitor ... so far it still works well, except for the now and then original issue stated in my first post here ... ... and NewEGG is still the place to buy all your electronic toys :) even though I got this from another online retailer at that time... I did get a Western Digital Hard Drive from NewEGG, without any problems... thanks NEWEGG! ... they even deducted $x from the price because it came down by $x one day after I made the order, and they matched the new price for me... a great way to treat their customers. :) .. Samsung could learn from them.
Cons: Samsung Level-2 TECH support was my problem at that time.... maybe they've changed their tune since then, when JARblue, called for service.
Other Thoughts: Another reviewer here stated they don't charge your Credit Card unless you don't send the monitor back... true, but the "HOLD" on your card stops you from using that amount they "charge" (HOLD) against it.... until they receive it back, and I just have a Debit Card. (check card)
... maybe the Level-2 TECHs were "spoken to" by the Samsung CORPORATE Execs, and the way they treated me is no longer going on, but THEY were nasty to me and deleted my e-mails THEY asked me to send to them, and played with me in an unprofessional manner....
I guess my other reviews on several review sites may have opened their eyes.
Good to hear things may be settled with them, I hope.

Samsung Support = Good, not lame
Pros: This is an excellent monitor. PERIOD! Anyone who experiences ghosting or input lag needs to look at other components - NOT the monitor. I plugged this bad boy into my primary computer and it performed fantastically. I then put it on an old Win98 machine I keep around for old non-32bit apps and games I still occasionally enjoy. Guess what? The S-Video and Component inputs both lagged in games when I switched from the computer display to the different inputs (I used the same PS2 with different A/V cables that I know work perfectly). Unplug the VGA connector from the computer and VIOLA! Problem solved.
Cons: This unit was defective upon arrival along with the Olevia LT32HVE that I purchased at the same time (I bought this monitor from another retailer but both arrived the same day). It must have been the damm UPS driver because both boxes were ridiculously damaged and I ended up sending both products back to their respective manufacturer. I now wish I had bought both products from Newegg.
Other Thoughts: I had great success with both Samsung and Olevia support (see my review of the LT32HVE for more info). Samsung support was great and you people that don't understand the advance product replacement process listen up - this requires a credit card that is capable of the full MSRP of the monitor being charged to it (this is in case you're stupid and don't send the defective unit back). NO CHARGE IS EVER MADE TO YOUR CARD IF YOU SEND THE DEFECTIVE ONE BACK IN THE REQUIRED TIME (usually about 2 weeks). They call this a HOLD - nothing is ever charged and people need to understand this. You can have a hold on your credit card indefinately and it will never show up as a bill to be paid (I had both the Samsung and Olevia holds on my card at the same time-it was over 1500 dollars and I had no problem). They e-mailed me a form to fill out and I faxed it back and they shipped me a new unit and e-mailed me a pre-paid UPS label for me to ship the defective unit back to them. IT WAS PAIN-FREE!

Amazing screen even for the price
Pros: Great real-world contrast and brightness, good selection of inputs, great name brand
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I purchased a relabeled version of this through a nationwide electronics retailer, it's a Samsung panel but not in a Samsung packaging, it's made by Gateway. Their FP2185W is the same panel, in different packaging. The version I have has four USB ports, but besides that it retains all the inputs. I use a component A/V switch to have my Playstation 2, Gamecube, and Xbox 360 all attached, and they all look absolutely amazing on this monitor through component input. PS2 and Gamecube run at 480p, while X360 runs 720p - astounding quality. The games are incredibly immersive on this large of a screen, and my friends and I can even play multiplayer and be able to see everything very clearly - especially in some of my Gamecube games.
I personally would VERY highly recommend this monitor to anyone who's looking for a good size screen, is interested in using it to play console games on, and isn't afraid to pay a few more dollars for a superior product. A solid five stars.

Quite pleased
Pros: Very sharp text, great colors, no ghosting in games, width is just wonderful. Great contrast and brightness (had to turn it down to about 20% to make it usable). Very energy efficient -- about 30 watts during use, about 1 watt while sleeping. No dead pixels.
Cons: None signficant so far. On almost pure white screens it is slightly brighter in the middle.
Other Thoughts: I'm a bit worried about the comments from others about colored lines appearing in the displays after a month or two, especially in units made in Mexico in April -- which is what I have. I'm about 2 weeks into it now and I'm absolutely delighted with the monitor. It blows away my old (very nice) Nanao FlexScan 17" tube monitor in clarity and precision. Interestingly, this 21" widescreen is more expensive than not only the 20" widescreen but also the 22" widescreen -- but the magazine and user reviews are somewhat better for this model for some reason.

Best in its class
Pros: Image quality outperforms all rivals in its class. Inputs are a nice bonus feature for those who need them, though most people will not. Have now seen 3 units, zero dead pixels on any of them.
Cons: It may be best in class, but you pay for it. No USB ports, speakers not high quality. If you just need something to display your spreadsheet, this may not be worth your money. Gamers and imagery buffs should consider buying it even with these drawbacks.
Other Thoughts: I work for a computer enthusiast website, and bought this after we reviewed it. There is just no better monitor 24" or less.

Very pleased
Pros: 1000:1 contrast ratio was instantly apparent, Samsung is not lying on the numbers here. Response time keeps me happy, even in UT2004. Took some pics of the screen at 1/400 shutter speed while twirling around in a game, and it was very impressive, very little ghosting.
Cons: When the screen is completely black and there are no other light sources in the room, I can see a faint "X" pattern, but only in the four corners, I cannot see it in the middle. I have yet to notice this on anything but loading screens, when the screen is all black.
Other Thoughts: If you can get it for a decent price, the screen size is well worth it, along with all the inputs. Hooked up my friends 360, and it was also beautiful.

Good product:
Pros: Looks good, no dead pixels, good overall product.
Cons: Connections in bad place.Should have been in the side and not the bottom.
Other Thoughts: Overall a good purchase. Is as good as I have seen in wide screen monitors. Takes a little getting used to, but is worth it.

Great Monitor
Pros: See the Specs...they're awesome!
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: This is a great all around monitor if you're looking at 21". I haven't experienced any input lag playing COD2 and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit with a 7900GT GPU and a PC optimized for gaming. My eyes don't experience as much strain as they did on my 19" LCD also with an 8ms response time. If you can afford it I highly recommend it.

Pros: Big and Stylish. Widescreen is nice. Alternative video inputs.
Cons: Although it has component inputs don't expect the greatest picture through them. Since this monitor has a 16:10 ratio nothing you put in will look as good as it should since LCDs only look great at default resolution.
Other Thoughts: For those that talk of input lag:
It is not the monitor! It's your system. Your video card is probably too weak to handle the high resolutions. My 7600gt handles most games well, but at such a high resolution even it will run into problems with certain games. Blame your computer system before you blame the monitor. It's either your hardware or software/drivers.

A wonderful monitor for anyone who doesn't play games
Pros: Stunningly bright, sharp display with excellent color quality. A full complement of A/V inputs to connect to game consoles, dvd players etc.
Cons: There is a slight lag between input and response which makes accurate mouse movement difficult. It has nothing to do with refresh rate; the screen displays movements without ghosting, but a few milliseconds late. It's a subtle effect that makes normal point-and-click tasks feel sloppy, but in fast-paced games, the problem is magnified. For anyone who plays shooters or RTS, it's a deal breaker.
Other Thoughts: It's too bad about the input lag, because the picture quality is truly amazing. I bought this monitor so that I could use the same screen for my PS2 and my PC and save some space; if you're in a similar situation, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a monitor for photo editing or watching movies, you'd be hard pressed to find a better one.

Stunning
Pros: Viewing Area, and quality. Syncmaster is definately the most stunning and clear monitor on the market. Everything is crystal clear!
Cons: A bit pricey, but of course you get what you pay for!
Other Thoughts: Will never go back to viewsonic.

Fully Satisfied
Pros: I bought this monitor slightly over a month ago to replace my malfunctioning Viewsonic 19" CRT, and I've found myself completely satisfied with the purchase. This monitor may be more expensive than some of its alternatives but you undoubtedly get what you pay for. Some of the highlights are HDCP for forward-compatibility, composite and component video in, and PIP support. The video inputs are very useful for watching TV or playing video games...in a way it functions as a mini-HDTV. PIP is great for when I'm using my computer and want to watch tv in the meantime, without buying a tuner card. Gamecube and Xbox360 look excellent with the component in - video inputs are very high quality. Lower resolutions don't actually look that bad on this monitor, and stretching images to fit actually makes things more immersive...it doesn't seem distorted. VGA and DVI inputs both look good on this monitor and at the native resolution everything is perfectly crisp, bright, and colorful.
Cons: There is some slightly noticeable backlight bleed on a full black screen and there is also some dot crawl on certain dark videos combined with a slightly lower contrast...but isn't really noticeable unless you look for it. The viewing angle also reduces the contrast slightly, although color remains the same and it is still easily viewable at nearly 180.
Other Thoughts: This being my first LCD, I was expecting to have to compromise on some aspects going from a CRT to a LCD but this is actually a huge step forward. DVI is great compared to having to adjust a VGA signal..calibration isn't even necessary. Contrary to some other reviews here, ghosting has been a non-issue for me. That is, I haven't noticed any. I play a lot of video games and have tried it using UT2004, and they all seemed as normal as any regular television. I do a lot of programming and this monitor has helped to reduce eyestrain - its very ergonomic. Adjustability is fine; feels pretty sturdy. Also, the speakers, which some dislike, have proved very useful for me. My surround system sounds better, sure, but when I'm trying to save space on my desk they're perfect...and the headphone jack is useful as well. Compared to my CRT, this lighter, smaller, 215tw is everything I wanted, without compromise. Except maybe price :P

Nice screen
Pros: Excellent color and contrast. Height adjustment and swivel. Excellent variety of inputs.
Cons: Color can shift slightly when viewing off center. Same resolution as a 20" widescreen.
Other Thoughts: While priced higher than most of the 20" widescreens, the image quality and input options make this one a winner.

A Learning Experience, Not for Gamers.
Pros: Good picture, bright contrast, fairly cheap for what you get. S-PVA panel is perfect for photo editors, but not so great for Gamers. Newegg's excellent RMA process is going to make returning this easier than I expected.
Cons: Where to begin? My main gripe about this monitor is the very obvious INPUT LAG. By input lag, I don't mean response time, I mean the physical time it takes for the monitor to catch up with keyboard strokes/mouse input.Twitch-FPS games are nearly impossible to play well on this monitor, due to the input lag. I couldn't click anything on my desktop accurately too, very discouraging. I attribute this to the panel technology itself, S-PVA, rather than the company and monitor.
Other Thoughts: After doing research for days before buying it, and reading conflicting reports, ALL of these monitors exhibit a problem where the left half of the screen is slightly brighter than the right side. This can be very annoying in darker games and scenes. The response time isn't as "8ms-y" as I had expected, if that makes any sense. Once again, I attribute this to the panel technology itself and not the monitor. Noticeable ghosting in Call of Cthulhu:DCoTE and Counter-Strike Source, probably due to the S-PVA panel once again. I will be ordering the NEC 20.1" GWX2 instead.

excellent multimedia display
Pros: awesome 21" display, great for multi-tasking.. i plug my Super Nintendo into the side and play old school games on this monitor and they look great, all around great monitor def a recommended buy
Cons: first one arrived with 1 dead pixel, but newegg was awesome and exchnaged the monitor for a brand new one, which is flawless.. built in monitor speaker isn't great but who uses that as their primary speaker setup anyways?
Other Thoughts: I read a number of reviews complaining that this monitor displays vertical/horizontal lines after a certain number of hours of usage, but this has not happened to me, and I have had this monitor about 3 months.

Great for me...
Pros: Bright screen, sharp text and images.
Cons: None to speak of yet!
Other Thoughts: Great monitor for me. It works well with both Windows XP Pro x64 and the Windows Vista x64 beta.
The main reason I bought this monitor, even though it was a bit more than I orginally intended to spend (isn't that always the way?), were the generally excellent user reviews, and Samsung's good reputation for service. Being visually impaired, the wide screen really helps in reading web pages and reading ebooks. It's excellent contrast makes viewing images quite bright and colorful.
The shipping was excellent, the box arrived in very good shape, and from what I can see, there were absolutely no dead pixels.

Dead pixels issue for monitors manufactured in Mexico!
Pros: Beautiful colors in DVI mode. Lovely wide screen.
Cons: After reading other people's complaints about dead pixel line across the screen, I thought it would never happen to me! I was wrong... 88 days later... Vertical blue line in R. H. of the monitor. Newegg.com will not replace it. Contacted Samsung, and still waiting for a new monitor.
Other Thoughts: Samsung will replace warranty monitor with a brand new model if the date of purchase is less than 90 days, otherwise it will be a refurbished model.

now this is nice
Pros: size, ease of use, ability to go 90 degrees. clarity of picture.
Cons: Tried to use Samsungs program to go 90degrees and it wouldnt work. So, uninstalled it. Now just use the Nvidia control panel and have had no problems since.
Other Thoughts: Speakers arent needed.

Great Monitor
Pros: I maybe lucky compared to others out there with this monitor. My monitor has no dead pixels and no backlight issues. The refresh rate is as fast as my old 19in crt syncmaster 955df. beautiful screen and very bright and clear. Has a full spectrum of 16.7 million colors.
Cons: Speakers are useless, which would have saved some money if they didn't include it in.
Other Thoughts: I say that I am lucky because my LCD was also made in Mexico. There seems to be alot of issues with the ones made in Mexico April 2006. Mine was made in May 2006. I don't know if they fixed the banding and backlight problems a month later. But as i said before, this monitor is perfect as I can see from a technical diag testing.

Great monitor
Pros: High resolution, nice big screen, lots of inputs and supports progressive scan. I use this as a second monitor for my laptop and I use the component inputs to connect it to my PlayStation 2. No dead pixels yet either.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: I have not had the product for very long and have not run into any of the problems mentioned in other reviews.

Samsung Level 2 support is POOR
Pros: Great picture, contrast & color, no dead pixels (for me anyway) & all the inputs for other video sources. Picture-in-picture is nice too.
Nice stand for rotating the monitor & adjusting height.
Cons: Very small speakers (really a joke, they could have left them off and saved us some cash)
Their Level 2 Customer support plays games with your eMail. I no longer trust Samsung support anymore.
They only have two options for replacement, TEMP charge to credit card $1000.00 (list price is just $550.00) and pickup at UPS store exchange without testing & looking over replacement first.
Level 2 Customer Support needs to be retrained to speak to people giving more respect to us, and not play games with eMail attachments, and marking as SPAM for their fun.
Third Level 2 Tech was nasty to me when I asked why first two deleted my eMail before reading it, and marked me as SPAM.
Samsung needs to have a serious talk with these "TECHS".
Other Thoughts: My monitor worked very well but I noticed one bootup screen, in Digital mode, (BootMagic) giving me problems with VERY overly stretched image, sometimes during bootup, not all the time, (left 1 inch of pix stretched across entire picture) so I called customer support to see if it's a potential problem, also asked if, in Analog mode, picture doesn't center well is a problem too. They transfered me to Level 2 TECH help, where I eMail attached pix's of the screen, and he said he'd never seen prob like that before and asked me to get more info and call back... so I did, but second tech said the pix's weren't in my file, and he needed my scan of Sales Receipt to verify Proof of Purchase for NEW not referb repl. His eMail Return Receipt to me showed he deleted my eMail before reading it, then marked my eMail address as SPAM. After complaining to corp service, he called back ready to replace, I don't trust them anymore, didn't say if replacement would be inspected first for no pix defects

Cant beat it....
Pros: Everything. Looks great, performs even better, fast response, and its Widescreen..!
Cons: Speakers arent worth using, very light backlight bleeding.
Other Thoughts: All in all, one great LCD. Almost seems to be designed with the gamer in mind. I went from a 21" CRT (was a Monster) to this. I was not expecting to get anywhere close to the quality of my CRT, but this moniter comes very close. The only bad thing is after about 2 months it developed 1 dead pixel. In all honesty, I can barely notice it but other than that its probally the best LCD monitor for the money.

fantastic for photo editing
Pros: this is a great monitor for photo editing. it has an excellent lcd panel. calibrates very nicely. perfect size for photoshop. color and contrast are up to par with high end units for a fraction of the price.
Cons: having problems running the samsung rotation software in 64-bit windows.
Other Thoughts: usb ports would have been nice. otherwise no complaints.

Great!
Pros: Monitor works very well, I have had it a little over a week and couldn't be happier. No dead pixels, crystal clear text. No noticeable ghosting in games. It comes with a DVI cable which should save you a little bit of money. Huge display is great! I love it.
Cons: The monitor doesn't go up and down as nicely as a few other monitors I have played with before I bought this. There is also no USB hub, which while I didn't need it, it would have been a nice bonus feature.
Other Thoughts: As much as I despise the idea of HDCP, I will eventually be forced to use it and this monitor supports it. I also think the monitor could go up and down a tad bit more.

Worst item purchased from Newegg
Pros: Good display, sharp images, easy control..
Cons: Just after 2 hours of usage, 3 vertical lines (red, brown, yellow) appeared on the monitor. Newegg DOES NOT exchange or refund for this item!! You have to call Samsung yourself to get it fixed. I had to wait 5 weeks until I received my repaired unit back. And I'm still holding my breath waiting for the next vertical line to pop up.
Other Thoughts: Before I made my purchase I did read reviews from buyers with same problem. I should have listened and avoid this item at all cost, however, I've never had any problem with any Newegg merchandise before so I just took the gamble. The LCD was made in Mexico, so to all other buyers, BE SURE TO AVOID SAMSUNG PRODUCTS THAT WERE MADE THERE!! They sure need some improvement in their quality control department.

Great Monitor
Pros: Lots of inputs, good backlighting, no dead pixels, decent resolution, good brightness, and high contrast
Cons: no cable management system, the stand is a little clunky
Other Thoughts: this is a great monitor, everything worked great right out of the box, which is a pleasent surprise based on some other monitors i've delt with. the only thing it has going against it in my book is the lack of a cable management system

Great monitor
Pros: It works well both on the computer and hooking up stuff like gaming consoles. I've never had any problems in the 3 months I've owned this product, including dead pixels or ghosting from movies/tv or video games.
Cons: Not really a con, but I wonder why they have PIP feature.
Other Thoughts: Really really big! I actually tried a sceptre (Naga 3) for a couple of months and was sooo annoyed with the quality of the monitor. I ended up having to return it. This monitor was a godsend. It was pricey when I first purchased it (there were only 3 retailers selling this product at the time), but I've been very happy with this monitor.

nice
Pros: Decent settings control. Smooth DVD playback. Very nice contrast. Colors are almost perfect.
Cons: BackLight bleeding from corners about 1-3 inches depends on settings.
Ghosting in games, It may be very good for a LCD but coming from a CRT it is definitly noticable.
Dead pixels, I counted 3 and havent noticed any others.. Very minor.
Other Thoughts: I bought this monitor I was pretty worried as I hadnt heard much about it before. Figuring Samsung makes some of the best I decided to take a chance.
Needles to say I was not Disapointed. It was well worth the money.

Good To Go!
Pros: HDCP
HD Ready
Picture In Picture
Cons: Speakers aren't great.
Pricey
Other Thoughts: I'm using this as my primary display on my desktop, it certainly gets the job done. The A/V inputs on the side make it super easy to play some FIFA 2006 on my Gamecube while waiting for a DVD to burn.
It lQQks amazing when connected to a Xbox 360 with the 1080i connection.

Great, but ...
Pros: Great specs and great display. But ...
Cons: This is my second 215TW. The first developed a vertical red line about 3" from the right edge on the 4th day of use. It was made in Mexico. Promptly got an RMA from Newegg and received replacement promptly. It has been fine until today -- just noticed a vertical red line very near the right edge. This one also was made in Mexico. Since I've had this one 5 weeks I'm not sure I can return it to Newegg (haven't checked yet), and frankly I'm not sure I want another one anyway (and return shipping costs get expensive after a while).
Other Thoughts: This has the potential of being a great monitor but until they can get their quality control working, avoid it.

Gamer's Paradise!!!
Pros: Beautiful Panoramic Quality in Games!!!
Built-in speakers.
8ms Response! (NO MORE GHOSTING!)
1000:1 Contrast Ratio. (Huge color different in Games. Especially with lighting effects...such as Solar Rays)
PIP! (Who woulda thought!?)
Massive set of video input compatibility.
Feels and looks just like a Plasma TV to be honest.
Cons: None whatsoever. (price may be high, but it's worth saving for. Sell your older parts for starters.)
Other Thoughts: HDR takes full advantage of this monitor when connected using DVI. I previously owned a 19" Samsung LCD, which had a much higher Response Time (ghosty in games) and this baby has totally OWNED THAT 19" GHOSTER! I knew the 21" would look and perform a lot better than my older model, but WOW! This thing is GODLY.
As the old saying goes for adulthood...once you go 21, there's no going back!

amazing
Pros: Big, beautiful screen. Sharp detail. Stylish. The buttons on the screen
Cons: Either the DVI port is dead, or the cable that came with my screen is bad, but I hooked it up and no signal was found. Hooked up the VGA cable and works fine and still looks sharp, haven't gotten around to getting a new DVI cable to see what the problem was. I know it's not my graphics card. Either way, I don't see this as a huge negative because I don't exactly know if it's only the cable, and the problem is easily solved, but I'm fine with VGA, still looks great.
Other Thoughts: People are claiming they're having problems with red/yellow/teal lines appearing on screen and it seems to be common with Samsung's made in Mexico. After years of searching, I decided to finally get rid of my CRT and go with this. I received it a day early (Thanks NewEgg!), looked on the side and said "Manufactured in Mexico", I was slightly worried. I plugged it in, and saw colors stand out that I've never noticed before. I've had no problems whatsoever with my widescreen, going on two weeks. I registered online with Sansung and they extended the warrenty another month for no reason (not that I'm complaining). I'm not an avid FPS gamer, so I didn't notice any lag , even though I tried it on FEAR, I still shot well. I love how you can rotate the screen, so when you're working on a word document or checking out the internet, scrolling up and down is not needed. Believe me, get this monitor, I'm incredibly happy with it.

AWSOME
Pros: Very bright display w/above average response time... the colors are amazing and images are crisp and clear. Opens a lot of space off of your desk to make room for other things. Actually makes me look like I am organized. No dead pixels was a plus.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: After owning a 17"CRT that weighed a ton andtook up half of my desk it was time to upgrade... I was really worried about this purchase. When looking at reviews, there was an issue of a "red line" appearing accross the screen after few hours or use. I've kept the monitor on for more han 5 hrs to make sure that this is not an issue and I am pleased the display works perfectly. (Even for beng made in Mexico)

Best 21" monitor out ther for the $$
Pros: Great monitor, very good color and great black for an LCD. Very very low banding and very little ghosting. Great unit better than other 20-21" LCD's I have had. Many many input options and HDCP compliant.
Cons: Lousy speakers built in, I wish it had a USB hub.
Other Thoughts: Best monitor for the money in this size class.

Kudos to Samsung
Pros: Outstanding monitor size. I enjoy using this for desktop, watching dvd's and playing PS2 games to include the XBOX 360. It has all the inputs that I needed and no other monitor came close to this. The monitor can also swivel at a different angle for viewing scenery shots. It comes with a three year warranty. Should you decide to get the extended warranty, read the warranty card it came with. Ask to see the manufactures warranty- 3 years.
Cons: Only drawback for this monitor is it was made in TJ, Mexico. Would be nice to have HDMI inputs and USB ports. Could also have a card reader built into it but it will be more costlier. Most desktop models have card reader so I guess you can rule out for this particular model. Will continue to use this monitor because it has a history of not working properly.
Other Thoughts: I'm thinking of getting a second one but I'll wait off till the price settles down. Don't need to purchase extended warranty. It only drives the price up into the ceiling. Just make sure you fill and submit your warranty registration thru the mail and online. Keep your eyes peeled on rebates for this particular model. I'll get that second identicle monitor when the rebates shows up for this model.

Perfect
Pros: This is the perfect gaming monitor if you want one size up from a 19 incher. I have no problems with it. It is far better than I could have expected and much much brigher than I thought it would be.
Cons: I found that when you rotate it verticaly, there isnt quite enough room to clear the bottom of the stand so you may scratch it the first time like I did. Other than that, NONE!!
Other Thoughts: Handy as an extra TV too for game consoles and is nice for the 360 too as it has HD inputs.

Nice features, but TERRIBLE quality control.
Pros: excellent features (wide-screen 1680x1050 resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 8ms response rate, headphone jack) nice picture and text quality, the pip feature is nice.
Cons: Serious quality control issues. I'm on my 2nd monitor now. The first one was fine for about 3 weeks, then all of a sudden, a 2 inch blue vertical line appeared at the bottom of my screen. I checked all my settings (tried different resolutions and refresh rates), switched cables and even tried another monitor, but the problem was definitely with the Samsung. I just got my replacement monitor and the first time I turned it on, there's now a vertical yellow line all the way from the top to the bottom in the middle of the screen. Both of mine were manufactured in Mexico in April of 2006. Now I'm waiting for my 3rd monitor and am crossing my fingers. So buyer beware!
Other than those annoying vertical lines, the speaker attached to this monitor isn't very good. If you want to use your monitor extensively for listening to music or watching movies/tv, I suggest you invest in some good quality external speakers (or just use your headphones).
Other Thoughts: Since this is a relatively new monitor, I'm guessing there's some growing pains with the manufacturing process. Since this monitor is temptingly feature-rich, I suggest potential buyers to at least wait for Samsung to fix their quality issues before picking one up (and don't buy any made in Mexico in April, 2006!).

Big & bright
Pros: Looks great. Plenty bright with excellent contrast. I love the way my games look on this one.
Cons: Comes with built-in speaker that has poor sound quality. Occasional problems coming out of sleep mode.
Other Thoughts: For a monitor this nice I'd rather go without the speaker

WOW
Pros: Bright, Sharp and Big!!!!
Cons: n/a but I have only hade it for a day.
Other Thoughts: This LCD is huge. I like the way I can work on my Samsung 19 inch CRT and have the LCD as my main monitor and do texture work on my CRT and model in Maya making models and game levels on the LCD. It is like being at work at Lucas Arts but being a home. I play a lot of games and this LCD is great for gameing.

A Great Choice
Pros: Outstanding picture; brighter than you'll ever need; tons of little extra touches.
Cons: Little add-ons like hubs and card readers would be welcome, but I'm not complaining.
Other Thoughts: The stand is great. You can rotate 90 degrees which is impressive. The spin of the monitor goes about 330 degrees from one extreme to the other. Also, this spin is done through a set of plates in the stand, so it turns like a dream! You also get to move the monitor to a decent height and down almost to the desk. There's no cable management, but that's not a hugh deal anyhow.
The speakers aren't great, but they're ok if you just need to hear *beep* now and then. Plus you have a headphone jack, so you're all set. Oh, and there are dedicated volume buttons.
The picture is superb. I'm not a graphics professional, but I know that no one less discriminating than the pickiest photographer would put this one down. And there's no ghosting to worry about unless you're really nuts about it (8ms isn't enough for some people I guess).

A Great Choice
Pros: Outstanding picture; brighter than you'll ever need; tons of little extra touches.
Cons: Little add-ons like hubs and card readers would be welcome, but I'm not complaining.
Other Thoughts: The stand allows the monitor to go down almost to the desk. When it's all the way up, you can rotate the monitor, which is perfect for coding or impressing the ladies. The spin method is really slick. Instead of spinning on the stick part of the stand, the base of the stand spins. It's two plates with a bunch of barrings. The effect is that it turns very smoothly and it'll turn about 330 degrees, measured from one extreme to the other.
The speakers are as tin-box as you'd expect, although after spending half an hour with them, I could see them being acceptable if you didn't have the space for real speakers or if you just want them for the occasional *beep* and *bonk*. As a plus though, you have the headphone jack right in the front which is nice. Again, if you're buying this monitor for these little quirks, I'd say you're nuts, but they are nice none the less. Also, there are dedicated volume buttons that double as menu navigation.
The interface is as you'd expect from a

Great for ONE week... Great Newegg service though
Pros: Looks great
Cons: Broken in just 1 week
Other Thoughts: I purchased this monitor from Newegg.com. It was shipped the same day via UPS 3-day ground. Awesome job, Newegg! I got it on time although UPS carrier knocked too lightly for my family to hear it. I waited in line for an hour to pick it up! (I cut out my emotional part, so that Newegg won't deny the post!) Anyway, I have the LCD monitor setup in no time. The picture is great until after 1 week! I got a very visible red line across the screen from top to bottom! Obviously, a refund or return is in order. First, I researched Newegg website for a refund RMA. But, it said this monitor is only warranty by Samsung. Me start worrying now! So, I contacted Newegg via the live chat function. The rep Alex was very helpful! He found out what happened and did some research. A minute later, I got the RMA#. No hassle. No question asked! Again, Newegg service is one of the best if not the best in online retail!

Great Monitor
Pros: Excellent specs, good price. I bought this monitor to replace a Samsung 191T that died (backlight) after 3 and a half years of use. It was a great monitor, but the 215TW will be even better I think. The 215 is very bright, crisp and clear. Two full Word pages side by side are quite readable.
Cons: On the 4th day of use the 215TW suddenly developed a vertical red line running top to bottom about 3" from right side of screen. I contacted Newegg and they promptly send me an RMA number. I returned it and hope to receive the new one within a week. Excellent service so far from Newegg.
Other Thoughts: I saw mention in reviews of other Samsung monitors about possible quality control problems with those manufactured in Mexico. For what it's worth, the one I returned was manufactured in Mexico.

best lcd monitor montor ever, BUY SAMSUNG!
Pros: Exellent sharpness and very crisp contrast, very vivid, plenty of multimedia inputs, absolutely no ghosting at 8ms, the price considering the size of the monitor and how quality it is
Cons: none at all except the is very very faint backlight bleeding but thats expected on all lcds, less faint than most lcds.
Other Thoughts: someone at my work had bought this monitor. i have never heard of it at first but then i did some research on it. i was sketch at first because i wanted to stay with viewsonic but i also samsung was quality. i decided to go with it, i got it home and i couldnt believe how amazing the picture was, jus on vga. by far the best lcd monitor today. better than the vxxxxonic 2025wm. get this monitor!
