Awesome Widescreen
Pros: Awesome Clarity, Color, Brightness, Sharpness, and look.
Cons: Does not have an adjustable base. Only tilt. But works well.
Other Thoughts: I would have bought another one, but one is plenty for now. :)

Great monitor!
Pros: This monitor was one of my best computer hardware purchases. The price is unbeatable and the monitor is AMAZING. No dead pixels, no issues whatsoever, nice sharp picture and it's HUGE. Like I've read in past reviews and heard from friends, "once you go widescreen, you'll never go back". I was concerned about how some games would run on it, but I was pleasantly surprised. This monitor has done nothing but please me. I use it on my PowerMac and love it.
Cons: No height adjustment but it doesn't really matter to me. It sits at a perfect height on my desk. No DVI but I knew that when I purchased it. I don't have any issue with having to use D-sub instead. I'll utilize the DVI port on my video card some day.

outstanding
Pros: Outstanding I think, it's bigger then I predicted, framrates on high speed FPS games are perfect no ghosting at all. Movies are clear and the widescreen is super.
Cons: High adjustment is no problem for me, has no DVI but no problems as far as the monitor goes, NO DEAD PIXELS!
Other Thoughts: I'd definately buy more of these when I get the chance I can't imagin having Dual monitors with them... BUY IT! NOW!

A thing of Beauty
Pros: Great resolution, wide screen format, bright sharp picture, no dead pixels
Cons: If your picky about it then DVI would be nice
Other Thoughts: For some reason the blue windows background is constantly flickering on my monitor. Im not sure if that has anything to do with the 60 Hz Refresh rate which is on the low side, but it could also be a hardware problem seeing no one else is experiencing the same problem

Absolutely gorgeous...
Pros: Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful...this wonderful LCD leaves my old 17" CRT in the dust-literally. Text, graphics, movies, and colors are very sharp and crystal clear. 1440 x 900 resolution not as bad as I thought it would be.
Cons: Are you kidding? Absolutely no cons!!
Other Thoughts: For less than $xxx, this was literally a steal! I am never going back to CRT again. My old 17" eye-frying CRT is now resting (rotting...) in the basement...for eternity. Thanks Acer & Newegg!! I command all to buy one now!!

Great buy
Pros: no dead pixels, nice and bright, no backlight bleed through, the wide aspect is great
Cons: None. This monitor doesn't have all the features, but I'm not listing them as cons because I knew this before I bought it.
Other Thoughts: Just like everyone says, this an excellent monitor. You can't beat it for the price. There's no reason to pay more. I was worried the Intel(R) 82945G graphics on my corporate computer wouldn't support 1440x900, but the option was available in the display settings as soon as I plugged the monitor in. It seems like any fairly modern card will support it, there is also a download available from the Acer site if your card doesn't support it automatically.

Very, Very Nice Monitor
Pros: 1) NO DEAD PIXELS 2) bright crisp picture 3) wide screen format 4) 3 year warranty 5)slightly finer dot pitch than most 5) one button setup 6) very good value for the money.
Cons: None that come to mind.
Other Thoughts: This is now the 3rd ACER product I've purchased and I've come to really like them.

Outstanding!!
Pros: I really like this resolution. Everything on this monitor is soooo sharp and vibrant! Games look so much better in widescreen mode and when they don't support them I just throw in that command in the shortcut to enable the widescreen resolution. It takes up soooo little space compared to my old 21inch CRT. Flawless no dead pixels.
Cons: No height adjustment, but doesn't matter for me as my seat adjusts along with my keyboard. No DVI, but not that big of a deal. This D-Sub looks just as good IMO.
Other Thoughts: Buy this! This is probably the best monitor in this size class for the price!

Sweet
Pros: Decent contrast ratio (some dark areas blend a tiny bit though), good brightness, good response time, perfect size (in my opinion)
Cons: As noted above, contrast could be a lil better, but there is another Acer model that you can get for a bit more with better contrast ratio and response time.
Other Thoughts: Upgraded from a 17" CRT. Image quality was a bit better on CRT, but colors are more vibrant on the LCD and widescreen is immersive. If it fits, buy it, now.

World Of Warcraft never looked this good!
Pros: Decided to give away my old 17 CRT and try a widescreen LCD. Saw the 200+ reviews on Newegg and decided to purchase, NO REGRETS!! Colors are beautiful and setup was automatic, no setting changes in WOW or in Windows XP. No dead pixels.. I didn't even need the drivers. My first purchase from Newegg, won't be my last. If they run the free shipping again, I willbuy a second one for my other system.
Cons: NONE
Other Thoughts: I don't think you can go wrong with this monitor unless you are very picky or have some sort of graphics job.

You won't regret
Pros: 1. Very bright screen 2. Decent Contrast Ratio 3. 19inch widescreen form factor 4. Can't beat this price 5. 1400x900 Resolution 6. No deal pixel 7. 3 year warranty 8. Fast shipping
Cons: Could've been nice if it had a DVI connector so that the monitor could've been utilized as dual system setting. (I can do that with KVM though)
Other Thoughts: Considering screen size(19'') and wide screen form factor with 1400x900res, no one can beat Acer AL1916W. Owned Samsung 17'' before, and I'm very satisfied with my transition.

NICE....
Pros: Can handle HD no problem, it's resolution is by far the best I've ever had for a monitor.
Cons: Only 2 resolutions that the monitor can handle without making it look stretched, at least with the video card I have.
Other Thoughts: I command you to buy one.

AWESOME!!!
Pros: The screen size is just awesome (waaay bigger than my 17 in CRT). No dead pixels. DVI output. Price. Less bulky than a CRT. Black color looks slick with my black area-51 logisys case.
Cons: The only thing I can think of is its lack of preset brightness settings. My old 17 in CRT had it, and I liked it a lot. I could just push the MagicBright button on it to switch brightness modes on the fly. However, you can always ajust the brightness on the fly using your video card's software.
Other Thoughts: This is the best deal that I've seen on a 19 in LCD with DVI. If you're a gamer, make sure you get a monitor with DVI output like this one! It looks soo nice! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? BUY IT NOW, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED! Acer rocks!

Don't Hesitate
Pros: If you're looking for a great widescreen 19", do it. I did a lot of research and this was the best deal. I now own it and I am not disapointed. Looks great on my desk.
Cons: No height adjustment... but the height it has is about right anyway.

Perfect.
Pros: Vivid colors, widescreen, great response time, the auto-adjust works great, no dead or stuck pixels. Nice OSD.
Cons: None!
Other Thoughts: A HUGE step up from my old 17" CRT. Now I've gone widescreen I'll never go back. Looks really nice on my desk and I have a ton more space. Couldn't have been easier to setup... plugged it in and hit the Auto button.

Cons: None so far at all.

::- Awesome LCD! -::
Pros: Very small and space saving, beutiful resolutions my CRT can never get, very bright for an LCD, only 8ms of lag time makes for good gaming, absolutely no ghosting in ANY DVD I have watched on it
Cons: Feels like I could break part of it or knock it over with even the slightest bit of accidiental force, lags a bit when turning in high demanding games such as CS:S, and of course there's always the chance you take with dead pixels (which luckily, I had 0)
Other Thoughts: One of my good friends actually bought this but I built his PC and when I was done he was gracious enough to let me mess around with the LCD and new setup for a while, so in turn I found that this is the one monitor to get if you are looking at cheap gaming widescreen!

Nice and big
Pros: Very bright and clear screen. Wide with lots of room for windows. Very easy to set up and adjust. Thin profile works well in a tight space.
Cons: No DVI input. Can't adjust the height, so eye level could be considered a little low. Some games aren't suited for a 1440x900 display.
Other Thoughts: I picked this monitor to upgrade from a 7-year-old 17" CRT that had issues with heat, brightness, and bulk, and the difference is like night and day. Great deal for the price I paid.

Absolutely amazing LCD for the price!
Pros: Great picture quality. Easy to setup. Extremely light weight and great for gaming. Beautiful 1440x900 resolution!
Cons: No DVI port
Other Thoughts: The BEST 19" WideScreen LCD for the money, DO NOT PASS THIS ONE UP! The pictures do not do justice, looks a lot better in real life!

Great LCD
Pros: Great widescreen LCD monitor; crisp and clear, no dead pixels. Great price (bought on a sale day)
Very quick shipping (as always)
Cons: None that I can tell so far. I could complain about lack of DVI, but for what an adaptor costs, it's not a big deal
Other Thoughts: The picture was distorted and poor quality at first, but this was due to my video settings. Make sure your card supports 1440x900... mine did, but to run it on dual-monitor, I needed to upgrade my video driver.

STUCK NEON GREEN PIXEL!!!!
Pros: Good compromize between large size and lower price-- I went with widescreen for the workspace real-estate (this will suppliment my 21" CRT), not movies or gaming.
Cons: The horiffic, impossible-not-to-notice BRIGHT NEON GREEN STUCK PIXEL in the bottom left third of the screen. I can deal with dead pixels, but not a full-brightness full-time neon distraction. I'm very upset about it--ruined the purchase.
Other Thoughts: It would have been nice if there were a way to stand this vertically.

Great Buy - Great Price
Pros: If your video card can support this monitor, you don't need to be looking for any other monitor. The colors are bright. The contrast is good and the text is sharp and very readable. You can't beat the 3 year warranty.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I bought a good 19" CRT 2 years ago for more $ than I paid for this monitor. It's a sweet deal.

Very nice for the price!
Pros: Sleek design! Nice for an Acer product! Crisp resolution, especially @ 1440X900! Well worth the money! No dead pixels! Already have an lcd monitor and I like this one better!
Cons: No DVI, stand is too short!
Other Thoughts: Overall this monitor is worth every penny - especially for wide screen! Price is virtually unbeatable! Newegg is awesome! And UPS managed to not lose/ruin my package!

Not Too Shabby...
Pros: The monitor out of the box was great. I hooked it up, turned on the computer, automatically did auto-sync by itself and bamm! NO DEAD PIXELS! Yay! This monitor is a huge difference from a 17" CRT flat screen which I was previously using. The wide screen is so SWEET! I can open up my Ableton Recording studio and no need to scroll the bottom because I have so much room for the effects view. And Quake 4, F.E.A.R, and BF2 wow. Awesome, no lag or ghosting, Very sweet. It is the Lick. Highly recommend this product!
Cons: No dvi hookup. Yeah but, for the price I really don't mind it. Most video cards come with a DVI to VGA adaptor so its alright.

Awesome
Pros: I got this monitor, and let me tell you, for the price there is nothing better on the market. Crisp, clean picture, at 1440x900 it looks outstanding. I play alot of games and was nervous about ghosting, but no, there is none to be spoken of.
Cons: Not height adjustable

Pros: Obviously the price!! But there are a bunch of others. My first widescreen and I love it. And the color! This thing is awesome for World of Warcraft. I'm upgrading from an older 17" LCD and the difference is simply incredible.
Cons: None!
Other Thoughts: A great buy for the money!!

Dead Pixels are annoying.
Pros: Low price. Good picture quality. Wide screen is nice.
Cons: It came with a Dead Pixel. It's about 4" up and 4" across from the bottom left corner. :(
No height adjustment. I have it propped up on some books for now.
Other Thoughts: If I was going to do it over I probably would wait for a 19" Samsung to go on sale.

WOW!!!
Pros: Amazing size, color, & brightness at 1440x900. Oh, and one more thing... THE PRICE!!! especially with free shipping!
Cons: No DVI but unless you are an EXTREME HARDCORE gamer youll never be able to tell. Terrible text and picture quality if you cant support 1440x900. I almost RMA'd this monitor until I FINALLY figured out how to get my onboard SiS video to support 1440x900. Have a GF 6200 on the way for some budget gaming :)
Other Thoughts: My first LCD and I am totally satisfied. Much better than a 17" CRT. Just make sure that if you dont have a good agp or pci-e card, your onboard video can support 1440x900. If it cant, you just have to update your motherboard BIOS and download the latest VGA driver from the SiS or VIA website(depending on your motherboards chipset).

Value
Pros: Very good brightness, color, and picture detail at a very reasonable price.
Cons: I suppose the image quality is not the best...but this monitor does cost around $xxx.
Other Thoughts: There certainly are better monitors, but the price of this model makes it a terrific value. Its affordability makes it a product I can recommend to anyone.

Acer Widescreen
Pros: Very Cheap. Very Good Monitor for the money. I ordered one about a month ago and liked it so much I got another one. I now have a dual head widescreen setup for less than what I paid for my 8ms SAMSUNG 6 months ago. It plays everything I have fine and i cant even notice a strain on my eyes at 60hz. Where as a crt would strain, this lcd doesnt for me anyway. It does not ghost lag or drop frames at all. Have it running on a dual boot machine, XP and VISTA both worked flawlessly.
Cons: I should have gotten my second one sooner.
Other Thoughts: Would have liked to have seen a dvi hookup but is not a downfall by any means.

Excellent Monitor for the price
Pros: The screen is very very nice quality, with good colors and brightness. Not to mention its huge compared to my last LCD a 17". Also the menu gives you nice control over the monitor and the buttons on it are nice, unlike some other monitors. Also Newegg has awesome shipping...and figures that it would now have free 3 day shipping.
Cons: The only problem I have with it is that it doesn't have a DVI port on it. If you are really looking to step up your display you really do need one. Also you should be able to find a similarly priced monitor that has a DVI port.
Other Thoughts: This is an awesome screen, but if you do some searching you could probably end up spending a few bucks more and getting a slightly better monitor that would be worth it.

Best Monitor out of my friends!!!!
Pros: *Very crisp *Ulllltrraa fast response *Good for gaming *Widescreen *Insane 1440x900 resolution *Cheap for the quality *really fast shipping got ina *day and a half *No dead pixels *BRIGHT! can see with windows open and full daylight
Cons: *Cheapish base *a little to bright sometimes (especially if you watch alot of movies) (the black bars on widescreen movies look not inky black just a dark dark gray)
Other Thoughts: Well I was looking to upgreade from my 15in 14 year old sony CRT. I was browsing newegg and found this. Bought one and got it in a day and a half. Better quality then all of my friends 19 inchers. Beat out LG 19'', and Acer" and also the Tyris 19" off newegg. Some of my friends after seeing mine went out and bought one. Some even returned their new monitors. Widescreen makes everything awsome

great- except SoG
Pros: I love this thing. It's huge and thin, has a little auto config button to detect the best placement etc etc etc. No dead pixels and the colors are still good.
Cons: Well, it would have been nice if it had a DVI port. It was all set up for it too, even has a menu for input source.
Other Thoughts: Xboxen. (this won't matter to 99% of you guys) it doesn't support SoG (sync on green). Why do I care? The easy-to-make version of xbox->VGA cable needs a SoG compliant monitor. Oh well, now i have to make a little decoder circut...

Acer
Pros: this monitor is the best out there. the price is the best, the picture is the best, the brand is the best, the features is the best, everything about it is fantastic. And for those wishing for DVI, just look in the back, there are DVI connector. You just have to buy a DVI cable from 'ol newegg.com. Really, there is no significant difference in picture quality.
Cons: none.

Cons: Cant really adjust the moniter stance to you liking, but its permant stance is perfect for me so I dont mind..

Getting used to it.
Pros: Nice wide screen, mine had no dead pixels and is very bright. Took less than a minute to get my box working with the right resolution. I think it's a terrific upgrade over my 3 year old 15 inch flat panel.
Cons: The resolution/screen size is a bit funky.
Other Thoughts: I am a NOT a gamer, so one would want to think about the screen dimensions before buying. For the money I feel like I got terrific value.

Good Stuff
Pros: This monitor is great. No dead pixels, nice colors, and for the price, there is no reason not to buy this monitor. The stand not having an height adjustment is a VERY minor issue (to me anyway). All it needs is a tilt adjustment, which it does have.
Cons: No DVI... but the price makes up for it. UPS kind of messed up on my shipping. They forgot it at a warehouse, delaying it for a day (not really a big deal). But that is not Newegg's or Acer's fault.
Other Thoughts: This is a great buy. Don't even think of hesitating to buy this.

Exceeded all my expectations
Pros: This is an incredible monitor at a great price. Despite doing all my homework, I still wasn't prepared for the surprise how BIG this thing is! No dead pixels, looks fabulous at the native resolution 1440x900. (It would be wise to download the latest drivers for your video card so you can run at the native resolution.) The stand is adequate. UPS ground was on time.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: At first I was skeptical about going widescreen. Now I would never go back. The extra space is so handy for managing multiple windows (like chat), and games look better. Can't wait to watch a DVD on this beauty. BUY IT!!

Wasn't as good as I thought
Pros: Great image quality, no glare, fast response time, awesome price, widescreen, free shipping at the time, not 1 dead pixel. Mountable. Easy to use onscreen menu.
Cons: 60hz at Max resolution. No DVI. No height or angle adjustments at ALL. If you are not sitting up properly the top of the screen will appear very dark (or if you have it mounted higher than you sit). Backlight bleeds a tiny bit on the bottom left, nothing too bad you can only notice it when the screen is black.
Other Thoughts: I've been wanting a widescreen for awhile and this certainly is great. For the price I paid I would of expected something far less in quality and size. After moving to CRT it takes a while to get use to the text and how it appears. I love how there is no wasted space around the edges like there are on CRT's. Although the max refresh is only 60hz its not that bad compared to how bad it hurts my eyes on a CRT. With the picture quality and no wasted space, this screen is too awesome to pass up. Also interesting to note the manual said there is an optional DVI port but doesnt seem like there is (they even had a picture).
To those of you who are hesitating on buying a widescreen, don't. So much more space on your desktop it's great. Nothing appears stretched or weird at all after you change the resolution.

WOW
Pros: I am flat out amazed by this monitor. I moved from a 17-inch CRT, and the difference is incredible. Wonderful resolution, huge size, and bright as all get out.
Cons: No DVI, but for the price, it is a sacrafice, worth making.
Other Thoughts: I could not ask for a better monitor. If you are thinking about switching from CRT, this monitor will make you an instant convert.

Great Deal! Good Monitor!
Pros: This is a great deal! I read tons of reviews about this monitor. Alot of the cons about view angles. Well, for those of you that might be worried about that. I don't have any trouble viewing this monitor. Everything is nice and sharp and bright. I watch hours and hours of video, all different kinds of formats. I don't have any problems. Everything looks great. I use Zoom Player for all my videos. You have tons of control over your picture. So, it doesn't matter what you try to watch, it will look great with Zoom Player, it has Aspect Ratio Control. I know Nvidia has a custom resolution option, where you can make a 1400x900 resolution for your video card. Very easy to do also. And the monitor looks best in it's native resolution 1400x900.
Cons: Yes, the screen is wider, but it's also shorter. So, if your watching a video in 4:3 Aspect Ratio. You have a smaller picture, then if you used a standard 19" monitor. So, keep that in mind. Might want to look at a larger widescreen. But if you want a widescreen, it's hard to beat the price for this.
Other Thoughts: The warranty on this monitor is pretty good. I have been buying Acer monitors for years. The first 2 years you get 48hour turn around if you have a problem with this monitor. They pay for shipping back and forth. The 3rd year, you pay the shipping, but you still get the 48hour turn around. Good to know they stand behind their product. Newegg got this monitor to me in 2 days, just like everything else I order from them. :)

Pros: No dead pixels, good contrast/brightness. Easy to use and install.

great lcd
Pros: Cheap, Works great, Widescreen. I had one stuck pixel, ran it with a color flash program that i made and after an hour it was perfect!
Cons: Well overall is a great LCD, maybe the fact that the lcd doesnt move up and down.
Other Thoughts: I have this right next to my 20in Apple lcd and its just great, it might not be as good but its so useful to have a 2nd monitor.

Amazing Moniter
Pros: No dead pixels or ghosting Amazing moniter for the price Gives of virtually no heat
Cons: No DVI Height isn't adjustable
Other Thoughts: I upgraded from a CRT to this moniter about three months ago and ever since I have nothing but postive results. The moniter was $xxx when I purchased which i thought was a steal and as I write this it is $xxx. There's no way that the deal could get any sweeter. Some may say it looks smaller, only because the vertical aspects are compromised because of the fact that it's widescreen but the way this moniter appears more than makes up for it. The other thing I noticed was the moniter wobbles if you hit the desk or have a subwoofer up. Other than that, this moniter is quite exceptional for the price.

Short and Sweet: Excellent LCD
Pros: I ordered 2 of these bad boys on Monday at 11 pm, they arrived Wednesday morning. This is my 1st LCD and I was scared sheetless of dead pixels and all those other terrible flaws that can come w/ LCD's, but I was beyond pleasantly suprised to see that both my these monitors are in perfect working order. Love the monitors, but got to love NewEgg even more! Great site, great product.
Cons: I guess a better stand could be better, but I'm not complaining.
Other Thoughts: For the price, this monitor is where it's at. It's huge, it's bright, it's cheap, and it's quality (except for the stand, but c'mon that's not biggie).

Amazing
Pros: 1. It's huge! 2. It's Bright. 3. It's wide.
Cons: Ok, so more physical adjustments would be nice, but I've had no problem with this.
Other Thoughts: If you're a long time normal-size screen user, and you are hesitant about making the move to widescreen, DON'T BE. A wide screen for a computer just makes more sense in terms of produtivity. As a recording engineer, I can now see ALL of the faders on the screen without having to scroll. As a student, I can have Word and the Internet open at the same time (Ok, Word and probably a movie). As a short guy, I can definately say... HEIGHT IS OVERATED! Definatly a satisfied customer. THANKS AGAIN NEWEGG!

Pros: Crisp, clear, and cheap.
Cons: 1 pixel at the very upper left corner stuck to white >.<
Other Thoughts: Acer for the win on this one.

Gaming Screen
Pros: No ghosting, not 1 dead pixel, bright, crisp, clear screen...plenty of room in photoshop, golive, etc. UPS arrived on time, newegg roxzzzz. I can see lots more when playing Americas Army...meaning better fragrate. I'm happy 8)
Cons: Now I gotta buy widescreen DVDs...stand is kinda bulky - at least for my cramped desktop. Kinda thought it would be a little taller, but it's plenty wide.
Other Thoughts: Get some b4 their gone.

Monitor the Price
Pros: Bought 2 of these. Excellent choice if you want a widescreen. USE the price alert feature!! You would be amazed at how unbelievable low the price on this can go. It is a bargain even at the highest Newegg price.

6 months later
Pros: owned this monitor for about 6 months now. it has functioned very well and is still holding up like a monster. i can agree that the stand was a bit flimsey, and it wobbled a little bit. i wall mounted mine, and it fixed the problem. i also like how thin it is compared to some other 19" widescreens. the price has dropped comsiderably since i got mine. im thinking of getting another. very affordible
Cons: stand wobbles
Other Thoughts: great overall monitor...very economical. acer is the best for affordible stiff that simply works

Pros: Huge, bright, crisp screen. Auto tool is perfect. Games look great.
Cons: Stand is a little flimsy.
Other Thoughts: This is my first time shopping with Newegg. I now know why everyone loves this site. Top notch customer service. I also recieved the monitor in under 2 days after I placed the order when I paid for 3 day shipping.

Awesome Real Estate
Pros: Huge screen! Ultra crisp and clear, and not ONE dead pixel!!! PnP makes it a snap.
Cons: With my Nvidia 6800 on my Dell XPS400 I had to download a program to manually change resolutions to the native 1400x900. Once done though, all is well.
Other Thoughts: This is one of the finest monitors I have owned. It is fast <8ms. 3D gaming is a blast, especially games that run at it's native resolution!
