Pros: I bought the business version of this printer (networking, paper tray). and my company loves it. I haven't had any problems with it. does the job that we need: Printing color documents and occasional picture.
Cons: it's bigger than a normal printer. if you don't put the tab up on the output tray, the paper SHOOTS out onto the floor.
Other Thoughts: Business version has network printing and an extra paper tray. No problems there either.

Rough Going
Pros: Fast & clear printing, when it works.
Cons: About 13 months after I hooked it up I started having the same problem as I posted in the "other thoughts" section, except this time nothing fixes it; except for opening and closing the ink cartridge door about 5x per page that it prints (every time it stops and wants the ink tanks to be changed).
Problems with brand new ink takes bought direct from HP.
I always avoided HP due to their shoddy products, and looks like I'll be going back to avoiding them.
Other Thoughts: When I first took this thing out of the box it wouldn't detect the ink cartridges. Claimed that they were all empty, even though they were brand new!
Contacted HP and they had me do about 10 different troubleshooting routines and clean the little electrical contacts (which already look immaculate) that the ink cartridges make contact with so the printer can determine ink levels and whatnot.

Piece of Junk
Pros: Printer looks great in theory. Inexpensive, high volume, compatible, etc.
Cons: Very first con I notices is no display. You have to use weird button sequences to use features. Next con I noticed was that every time I print, the driver takes my CPU captive for wayyy too long. Next con I noticed was that it seemed to burn through ink. When we changed the yellow cartridge, suddenly the print quality went to hell. Yellow and black bleed together (they share a print head). I wasted a lot of time troubleshooting it, because the HP tools are designed to sell you products, not solve your problems. I "cleaned" the heads a couple of times to no avail, then found a different way to do it, and it worked... sort of. Now the print quality is acceptable but not as good as new.
Other Thoughts: Driver should be more user friendly and less compute intensive. Display is a must. Maintainability should be improved. Then it would be worth owning. I'd rather pay more for a printer and have it actually work.

Superb Printer
Pros: I used to have ink cartridges dry up all the time, this printer with seperate ink tanks does well for the infrequent printing I do. Laser sharp quality and extremely fast!!!
Cons: It's big, make sure you have plenty of room. Other than that none.

HP Officejet Pro K550 Printer
Pros: Fast reliable printing. Long lasting cartridges. Very good quality print.
Cons: I had a couple of paper jams until I changed from ordinary photocopy paper to inkjet paper. No more jams since!
Other Thoughts: I just bought a new K550 this week for my wife to use. Enough said!

HP K550 Printer
Pros: Great printer for the price. I use mine in my home office.
Purchased the auxillary paper tray with it. Regular 8.5x11 in the top and DVD jacket labels in the bottom.
Ink cartridge capactiy is good and the price is right on refills.
Had this one a year and a half noew - a very good unit.
Cons: Pirntheads are hard to find - haven't had to replace one yet though - just looking for spares.
Other Thoughts: It's fast and quiet, has good ink/paper capacity for home use.
The network option is nice - I have it setup shared on a small server via the LAN.

Very poor QA
Pros: They give you a large box to ship them back.
Cons: These things are just OK, if you can make one work for longer than a few days. I bought two. I've had five so far. That's Three RMAs in three months, people. The most recent unit just broke again... and I've had a different problem every time.
Want some advice? A Samsung CLP-510 is a duplexing network laser printer, and they are better in every single way. They're even quieter than the K550.
Other Thoughts: Newegg's RMA is a lot less annoying than HP's.

A steal since the price drop.
Pros: I went shopping for a very good basic color inkjet. Something to replace my HP 932C which had developed a squeak and pickup problems. Having used HP business products before, I picked up this one despite its >$300 price at the time and couldn't be happier. Every option one could want, very fast, almost laser crisp, and excelent per page cost.
Cons: Has a tendancy to eat through ink on low capacity cartridges. Be sure to order high capacity ones. Also can pick up two pages at onces, especially if manually duplexing. No problems with an automatic duplexer, and supposedly a firmware update fixes this problem.
Other Thoughts: I've put 2,148 pages to date through it in about 6 months, and after the initial standard black cartridge I'm on my second high capacity cartridge and it's 71% full.

This thing is a beast!
Pros: Extremly fast printing. Will shoot the page accross the room if the little catchy thing isn't up. Prints excellent quality photos. Individual ink tanks are very easy to change, CHEAP, and have a huge page yield. NewEgg does it again!
Cons: Very slow printing photos, and cant print borderless. Slow firing up for the first time, but after that its fast!
Other Thoughts: This printer is BIG. Its about the size of an all-in-out but its only ink-jet. Supports Windows XP Pro x64 w/ drivers from HP.com (not on included CD for some strange reason).
NOTE: DOES NOT COME W/ A USB CABLE!!!

So far, so good
Pros: Fast, low cost per page due to large individual ink tanks, (not tiny little tri-color cartridges.) Also, this is a workgroup printer at the same cost as a single user printer a few years ago. I am ordering my 5th one for work. So far, I like it, (and I am not liking much from HP these days.) NewEgg Rocks!
Cons: Long setup time! If you push the paper into the tray to far, which is easy to do, it will jam every time.
Other Thoughts: I have been very disapointed with HP and its products for a few years now. I can't help it, but I am waiting for the other shoe to drop...

Pros: Great printer. Very fast in fast draft mode. Print quality in that mode is fine for general business use. Higher quality print modes look great too. So far I'm using three of 'em in my business with no problems.
Cons: Occasionally the pages get out of order. If the printer spews out a page before the previous page has settled into the output tray, the second page will slip under the previous one. If the printer wasn't so darn fast this wouldn't be a problem!
Other Thoughts: Be sure to keep high capacity ink cartridges on hand. I couldn't find anything but the small ones at local retailers.

So far, so good
Pros: This printer is built for speed! It is superfast, especially in draft mode. Also, the toner is rated to last a long time and hopefully it will.
Cons: It jams when you try to use FEDEX labels. It works fine for UPS labels which are thicker and regular paper. It is a little larger than we realized.
Other Thoughts: Newegg had it at the best price and is our most trusted computer supplier.

This printer is shasty
Pros: Cheap
Cons: Uses 6 different ink cartidges; We purchased 14 of these and have had to contact HP about 8 of them already, and they have only been operable for about a month. We had to get a replacement on one before we even had them installed on location. HP's support doesn't have a clue as to how to troubleshoot them and there is no documentation about the printers anywhere.
Other Thoughts: DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER!

Problem after problem...
Pros: Fastest inket printer.
Cons: We've had this model of printer for just over a month now and it's been nothing but problems from day one. I initially installed the printer for one of our users and it was making LOTS of noise and had white lines between all the black and yellow text. After spending approximatly 2 hours on the phone with HP's tech support, they decided to send me a new printer. When we received the new printer, it would not power on at all. So I had to contact HP and they sent me a third printer. The third printer was still having the issue with the white lines when printing black and yellow colors. After spending another hour with HP, they sent me a new black/yellow cartridge. This fixed the problems, other than a goofy alignment error that I fixed by printing an alignment page.
Prior to this, I've always had good experiences with HP products. This printer is noisey and it seems to be doing lots of things on it's own (which prevents you from printing). It doesn't take paper very well either.
Other Thoughts: I would never ever make this purchase again. I normally like HP, but not this printer at all.

Review of Business Use...
Pros: Very fast, and somewhat quiet. Unlike the only printers hp's which were louder than a T-rex at times, this thing just SOUNDS efficient. HP's software for this printer is very sophisticated, so if you are in business, you can set it to different prints modes that you create and save. This printer is VERY FAST.
Cons: READ THIS...IF ONE CARTRIDGE IS OUT OF INK, YOU CANNOT PRINT AT ALL (even black and white, if say, your cyan is gone). DOES NOT handle cheap copy paper well AT ALL. Symptoms that your paper is too cheap (thin): it grabs two or three sheets at once, it jams horribly, or chews on the leading edge of your prints, and it shuffles the order of your prints. Also, as of 3/2006, there is no aftermarket cartridge for this printer, so you have to buy geniune HP at gold prices.
Other Thoughts: HP's live online chat support is free. There are software and firmware upgrades, go get them. If you plan on using this for business, get another paper tray or two, since it is a bottom loader.

Amazing Printer
Pros: Incredibly fast in both b/w and color. (Believe the advertised speeds.) Crisp text rivals my laserjet 5MP. Graphics quality is superb. Photos are OK on regular paper, excellent on photo paper. Ink consumption is low, and you can believe the advertised durations for the ink tanks. Individual ink tanks are a plus, as are the replaceable heads, although I haven't had to replace them.
Cons: Only con for me is the lack of a manual feed, which means printing odd media (like envelopes) is a pain, requiring emptying and refilling the paper tray.
Other Thoughts: This is a superb printer. Not a superb inkjet printer: a superb printer.

Best printer I've ever owned
Pros: Amazing print speed.
You can't get COLOR prints this fast out of a color laser printer. The HP8250 claims to be as fast but I think the HP K550 is still faster.
Cons: Does a lot of noisy mechanical monkey business sometimes in-between prints. I don't know what it's doing but it's a little annoying at times.
Other Thoughts: This is a large sturdy business class printer and will probably last longer than a the consumer grade HP 8250.
