Rating + 5 Excellent Mono Laser

Pros: Quick crisp printing at an extremely good price. None of the ususal HP bloatware installs OOB.

Cons: No USB printer cable included

Other Thoughts: I purchased this for my home office, which I'd describe as moderately heavy use. I've had no problems.

Rating + 5 Awesome Printer

Pros: Great printer for college - I print papers and reports weekly and haven't changed the toner yet.

Cons: The replacement toner is almost as much as the printer, but this printer comes with one pre-installed.

Other Thoughts: Very good printer.

Pros: Inexpensive, very easy to install, incredibly quick first page. It works seamlessly over my VPN, where I print locally from my server 20 miles away.

Cons: pricey cartridge, doesn't hold much paper

Other Thoughts: I use it for all kinds of non-graphic printing.

Rating + 5 An Excellent Printer

Pros: These printers are inexpensive, fast, and quiet. It doesn't take up much space, either.

Cons: Toner cartridges are a bit spendy but they seem to last a very long time.

Other Thoughts: We have several of these printers: the 1010, 1012, and 1020. Have never had any problem with any of them.

I think this is a great printer for a great price.

Rating + 5 Wonderful

Pros: Excellent quality. The printer was on sale for under $100 and this was a steal. It prints efficiently and quickly with no page curling. The cartridge it came with sells for about $70, so this was an excellent laser printer for a mere 30 bucks. You can't beat that. Thanks newegg.

Cons: none

Rating + 3 Good entry level laser printer.

Pros: This is a nice entry-level laster printer for personal or small business use. It replaced a ink-jet that was costing our office too much money on ink cartridges.

Cons: A bit small. It is by no means in industrial strength printer.

Other Thoughts: If you need a low capacity laser printer for personal or small business use, this one should work great. Don't buy it with the expectation that it can keep up with a high capacity of documents.

Pros: Very good budget laser printer. I use one of these along with 4 other printers in my office at home, and have one in my office down at work as well. I have been using the one in my home office since this model was first released and have only had to replace the toner once. The toner cartridge that it ships with served me for well over 2500 pages.

Cons: It was about .015" too wide to fit on the shelf in my desk that I wanted it to go in. Luckily, the side panels are easily detached and the plastic is moderately thick so I used a belt sander to take an ever so fine layer of material off of it to make it fit just right ;]

Other Thoughts: Great printer, especially for the price. I have used dozens of lasers over the last decade and a half probably now and HP has definitely produced the best units by far. You can't go wrong with this unit... unless of course you want to go color prints :)

Rating + 5 HP Reliability/Quality

Pros: I have tried other laser printers in this price range and can say that the HP laserjets in this price range are unbeatable given their unsurpassed reliability and quality output. This model is just as good as the HP 1015.

Cons: None at this price

Pros: Fast printing, efficient user of toner, quiet, dependable, great support from HP and takes up a minimal amount of space.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: I've been using this printer for about 8 months now. This was one of the best b/w printers I've ever purchased.

Pros: Very Pealsed with the printer.. works great.. had a small problem getting it work with my "print picture" thing on Vista but after a while i just decided to untinsall t and before i had come back from the computer being restarted, Vista took care of it and had already installed it and fixed the proble. so now no problems at all!

Cons: It could print faster ;p NOT! Mooooore than enough.. great speed..

Other Thoughts: very recommended.. and the toner has a lot to give.. especially if you use "eco-toner" mode.. i have easily printed over 800 pages with the toner I originally got and that was in april (november now)..

Pros: I use this connected to my desktop on USB. It's shared out and all my laptops print to it wirelessly. It works perfectly with no jamming. It's a great office/home laserjet printer.

Cons: No network port, but I already knew this. Get the 1022N if you're planning to network. Or, buy a usb print server hub.

Pros: It's cheap (especially with free shipping), fast, quiet, and prints high-quality text and images. Easy toner installation. Driver install was (surprisingly) painless.

Cons: No glaring deficiencies come to mind.

Other Thoughts: Cartridges may cost ~$45, but you get many times more out of one of these than a regular inkjet cartridge. Think about it like this ($45/2000 pages) = 2.25 cents/page, vs. ($15/400 pages) = 3.75 cents/page. So, barring the initial investment, using this printer costs you about 3/5 the cost of a normal inkjet.

Rating + 5 Drivers are finally here!

Pros: Vista 64-bit drivers are here, and I am up and running after a 9 month dry spell. Affordable, easy to use printer for PC based printing. I've had this printer for about 2 years now, and have yet to change the toner. I estimate I've printed about 2,500 pages of average content since i've had it. Spits out the first page quite a bit quicker than the Dell 1100 laser printer. I'm a student who frequently prints papers and other documents, as well as web pages and driving directions. This printer has proven to be excellent for what I need it for. I have it shared on my network, so I can still print from my laptop without any problem.

Cons: HP Support. It took HP nearly 9 months to come up with drivers for Vista 64 after its release.

Other Thoughts: Obviously no USB cable is included, just like any other printer.

Rating + 3 Not for linux or wireless!

Pros: I hear it prints good... Unfortunately, the one I bought is relegated to the junk pile in the closet.

Cons: Do not get this printer unless you will be connected directly to a Windows PC. It is essentially a Win printer and the smarts are in the driver. It doesn't work on a wireless print server and although it can be made to work under linux it probably isn't worth the effort.

Rating + 4 Nice, affordable printer

Pros: Affordable entry cost as lasers go, very small footprint, quiet, but not exceptionally quiet compared to other lasers.

Works as a great option for those of you seeing the light, and giving up with the inkjets, cost per page comes in between 3 and 5 cents depending on where you find your toner, i found a few at a store 50% off, driving this WAY down. Look around

Cons: Cost per page is slightly high for a laser, if you are printing A LOT, consider other models, but if you are just stepping up from an inkjet, maybe doing a little more printing as a result, this is a great printer to go with!

Other Thoughts: As others have said, it is pretty lame that it doesnt come with a USB cable, but who doesn't have a bag full of them anyways? Buy one on new egg for a couple of bucks

Prints great transparencies as well!

Rating + 5 Zippy printer, no complaints

Pros: Very quick time to first print, and overall fast printing times. (spec is right on). Good resolution.

Cons: None at this time.

Other Thoughts: This printer only has one feed tray, and a manual feed option which works well for me with envelopes.

I have not run out of toner yet, and I did not do a cost per print analysis of this printer. That may be a drawback in the future, but at this time, I am very happy with my purchase.

Rating + 5 Great buy on a great little printer

Pros: Small footprint. If you have a small workspace this printer will be your friend. It's light, easy to set up and does what a laser printer should do...print! It has the secondary slot for other paper/envelopes etc which is very nice for a cheaper printer.

Cons: Haven't found any yet other than it's a little slower than my other laser printer but for this price, I can wait 3 seconds longer.

Other Thoughts: Great little laser printer that has amazing laser print quality, don't let the small size fool you, this is a nice printer.

Rating + 5 GREAT PRINTER!

Pros: This printer is a bargain, and it prints very well for this class of laser printer. Satrt up speed is quick, as is the print speed. HP makes great laser printers in any class. Set up is very easy.

Cons: Not really Cons, but things you may want to know before you purchase this printer.
No USB cable (but what printer does come with one?)
No paper tray cover (may be purchased from HP or a third party vendor).
No PCL driver support. Only has Postscript drivers.
Low quality paper curls slightly. Use good quality paper or turn down fuser temperature in the driver.

Other Thoughts: Buy this printer!

Rating + 5 A nice, compact printer

Pros: Very compact. Fast. Good first page timing.

Cons: Only 2MB of RAM.

Doesn't come with a USB cable, but that's minor.

Other Thoughts: I've had dozens of HP printers and this one is very good. Way better than the old personal series in every respect. If B&W is OK for you and you don't do a ton of printing, then this is the printer to get.

Rating + 5 Great Printer

Pros: This printer is the easiest and best printer I have seen in a while within $100,00 over the price range. I bought here for $109.00. Even at retail of $179.00 it is a great buy. It out performs my older but much more expensive printer. I think I paid $329.00 on sale for it. The toner I found for 39.99 online. It has easy software. I did nothing but make it my default printer which is optional. Pop in the disk and click finish. Seting up was a snap too. Easy to follow instructions with pics. It is simply the best thing I have seen in quite some time.

Cons: Well, I was going to get it ten dollars cheaper with an $80 rebate at staples but I misseed sale by a day.

If you don't get it at this price it isn't likely to hold out for too long.

Other Thoughts: I get more than 20ppm on the regular printing. If you calculate the lag for start up It may be 15ppm or so. I print hundreds of pages at a time. I get alot better than 20ppm. maybe 25+

Rating + 5 Good little printer

Pros: I bought this printer for veterinary school and the unnatural amount of notes that it requires us to print. I couldn't handle the speed or cost of my inkjet anymore. I have had it about 20 days and it's already cheaper than my old printers (ink wise). This printer is fast, small, and problem free so far! It is plug and play so first time out of the box I used it immediately. It fit the little space I had for it great. It has yet to jam or do any of the other things printers decide to do to annoy you.

Cons: Haven't run across any yet.

Rating + 4 HP LaserJet 1020

Pros: Cheap - Decent print - Speed

Cons: Doesn't handle networking well.

Other Thoughts: I have owned two of these and just purchased 2 more for grandson and son. The only problem I have had is getting it to work on a DLink print share, hence I bought a second one for the wife. These have decent but not great print quality. I use it for a club I am secretary for and my wife uses it to print high quantity genealogy papers. I have been through 4 cartridges. The volume per cartridge is good im my opinion. I would recommend these for any personal use or even a small office.

Rating + 2 HP Support SUCKS

Pros: Small footprint, very fast start up, good text quality..... when it works!

Cons: Prints a thick vertical line about 5mm from right edge anytime you try to print something that has a picture or graphic in it, or if the document is more than 2 mB big.
HP tech support was very obviously in Hindustan, and were unable to do anything but blow through about 100 sheets of paper and 3 hours of my time "confirming" that I had a problem. Said they would call me back the next day with a solution and never did. So here's your printer back, HP.

Other Thoughts: NEW EGG is the best store ever, resolving my problem took about 30 seconds. Should've called them first.
Will be getting the Brother 2040.

Pros: Cheap, small footprint, silent when not printing, good print quality, prints fast for the price/size.

Cons: There's no USB cable included. Make sure you order a cheapo $.99 one from Newegg - otherwise you'll spend 10-20 bucks for the same cable at a retail store.

Other Thoughts: Great printer for $100. It starts printing within 10 seconds and the quality is comparable to the top of the line mono HP laser printers we have at work.

Rating + 5 Does the Job

Pros: Works well. Good print speed, good quality, no complaints. For the price and a budget printer, it's hard to find a significantly better deal.

Cons: Driver for OS X was moderately tricky (it's not officially supported), but found a solution in the end.

Other Thoughts: Works wirelessly for both WinXP and OS X on my AirPort Express. Plugged it in, recognized immediately by my Mac...just had to hunt for 15 minutes for a driver. (Google!) Windows installation was also moderately tricky due to the use of the AirPort...but again, 15 minutes of troubleshooting got it up and running just fine.

I also use an Epson Stylus Photo, and didn't want to use its ink for documents anymore...this HP LaserJet fills that role perfectly.

Rating + 5 Great PrinteR!

Pros: It's fast, quiet, has HP reliability, inexpensive, small footprint.

Cons: Doesn't come with a USB cable!! Also is monochrome, but if you don't need to printer in color like me, this is no big deal at all.

Other Thoughts: Got this package with a free 4GB PQI flashdrive, had free shipping, and there's a $50 Mail in Rebate. You simply cannot go wrong.

People have said that you can see the dots when you print. That is very misleading, because this prints like a professional laser printer. You might be able to see the dots.....if you have a magnifying glass.

Otherwise, this is one wonderful printer. Much better than any inkjet I've ever used.

Pros: Fast with great quality printing. Replacing older Lexmark in need of $350.00 print head.

Cons: To the contrary of the other reviewer yes, there are Vista drivers, however, there are no 64 bit Drivers for Vista available yet. Checked HP site and it only says they are currently working on them. Unfortunately no other drivers (XP 64bit) would suffice.

Pros: Works in Linux with CUPS and foo2zjs. Prints fast. Nice quality. Small footprint.

Cons: If you want paper trays, dust covers, LCD displays etc, you'll need to spend 2 or 3 times as much money. If you just want a cheap laser printer, look no further.

Other Thoughts: Old reviews bemoan the lack of Vista and 64-bit drivers. WinXP-64 and Vista 32/64 drivers are available from HP, so pay no attention to those old reviews.

Rating + 5 Awesome (even with Vista)

Pros: The printer works great. My paper, even being cheap paper, does not curl. It was clearly stated there would be no USB cable with the printer; however, since I replaced an old printer, I had a USB cable. I downloaded the Vista drivers from HP’s website (~4.5 MB) and they installed quickly and easily.

Cons: It is so compact I can hardly see it. In other words, no cons.

Other Thoughts: A consumer HP driver that is only ~4.5 MB? Nice!

Pros: Inexpensive and absolutely silent when not printing. Acceptable print quality for this price range.

Cons: When plugged into add-on usb 2.0 card or usb hub connected to the card, there is a delay of 4-8 minutes before the 1st page prints. No delay when connected to oem usb 1.1 port.

Other Thoughts: Hard to beat this printer for low cost, occasional print needs.

Pros: This is a very nice product, small, light weight, easy to set-up, and relatively quiet.

Cons: I bought this because of an email about a sale.
I think I would have prefered a networkable printer...similar ones from Brother and Samsung have either or both Ethernet or WiFi capability. It is not standalone! It is a Win Printer, such that much of the processing of a print is doen on the connected PC.

Other Thoughts: Nice to finally get a Laserprinter!

Pros: After nearly 1 year this 1020 has performed perfectly. This printer is used in a small business and other printing tasks. #10 envelopes, lables, billing, all exceptional quality. So far, we are still using the original supplies. Fast & quiet. Seems reliable.

Cons: A very minor thing: You can not put a ream of bond paper in the paper feed tray.

Rating + 5 Fast first page out!!!!

Pros: HP does have VISTA drivers out for this printer. Fastest first page out I have seen for a printer in this price range. Good quality text printing with very low page cost. Beats an inkjet so bad it hurts.

Cons: Like most printers, doesn't come with a usb cable. This is so you have to buy that $15-20 cable at the store, that really costs $.69. Every printer manufacture has done this since the dawn of computing, so how much of a surprise is that?

Other Thoughts: I wish people who put these rating up would state their real skill level. Not everyone has a "high understanding" as proven by their comments. Cool part is this has no LCD display to PC Load Letter, so you don't get flashbacks from OFFICE SPACE!

Pros: This printer prints quick, the quality is great, and so is the price. I looked around quite a bit before I bought, and this printer is the best value, and its even a better value from Newegg because they have the lowest price. Other places are giving discounts off the $179.00 MSRP also but only to about $160.00, Newegg's price blows that out of the water.

Cons: None, this is the one to buy

Other Thoughts: The price for the toner isn't bad either, buy this from Newegg as well, their about $ 10.00 less than Best Buy and Staples, shipping is free and its only 3 days.

Pros: Very easy to use, Plug n Play recognized almost instantly with 3 different computers, Prints fast, definitely the best printer out of the 4 I've had he past few years.

Other Thoughts: I recommend this to anyone who needs to print black and white sheets here and there.

Rating + 5 Very good basic Laserjet Printer

Pros: Solid monochrome printer, decent print speed. This printer has a relatively small footprint if that is an important consideration. Print operation is very quiet.

The cost of a new print cartridge is not too far off what I paid for this printer so I feel I got great value from NewEgg.

Cons: None really. I mention the small footprint above which is true. One item to keep in mind is that the picture shows the door on the front up/closed. You need to leave this open so it lays flat on the front side of the printer...this is where the paper lays so it does expand footprint in that regard.

Other Thoughts: I've used HP printers for about 20 years and have enjoyed each and every one. New Egg delivery and customer service is great as always..a trusted supplier.

Pros: Finally! HP released x64 drivers for this printer! I can confirm that these drivers work with XP x64, but i personally cannot confirm for vista x64. Now i can use my printer again!

Cons: None now!

Other Thoughts: go to google and search for 'laserjet 1020 x64' without the quotes. click the 'Laserjet 1020 Driver for Vista - TechNet Forums' on microsoft's forum site (should be the fourth complete link). scroll to the second to last post, and there is your link!

Rating + 5 Terrific printer -- Just buy it

Pros: Great price and great product. I've owned HP printers for the past several years and I never had a problem with any of them. This LaserJet 1020 is a super value. Setup was easy and it simply does it's job well. Newegg's price is great and delivery time terrific as usual.

Cons: I'm thinking . . . I'm thinking . . . NONE!

Other Thoughts: Again, Newegg is the best. I have been using Newegg for several years. When I decided on this particular model printer, I knew I would get it from Newegg. However, I checked other sites and even brick-and-mortar stores. What a waste of time. Newegg has the price and quick delivery. If you are a Newegg fan, you know what I'm talking about. If you are a new Newegger, you will also become a fan.

Rating + 4 Great Printer for the Price

Pros: Great standard for the 10xx series. My secretary found this as an acceptable replacement to her Laserjet II monster she used to have. It works and feeds the same (just doesn't get as hot or have the huge footprint!).

Cons: Have had some blurring problems with the Laserjet 10xx machines.

Other Thoughts: An interesting note is that the 1018 actually came out after this 1020, and both seem to be effectively identical. However since the 1018 came out, the price of this 1020 went up everywhere. Now, even though the 1018 is cheaper, it is still more expensive than the 1020 used to be.

Rating + 5 Best Choice For The Best In Monoprinting

Pros: Intuitive installation, simply run the disc and click thru the easy steps. Fast, simple and a test page is out before you expect it. No manual, no fuss. HP is strictly business! No background running spyware programs stealing your RAM. Most surprising is the lightning speed and ULTRA QUIET operation. Very quiet while printing and by far less noise than the best of inkjets. The default settings provide high quality detail in even complex graphics so unlike inkjets. Customizing past defaults and you have sincerely remarkable results. Outstanding options allow you to print labels, envelopes, odd cut medias and a wide variety of medias. Using Kodak photo quality 90 gram/M2 media is flawless, no jams, no hassles. The decision to spend less for a monochrome HP laser printer than a bells & whistles inkjet all-in-one is a long term choice best made. The toner will easily outlast umpteen inkjets, paying for itself in weeks.

Cons: Being a monochrome laser printer there are no cons. Compact, light weight and effcient. My only complaint is not being able to have found a Microsoft Windows XP driver, 3rd party or not to have used our Epson Stylus 2500. In the meantime, having chosen the HP laser printer was the best choice in performance for 98% of our needs. The volume of the toner will save us 4 Xs as much spent for the laser printer than going thru many inkjets.

Other Thoughts: More important than the techno/electronic product(s) you are buying and the often times many choices available is where you buy it. We have been repeat customers of NewEgg and for good reasons. NewEgg simply offers not only the best selections at the best prices, they care for you, the customer. Polite, professional, honest, easy and direct communication is always available at NewEgg. Their reps listen and take care in meeting your any needs and issues you may have. They want to keep you happy first and foremost. Even Comcast cable ISP and other major companies choose NewEgg for their computer/electronics needs.

Pros: Great value, print quality, speed.

Cons: "True" footprint (~14"x15") is larger than shown (~9"x15"). Realistically, users will have the paper tray down at all times - this configuration is how much room it'll take. Check out NewEgg's additional images for a sense of how it'll look on your desk.

Pros: This is just another great model from a great printer line! I have two HP 1012s, which are the predecessor to this model, and then of coarse I just picked one of these up for $xx bucks! Of the two 1012s that I have owned for 2+ years, I have replaced one cartridge in one printer (I print about 50 - 100 pages a month on each), for $xx dollars from one of the big box electronic stores. If you need cheap, reliable B&W, this is the unit for you!

Cons: No cable included? But thats what you get today from any company so they can hose you on the USB. Luckily newegg has cheap cables...

Rating + 5 THE BEST FOR HOME USERS

Pros: Newegg always rocks. This is the best, compact, easy, friendly, and fast laserjet printer. BTW it's cute also. It costs twice in the local retailers. We have been using hp in our work place for a long time; however, this little champ works better than any other laserjet. I am totally impressed. Personally, I used to be epson guy, used their inkjet over decades, recently got tired of their clogging problem. I needed a printer ASAP for my home. It took me few days to make me convince to divert my epson mind to buy this HP LaserJet 1020. And guess what? I am not regretting at all. I am more than happy. The print quality of the text is sooooo amazing. The best part is that it doesn't need the so-called warmup timing. 5 ***** ALL THE WAY. If someone is thinking to buy a laserjet instead of inkjet, please do a favor yourself, just get it, don't waste time just like I did before I bought this printer.

Cons: NOT AT ALL.

Other Thoughts: My only online friend 'Newegg' never turned me down before. So is this time. I ordered it on wednesday evening, receieved it by Friday 10:30 am. AWESOME. This is one of my smartest buy in recent years. I love this printer. It worth for every penny. Thanks newegg.

Pros: Fast printing, excellent quality, large paper tray, quiet, and very small in size; it doesn't take up that much real-estate.

Cons: Doesn't come with a USB plug, expensive toner cartridge (almost as much as the printer itself).

Other Thoughts: Considering the low cost of this printer, I just can't believe the output on this thing. For the money, you can't go wrong! The company really does need to re-evaluate the toner cost. I mean, it makes no sense for a company to charge almost as much for toner as the cost of the printer.

Pros: It was very easy to set up (less than 10 minutes easily). First page prints out in 10 seconds as stated. It takes up almost no room. Couldn't ask for anything better, especially at this price!

Cons: Had to buy USB cable separately, but printers usually don't come with them. Tray only holds 150 sheets, but if you're using the printer for its intended purpose, you really shouldn't need much more.

Other Thoughts: We'll probably be buying another one to keep at home once I move back to college.

Rating + 5 Awesome Newegg

Pros: I received this printer 24 hours after I ordered it a testament to the usual speed and efficiency of Neweggs order system. I've only used the 1020 for a few hours and already I love it. This being my first laser printer I may be unduly prejudiced with its speed and print quality but, that aside, this printer, in the few hours I've used it-is GREAT!
I was a little bummed out when I couldn't find any printed set-up instructions in the box but the CD setup allowed me to intall this mother within 5 minutes without a problem. Being a pessimist by nature I was prepared to be disappointed with the too good to be true pricing and quality of this printer. I'm almost disappointed that there's no downside to this product but time will tell I guess. I ordered this beauty after my freebie Dell computer committed suicide after 2-1/2 years so I looking forward to not being ripped off by Dell for any more ink cartridiges. Well done Newegg!

Cons: Not really bad but the lack of printed setup instructions with unit will give the new user pause. No USB printer cable is no surprise and is almost an industry standard. Installing the toner cartridge was a bit confusing but after about 30 seconds I got the hang of it.

Other Thoughts: btw:Nice and securely packaged by HP to prevent damage by some crazed UPS driver having a bad day.

Pros: For future use .. none.

Cons: Vista is the operating system for the foreseeable future. HP has not written Vista drivers for this printer. It cannot be used with Vista. I read an on-line forum about this and one customer stated that HP told him he should buy a different printer.

Other Thoughts: HP should have Vista drivers for any printer they current sell. I wasted $90 on this one.

Pros: Set up was stunningly simple. Took longer to remove from the box, than to install the software. I am very impressed with the small size and the quality of the output on cheap ,cheap paper. Same guts as my 1995 Laserjet 5P, that is on it's 10th toner cartridge without so much as a single repair. Do HP Lasers ever wear out? I expect the same longevity from this HP as well Total HP quality, at an amazing $xx price with free shipping. Can you say no brainer????

Cons: Not a single one

Rating + 5 I've bought my last black inkjet cartridge

Pros: I'm an old dog learning new tricks and didn't grow up in the computer generation but have been playing since the 5-1/4" disk days of the Trash-80 and do a little bit of desktop publishing on the side. I can't speak about color printing, but the black inkjet is as passé as the pin printer for me.
My satisfaction started with the super delivery on such a true bargain priced item from NewEgg. Next came the installation and set-up. Plugging this into my XP OS was EXACTLY as it read and did it's own everything. First time I've ever had "plug&play" that wasn't "plug&pray".
The quality is fantastic and the speed and quiet is almost alarming. At this point in time, this printer is the best bang/$$ I've had with any computer addition.
I'm so impressed that I intend to come back in a few months to update and confirm this personal evaluation.

Cons: The ONLY thing that can dull my enthusiasm is if the toner cost/yield ratio exceed inkjet cost (which will be hard to do).

Rating + 5 Compact package with a BIG punch

Pros: They say never judge a book by its cover, and you should follow that rule with this little guy. For small to big home office projects this printer is fantastic. Installation is a complete breeze. The CD guides you through the entire process and tells you when to connect and turn on the printer and such. It's compact size allows it to fit in some tight spots and it's not too heavy to put on a shelf. When not in use, you can fold up the paper tray and cradle to make it even more compact. The drivers are easy to install and fortunately don't come along with anything unnecessary such as AOL trials. Printing is super fast. I've printed 6 map quest pages and it was finished within 30 seconds.

Cons: No USB cable included... what printer comes with one anyways? Seriously.

Other Thoughts: This is obviously a no thrills printer. You're not ever going to impress the family much with black and white photos, but if you have to this printer can spit out some decent enough photos to share some good memories.

Pros: Newegg shipped this to me in ONE DAY, which is awesome, considering they advertised three day free shipping! As for the printer, it is very sturdy, reliable, quick, and easy to set up. Printer comes with toner, which should keep me printing for 5 years of home use for only $xx! Spooling a 50 page PDF file takes only a few seconds, and the printing runs uninterrupted thanks to the 2MB onboard cache.

Cons: NONE. This is a deal that will keep you from wasting money on inkjet refills for years to come.

Other Thoughts: You will need to purchase your own USB cable. The XP drivers (the drivers on the CD provided) work just fine with Vista. HP promises a modified Vista driver in June or July. FYI, the XP driver works just fine.
