Wouldnt buy
Pros: It prints
Cons: Unreliable, I have had numerous issues with this printer. Wont scan to computers from time to time. Dose not auto select tray based on you print job. It will auto fit to what ever paper size it finds in tray one.
IP address has to be set static according to tech support. This is by far the worst printer i have ever worked with. I really wish i could send it back to get my money back.......

Alot of bang, too much buck, not reliable
Pros: Nice look, great features, lot's of buttons and blinky lights...
Cons: EXTREMELY slow to initialize at power up. A lot of action going on, with no clear understanding of why it's going through so much initialization!
I bought this unit to replace a dead (firmware failure/not repairable) 7400 AIO and right out of the box, this new one wouldn't duplex print. Kept erroring out and requring me to restart printer. Looking at the pages after a failed print, it looks like somewhere in the paper path there is something causing the pages to hand...giving the error. Opened up the case, but there isn't any readily available spots to fix it.
Other Thoughts: Other cons: Loud, lots of vibration, paper path is not "clearable", wireless was an issue at first, but I tackled that. Cartridges - 4 plus 2 removable print heads...wow. Heavy too.
Not sure where to go at this point. Will replace with NewEgg (by the way, BEST service of ANY I've tried) and hope I get a better unit this time.

RTM and you will fall in LOVE!!!
Pros: Love it, Love it, Love it!!!! Sorry guys but I cannot say it more. I am a super geek. I live to destroy items like this unit. If everyone that had given this unit a bad review would have taken a least 1 extra minute to not rush the setup of this unit, they would have had an awesome experience like I had. I use this printer via wireless with my BEC7300N DSL router. The 4 page instruction booklet was phenomenal. This printer more than delivered on what they said it can and will do. I will definitely be buying another one of these unit, in about 5 or 6 years.
Cons: Large unit.
Other Thoughts: Read The Manual!!!

Piece of $%!?
Pros: 2 paper trays, duplexer, wired+wireless, bluetooth capable (but not included)
Cons: I should have sent back to Newegg as soon as the problems started! Wired connection was DOA so used it wireless until replacement showed up. 2nd unit killed a printhead (according to HP) so they sent another printhead. 2nd printhead is now dead so I will need to send that back too.
Software is garbage!!!!!! I had/have OfficeJet 7210 installed for a few years and that software was junk too, but I could kill a few of the startup processes and it was tolerable. This piece of dung wouldn't install so I wiped the PC clean of HP software and started fresh. This worked, but printer died (see above). When replacement arrived, software would not work with the new unit. So, I did it all again... Then the printhead started failing so I re-installed the 7210 and began using that (without much trouble). Then the replacement printhead showed up and all hell broke loose!
Other Thoughts: I couldn't get the software to recognize the printer on my network (even though it installed perfectly on another workstation). I then went and uninstalled EVERYTHING (yet again)..... Now the software won't install and no manner of system cleanup will get it to work. I used the HP cleanup software but it still won't run.
I am at least 8 hours into this hunk of junk and I am still printing on the 7210 that it was meant to replace!!! (NOTE: I can't even install the 7210 on the 1 workstation, all HP software fails - so I am sharing from the 1 "good" workstation in order to print for now...)
If I have to talk to another tech that has difficulty understanding what I am saying only to have them send me a refurbished product as a replacement - I am going to lose my mind!
Word of mouth - that's why this thing is $250 off the regular price... it is junk, people spoke, I DIDN'T LISTEN! Do yourself a favor and AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Fantastic All-in-One with Every Option Out There
Pros: Extremely fast printing. Excellent print quality. It pretty much has every single all-in-one option you can think of. Has a really nice and easy to use interface from both the computer software and the color on-screen display. The auto-duplexer is great. I have used it many times to cut my paper usage in half. It does take longer to print using it because it has to let each page dry for a few seconds before it can print on the other side.
I really like the individual ink cartridges and the consumer replacable printheads. The auto low power standby is very nice too, and you are able to select a couple different timers for it depending on your usage.
The bundled software seems pretty nice so far.
With this machine I will probably never wind up going to a print shop again since this machine can handle whatever you want to throw at it.
Cons: The ink cartridges and printhead cartridges are really nice but on the expensive side. Auto-doc feeder is strong, fast, and agressive. You really need to make sure that your documents are perfectly straight when putting them in or they will get chewed edges.
This next part might not be a con, so please read carefully. There is a program you can install that's intended to be a better file search engine than that that is built into Windows. It worked fine and still does. But when I installed a new video card the search box on the Win XP toolbar went from about 1.5" to 5". I have not been able to correct the size, so I can't have the quick search box on the toolbar anymore because I don't have the room. Again not sure if this is the program's fault or not.
Other Thoughts: Be sure that you download the latest software, driver, and firmware from HP. This isn't so much a con as if you don't you will have tons of problems from what others have said. But this is good advice for anything you install on your computer.
I only have this machine connected to one computer directly with a USB cable. Eventually I will connect it to a print server. Others have said they had issues using the WiFi or when connected to multiple machines. I have not been able to test this as of yet.
Some people have commented about the noise and shaking of this machine as it prints and listed it as cons. I really don't see that as a fair con. You have to keep in mind this a large office piece of equipment. Because it prints so fast it is going to make noise and it is going have some shaking to it as the printheads are zipping back and forth at very high speed. If you want a quieter machine that isn't going to have any motion to it then you have to go laser.

Networking is excellent
Pros: Excellent print. Fast black and white. Digital filing and having it scan directly to .pdf is wonderful. The 88x toner prints reasonable quantities per unit. Faxing from your computer is fantastic and saves a substantial amount of paper.... if it installs.
Cons: Loud when printing and scanning. Document feeder is very temperamental and does not feed over 5 sheets reliably enough to be unattended. Software can be a nightmare if the initial setup is interrupted. Computer number one was perfect, number two had a malfunction mid-install.
Other Thoughts: We have two. The 7760 non wireless has a better doc feeder.

Wouldnt buy it
Pros: Printer works well when its not locked up.
Cons: If the printer losses hard network connection it locks up.
If you use wireless it locks up shortly after boot.
If it sits for an extended period of time it locks up.
Other Thoughts: Attempting to return for a refund. Or credit

Great Printer
Pros: This is the third OJ 7XXX printer I purchased. My wife is a teacher... The first two were 7310s and were used for more than 70,000 total copies. This printer is easily the best of the three. The 7310s didn't die, I gave them to my children and they are still running. I am running the 7780 as a wireless device off a router with little reading and no problems.
Cons: The cost of HP ink and the level of training generally available for printer telephone support.

So far So Good!
Pros: Purchased this to replace ,old, seperate fax, scanner and printer equipment that would not work with Vista. So far I've been very happy with the unit. I have not had the problems that many have described in previous reviews. I took peoples review comments to heart and used the HP download software, a fixed IP address and made sure that all the packing material was removed from the printer, including those hidden spots. The set up went flawlessly on 3 computers --- 2 with Vista and one with XP and 3 different security packages (Windows, Mac & Norton). I did not have the conflict with existing HP printer or scanner softare as some have mentioned. I like the scanner being ablle to do legal documents as well as do multiple pages with the document handler. Duplex printing works good and both trays are available through software selections. My wife ( if she can work it, anyone can) and I have used 110lb card stock to specialty papers and label stock without any problems.
Cons: Duplex printing tends to be a little slow and the printer waits for ink to dry before doing the second page. Scanning directly to Adobe ver. 7 is a little sporty as the HP scanning software tends to get in the way and slow the process down.
Other Thoughts: Overall, I like the printer for purpose that I purchased it for. Good quality output, works well networked (using fixed IP address) and does a great job of scanning. The Solution Center on the XP machine also picked up (seperate tab) another HP printer attached.

Bought Three
Pros: I have bought three of these for different offices and all have performed as described. Works great in Vista and xp . They are twice as much at best b*y .Great price. For $250 , how can you go wrong? One year warranty !! Scan from scanner to any workstation . It prints as fast or faster than my Samsung laser (ml2551n) It coallates documents and the color is very good. I printed 4*6 photos at about 20-25 seconds a print .My hp6100 would take 5-9 minutes to print photos. The photo quality is outstanding , seems to be better than your local photo shop. THE FAX IS EXCELLENT AS WELL . Fast Shipping , THANKS NEWEGG!!!
Cons: People wanting this printer to perform like a $2500.00 printer .
Other Thoughts: I had decided at one time I was through with hp and bought the brother all in one , it lasted a hot two weeks and the print quality was very bland ,it lacked clarity. I went right back to Hp . In reference to previous reviews , You can buy a lemmon anywhere, thats a fact in this world today . I've had bad processors , bad motherboards , bad dvd writers, bad memory, bad etc , but I keep rocking along , may not be the best , but it is alot better than the competion!!!,but overall this printer rocks!!!

EVEN WORSE THAN I HAD ORIGINALLY WROTE
Pros: IF I COULD - I WOULD GIVE THIS -5 EGGS
Cons: I JUST RECEIVED MY REPLACEMENT I SPOKE OF IN MY PREVIOUS REVIEW - THIS ONE IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE PREVIOUS ONES - ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS - IT WILL NOT PRINT ON ANYTHING OTHER THAN REGULAR PAPER - ANY KIND OF SPECIALTY PRINTER EITHER GETS JAMMED OR DOES NOT PRINT CORRECTLY - THE LISTS OF SPECIALTY PAPERS IN THE DRIVERS ARE ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!! I COULD GO ON AND ON - AS I SAID BEFORE, I WILL NEVER EVER BUY HP PRODUCTS!

ABSOLUTE 100% GARBAGE - NEVER BUY HP AGAIN
Pros: If You Find ONE SINGLE POSITIVE - LET ME KNOW!
Cons: I have owned several HP printers through the years and none have given me the problems that this one has - I had to RMA the 7680 (3 TIMES!!!) in less than 30 days and finally decided to buy this one instead - It made it a whopping total of 60 days before it completely died!! - It says there is a paper jam - there is no paper anywhere - I have opened it everywhere that paper could be found - Nothing there - I call HP support (because their online chat agents are worh less than a can of stuff) and get dead air.

Disappointed
Pros: Does a great broadcast fax, which is what I needed.
Cons: Although there are 2 paper trays, regardless of settings, faxes always use tray 1. You are supposed to be able to lock one tray in order to keep specialty paper in one and use the second tray for regular paper. It doesn't work, so I still have to place stationary in the tray each time and remember to take it out when done. Scanner does not work with document feeder and difficult to adjust settings (automatically enlarged a document and can't figure out how to print at 100% size). It may be okay for pictures (haven't tried yet) but is relatively useless for documents. Very noisy. Although pretty fast once it starts, it takes a while before the first page prints/copies - it seems to have to set up noisily each time.

Don't Buy this printer it is really not worth the price
Pros: The printer prints from a computer not using VPN The fax can send if you are lucky I don't have complain about the scan and copy.
Cons: The product is not right I have to re-configure every time for the wirless printer to work and some time it gets stacked and I went through different kind of forums and I see the same problem over and over again. I wish I know this before I purchased this product this is the most .... I don't have any word but it is really not worth the price.
The fax it sends one page and when it tries the next one it said communication failed
It is not as fast as advertised
It does not worth of returning it, because you will pay close to $100 for returning sheepment and stocking fee.
And the design is not as you see it, it comes as heavy as it gets.

Great Deal, Great Machine!
Pros: Set was a breeze. DL'd the software straight from HP. Ignored the included cd's. Prints exceptionaly fast wirelessly. Much faster than my HPC6180. With much more capacity. As to not being able to copy via top feeder using duplex, I don't know what someone else had going on but it also works great! and fast too! 1 other thing is that on the description here on the spec's page it says "Color Fax-No". That also isn't factual? Must be a misprint cause it works fine? and in COLOR? Same printer at HP almost $500.00 w/1yr ext. warranty. Here at the "EGG", $289.00 to the door!! Same 1yr extended!! NEWEGG ROCKS!!
Cons: None so far

This is a great deal!! Go Egg!!
Pros: Connection & set up was flawless. Not sure if this is a revised version or not? Cause it's nothing like all the negative comments here. It certainly DOES copy from the feeder with the duplexer. Again, flawlessly. Fax is listed on not color. It certainly is!. Prints fast too. also, you can select the larger feed tray for increased efficiency. Wireless connect also without a hitch. Didn't even bother with the included cd's. Went straight to HP's site and DL'd the latest software. Again, no problems.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: Again, this is November'08. This device was released in '07. So, though many of the problems listed in the other reviews must have occured, it could be like a lot of things? When they're 1st released they're full of bugs? I don't know. But I've had a lot of printers and this certainly appears to be a good one? I have a friend who has had one for at least 6 mos. He loves his too. At this point I'd say you could buy this with confidence. Also, HP sells this for about $460.00 with a 1 yr extended warranty. Here at the "Egg" I got it for $289.00 to my door with the same extra yr of warranty!! NewEgg ROCKS!!!

Scanning is the best feature
Pros: The scan to folder feature is great for the price. That is the best feature of this unit. Couple this with the Wireless feature, you have a great system for the price. The printing, copying, and faxing is okay. My older clients could you this unit with ease.
Cons: It takes awhile to print or scan. It may take up to 5 minutes to see the PDF in the folder.
It makes a ton of noise when printing.
Other Thoughts: I have heard these units break all the time. But for the price you can not beat it. This is perfect for a small 2-3 person office with light use. I suggest a laser printer for the main printer.

Nice printer
Pros: Good quality; ease of use; quick shipping; great product;Wireless setup was so easy - just follow printer instructions no need for CD install with that; So it first finds your router - connects and then install the driver on your computer and then your all set. Seems simple! Hardest part of all of this is downloading all the drivers from HP!! just the basic drivers thats all!!! NO WIRES!!!!
Cons: Terrible CD - don't use them at all - has errors (Vista); Install the printer drivers via HP website - that's it!
Other Thoughts: Buy it from Newegg - get the combo - cheaper - get the printer and the ink!!! What a deal! Going to other places you spend the same amount just for the printer alone!!! I got the printer plus the ink XL!!! Very happy.

Happy Customer
Pros: This printer solved my problem of printer sharing via a manual switch for just two of my home networked PC's. It is a little larger than my previous All in one, but now I can print from all of my home network systems. The price was very actractive for what I gained.
Cons: Setup was ok, but the first initialization of the print heads kept saying some thing was wrong and I had to reseat the print heads several times before it completed.
Other than that everything else was smooth and is working just fine.
Other Thoughts: Thank You NewEgg, this purchase ahs been a great value to me and my home network.

Buy if you want hours of frustration and no real help from HP
Pros: Never got the software installed despite 10 hours of attempts, chat sessions and calls to HP support. HP phone support goes to overseas and you get someone that while nice, speaks limited, broken English. An hour later, you are no further than you were when you started.
Cons: This is not just some random person posting this note. I am a real customer that is frustrated beyond belief. I own an IBM Thinkpad T43 with XP installed. Not an obscure situation by any means. The fact that HP let this product out the door without solving this sofware problem in unbelieveable. I have the same EXACT problem trying to install software for the Inkjet C4580.
Other Thoughts: My Canon software installed on 3 different pc's in about 5 minutes each. I will NEVER buy another HP printer product again. Their products and their customer support are horrible.

HP'S DIRTY LIL SECRET
Pros: The alignment and calibration procedure completed successfully (after about 10 - 15 minutes).
Cons: This WIRELESS Inkjet printer works - unless you want to use it wirelessly. Then you may as well just pack it back up and send it back. It is a known manufacturing issue in the printer firmware that cannot connect to WPA. Do a search for L7780 RESET and you'll find that plenty of other people have the same issue. I reset it once, tried to connect again and then gave up. Replacing with the Brother MFC-6490CW - I can live without duplexing if my network works.
Other Thoughts: I'm somewhat disappointed with Newegg for choosing to sell this product. Makes sense now why it's on such a great sale - once they're gone it will save many others from the same frustration.

Panning for gold
Pros: All the features and I won't repeat the possatives that all the othe reviewers say. Every thing works as advertised. Very happy with it...So far!
Cons: Insalling the software can be, and was a bit difficult for different reasons. If you have had other hp software on yuor machine i suggest it be maticulasly removed before installing, using the tools supplied by the hp web site. that was a big part of my problem! If this were the first printer installed on a new computer I believe it would install without a hich.
Other Thoughts: It took me several attempts to install the software successfully. The machine environment makes a differance aswell. e.g. (running servicessome net work services), for the full installation. I think it is best to install just the basic drivers at first. When that gos well install the rest.

Full Featured and Fast but it Jams a lot
Pros: Loaded with features, WI-FI, extra capacity Ink cartridges, 2 trays, auto duplex, great output quality, Fast.
Cons: I bought two of these printers and they both JAM constantly, while printing and when using the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder). HP Tech. Support is no help.

Great for Small Business & Workgroups
Pros: Network port & wireless built in and easy to configure, fast printing, Ability to fax and scan from your desk when configured for network. Photo Printing is OK.
Cons: Software CD included is useless. Errored out on install multiple times. Software install wants to install extra HP junk. No Cat5 Network/Ethernet cable included. Takes 20 minutes min to start up on first power on.
Other Thoughts: Don't bother using the Install CD. Download latest software package from HP - 380MB download. Also update firmware to latest. With the latest software and firmware from HP, this thing rocks! No issues. Everything worked the first time. Very fast and software is easy to use. Don't install the extra HP junk. It doesn't give you any extra functionality and only is a way for Hp to gather info from you. Would recommend this for small business use if you need color printing. If not, go get a Laser All-in-one. They'll be cheaper to buy and cheaper to operate.

Pros: quick printing.
Cons: The most unreliable item I ever own !! within a little over a year replaced about 5 !! yes 5, units. HP will give only refurbish ones - shame on them especially as I got it directly from them!! Also networking never work and probably never will see previous review... Don't get this and stay away from a company that replaced a bad one with a refurbish one , time after time, 5 times !!
Other Thoughts: NO for HP

Mixed Bag
Pros: Great - WHEN IT WORKS. Print quality is excellent, the Solution Center software is great in a small office environment, speed is decent, scan quality is good.
Cons: Here is the problem...The wireless is essentially worthless. If you have a Linksys G router, forget about using this printer. The printer locks up when the wireless radio is on and you can't access anything through the panel or software. The only way to fix this is to unplug the power and hold down 6 and # at the same time to do a reset. Then, use USB or get another router.
HP is aware of the problem, but they have no idea how to fix it (this is verbatim from their tech support).
Other Thoughts: If you use USB, this printer is fabulous. If you need wireless, get something else.

Simply Amazing!
Pros: Packaging and instructions were clear and easy step by step. Performed a full self test once installed. Running it off router so it's nice to not have to designate an always on "printer computer". Feature list a mile long! Excellent print quality and VERY fast print speed, very good . Full versions of software that is actually useful, no trialware. Quality built... Second Officejet I've owned and if this one holds up like the last one it will be good for another 6+ years of hard use.
Cons: It's Big? It's Heavy?
Other Thoughts: This is the King Kong of Printers!!

Great Printer
Pros: Lots of features. Mutiple paper trays and options. Duplex printing. Good photo printing. Wired and wireless setup ability. Love being able to fax from my laptop.
Cons: Wireless is somewhat funny. Took a couple tries to get it working. First one I got was DOA. Had to send it back to Newegg. Software installation is time comsuming.
Other Thoughts: Great printer to have and use. Fits all my needs for a soho printer.

Pros: So far everything works great! The duplex printing has already paid for itself in the first month! (we were paying $1500/month for print shops) The wireless is great once you assign it a static ip
Cons: It locks up if you don't assign it a static ip. But it is a 30 process to create a static ip so it's no big deal. Also, not hp's fault, but norton internet suite will not allow it to install. I had to kill norton services before it would.
Other Thoughts: Great value

Pros: Only printer to offer totally separate dual trays that can be left loaded with legal/letter and ADF legal size scanning bed. Quality printing for the short time that it was set up and worked.
Cons: This printer was a nightmare to set up with the HP software. After approx. 20 hours of time spent with HP technical support, most of the time they had remote access to my computer for the install but to no avail. I then rebuilt XP Pro. Even then, by remote access, technical support had trouble installing software and getting HP Solution Center to work and detect HP device. Finally, all systems worked for about a week then the scanner stopped working and error codes came up. HP's case manager initially refused to accept a refund but Newegg came to the rescue! It was two weeks beyond return policy and with out the original box but after they contacted HP, Newegg gave me an RMA and the HP L7780 will be out of my life forever. Bad software/bad product. The software size is over 327MB. Unless your system can do a sfc /scannow completely, you will never get a correct install! After this experience, I would never again buy an HP printer. Thanks again to Newegg for taking the return!
Other Thoughts: I switched to a different manufacturer and to laser multi-function printers.

A mixed bag
Pros: Feature of scanning directly to a Windows network share, without HP software on workstation. Availability of reduced-footprint Windows printer driver for workstations that only print, without having to also install scanner driver or HP creative software. Multi-page scan through the automatic document feeder can be saved to single multi-page PDF file. Better print head design than 73xx/74xx series; appears unlikely to fail in the way this earlier series repeatedly did. Separate individual ink color cartridges. Print head(s) are separate from the ink cartridges. Wi-Fi connectivity standard in addition to Ethernet. Large capacity additional input paper tray standard.
Cons: Although the Windows printer driver can accurately control which paper input tray should be used, not enough features on the printer itself are aware of the "Tray 2" included standard with this printer. The front-panel "Copy" feature can be set to default to Tray 2, but even though a general "Default Tray" setting also exists in the configuration menu, both INCOMING FAXES and any printer status or FAX reports and test pages always come from Tray 1 regardless of what paper is loaded there. Which is unfortunate because Tray 1 is the only tray that supports photo paper, and photo paper is therefore what's likely to be loaded there, causing loss/truncation of the incoming FAX. Have not successfully used duplex feature without a paper jam.
First printer was DOA with a mechanical deadlock in the paper feed mechanism. Second printer worked fine out of the box.
Other Thoughts: This printer is more strict with regard to what features are allowed to be selected with which types of paper. For example, 73xx/74xx series would let me run plain paper through as "borderless" and set to "draft" quality as to not over-saturate with ink. L7780 requires that photo paper be used for "borderless" (and therefore, also requires Tray 1 be used), and eliminates the "draft" quality selection when using photo papers. Causing complete over-saturation of ink if you attempt to proceed with borderless printing on plain paper, and in my experience made this impossible.
Over all, the printer is to be applauded for setting the bar high for features, and improving some of the mechanical shortcomings of the 73xx/74xx series. But the "incoming FAXes cannot use Tray 2" condition is just utterly inexcusable for a printer in this price range that includes the additional tray standard. Makes me begrudgingly a "mostly satisfied" HP owner, instead of a happy one.

Duplex Printing problems
Pros: Great features (if they would only work as advertised)
Cons: Duplex printing is not working for me. I'm on my 2nd printer; HP support is really really bad! Software is inconsistent with hardware function (the printer can resolve a paper jam; but the software can't and forces you to start from the beginning) Quality issues - very very cheap build quality. ADF is somewhat working - I only had to scan 1-5 pages so it's not yet an issue but I would assume that scanning more than 20 pages would also result in some sorts of jams.
Other Thoughts: Unless you absolutely need all these features, I would stay away from HP simply because the quality is not there and the support is so bad that you end up staying on the phone for hours listening to really horrible sales messages.

HP OfficeJet Pro L7780
Pros: Works great in every facet. Excellent print quality and speed. Have multiple wireless laptops linked to this printer without any problems. All units linked via wireless g.
Cons: Must remember the wireless feature is b or g only. No n please.
Unable to do wired and wireless link simultaneously.
?? Unable to upgrade memory - or I haven't found it yet.
Other Thoughts: Need better instructions for setup.
Have an HP Business Inkjet 2250 for 7 yrs. without any problems - expect the same with the L7780

Wireless Sucks
Pros: Good feature set if they would all work. Fast printing.
Cons: Where do I start...The first unit we received from Newegg had a printhead error that would not allow me to continue setup. I contacted HP 3 times and they didn't help at all. I RMA'd it and got a 2nd unit. This one worked ok but like everyone else I had a lot of problems with the wireless setup. I had it working briefly until I unplugged it to move it and when I plugged it back in, it froze. The $xx lexmark with wifi I bought at Walmart is much nicer than this unit.
Other Thoughts: If I could rate this a 0 I would. I should have listened to the other reviewers.

Got Wireless Working
Pros: Fast printing great wireless recpetion when it works. Love the features.
Cons: Wireless configuration does not work out of the box. Dynamic IP obtainment seems to cause printer to freeze with my Linksys Router.
Other Thoughts: Talked with Linksys. They told me to hard code the IP on the printer to 192.168.1.20; default gateway 255.255.255.0l default DNS 192.168.1.1. Now I can turn off and on my printer without it freezing.

Wireless Does Not Work
Pros: The printer looks nice and has a ton of features including scanning and file documents to a share folder on your network.
Cons: The wireless feature does not work out of the box. It freezes when you try to configure it to your network. I had to reset the printer by holding the 6 and # together while plugging it back in.
Other Thoughts: I am sure there is a fix or at least a work around but this printer is not for the novice user at least configuring the printer wirelessly.

I love it
Pros: Lots of nice features. Multi-page sheet feed scanner, large paper capacity, double sided printing, fast printing, versatile network connectivity, buitl in fax machine. I like being able to have it save to a network share when scanning. I also like being able to save it to a multi-page PDF file when scanning in multiple documents. I am using the wired Ethernet and network printing works well.
Cons: I ended up buying this from a retail store, and the box for it is very big that it would not fit in my car. Had to take everything out. Also... I did have some issues trying to print over the wireless network but it's probably an issue with my router. Wired works fine.
Other Thoughts: I really love this printer. It's very versatile, fast, and easy to configure. The web-based interface allows me to easily track my ink usage and configure settings. I can scan from the web-page too, but I wish there was a way to scan to my applications over the network.

not the best
Pros: Works good with usb.Prints fast. Good copying.
Cons: Do not use with dlink wireless router.I install this printer for a buisness and the firewall blocks and corrupts the printer driver.I spent 5+ hours on with hp and finally decided to use usb.Hp claimed to fix the problem. If you are going to use it wirelessly used a linkyis or other router.
Other Thoughts: Save your money if you plan to use this printer wirelessly with a dlink wireless router.

Great printer
Pros: I had a client purchase this printer for use in a small office. The network is entirely wireless. Assembly of the printer was straightforward. I like that the print heads are easily replaceable. It has some very neat features such as allowing you to easily scan papers a .PDF straight to your thumb drive. You can also scan directly to network drives but for average users this is probably above their heads. Holds lots of paper. High yield black ink makes this printer very cost effective.
Cons: Twenty minute initial printer initialization seems a bit crazy, but whatever it takes I guess. It takes a while to install the drivers on each machine. I put it on 6-8 computers, and on brand new X2 systems it takes about 15 minutes, double that for an older P4 system. This is a custom install with only OCR software and one HP viewing program, none of the other BS. Low yield black ink cartridges run out quickly.
Other Thoughts: There have been no issues with the printer since I set it up. It is stable on the wireless network, works great from all the computers, and the owners have no complaints. Can't beat that!

Pros: I installed this printer on a Windows XP Pro wireless office that someone else had installed the wireless router. I had no access to the wireless router settings or password, neither did the owners (was installed by Verison) After trying to get help from Verison for an hour, I walked over to the printer and started scrolling through menus. Found one that said it would auto-detect wireless networks - so I pushed it. Took it about 10 seconds (no kidding) to say hello to the router and get logged on. I was printing with it within 5 minutes. It took longer to unpack and set it up and install the printer drivers than it did to get the computer on the network.
Cons: It is a bit complex for the average user and I found that I needed to tell the new owners the basics and not worry about showing them the bells and whistles (of which it has many)
Other Thoughts: Need to emphasise that this was on an existing Windows XP Professional network. I have no clue how it would behave with Vista. While it is pretty simple to print, scan, and even print from a camera or memory card, it has a lot of things you could customize (or the customer can tweak with and foul up!) I recommend thorough knowledge of HP products or familiarity with the manual for the average, non-tech user to really get the best use from this printer. I have not been called back for any remedial service with this machine, and it was still meeting the customer's needs and expectations.I am strongly considering getting one for my home office.

Promise Unfulfilled
Pros: Nice looking, huge number of features, good hardware fit and finish, print quality and speed were good when it worked, 2 paper trays, legal paper support, duplex printing (not tested), USB port and flash cards worked great, color screen for menus/preview, fax capability, document feeder, some support people were helpful, HP accepted my return request.
Cons: Wireless was unreliable, even with 4/5 on signal strength and all of the other more distant PCs working wirelessly fine, even wired networking was unreliable and reset often, HP drivers and software are famous for being unstable and problematic, and this printer didn't disappoint in that respect with slow, klunky, non-integrated software causing login crashes on one PC. Install deposits hundreds of megabytes of DLL hell, startup programs/services, taskbar icons, start menu groups, etc. Support comes from a foreign country, and sometimes makes communication hard. I spent many hours and calls with them, to no avail. Every call they made me reset the settings to the defaults again and run through their scripted requests.
Other Thoughts: This was for a small office install. The printer fit their feature needs, but made me look stupid when it failed in every imaginable way. I eventually bought them another brand of printer with fewer features for about $200, and it worked with almost no effort. Maybe since I ordered it the first day of availability, it was a bad batch, but this is the second time I've recently tried HP's consumer and lower-end business all in ones, and and the software and attention to detail is just awful!
