pretty awesome
Pros: it's small and vlight. the 13.3 widescreen seems perfectly sized. it will run multiple high resource programs without lag. keyboard is really easy to get used to (minus the FN key placement). very inexpensive. the power saver button is really helpful.
Cons: runs very hot quickly after boot. the fn key is switched with the ctrl key, and there is no way to change it. battery life - not so good (1.5 - 2 hrs). upgrading ram is a little tricky.
Other Thoughts: all fo the sofware it comes with is junk, so i just removed it. great computer for the price.

Great buy
Pros: 1. Great price/performance ratio. 2. Small and sleek, looks good. 3. Excellent customer support. 4. Not very fast in 32-bit WinXP, but adequately so for a notebook in this class and price range. Very fast under 64-bit Linux. 5. Very sharp and clear widescreen display, with vivid colors. 6. Every single component in this machine, including the wi-fi (802.11b/g) chipset, the Ethernet chipset, video chipset, dial-up modem and the DVD/RW drive is fully functional under Linux and machine is zippy (tested on Ubuntu Breezy). The only thing that doesn't work as yet for me in Linux is 'hibernate.' 7. There is a hard switch to turn off wi-fi, when not required, to conserve power. 8. There is also a power-saver switch to force the CPU to run at 800MHz, instead of the 1600 MHz rated max. But the Turion 64 procesor dynamically steps down to 800MHz under low loads, so I leave this switch in the OFF position. 9. Has a built in card reader (SD, Memstick, etc.) ...but note that CF cards are not
Cons: 1. No Win XP reinstallation CD provided. The Phoenix backup/restore software is worthless ...it stores everything to another partition on the same system hdd ...if the hdd crashes, tough luck. And, it does not play nice with dual-boot systems. Like another reviewer advised ...get rid of all pre-installed junkware from the Win XP partition. All that free software (except the DVD burner s/w) is useless. 2. Battery runs only about 2 hr 15 mins before requiring recharging (with wi-fi on). 3. Gets very hot underneath ...not very comfortable, if you plan to rest it on your lap! 4. Very loud fan noise, somewhat weak speaker output (but audio is fine if you use headphones).
Other Thoughts: 1. This notebook is approx. 4.7 lbs, not 4.2 lbs as most adverts state. 2. The laptop comes with 512MB PC2700 standard - 2 SODIMMs of 256MB in each slot. Thus, both slots are filled. Upgrading memory is not for the technically challenged -- Averatec support says that the max is 512MB per slot (i.e. 1 GB total). One slot is on the underside, requiring you to pop the whole cover. Worse, the other slot is under the keyboard! This requires you to pop the underside cover, and remove screws that hold the keyboard in place. One screw is hidden by a "warranty void if removed" sticker. Be careful, it is easy to damage the kbd if you overlook this screw. Also, you need to use a thin blade to push back the spring latches that hold the kbd. If you are not careful, you can easily scratch the plastic finish. 3. The laptop is very slim and my wife loves it. I configured it as a dual-boot (Win, Linux ->Ubuntu Breezy). She hasn't powered it down in 4 months now, and it has never crashed (in Linux).

Impressed!
Pros: Terrific screen - the color and resolution are fantastic. Very Crisp.
Keyboard provides good feedback and a nice click feel. Some laptops have horrible keyboards, but this one is pretty good.
Good design overall. Keyboard and cord layouts are all very good.
The laptop is very small, but they have utilized available space well. Very light. I love how light this thing is.
Cons: Gets warm and then the fan can get loud.
Not the fastest out there, and not the best battery life either, but it is very small and compact.
The optical drive is noisy, but all laptop drives are noisy. The speakers aren't very loud, but this isn't a multimedia laptop.
The included software from Averatec is annoying and I deleted most of it.
Important: You don't get a backup installation CD, everything is backed up off the hard drive Phoenix partition - a bad call if the hard drive crashes. You can install XP Pro though with a new HDD.
Other Thoughts: It is hard to find a 13 inch screen and this one fits the bill. Very good design. I would buy it again.

Nice!!!
Pros: Great Buy, Bright Screen, Body Looks good, Fast for a 1.6Ghz, The Price Is Right! Great For School or Just Playing Around! I am really impressed by this product! No DEAD Pix's eaither!
Cons: Wanted a 2.0Ghz but the 1.6Ghz is fine.
Other Thoughts: I was searching for a notebook and was trying to order a HP direct from HP but... something went wrong on HP's side so I did some shopping here on Newegg and compared prices and features and I came up with this Bad Boy. Newegg HOOKED me up, it was at my Post Office in 5 days and the kicker is I am Deployed OVER SEAS. HOOYAH NEWEGG!!!

bang for the buck
Pros: inexpensive, 64bit ready, speed, widescreen, and under 5 pounds.
Cons: comes w/ 2x 256mb RAM module instead of 1x 512mb. to upgrade you have to remove the "void if tampered" sticker over one of the screw; also discarding one of the RAM module to free up the slot. even in suspend mode the battery is spent after 6-7 hours because the fans and i don't know what stays ON for unknown reason.
Other Thoughts: averatec should fix the suspend function to conserve "alot" more power w/ a firmware update to the bios.

bang for the buck
Pros: great bargain for a lightweight laptop.
Cons: memmory module comes in 2x 256mb -- upgrading would mean you have to throw out a module.
Other Thoughts: upgrading RAM means you have to remove the "void if tampered" sticker over one of the screw slot.

Great value
Pros: Great price..Great performance Has a wonderful screen, comparable to sony XBRITE and the AMD turion64 uses less power than the intel equivelant. Feels very well built and light, compact size.
Cons: When it arrived it has one stuck pixel, but I was able to fix it after running this video overnight: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuck_pixel
Other Thoughts: I would buy it over again if I needed another laptop and as always newegg is great with shipping quickly.

NO BS JUST FAST
Pros: Very fast. Compared to other Turion processors with similar specs. Great looking case. VGA output on the back not the sides; same with the power outlet. Top quality display with brightness being among the best available.
Cons: There is no dual monitor support for this notebook. It uses the SIS 760 video card......not for hard core gaming. The note book is a nice 4.7lbs not 4.2 as listed by newegg.
Other Thoughts: Worth the price ........compare for yourself and you will see what I mean.
